Chapter 43

In Hope of Love ♥

“Hoseok hyung, what’s with that face?” V asked when I walked back downstairs.

“I just … I heard that …” I couldn’t finish my sentences because I couldn’t wrap my head around what I had just heard.

“What happened?”

“She doesn’t want to get married…” I managed to get out.

“What?!” Jimin exclaimed.

“What happened?”

“Did you guys have a fight?” Everyone was curious about what had happened in with our engagement.

“I just overheard her tell Lia that she doesn’t think there should be a wedding anymore. Apparently my family is asking a lot from her, to have a traditional Korean wedding and they’re even making decisions for her. Her family also want to have it in the states and she’s really stressed. I’m such a jerk! I didn’t even consider that this could happen…”

“What are you going to do man?” Namjoon questioned.

“I don’t know but I want her to have the wedding she always dreamed of and I’m going to give it to her no matter what it takes.”

“How are you going to do that?”

“I have an idea but I’m going to need all of you to help.”

“Hey noona! You finally came down to see us.” Jungkook wrapped his arm around my shoulders when I walked into their living room. After my chat with Lia, I decided to take a nap and I had been asleep for almost 4 hours. I decided to come downstairs because it was getting close to dinner time and I was starving.

“Hey Jungkook…” He was overly affectionate for some reason. “What do you want?” I narrowed my eyes at him.

“I was just wondering …if you had to decide on a perfect wedding location, where would that be?” He asked nonchalantly. I thought to myself for a few seconds.

“I would have to say Hawaii… Something on the beach, something very simple. Why? Are you getting married or something?” I laughed.

“I was just getting ideas, you know, for when I decide to get married.” He smiled strangely.

“Yeah, well that better not be anytime soon, you got that?” I warned.

“Got it.” He smirked and kissed my cheek then stalked away to the couch. I walked into the kitchen and Jin was busy rustling up dinner.

“Hey oppa.” I jumped onto the kitchen counter and sat there watching him.

“Hey sweetheart, feeling better?” I nodded and smiled half-heartedly. “Here, have a taste.” He held up a wooden spoon to my mouth and I tasted the spicy sauce he was preparing in his pan. “How is it?”

“Delicious, like always.” I smiled.

“Thanks.” He smiled back. I watched him chop, dice, pan sear, and sauté until he was almost done and was just waiting for everything to finish cooking. Then he leaned onto the counter and looked over to me.

“What?”

“What would you say is your ideal wedding meal?” He asked suddenly.

“Uh…” I thought about it. “Since I would like my wedding on a beach, I would like to have a seafood platter. I love seafood! Shrimp, mackerel, spicy octopus, and lots of rice! You know better than anyone how much I love rice.” I felt my mouth water at the thought of so much food.

“That sounds very yummy.” Jin joined my food savoring.

“Anyhow, what are we having for dinner?” He started showing everything to me and it looked amazing.

“Can you help Jimin set the table?” I nodded and went out to the table with napkins and cups.

“Hi noona.” Jimin grinned at me.

“Hi.” I set a cup for everyone and placed utensils too.

“Noona, if you could sum up the guest list for the wedding, who would be invited?” He asked coyly.

Why is everyone suddenly so interested in the wedding? I wondered to myself.

“Since my dream wedding is very simple, I think it would just be us. V, Namjoon, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, Lia, you, and obviously Hoseok and myself.”

“Really? That’s very small.” He seemed very shocked.

“I want it to be very intimate, you know? I mean, I would love for family to be there but if my family were there and Hoseok’s family were there, I feel like I would spend all my time worrying if everything is okay and I wouldn’t enjoy it at all.” I explained.

“I see.” He smiled and walked away.

“Dinner is ready!” Jin shouted. The guys and Lia all started to gather around the table.

“Suga hyung is in his room.” Jungkook noted.

“I’ll go get him.” I knocked on his door.

“Come in!” I heard him shout. I walked in and he was nowhere in sight.

“Yoongi?”

“I’m in the closet!” He shouted again. I walked into his closet and he was sitting on the floor with several pictures spread out across the floor and a camera in his hand. I kneeled down and took one in my hand. It was a little girl with a single balloon in her hand walking down a picturesque sidewalk. It was adorable.

“Yoongi, did you take these?” I grabbed more pictures and they were all very beautiful.

“Yes ma’m!”

“They’re stunning! I wish you could be the photographer at our wedding…”

“Really? I’m flattered that you would even think of me.” He grinned a gummy smile.

“C’mon, it’s time for dinner.” I held out my hand to him and pulled him up. We walked out to the dinner table and joined everyone to eat.

“It’s our turn to wash dishes noona.” V said to me when we all finished. I helped him clean up, he washed and I dried. “Noona.”

“What?”

“Which are your favorite flowers?”

“Mm, red roses.”

“Do you like candles?”

“Yes.”

