Chapter 63
✭Legend || SM's New Girl Group
March 19th, 2014
Day 291
Nine hours later, the plane descended and had a very smooth landing (to the girls joy). It wasn't until after they got back to the lobby and were waiting for the luggage near the still unmoving carousel that the cameras were turned back on.
CAMERA ON
"The weather is so perfect!" Seol Ae gushed, large brown eyes intensely staring out the large clear windows.
"Of course it is. It's Hawaii~" Holly sang, laughing, arm carelessly looped with Yerim's. "Who was the genius that wrote this place down?"
"Me," Rui held up her arm for two seconds.
"What a genius we have in our midst," Yerim grinned.
"We should guess on how many places we are going to," Hye Rin suggested, following the light script for their show.
"Five," Haneul guessed, without a second thought.
"Seven?" Yerim seemed hesitant.
"Five," Holly agreed with the leader.
"Ten," Seol Ae laughed.
"Six," Hye Rin assumed, nodding at her own answer.
"Seven," Rui answered.
"Four?" Minhwa guessed, looking extremely unsure.
"Why do I feel like we're all wrong?" Seol Ae smiled, hiding a smile behind an open hand.
Much to the girls, and staff members, joy the carousel's song began to play, signaling the luggage was about to come around.
"The weird part about this vacation is, we don't know what we're doing," Yerim admitted to the cameras as the members walked out of the airport and onto a private bus. To variety show tradition, the girls all sat in the very back.
"I want to focus more on doing small things," Hye Rin said, looking out the window with wide child-like eyes at the new sights.
"I want to do something memorable," Minhwa softly admitted.
"Something we look back at with fond smiles," the leader added.
"Or regret," Holly laughed.
"What kind of vacation are you thinking of?" the main dancer questioned, amusement dancing in her eyes.
"A very interesting one."
Even though the girls would have loved to go to their hotel first, they ended up going on an hour long bus ride filled with bantering and questions towards the staff (who didn't answer) about what they were going to do. Before they knew it the sun was starting to lower in the sky, beginning to cause the start of a beautiful pink sky.
When the bus finally came to a stop and parked, the girls shuffled out onto a large grassy area. The grass was the perfect shade of green and perfectly cut and crisp under foot. The were led towards an area against tall trees where three woman with long orange dresses and wearing belts with puffs of brown grass around their waists were all dancing to the beat of a single drum.
The members 'ohhed' and 'awwed' at the sight, eagerly watching the three woman effortlessly roll their bodies to the simple drum beat.
"They're so in control..." Yerim trailed off, eyes watching in almost envy.
When the three women finished the members swiftly clapped for them, voicing their approval. All the members were handed different colored flower patterned cloths to tie around their waist.
"We're going to do the hula?" Yerim made the motion with her hips and arms, although it came out a little weird and exaggerated, smiling for the camera.
One of the three woman moved in front of the members to demonstrate. "The trick is to start slow, and when you get the hang of it to go faster. Like a hand game. The hip movement is a rotation, not a ." The woman spoke purely in accented English, but that's what subtitles for viewers are for. And luckily the members have their residential American to (begrudgingly) translate.
As expected all of Legend began the dance with awkward movements. Sure, they all dance for a living, but these are very different movements they weren't used to. The camera purposely focused on the tense face of their main dancer, who was slightly sticking out the tip of her tongue in deep concentration.
After they got the basic movements down (which doesn't say much for the singing line) the hula dancers began to show them steps to a dance. Throughout the entire dance the girls brightly smiled through the jetlag and threw a few jokes at each other for fun.
The dancing was fun but the girls were ecstatic when they were told they were going to go to the hotel. The cameras were briefly turned off so the girls could put their things
