YUGYEOM'S POV

The boys and I had been trying to find Sowon around the island. 2 days had passed and she was nowhere to be found. We decided to go back to South Korea earlier than planned to continue finding her.

"We're here to check out," Bambam said as fluently as he could in english as we arrived at the check out counter.

"Ah~ I see that the very pretty girl left earlier. I guess Bali wasn't for her," the woman said.

Our eyes lit up at once.

"She checked out?" Bambam asked on behalf of us and the woman nodded.

"Was she with anyone? or did she say anything?" Bambam asked.

"Hm... Well, she was with another older man who was wearing a suit. He looked like a security guard," the woman said.

We offically checked out and we were waiting for the plane. While JR was trying to call her again, the rest of us were discussing where she could be.

"Why did she leave?" Youngjae asked sadly.

"She knew if she stayed and something bad was going to happen to her, Yugyeom was willing to commit suicide to donate his heart to her," Bambam explained and everyone stayed silent.

"Anyways, maybe she's back at her own house," Jackson suggested, breaking the tense atmosphere.

"I don't think so. Her parents were in on the deal as well. If she came back, they'd force her to stay in on the deal. She's somewhere where not us and not even her parents know about," I said and I heard everyone sigh.

We finally boarded the plane and all the passengers on board were asleep... except me.

FLASHBACK...

"Who are you?" I asked coldly.

"Um... Kang Sowon..." she stuttered in absolute fear.

"Leave? But its still school hours," she said innocently.

I laughed a little and shook my head in disbelief.

"Wah... There are still innocent, timid people like you in this mad world..." I said before turning my back and walking off.

"Aren't you scared?" she asked.

"You know... YOLO..." I said simply as I went out the school.

She started playing the guitar, a melody that made my heart feel warm.

"What's her name again? Um... Kang Sowon?" I asked.

"Yup! Kang Sowon," Bambam answered.

I continued staring at her as if she was all I could see. It was weird.

"Kang Sowon..." I thought to myself.

"Egocentric? Its the right way to live, not caring about what other people say and just doing what you like to do," I argued.

"There is no right way to live but it is wrong to live for others and it is also wrong to live for yourself only. Since the day we were born, we were helpless. Our parents, relatives, neighbours helped one way or another. If they do have certain expectations then what's wrong with you meeting those expectations? They helped you, why not you at least make them happy? If you grow up living only for yourself then how about those people who have helped you before?" she fought back.

"YAH! YAH, KANG SOWON!!!" I shouted.

She turned around to look at me.

"What?"she asked loudly.

"THANK YOU!" I yelled, showing a bright smile afterwards, a smile I never thought I had.

The moment I did, Sowon was staring at me. I had forgotten that the door wasn't fully closed so she could hear the conversation.

"What do you want?" I asked rudely, trying to get her to leave.

"Group project. Remember?" she asked.

"Look... I am not---" I said halfway.

"Maybe you've given up on yourself... but I have not," she said suddenly which caught me by surprise.

I continued staring at her. She was some math problem that I couldn't solve, a code I couldn't crack.

"Why... are you looking at me like that?" she asked.

"You're different," I replied.

"Haha... Yeah, I hear that a lot," she said.

Just then, her bus arrived. She smiled and waved back at me.

"See you on Monday, enjoy your weekend!" she said as she stepped into the bus.

"Sowon, wait!" I said suddenly.

She looked back at me.

"Smile more... I like your smile..." I said without thinking.

"I know... I know about everything. Mark hyung told me," I said as I stared into her eyes.

"Then why are you here with me?" she asked.

"You're left with 2 more years to live. That means I only have that much time left with you and I'm not going to waste another second," I said.

"Yugyeom ah..." she sighed.

"So don't even bother trying to stay away from me. I can stay away from others... just not you," I said stubbornly.

She smiled as a tear fell from her left eye. I wiped it away with my thumb.

"I'm not going to leave you... You've been alone long enough... I won't let you be alone anymore," I said.

"Can I say something that I'm not supposed to?" she asked, a smile on her face.

"What's that?" I asked.

"... I love you," she said.

"Um... Everything okay?" I asked.

I started hearing her sniffle and I knew she was having a rough day.

"No..." she said, depressed.

"... Why?" I asked, not knowing what else to say.

"Because I'm dying..." she said as I heard her cry harder.

"Because I feel like I'm letting everyone around me down... Because I want to live normally but I can't and that ... Because I want to be anyone else except for Kang Sowon... Because... I don't want to live this life..." she said in between sobs.

I continued hearing her cry... and it hurt me not being able to take even the slightest pain away from her.

"Sowon once explained to me why the Little Mermaid sacrificed herself for someone she loved. I didn't get her at first... but now I do. Love teaches us many things, one of its most rewarding lessons is to be selfless. I hope what I had said today taught everyone something. Thank you and I hope everyone listens to Sowon's part of the presentation," I said, finishing up my part.

"I traded my heart for Sowon's future, a place in medical school for Mark hyung and paid treatment for your mother" I revealed.

Bambam's tears started to fall after I told him what I did.

"Yah... Kim Yugyeom, are you really going to do this?" he asked and I pressed my lips together and nodded.

"Doing what you did... Was it just to get on Kang Sowon's father's good side?" he asked.

"Not at all. What I did is solely for Kang Sowon and Kang Sowon only," I replied.

"JR... One day, when Sowon is in grave danger, I'll have to give my heart to Sowon. I need you to take care of her when I'm gone," I said.

JR seemed shock just like Bambam.

"Yugyeom, I can't replace you and you know that. When she wakes up and realises that the heart she has is yours, imagine how much pain she'll go through," he said.

"I know you can't replace me and if instead she dies, no one can replace her. She has lived too long being afraid of dying and I've lived too long to not care about living. I know she'll be in... a lot of pain and you're the only one that I can trust her with. When the time comes, I need you to be there for her and make sure that she never feels alone. You understand?" I pleaded.

With a sigh, he nodded.

A tear trickled down my cheek. I looked out of the window and stared at all the stars in the sky.

"I'm sorry Sowon... I'll find you..." I thought to myself.