“Red roses or candles, if you had to choose.”

“Both. Why?”

“Just wondering…” We finished quickly and he ran away to his room before I could ask him anything else.

“Where are you going?” I heard Lia ask just as I was heading up to my apartment.

“I was going to my room?”

“Come and join us!” Lia and Namjoon were sitting on the couch together watching TV and cuddling. I didn’t really want to join them since I didn’t want to be the third wheel but she kept motioning me to sit so I did.

“What’s up?”

“Lia and I were just talking about weddings.”

“Weddings? Are you guys engaged?!” I said excitedly.

“Us? No!” Rap Mon laughed. “We just read online that anyone can get ordained online and perform a wedding ceremony. I asked her if we were to “hypothetically” get married, who we would choose to perform our wedding.”

“Oh, that’s sweet.”

“Yeah, what about you?” Lia asked me. “Who would you choose?” I thought about it.

“I think probably Namjoon.”

“Me? Why?” He wondered.

“Because you know me better than everyone. We’ve been friends for a long time and you have such a way with words, I think you would come up with beautiful ceremony.”

“That’s good to know.” He smiled. Namjoon turned and nuzzled into Lia’s neck.

“Um, I’m gonna go now…” I felt weird in the middle of their little corny moments. I ran upstairs and found J-Hope on the couch at my apartment.

“Hey baby.” He patted the space next to him and I sat.

“Hi.”

“So guess what.”

“What?”

“Bangtan is having an event in Maui this weekend and I wanted to ask if you’d like to come with us. Lia is going too.”

“Maui? Like Hawaii?!” I jumped up in my seat. “Are you serious? I’d love to go!”

“Perfect.” He smiled.

“How exciting!?”

“Today is Tuesday, so you have 3 days to pack.”

“We should get started soon.” I thought out loud.

“Yes we should…” He said then kissed me lightly on the neck. “But right now…” He kissed me on the cheek. “Let’s just stay here.” He kissed me on the lips. Hoseok’s hands were on either side of my face pulling me closer. He trailed butterfly kisses down my neck and then came back up to my lips. Slowly, he laid me down, my back on the couch, and then hovered over me and just looked at me. “Have I told you today just how beautiful you are?” He came down and kissed my lips again. “Want to know something?” He asked when he released me from the lip lock.

“Yes.” I nodded. J-Hope placed his lips right next to my ear and his whisper tickled me ear.

“I love you.”

“This place is amazing!” I was in utter shock when we arrived at our hotel in Maui. After packing for the past three days and traveling for nine hours, we were finally there. It was morning on a Saturday when we landed.

“Do you like it?” Hoseok asked.

“I do.”

“Well let’s go have some breakfast shall we?” Since we had traveled through the night, we hadn’t eaten anything for some time. We all agreed and went down to buffet for brunch.

“This food is amazing!” Lia swooned for the food.

“So what are you guys doing later tonight?”

“We’re going to have a fan signing and then we were invited to a banquet.”

“That sounds like fun!” Lia said.

“Yeah, we were thinking that since you two might get bored at the signing, that you could go shopping for the banquet.” Namjoon suggested. Lia looked to me and me to her and we both smiled.

“Shopping!” We squealed.

Around noon, the boys went off to their event and both Lia and I hit the shops.

“What kind of clothes are we supposed to buy for the banquet?” I wondered while I skimmed the racks.

“Namjoon said that it was supposed to be like beachy but formal…Something like that.” She replied. “I heard it was on the beach.”

“Really?” I raised an eyebrow. “What about this one?” I held up a blue dress and she frowned.

“No, I think you should choose something white. Those strong colors are too … eh.” She said. I took her comments very seriously since she was a stylist.

“What about this?” I held up a long gown that was white at the top and had pastel pink ruffles on the skirt.

“I like that! Why don’t we get several dresses and go try them on to see which we like best?” I nodded in agreement. I piled on several gowns onto my arm and then waited for Lia to finish grabbing hers.

“You go first.” I sat on a loveseat that was in the middle of the dressing room and waited for her to come out. The first dress was a long and coral colored one, very simple, with two thin straps on each side and cinched waist. “Uh, no.” I said almost instantly. Lia laughed and went to change. The next dress was short and a pale blue color. It had some detailing but I didn’t like it because of the length. “Next!” The last dress she tried on was a beautiful red color with flower beading details across the neckline. The dress was floor length and made with chiffon fabric. I absolutely loved it! “That’s the one, you look perfect!” She paraded around the dressing room area and stared at herself in the mirror.

“I do look good, don’t I?” She smirked. “I’m going to change back into my clothes and meanwhile you should start trying on dresses.” I went into the dressing room next to hers and began to change. “I’m ready for you babe!” I heard Lia call out to me from outside.

“I’ll be out in a second.” The first dress I tried on was the white and pink one with the ruffled skirt. “What do you think?” I said as I walked out.

