If you're happy, I'm happy (Kim Ji Eun + Kiseop, Nichkhun)

4ever 2pm's Oneshots (HIATUS)

By: 2pmvietguh

For: Kim Ji Eun

She likes him. But she's afraid of risking their friendship. She's afraid that if their feelings weren't mutual, then "The Three Musketeers" will automatically disperse. That alone has inhibited her from telling him how she truly felt about him. She hates it when he's with another girl. But what could she say? She was just his 'best friend'. It all goes back to those words. . .best friend.

--
"Happy White Day noona" Dongho handed her a single rose.

"Thanks" she ruffled his hair.

"See you guys at lunch" she said and headed to class.

Almost immediately, she noticed a white teddy bear, a box of chocolates, and a single red rose laying on her desk. She looked around.

"Who's it from? one of her friends asked.

She shrugged, "I don't know"

As strange as it was, she was hoping that the person who gave her all of these gifts were him, Lee Kiseop. She looked over at Kiseop's direction. He smiled at her.

"Our Jieunnie's got a secret admirer" Kiseop commented.

"What was I thinking?"

She opened the box of chocolates only to find out that there was a note hidden inside.

I like you Ji Eun. Will you be my girlfriend?- Khun

"Nichkhun oppa"

Before the teacher arrived she sent him a text. She didn't have the heart to reject him. "Please give me some time"

Nichkhun sighed in disappointment after receiving her text.

"After falling heads over heel for you for this past year, I've finally found the courage to confess to you. I hope that it doesn't go to waste. I hope that you will be able to accept my heart"

After school. . .

Everyone had plans with either their boyfriends and girlfriends. The only ones who didn't have plans were Ji Eun, Nichkhun and surprisingly, Kiseop. Nichkhun had to pick up his sister from middle school.

On their bus ride home.

Kiseop looked over at the teddy bear and rose.

"Nichkhun oppa, he gave me these for White Day" she held onto the teddy bear and box of chocolates.

"Oh really?"

She quietly nodded.

"Should I accept him?" Ji Eun suddenly asked Kiseop.

"Uh" he absentmindedly nodded.

"Really?"

"Of course. You and hyung are a great match" he didn't know that that comment alone was similar to a stab to her heart.

Her heart sank. "Really?" she asked again.

He didn't get a chance to answer her; his phone started to ring.

"Uh, Seungyeon. Of course I didn't forget. I'm coming over right now" he silently waved at Ji Eun before he hopped off the bus.

"Fine, I will accept his feelings. It's not like you care anyway" she sighed.

After that, Ji Eun met up with Nichkhun at a coffee shop. Without much thought, Ji Eun accepted Nichkhun's heart. With that, the two have been going out for a two months.

"Let's go to the movies" Kiseop grabbed Ji Eun's hand.

Nichkhun cleared his throat. He took ahold of her hand, "Sorry buddy. She's got a date with me. Let's go" he led her to his motorcycle.

"Sorry" she mouthed to Kiseop.

"You and I have been so distant after you and hyung started going out. I shouldn't have encouraged you to go out with him"

Later on in the week. . .

Ji Eun stayed after school until around 7 pm. She was finally finished with her project.

Suddenly the school's lights flickered and turned off altogether.

"Eomma" her heartbeat started to escalate. She hurriedly grabbed her things and started to walk down the dark hallway.

Someone placed their hand on her shoulder. "Ghost!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Yah, calm down Kim Ji Eun. It's me, Kiseop!"

"Let- Let's hurry out of here" she stuttered.

As soon as they got out, Kiseop headed towards the opposite direction.

"Lee Kiseop!" she ran after him.

She gently pushed him. "You've been acting strange lately. What's wrong?"

"Nothing" he dismissed her question with a simple answer. He continued to go his way.

She continued to follow him and continued to ask him until he finally answered,

"Fine. You want to know why?" he stopped in his steps.

"Uh" she nodded.

"I hate the fact that you're going out with Khun hyung" he admitted.

"Why are you saying this now? Weren't you giving me the silent treatment? You were doing pretty well; ignoring me, pretending as if I didn't exist. Why are you suddenly acting like this?" she was slowly getting frustrated.

"Because I like you" he confessed.

"Then why didn't you say anything? Even worse, you encouraged me to go out with him"

"Because I didn't realize how much I have actually fallen for you. . .until I've lost you"

She softened, "It's too late"

"No it's not" retorted.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Break up with him" he suggested.

"I can't" she said, but she herself didn't have a proper reason as to why she couldn't.

"Why?" Kiseop wanted to know.

"Because he's a good person"

Little did they know that Nichkhun was nearby. He was actually there to pick up Ji Eun from school.

"So you're going to stay with him because he's a good guy? You don't like him, so you're staying with him because you pity him?" he attacked her with those questions.

She was quiet. "Even so, I can't break up with him"

Nichkhun leaned his back to the cold brick wall. "I didn't know that that's how you really felt Kim Ji Eun"

He was heartbroken. He didn't want this pain to continue any longer. If she didn't like him and that she's just staying with him because to harshly put it, she pities him then it wasn't worth it for him to continue and pretend as if he didn't know.

Ji Eun blew on her scalding hot cappucino as she and Nichkhun walked along the Han River. The two spotted an empty bench. They gradually approached it and took a seat.

