No is not an answer.
HARD TO SAY I LOVE YOU“He said that?” Seohyun was a little perturbed with Jonghyun when Amber called to talk about what had transpired between her and her boyfriend. “He’s moving fast isn’t he? He’s calling you his Amber.” Seohyun emphasized on the word his.
“You know that I never been with anyone other than ...” Amber paused.
“Kikwang,” Seohyun sighed over the phone. “I know, but Kikwang let you do things the way you want. Well more or less allowed you to believe that you were doing things that you wanted to do, at your own pace. Jonghyun, well he’s just going at his own pace without considering you.”
There was silecence come from Amber’s end of the phone and it caused Seohyun to felt ill at ease. She felt like she might have said too much and she had hurt Amber’s feeling, “Amber...”
“You’re right,” Amber laughed weakly in the phone. It lifted the pressure off of Seohyun a little. “What do I do? I don’t want to hurt him. He’s so happy, but something just doesn’t feel right when I’m with him.”
Seohyun exhaled a long sighed. If you could tell Amber how she really felt she would. She would tell her that Jonghyun is not good enough for Amber. No one is good enough for Amber and that Seohyun believed that she was the best person, out of everyone in the world, the best person for Amber.
“Seohyun?”
“I think you’re just not comfortable enough around him yet,” she said, tried to sound as unaffected as possible. “Give him some time.”
Amber sighed, “Where are you anyway?”
“Jeju,” she answered as she turned around to look at Ryeowook sitting at a table behind her with his parents. They had taken a liking to her and it resulted in Ryeowook and her staying in Jeju longer than expected. It wasn’t bad, but she knew that she couldn’t love Ryeowook more than just a friend. Her heart belonged to someone else entirely.
“What are you doing there?” Amber sounded curious.
“I’m here with Ryeowook.”
“And you have the nerve to not invite me?” Amber said and Seohyun could imagine her pouting.
“Ryeowook had asked for a favour and I agreed to do it for him. That’s why I’m here,” She couldn’t help but giggle at Amber over the phone.
“Seohyun,” Ryeowook had walked up behind Seohyun without her realizing it, which made her jumped.
“Ryeowook,” she playfully hit him on the arm. “You scared me.”
“Who are you on the phone with?” He asked her as he titled his head toward his parents.
Seohyun bowed at his parents, “Amber, I got to go. I will call you when I get back in town okay?”
“Okay, don’t forget to get me some souvenir!” Amber said before she hung up the phone.
“Don’t leave me with them alone for so long,” Ryeowook sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. “They keep on asking me when I’m going to propose to you and starts to talk about what type of wedding we should have.”
Seohyun couldn’t contain herself and laughed, “You’re parents are too much. I just met them why are they talking about this already?!”
“We did tell them that we have been dating for over a year,” Ryeowook said as he offered her his arm as they started back toward their table.
Seohyun nodded, “So when is our wedding?” She said jokingly. Ryeowook glanced sideway at her, giving the look that this wasn’t a joking matter. “We can explain to them that there are many couples out there that dated for ten years before they get married.”
“I told them that,” Ryeowook paused. “They said is not a problem. As long as we get engage now we don’t have to get marry until ten or twenty years afterward if we want to.”
Seohyun felt her stomach twisted. She wanted to help her friend, but she can’t go along with this. However, after spending time with Ryeowook’s parent’ Seohyun know that no is not an answered that they would take. What had she gotten herself into, that was what she thought as Ryeowook and her sat back down at the table.
