Sungjong finally left. Myungsoo was right there the moment he left his house. He felt empty, betrayed, hurt, sad and mad all at the same time. He was slowly returning to his past self. Not a care in the world. He started smoking, drinking, clubbing and even had fights with different people.

Sungyeol was always there to save him. He was no. 2 in Myungsoo’ speed dials. Sungjong was no.1 but of course, he already left so he can’t be contacted. Every single time he brings Myungsoo home, his mother would cry and cry and ask what is happening to him.

“I want to die! Okay?!” he always say.

He didn’t go to school for almost a week now. He doesn’t answer calls from Sungyeol or anyone. He was just lying down his bed.

He decided to fix his books when suddenly, a paper fell.

“If our paths crossed once again, that’ll be our right time.”

The smell of the paper, the handwriting, the feeling; it was all familiar. It was definitely from Sungjong. “Damn it.” He stared at the paper. He was just staring, not minding each text he received. He was staring and waiting as if Sungjong will pop out suddenly if he keeps on doing it.

He took a peek at his phone.

“Sungyeol: I have to tell you something important.”

Whatever.

After 5 minutes, “If you don’t respond, it means it doesn’t matter.”

Yes, it doesn’t.

After 20 minutes, “Times up. I gave you your chance.”

Myungsoo doesn’t get what’s up with Sungyeol. He kind of misses his best friend. He went out and took a stroll around, thinking how he should fix himself for Sungjong. They will meet again, he was sure of it. He got Sungjong’s message fast and well.

“I’ll make sure to meet again.” He whispered to the air.

He went to Sungyeol’s house but found nothing. Lights turned off, no sign of anyone inside. He knocked and called out his name. “They left.” Their neighbour said.

“Left? To where?”

“They didn’t mention where. But they said they might not come back.”

“What?!” he doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t know where to go. To the ferry, to the airport, where? That he wasn’t quite sure.

But he’s pretty sure that whatever he had before, his best friend, the one he loves, his father, everyone was gone.
