Do you remember? (Ahn Eunmi + Son Dongwon)

Eunmi looked around the empty halls. Everyone was at lunch at this time. She dropped her backpack in the corner of the empty music room.

The vacant music room on the third floor was her favorite place to practice her singing. She practices here every day during lunchtime. She didn't want to practice at home. Home, the place that brings her sadness. Her parents have officially gotten a divorce. Eunmi was to leave for Paris with her mother in two weeks.

Eunmi hated the fact that she couldn't do anything, that she was too young to have a say in her family matters.

She took a seat in front of the piano and slowly played a few notes. Eunmi has just composed a song, "When the door closes". She's still trying to figure out how to make a melody that best suits her song. Slightly frustrated, she stopped meddling with the piano.

She started to sing her song, without any music accompanying it. (acapella)

On the other hand. . .

Dongwoon, being the obedient student he is, has just finished running an errand for his teacher. As he was on his way to lunch, Dongwoon heard someone singing in the music room. Curious, he took a peek inside.

When this door closes, when your figure disappears
I’ll spend the day in tears because of the memories I shared with you
I’ll hope that you’ll be happier
When I let go of this hand now
There won’t be a reason for me to smile but when
I see you smile in another person’s embrace, I’ll smile. . .

Just by her voice, Dongwoon's heart fluttered.

"She has a beautiful voice" he looked at her. The girl was sitting in front of the piano. She was too immersed in her singing that she didn't notice him coming in.

As she finished the song, without realizing, Dongwoon started to clap his hands.

"Ah, kkamjak (scared me)" Eunmi looked up from her music composition notebook.

That was the day I fell for her.

That was the day I fell for him.

"Oh, mian for coming in without permission" Dongwoon apologized.

"Ani, it's okay. I'm not suppose to be here anyway" she said as she started to gather up her things.

"So, you practice here?" he asked her.

She carefully nodded. "Don't tell me, he's going to be a snitch and snitch on me" she thought to herself.

He smiled, "I practice here too"

"One little lie won't hurt, would it?" Dongwoon thought to himself. It was their first time meeting each other (although they were in the same school) and Dongwoon has already fallen for her.

From that day on, Dongwoon and Eunmi would meet at the music room during lunch time to practice on their singing.

They've gotten acquainted with each other for about a little over a week.

Time has passed by quite fast; it was already the night before Eunmi's departure to Paris.

"Do you have everything packed up Eunmi?" her mother asked her.

"Ne, eomma" Eunmi said as she set her two suitcases aside, in the corner of her room.

"Don't worry, honey. I've enrolled you into one of Paris' best music school. You will do fine there" her mother assured her.

Eunmi meekly nodded.

Meanwhile. . .

Dongwoon stayed up late to compose a melody for Eunmi. After a few hours, he was finally finished. He wanted to replay it a few more times, since he was planning on playing the piece for her tomorrow.

"Son Dongwoon, if you don't stop playing, I'm going to come over there and break your keyboard!" his mother threatened. "Do you know what time it is?!"

He looked at the clock on the wall, it was already 1 a.m.

"Sorry eomma!" he yelled back as he turned off his lights.

The next day

Eunmi dropped by the school. A part of her was hoping that she could see Dongwoon for the last time, but he wasn't there. But then again, she didn't want him to be there; it would have made things more difficult for her. She didn't want to say goodbye. She hated goodbyes. Eunmi quietly entered the music room. She looked around the room. Quick flashbacks of Dongwoon and her came back to her.

Her flashbacks were interrupted when her mother called her name.

"Eunmi-yah, let's go. We're going to be late for our flight" her mother said to her.

Eunmi quickly placed a small envelope on top of the piano, hoping that whenever Dongwoon arrives, he will see it. She soon left the music room.

She turned around to look at her school for the last time.

"I don't know how things will be like from now on. But, I really hope that you and I will bump into each other one day" she thought to herself as her mother and her got inside the taxi.

