From Fact to Fiction
Jiyeon’s POV
“You look beautiful tonight HyunA. Really. Congratulations my friend!” I smiled as I embraced HyunA who was in her wedding gown.
“You don’t think he’s going to cancel the wedding right?” she whispered in worry.
“He won’t. I know he won’t” I assured her as she was getting the rest of her hair done.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure. I wasn’t sure what he planned but I needed to make sure everything went smoothly. I looked around for Hyunseung but accidentally bumped into someone in the process due to my franticness. I looked up and saw Junhyung. I haven’t seen him in about five days. We stared at each other as if we haven’t seen each other in ages. My heart started to beat faster and faster. Annoyed, I clenched my fist as if it would prevent anyone from hearing my loud heartbeat. Blushing, I started to walk away without a word.
I walked into the men’s dressing room and saw Hyunseung with his head down. He was alone in the room. I closed the door behind me and tapped his shoulder.
“Go away! Didn’t you hear me? I said I was—“ he yelled before he turned around.
“Jiyeon… I didn’t mean to yell at you. I didn’t know who it was,” he whispered.
“Don’t even think about it! If you hurt her, does that make you feel better? Stop hanging onto something that will never be” I said.
“Is that what you said to Junhyung?”
“What?” I asked in shock as I was taken aback by his question.
“Why are you blushing?” he asked curiously as he touched my cheek gently.
“Don’t touch me” I whispered as I slapped his hand away.
“Aha… so it’s like this now”
“I told you. There is nothing between us. What don’t you get? Get ready, the announcements are going to commend in ten minutes. Don’t think about it”
“I just want to know one thing. One thing only and I’ll… follow with the wedding” he pleaded as he looked at me with watery eyes.
“Did you ever had feelings for me?” he asked.
With my back turning from him, I grabbed the doorknob before answering.
“No, it was all a game” I lied.
I closed the door and wiped the tears that had fallen. I did like you. I did. Maybe I still do but all that doesn’t matter now. Because we are going on our own paths and this is the path destined for you. I walked to the wedding hall and sat at my seat with my family. I glanced over when I was greeted by L. Joe and his aunt. Mom seemed to stiffen her grip on my hand. I wonder what made her so nervous?
Junhyung’s POV
There she was. Park Yeo- Eul. She walked by our table and happily greeted Mother and Jiyeon. How did she know Jiyeon? Did Jiyeon know who she was? I glanced over at Jiyeon across the table and I saw her reactions seemed rather happy. Maybe she didn’t know anything but why were they acquainted in the first place? For some reason, I had a bad feeling about this… it was strange.
Hyunseung’s Dad went up to the stage and proposed a speech probably written by someone else. Everyone knew Hyunseung’s relationship with his dad. I sighed as I sipped a glass of wine. Suddenly, I heard something from the speaker. Everyone silenced themselves as they heard a conversation. It was loud and it ringed against my eardrums. I didn’t imagine it.
