Lies
Mistaken
In daze, Jiyong brought his fingers up to his lips. Thinking back on what just almost happened; he got up and ruffled his hair in frustration.
“Ahh, you’re coming to Seoulto visit?” Nikki said over the phone.
“Chincha? I missed you so much!”
He could not help but overhear Nikki’s conversation. Jiyong furrowed his eyebrows, wondering who on earth Nikki is talking too.
“Okay, call me when your flight lands.”
“Bye, I love you too Derek!” Nikki smiled, hanging up the phone.
‘Derek? Who’s this Derek?’ Million of scenarios were running thru his mind right now and none of them were good. Realizing that over thinking things are not the best, he decided to go ask the source of the information, which is Nikki herself.
Glancing at Nikki, who was smiling like a idiot while looking at her phone’s screen, he walked up to her and asked.
“Why would you want to know?” Nikki said, raising her eyebrow
“I’m just curious...” Jiyong said, getting quieter. Nikki didn’t answer him and thought for a second. She did not know that the silence was slowly killing Jiyong. Finally finished thinking, Nikki answered.
“Why, are you…?’ paused Nikki, ‘jealous?’
Smirking as she finished her sentence. Jiyong asked himself the same question. Was he? ‘Why would I be jealous over a girl I’d just met?’thought Jiyong, ‘This is ridiculous.’
“No, I am not jealous.” scoffed Jiyong, “not at all.”
Little did Jiyong know, what he all said, was a lie.