Without any sort of prior knowledge of Eunmi's departure, Dongwoon hurried towards the school's entrance. The first thing he had in mind was Eunmi. He couldn't wait to show her the melody that he created for her song.

Lunchtime soon came; Dongwoon hurried to the music room, the place where he and Eunmi would always meet at.

He looked around the empty music room. She was usually in the music room by now. They've always meet up during this time.

Dongwoon was about to leave and head back to the cafeteria when he noticed something sitting on top of the piano.

He was curious. It was a small envelope. He carefully opened the envelope. It was a letter from Eunmi, along with the letter was a music note keychain.

Dongwoon,

We've only known each other for a week, but it feels like I've known you for quite some time now. I've never met anyone who's so passionate for music like you are. I think I might have fallen for you because of that. I couldn't say goodbye to you, because I couldn't stand the fact of actually standing in front of you, and telling you that I have to leave somewhere far away. I just couldn't do it. Mian. Perhaps we will bump into each other sometime in the future? It would be great if we do.

p.s. Take this as a goodbye and confession letter. Sigh, I bet you're laughing at how naive I am. >.<

-Ahn Eunmi

Dongwoon couldn't believe it. There were many things he wanted say to her. There were many questions that he wanted to ask her. But, one of the main things that he wanted to tell her was: "I like you too, Ahn Eunmi. No matter how long it is until we see each other, and as naive as it sounds, I will wait for you"

--
4 years later-

"Bittersweet, on stage in 5 minutes!" Dongwoon could hear one of the staff exclaim from outside their dressing room. The other group's room was right next door from B2st.

B2st has just finished their performance for "Beautiful"

Yoseob and the other guys were talking about Bittersweet, a three member girl group who was making a guest appearance on Music Bank. They wanted to meet that group. Dongwoon, uninterested, left the dressing room.

As he was walking amongst the crowded hall, Dongwoon heard someone yell a familiar name, "Eunmi-yah! Wait up!"

He quickly turned around. Dongwoon has been doing this for the past four years. At the mention of "Eunmi" his ears would always perk up, hoping that it would be Eunmi, the girl that he fell for four years ago back in high school; Ahn Eunmi.

He saw the girl turn around. She smiled at the person who called her name.

"It's her" Dongwoon couldn't believe it. "She still looks the same. She's gotten prettier. Will she recognize me?" he thought to himself.

He had an idea.

A few minutes later. . . .

"Please hyung" he begged the producer. He wanted to perform the song that Eunmi composed back then, hoping that she would recognize him through that.

The man hesitated, "Fine, one song doesn't hurt, does it?" you can go right after Block B finishes their performance" he told Dongwoon.

"Thank you thank you!" he bowed.

"Everyone, we are adding an additional performance. B2st's Dongwoon will be performing "When the door closes" So, please give a round of applause for his  performance" the audience went crazy as soon as they heard that Dongwoon was going to be singing.

Dongwoon took a deep breath before he went back on stage.

"Ahn Eunmi, I'm not the only one who remembers this right?" he thought to himself.

Dongwoon started to play the notes.

Meanwhile ten minutes ago. .. .

Bittersweet went back to their dressing room to take a short break. After a five minute break, they had a touch up on their make up. They were going to have a special performance with 4minute.

As Eunmi was changing into her stage clothes, she heard a familiar set of lyrics. She looked at the plasma screen to see who was singing. "It's him"

Before saying your last farewell to me
Stop for a moment and smile at me
Stay for a bit, you who gave me light
Even if it’s the end I don’t want to show you my tears

Without thinking she rushed out of the dressing room.

"Eunmi-ssi, where are you going?! Eunmi-ssi!!!" the coordinator yelled after her.

The other two members looked at each other, in bewilderment.

Hope and excitement were present within her as she tried to get through the crowded hall and towards the back of the stage.

