Yoseob’s POV:

I looked at my watch.  It was exactly 12noon.

I was outside Seoul Cineplex, waiting for Seungmi.

Well, actually, I was waiting for Seohyun to show up.

She HAD to. Or all my hard work would be wasted.

I looked around. There was no one around.

UGHHH.

What if she doesn’t show up?

What if she couldn’t care less about this date?

What if she didn’t even hear me in the hallway?

I knew I shouldn’t have done this! Now I’m stuck with that annoying Seungmi.

“YOSEOB OPPA!” I heard a high voice squeal.

Oh great.

I took a deep breath and turned around.

Sure enough, Seungmi was beaming at me, trying to look seductive in a little black dress and high heels.

And she caked on so much makeup.

If she was trying to impress me, she wasn’t off to a good start.

“Come on!” She giggled, linking her hand in mine. “Let’s go buy the tickets!”

She pulled me into the Cineplex.

What have I gotten myself into?

-AT THE TICKET COUNTER-

“Two tickets for The Hunger Games please.” I ordered the tickets reluctantly.

Was it too late to back out now?

I took my tickets and walked slowly towards Seungmi.

“One ticket for The Hunger Games please.”

Wait.

That voice.

It sounded familiar.

Way too familiar.

I turned to look at the person at the counter.

She was wearing a black jacket and skinny jeans, and her hair was tucked under a black hat.

She even had black sunglasses.

That slender figure…

That sweet voice…

That fair skin…

I grinned.

Looks like my plan was actually working

“Seungmi ah!” I was suddenly a lot more enthusiastic to meet her.

I turned around, making sure that Seohyun was looking, then I linked hands with Seungmi.

“Let’s go in” I flashed her a dazzling smile, not forgetting to quickly glance behind.

I could see Seohyun clenching her fists angrily, following us into the theatre.

-IN THE THEATRE-

The movie had just started.

I wasn’t interested in the movie.

I wasn’t interested in Seungmi.

I was only interested in making Seohyun, who was “coincidentally” sitting behind us, jealous.

Time to have some fun

I put my arm around Seungmi. I could hear her gasp excitedly, not daring to believe her luck.

Suddenly, at a shocking part of the show, Seungmi screamed and used this chance to give me a hug.

“Please.” I could hear Seohyun mutter under her breath. “It’s not even scary. You’re just obviously taking advantage of the situation.”

I could almost see her rolling her eyes.

I was trying hard not to laugh, I really was.

After some time, the female character gave the male character a kiss.

Oh damn.

I looked at Seungmi. She was smiling at me shyly.

“Yoseob ah…” She leaned in, about to give me a kiss.

No way.

I was not about to sacrifice my first kiss over this plan, no matter how fun it was.

I was about to push her away when I saw a bucket of popcorn fall on top of her head.

“Oh! I’m really sorry, miss! Are you okay?”

I looked behind and saw Seohyun “apologizing” to Seungmi for “accidently” spilling popcorn on her head, trying to make her voice sound lower than usual.

HA! So she really WAS jealous!

I looked at Seungmi. She was screaming at Seohyun angrily, her head covered in sticky, buttery popcorn.

It was almost as funny as what Seohyun had just done.

Seohyun’s POV:

Whew.

Thank goodness I dumped that bucket of popcorn onto Seungmi’s head on time.

God knows what that desperate girl was going to do if I hadn’t.

The movie had just ended, and I made sure to leave right after Yoseob and Seungmi.

So far, he hadn’t noticed me yet, thankfully.

But he was holding her hand so tightly, did he really like HER?

Well, she IS pretty, despite being a total airhead and idiot.

And he DID ask her to the spring dance last time.

Don’t tell me he REALLY likes her?

I followed the two out of the cinema.

WHY DID HE HAVE TO KEEP HOLDING HER HAND?

“Yoseob oppa!” Seungmi turned to look at him, trying to use aegyo.

It was sickening.

“Do you want to go for ice-cream?” She looked at him pleadingly. That was never going to work, right?

NO.

PLEASE SAY NO, YOSEOB.

YOU DO NOT WANT TO EAT ICE CREAM WITH HER.

STOP ENCOURAGING HER ALREADY!

“Sure,” Yoseob flashed her a dazzling smile.

DID HE HAVE TO KEEP DOING THAT?

DOESN’T HE KNOW HOW HIS SMILE DAZZLING PEOPLE?

I sighed and followed the two to the ice-cream parlour.

I couldn’t believe how desperate I was being. I swear I didn’t even recognize myself.

I took a seat near their table, hiding my face behind a newspaper.

“A sundae, please” Yoseob ordered.

WHAT? THEY ARE GOING TO SHARE AN ICE-CREAM?

“A strawberry milkshake please,” I ordered quickly, then I turned my attention back to them.

Seungmi was gazing into his eyes, smiling happily.

She had no idea how silly she looked.

But then again, I was not any better.

Their ice-cream arrived.

“Feed me, Yoseob oppa!” Seungmi opened .

EW.

Okay, that was seriously pathetic.

He wasn’t going to fall for it, RIGHT?

“Sure!” He smiled and fed Seungmi a mouthful of ice-cream.

Apparently not.

I sighed.

It was torture watching them share the ice-cream.

Yes, I admit it.

I like Yang Yoseob.

I really like him.

But from what I saw today, I was too late.

Finally, the date ended.

I was on my way home, in extremely low spirits, when I felt a hand rest on my shoulder.

Naturally, I screamed and spun back, ready to attack whoever was behind me.