“Mmm, no.” She frowned.

“Yeah, I wasn’t feeling it either.” I went back in and tried on a pure white dress. The top of the dress was snug but at the waist it dropped into two flowing layers of chiffon all the way down to the floor. The short sleeves of the dress were beaded with beautiful designs. I was in love with it.

“Oh my god…” Lia gasped. “You look stunning.”

“I look like someone’s bride.” I chuckled. I looked over to Lia and she was teary eyed. “Why are you crying?!” I laughed.

“It’s just … you’re so beautiful.”

“Geez, it’s just a banquet dress.” I laughed harder. “Don’t you think it’s a little plain though?” She nodded.

“What if…” She wandered to a nearby basket and grabbed a piece of silk ribbon the same color as her dress and put it around my waist. “There!”

“That looks much better.” I sighed in relief. “I think this is the one!” I changed back into my normal clothes and we went over to the shoe section. Both Lia and I opted for pretty sandal since we were going to be out on the beach. After the shopping we headed back to the hotel and started to get ready.

“Hoseok texted me and said to meet them at the event at six o’clock. Do you know where it is?” I asked Lia while she curled my hair and the pinned it up into a loose and low bun. Lia pulled out small pieces of baby’s breath flowers and put them into my hair.

“Yes, I do.”

“We have 20 minutes to finish getting ready and get there.” I finished the last of my makeup and got dressed and Lia did the same.

“Ready?” She asked.

“Ready.” I smiled. “You look so pretty.” I gushed. She looked like a princess.

“Me? Look at you!” We hugged and I noticed she was crying again.

“What’s the matter with you?” I laughed. We walked out and headed for the beach. It was a lengthy walk. We started walking until we reached a more secluded part of the beach.

“How much longer is it?” I panted.

“We’re here.” She answered.

“What? There’s nothing her-” Lia spun me around and there it was: my wedding.

“Here.” Lia handed me a bouquet of red roses.

“Oh my god…” I whispered. “This is it, this is my perfect wedding…”

“You look beautiful noona.” Jungkook came out of nowhere and kissed me on the cheek.

“Thank you.” I blushed. Jungkook held out his arm for me to grab and I did. Lia started walking down an aisle that was formed out of red rose flower petals and candles and we followed. On one side of the aisle Jin and Jimin were standing very handsomely in black tuxes and black bowties. On the other side of the aisle, Yoongi was holding a camera up to his eye and photographing me as I walked. Next to him, V was playing a smooth song on his saxophone. The best part of the entire wedding was at the end of the aisle. Hoseok was standing there, waiting for me, in his smooth black tuxedo under a floral decorated arch. He looked perfect. I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks as I reached the end of the aisle.

“Who gives this woman away?” Namjoon asked, standing next to Hoseok, as the person who was going to marry us.

“I do.” Jungkook said. “Take care of her hyung.” He hugged J-Hope tightly and took his place next to Jimin and Jin. I stood in front of Hoseok and just cried.

“I can’t believe you did this…” I whispered.

“I would do anything for you.” He replied.

“Ready to start?” Rap Monster asked and we nodded. “Friends, we are gathered here today to unite these two people in love and holy matrimony. I have known both the bride and groom separately and together and I have never thought of two people more perfect for each other. Though you come from different backgrounds and different ideals, you have overcome all that and become one. The only thing I wish for all of us here is that we are lucky enough to find someone to love us as much as you two love each other, even though I think I already have.” He smiled and looked over to Lia. “Anyhow, the groom has a few words he’d like to share.”

“First of all, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for helping me put this wedding together. None of this would’ve happened without you guys.” He smiled at the boys. “There are so many things that I could say about you…” He turned back to me. “But all I need you to know is that you have made me the happiest man in the world. If you let me, I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way. Thank you so much for marrying me today.” Small tears escaped the corners of his eyes and he blushed and quickly wiped them away.

“Does the bride have anything she’d like to say?” Rap Mon asked me.

“I would have never in my life thought I would be lucky enough to meet someone as great as you.” I started. “You are so kind, so generous, and so passionate. You know how to make me smile and I know that every day for the rest of our lives I will smile because of you, because you are my hope.” I cried some more.

“The rings?” Rap Monster asked out loud. Jin handed J-Hope and I the rings. “Do you, Jung Hoseok, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to love and cherish her, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you both shall live?”

“I do.” He smiled and placed the ring on my finger.

“Do yo-” He was about to start when I cut in.

“I do too. I do to all of it!” I gleamed and everyone laughed.

“Good you can place the ring on his finger.” I did as I was told. “By the power vested in me, I now declare you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Hoseok took me into his arms and kissed me sweetly. All of the boys and Lia shouted in celebration.

“Long live the bride and groom!”

Our lips parted and Hoseok rested his forehead in mine.

“Do you wanna know something?”

“Yes.”

“I love you and I always will.”

The end.
