He hummed. Because he liked to. 

 

He hummed. Because it made him calm. 

 

He hummed. Because the slightly younger male once mentioned how much he liked it.

 

And maybe...

 

 

"...just maybe, he liked hearing that reason more than anything else...the end! What do you think?" Daehyun warily asked while his eyes searched for the younger's reaction.

 

"It's nice, Daehyun."

 

The latter seemed pleased enough, Daehyun reasoned. The boy, his best friend, in his usual disinterested manner had complimented him and that was a big deal. Especially because...Daehyun stopped his train on thought and followed his friend to their usual hangout. 

 

One hour later~

 

Daehyun continued to contemplate about nothing and everything. He had been doing that a lot lately, all done to keep himself occupied and restrained in front of a certain boy. 

 

The same boy was resting his head on the older's shoulder right now. The younger didn't need to but always insisted on leaning on the older while playing his phone games. Not that Daehyun minded. It was the same boy whose gaze, enhanced by the eyeliner, was heavily concentrated on the device in his hands. The same one whose broad smile revealed the current winning streak he had in his game. The same one-

 

", I can't believe I missed that jump!!" 

 

Daehyun smiled at the sight before him. The same boy was now huffing and puffing around the room because he had missed the high score. Daehyun waited for him to calm down and after three more minutes, the boy sat down again. 

 

Daehyun's head was on holiday today and his instincts were going to take the lead. So the following action by his body did not strike the usually cautious boy as strange at all. Thus, like how he had practiced so many times in his head, Daehyun gently laid his head on the other boy's lap. The feeling was even better than he had imagined and he wondered why he hadn't done it before.

 

Daehyun could now properly appreciate the sculpture that was his best friend. Those perfectly proportionate features on that wonderful face; the delicate chest moving up and down with each breath he took. He watched the other's surprised face before it changed to a breathtaking smile. If only Daehyun could forever stay in the comfort and warmth of his friend then he could fall asle--

 

"Ok.. time for class, sleeping beauty!!" Youngjae half-yelled just as Daehyun had started to close his eyes. 

 

Daehyun frowned to find himself back up and the other moving away. He quickly grabbed the other's wrist and called to his friend like he had done probably a million times thus far in his life...

 

"Youngjae ah" 

 

The said boy turned around, waiting for Daehyun. Except today, the latter didn't use Youngjae's arm for support to stand up. And he didn't start to follow his friend out of the room.

 

And since Daehyun had long abandoned any rationality that he had in himself, his body moved on its own will. In one flash, Daehyun was so close to the Youngjae that he could trace the outline of the other's eyeliner and he could note the slight line of sweat the other had over his lips.

 

 

It may have been the lack of sleep or the fact that Daehyun was not thinking at all, but the boy didn't care to find out. He just knew....

 

Today was going to be different...
