Minho’s Flashback
Halloween Event
Just About Anywhere

Tonight is the Halloween event; Minho eagerly gets the huge box his Dad prepared for this event.
He does not have any idea what costume his Dad arranged as it comes like a surprise, last year he got himself a superhero – spiderman – costume, though he wished and requested to be a vampire nevertheless he liked it and right now he wishes it is the same.

Pausing staring at the box, Minho calls on his Dad just to confirm whether he granted his wish, comes out of his room and sees his Dad inside his room working on his project…

“Dad…
what kind of costume did you arrange for me…?
Is it same like last year – superhero…?”

Donghae looks at him and chuckling as he says…

“Oh… you will love it son…
It is so unique this time…”

“Eeehhh…?!”

“Yeah...
(nods) and by the way,
are you going with your friends…
same like last year…?”

“(shrugs) hhhmm…
depends… I don’t know…
it is more fun though if we trick and treat all together
but they, like every year, they would take my goodies…
so I will think…”

“Oh…I see…
(waves his hand) Ok… go now!
Don’t waste time…
you will never know what you’ll get this time…”

“(jumping in excitement) Yes…Yess…
thanks Dad…”

“(chuckling) You are most welcome…
(seeing his son quickly leaving says to himself)
hhhmmm… I don’t think so…
(laughing silently)”

Meanwhile with Minho, rips the box open then seeing what’s inside; his whole demeanor changes – slumps on the floor pouting and on a high tone calls his Dad whining…

“AASSSHHHAAA….
DDDAADDD….
WHAT IS THISSS…?!
YAAAAHHH…!
A PPPPUMPKKKKIN
COS…TUUUUMMMEE….!”

Donghae stands up and rushes to the kitchen releases his laughter ignoring for seconds his son’s droning call then after like a minute straightens himself up and goes out of the kitchen heads towards Minho’s room and yet controlling his laughs and so, with a straight face says.

“uuhhuummm….
Yes Minho…
what seems to be the problem
(then entering the room gasps then
pinches his thigh not to laugh)
Oooohhh….
Looks cute on you… yeah…”

“Seriously…Dad…
a pumpkin with a pumpkin head…?
(almost to a cry) aaahhh…
yyyaahhh… what is this…
they cannot even recognize me…
I mean… look…
(pointing at his face)
I don’t even have a face…
my face is a pumpkin…
a big pumpkin covering my body and
a small pumpkin to cover my entire head…!

“But son… son… look…
you have a secret tummy pocket where
you can hide all your treats so you can be able
to ask from people additional treats so just so
you can fill to the fullest your pumpkin jar…!
Don’t you think it is great….?”

Minho looks at his Dad…

“And you Dad…
Pumpkin Giant…?”

Donghae steps back taken by surprise but secretly chuckles and responds…

“Oh…son…
this year, Daddy needs to be excused cause I need
to finish an urgent project so we can have a
grand time on the next Halloween year.
So this time, let it be your year alone to celebrate Halloween…
go now, it is getting late…”

Minho quickly looks himself on the mirror and like a grumpy defeated puppy walks out of his room followed by his father, mumbling unintelligible sentences …

“I swear…uuhhmm… eeehh….
this attire, am sure…
trick or  treat alone….
Should be superman or GI Joe or Mario or Batman…
why pumpkin…hu..hu...hu...
this is the saddest halloween ever...
Oh pumpkin life...”

Minho still rambles even outside their main entrance door while his father watches him as he goes out of their main gate saying to himself…

“I know son…
you’ve had bit a not so good circumstances with Key
and his friend but there is nothing I can do
to help you right now…
so I want you to divert your attention temporarily…
having ridiculous fun…
(gulps when Minho turns around to face him)
huh?!”

“Bye Dad… see you later…!”

“(waves at Minho) Sure son…
HAVE FUN!!
(chuckles) ENJOY!”

“WAKANGA!!”
Shouts Minho…