"Tonight's such a beautiful night, don't you think?" she looked up at the night sky; stars were scattered almost everywhere.

Nichkhun meekly agreed.

The atmosphere between the two became quiet.

"Let's break up" he suddenly said.

"What?" she looked at him, "Why?" she asked.

He was quiet. He took a sip of his americano.

"Khun oppa" she started to say.

He shrugged, "It doesn't feel right. What we have right now.."

That wasn't the reason. "Because I don't want you to feel obligated to like me back. I don't want you to pity me, Kim Ji Eun" That was his reason.

"I know" she silently agreed. "I take you as a big brother more than I do as a boyfriend"

He uncomfortably cleared his throat, "So let's go with that" he got up from his seat.

"Oppa" she gently tugged his shirt as she held him back.

"Uh, what is it?"

"So we're back to normal, right? I'm still your Jieunnie and you're still my Khunnie oppa?"

He hesitated but nodded, "Of course"

She hugged him, "It's a relief then"

"It's so difficult to not like you Kim Ji Eun" he melted by her sudden touch.

After a little over a week, Ji Eun started going out with Kiseop. After the new couple was formed, Nichkhun was rarely available after school. He occupied himself with a part time jobd. He seems to be avoiding both Ji Eun and Kiseop altogether.

"Where's Khun hyung? Everyone's here except for him. Kevin, you told hyung about today, right?" Eli asked.

"Of course I did. He was the first person that I called"

"Dongho, grab the marinated beef! It's on the bottom shelf of the fridge!" Soohyun exclaimed.

"Hyung why can't you go?" Dongho was in the midst of playing Temple Run.

"Because I'm your hyung. As a dongsaeng, you should just say 'Yes hyung' and happily do what I say" Soohyun stated as he flipped the meat over.

"If I had a dongsaeng I wouldn't make him do anything" he mumbled. Dongho handed his phone over to Kevin, "Hyung, help me get to the next level" he got up from his seat and headed inside to grab the marinated beef.

"Do you think hyung's still upset?" Kiseop casually asked his girlfriend.

"Don't say that. Oppa's not that kind of person" Ji Eun assured.

"Lee Kiseop, am I really that shallow?" he heard an awfully familiar voice asking him.

"Hyung"

"Sorry I was late" Nichkhun handed Dongho a Deluxe Korean Beef Set.

"Hyung! You shouldn't have! It's just a small gathering" Eli exclaimed but was grateful for the meat.

"Oppa!"

"What do you want to drink? Coke, lemonade, water, cider?"

"Coke will be fine"

"Araso. I'll be back" she chirped as she headed inside to grab the drinks.

"Sorry hyung for thinking wrongly of you" Kiseop apologized.

"Forget it. I can't blame you for thinking that way"

Kiseop embarrassingly rubbed the back of his head.

"You better take care of Ji Eun well. If you ever make her cry or mistreat her, I'm going to take Ji Eun away from you" Nichkhun felt that he had to say that.

"Eh hyung, you won't do that" Kiseop claimed.

Nichkhun slightly cleared his throat, "ust know that I'm capable of taking her away from you" he warned.

"Don't worry hyung, I will treat her well so that you won't be able to even attempt and do something like that"

"What were you guys talking about?" Ji Eun asked as she handed Nichkhun his drink.

"Nothing" Nichkhun soundly dismissed her curiosity.

"Kimchi! We need kimchi!" Eli exclaimed.

"I'll get it!" Ji Eun volunteered.

"I'll go with you" Kiseop said to her.

"Kiseop, must you always follow your girlfriend wherever she goes?" Hoon questioned.

"Of course" he nodded as he grabbed Ji Eun's hand and went inside to grab the kimchi.

Nichkhun's phone suddenly vibrated. "This can be my excuse to leave" he thoughtfully thought as he accepted the call.

"Uh, Victoria. Right now?" Nichkhun asked. "Okay, I'll be there in 20 minutes"

"I'll catch up with you guys later" he got up from his seat.

"But hyung, you've just gotten here" Kevin stated.

"I know, I'm sorry. I will definitely catch up with you guys next time" he promised.

"Khun hyung? Khun hyung, what are you talking about? It's me, Wooyoung" his friend was confused.

"Uh, Wooyoung. I'm busy right now, I'll call you back" he hastily ended the call as soon as he was out of eyesight and earshot.

Nichkhun his engine. He noticed Ji Eun looking around. It seems as though she was asking for his whereabouts.

Nichkhun's phone started to vibrate. It was none other than Ji Eun.

"Uh, Ji Eun"

"Oppa, you've just gotten here. Did something bad happen?" she worriedly asked.

"There's a few things that I have to take care of back at the company" he lied.

"Oh. I wish you could have stayed though" he could see her from far far away.

"You kids have fun. I'll catch up with you later"

"Okay oppa. Bye" she ended the call.

Nichkhun noticed Kiseop grabbing Ji Eun's hand and leading her towards the grill to taste the cooked meat. Kiseop carefully blew on the hot beef and fed her. She smiled as she put a thumbs up and nodded.

"It has been a while since I've seen you smile like that. You seem geniunely happy. Kim Ji Eun, even if it hurts to see you with him,  I will be okay. As long as you're happy, I'm happy" he thought as he pulled out of the driveway.