"No way" she moved closer to where the music was being played. She stopped at the area where singers/groups would usually wait for their turn to perform.

He had blonde hair, and was wearing a pair of white skinnies, a fancy white sweatshirt, and a white scarf.

"He looks so different. He definitely doesn't look like the Dongwoon back then. He's gotten more handsome" she thought to herself. "I can't believe he still remembers this song" she was amazed.

One of her group member finally caught up to her, "Eunmi-yah, gwenchana?"

(While smiling for you) I say thank you for making these happy memories
(Shining with an awkward smile) I send you off like this but

When this door closes, when your figure disappears
I’ll spend the day in tears because of the memories I shared with you
I’ll hope that you’ll be happier

"Unnie, after four years, I've finally gotten a chance to see him again" Eunmi said to her as a single teardrop fell down her cheek.

When I let go of this hand now
There won’t be a reason for me to smile but when
I see you smile in another person’s embrace, I’ll smile

When destiny leads you and that person to the end of your relationship
Know that I’ll be waiting
Even if you think about that person
I’ll try to promise you that I’ll make you smile more than you smiled with that person but

(If you show me your tears) And say that it was hard by that person’s side because only a farewell remained
(Blankly holding your hand) I’ll hold you like this but

Eunmi continued to stay there, listening to him sing.

When this door closes, when your figure disappears
I’ll spend the day in tears because of the memories I shared with you

Tears were b in his eyes, as he sang those two lines.

People could hear B2st's fans chanting, "Uljima, uljima (don't cry)"

Dongwoon continued to perform the sad song.

I’ll spend the day in tears because of the memories I shared with you
I’ll hope that you’ll be happier
When I let go of this hand now
There won’t be a reason for me to smile but when
I see you smile in another person’s embrace, I’ll smile

My heart has weakened, before I can be with you again

When the door closes

After he finished his performance, he quickly left the stage. The MCs introduced the audience to the next performance.

Eunmi was only a short distance away from him.

"Dongwoon" she whispered.

Within the busy backstage, Dongwoon immediately spotted Eunmi.

"Ahn Eunmi"

She stood there, frozen. She didn't know what to do. "It really is him" she bit her lip. She didn't want to cry in front of him on their first time seeing each other after four years.

Later that night. . .

He held her back, "Ahn Eunmi, you're not going to leave again, are you?"

"I have to. My manager's going to kill me if I don't get back to the hotel in time" she said matter of factly.

Dongwoon pouted. "We didn't even get to spend that much time with each other"

"Don't worry, we will see each other more often in the future" she promised him.

"Jinjja?" Dongwoon couldn't hide his excitement.

"Uh. We're going to debut in South Korea soon and will be staying here for good"

Dongwoon hugged her tight.

"It's a relief then" he said to hr.

"Wae?" she asked.

"You won't leave my side for the second time"

"Mian, Dongwoon-ah, I didn't want to leave back then" she started to say.

"Forget it. It doesn't matter anymore because you're here now"

She looked up at him and smiled.

~Now put your hands up put your hands pu pu pu put your hands up!~

"Sorry" she said as she fumbled to get her phone.

"Yah, Ahn Eunmi!!!! Where are you?!!" Eunmi held the phone away from her ear. It was her manager.

"Oppa, I'm on my way. Uh, hanging up" she said.

"I have to go" she told him.

"I'll take you there" he offered.

"Uh" she nodded.

While on their way to the hotel that Eunmi and her group members were staying.. ..

"I didn't get a chance to get to know you as much as I wanted" Eunmi told him as the two walked along the streets.

"Same here. I'm planning to know every little thing about you, so Ahn Eunmi, will you be my girlfriend?"

Eunmi thought about it for a second, but nodded.

Dongwoon smiled and took Eunmi's hand. He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Wae?" she asked him.

"It took me this long to finally do this" he said as he held their intertwined hands up. "It took me this long to ask you to be my girlfriend"
