From Fact to Fiction
Jiyeon’s POV
Junhyung knocked on my room door as he came in. I held onto my blankets as I leaned against my pink pillow. I never took my eyes off the window even as Junhyung came in. He sat quietly on the side of the bed.
“Jiyeon ah” he whispered as he put a strand of hair behind my ear gently.
“Mmmm” I said as I shifted my gaze.
“Did you pack your things?”
“Yeah. They’re right beside my desk”
“Come on. You’ve been staring at the window for too long. Mom knows you’re coming. She cooked your favorite food for dinner”
Junhyung pulled the covers away as he grabbed my hand gesturing me to stand up. I slowly stood up. Grabbing my parka jacket, I followed Junhyung to his car downstairs. We arrived in front of the house in little time. He helped carry my luggage in before he left without speaking to Mom or Dad. Mom rushed in to hug me tightly. I smiled at her warm welcome.
“Mom! You’re squishing me!” I yelped as I laughed.
“Oh I’m sorry. I’m just so excited to have my daughter come home! I haven’t seen you in so long,” she said as she pinched my cheeks.
“Welcome home Jiyeon. Your Mom made you your favorite food” Dad said as he headed towards the kitchen.
“Where’s Junhyung? He didn’t come with you?” Mom asked as he looked behind me.
“I don’t know. He left so abruptly”
Mom looked saddened. Her smile dropped slightly. When she realized that I noticed her frown, she immediately smiled as she led me to the kitchen. Dad was already seated in his chair. I stared at the large feast on our glass table. I ate with delight, stuffing myself one after another. I was happy back home. I missed Mom. I missed her smile, her comfort, her presence. I’m glad I came back for a few days.
Hyunseung’s POV
I watched their actions towards one another. Jiyeon and Junhyung were seated closely beside one another in the café as they were eating their lunch. Funny thing is Jiyoung was seated besides Junhyung but he ignored her as if she wasn’t there. Jiyoung seemed saddened as she ate alone. The way he looks at her. The way he touches her. The way he seems to talk to her so gently. Jiyeon seemed oblivious to all of it. I couldn’t figure it out. What is this all about? My eyes never having left their table, I hadn’t realized Dongwoon and his new friend had decided to sit at the table.
“Hyunseung, what are you looking at so seriously?” Dongwoon said as he placed his lunch tray on the table.
“Ahh nothing” I said as I quickly turned around.
“Well this is L. Joe. He just joined our school not too long ago”
“Hi” L. Joe smiled as he held his hand for a shake.
I briefly smiled as I shook his hand. He seemed like a nice kid. He seemed rebellious and playful. His large headphone hung around his neck. His uniform was changed as he added extra materials to his uniform. I think he would suit well with Dongwoon.
“Oh Dongwoon, look she’s right over there” L. Joe said as he pointed to Jiyeon.
I furrowed my brows in confusion.
“Wish me luck” L. Joe whispered as he approached her table.
My eyes immediately shifted over. What was this kid doing? Does he not know Junhyung attitude? Wait… what if Junhyung gets jealous? Doesn’t that mean there really is something going on? It won’t be because he’s overprotective but rather he’s jealous! That’s it! Make him jealous. I smiled as if I solved a crime scene case. Having thought about this for so long, I finally came up with a solution.
Meanwhile, L. Joe approached Jiyeon. She turned her head surprised at him. Junhyung stared at him blankly.
“Hi! I’m L. Joe, Dongwoon’s friend” he smiled at her.
“Ohh hi!” she said as she returned the smile.
“I hope to see you more often” L. Joe said a
