Chapter 2 : Together as family.

“Jwesonghamnida abeonim, jwesonghamnida eommonim,” Yonghwa kneeled on the floor.

Mrs Park could only cry in her husband’s arms. Who wouldn’t be in tears after knowing their daughter was admitted to the hospital with suicidal attempt?

Mr Park grabbed his son-in-law shoulder and asked him to rise on his feet. “It’s okay Yonghwa-yah. Shinhye was not telling us anything too.”

Yonghwa felt guilty, he swore if he could turn back the time; he would undo everything that lead to this. But this was reality. There was no turning back except for stepping forward and faced the new challenges every single day.

“Yonghwa, we might not know the conflict between you and Shinhye. I want you to think carefully, about this marriage and future. Shinhye is carrying your child and she was trying to kill herself. Please, make a wise decision, for the sake of you two and the baby,” Mr Park consulted him. He was a very understanding father. Of course, he was disappointed to see his daughter’s new-built marriage was falling apart, but he couldn’t blame neither of them because he was one of their strongest supporters when they decided to get married at such young age.

“Abeonim…” Yonghwa looked at his parents-in-law. “I will stay by her side and raise the baby together. I will learn from my mistake and rebuild our marriage. I will not leave her.”

“Harabuji!” Haru ran to her grandfather once she stepped out from the car.

“My little Haru,” Mr Park hugged his precious granddaughter before lifting her up in his arms. “Aigoo, you look so pretty today.”

“Appa, you are here,” Shinhye joined the reunion of the grandfather and granddaughter. “Eomma said you were going to the office first for a meeting.”

“The meeting got cancel,” answered her father. “I decided to come here and have a talk with your husband first.”

“Oh he is here?” Shinhye asked, surprised.

“He is moving his things inside. Appa will take Haru for a walk to give you time to talk with your husband.”

“Ah, ani. Wait… no…” but Mr Park was too busy playing with Haru, walking away from his daughter.

Shinhye took a deep breath and carried the luggage inside the house. This was her second time she visited the new house. The first time was when she moved all of her things in. As she struggled with the heavy luggage of her and Haru at the door, a familiar man helped her with the luggage.

“Where should I put this?” Yonghwa asked, clearing his throat when their eyes met. This was their first time meeting with each other for the past 3 months.

“Just put near the corner there first,” Shinhye pointed to the corner near a small room. Yonghwa did as what she said. “Anyeonghaessayo, it has been a while,” Shinhye greeted him formally.

“Anyeonghaesseyo,” Yonghwa replied the warm greet. “Where is Haru?”

“Harabuji took her for a walk for a while.”

“Ahh, I see…… How are you?”

“Fine I guess, thank you.”

“Good to hear that. Oh, I didn’t have the chance to welcome you properly. Welcome home,” said Yonghwa, referring
