"No, I'm late for school!" Hyunnie looked at the clock. Only 30 minutes left until school starts.

"Oppa, why didn't you wake me up?" she asked as she pulled on her shoes.

"Mian dongsaeng-ah. Hurry, I'll take you to school" Geonil rushed out the door; he was still in his pjs.

She hurried inside class before the bell rang. She took the seat next to her best friend, Kwangmin.

"Okay, to start off for the week, you will be assigned a project that's worth 10% of your grade" the teacher started to say.

The kids in the class started to groan and complain. Mr. Kim glared at them but continued, "The project requires you to partner up. Before I let you go off and pick your partner, listen to the instructions first, araso?"

Hyunnie looked at Kwangmin. Yet, he was looking at Sunny.

"The only reason why she agreed to be your partner is because you're smart, babo-yah. She knows that you both will get a perfect score" she thought.

"Hyunnie-yah, I'll be your partner" Youngmin suggested.

"Uh, sounds great" she absentmindedly replied.

She noticed Kwangmin making small talk with Sunny. Sunny was smiling and flipping her hair.

As time passes by, Kwangmin realized that Sunny only talked to him and treated him well because he was willing to do her assignments for her. His one year crush on Sunny soon faded. Yet as time passes by, he noticed his best friend, Hyunnie in a different perspective.

It was that day of the year again. .Valentine's Day

A handful of girls from their class gathered around Kwangmin. They were giving boxes of chocolates to him. He happily took them and thanked them.

"It's like this every single year"  Hyunnie thought to herself and sighed.

"Ooh, who's it for?" he pointed at the pretty box. He was standing right behind her. "Your crush?"

She handed the box of chocolates to Youngmin.

"Here, you can have this" she said and left.

"I was just kidding! Yah!" he yelled after her. "Well, more candy for me" Youngmin said as he retreived the other boxes of chocolates that he received earlier that day.

Back at the twins' house. . .

Youngmin opened the box of chocolates. He was about to pop a piece of chocolate into his mouth but stopped midway; on the home-made chocolates were:

Jo Kwangmin, can you accept my heart?

"Kwangmin"

"Wae?" he asked as he threw his backpack onto his bed.

"Here" his brother handed him the red box.

"Yah, you're giving me your left over choco-" Kwangmin said but was interrupted.

"It's from Hyunnie" Youngmin told him.

"Jo Kwangmin, can you accept my heart?" he read aloud.

He noticed something pink underneath the chocolates. It was a small piece of pink paper.

Best friend? Scratch that. Jo Kwangmin, after five years, I've finally found the courage to tell you, I like you. So, will you be my boyfriend? -Hyunnie

A smile slowly crossed his face, "Cute"

He closed the box of chocolates and grabbed his phone.

"Where are you going?" Youngmin asked.

He dialed her number. "Out"

"Yah, I was going to eat that"

Youngmin grabbed another box of chocolates from his backpack.

"Mmm, yummy" he said as he took another bite of the white chocolate.

Meanwhile. .

She looked at her phone; Kwangminnie.

Her heart started to palpitate.

"Hello?" she carefully answered.

"Where are you?" he asked her.

"Home, wae?" she asked back.

"Great. That means you don't have any plans"

"Mwoh?"

"Ani. Let's meet up. I'll meet you at the skating rink in 30 minutes, araso?" Kwangmin said to her and ended the call.

Hyunnie was standing near the skating rink. She looked out and saw couples everywhere either holding hands or embracing eachother.

"Park Hyunnie!" she turned around to see Kwangmin from a short distance.

She couldn't help but smile. Her smile faded when she saw him holding onto the box of chocolates.

All kinds of thoughts and scenarios ran through her head, anything but positive ones.

"Look, I.. I was just kidding around with you" she had her eyes on the box. "Joke, it was just a joke" she stammered.

Kwangmin continued to stare right into her eyes. A smile finally crossed his face. "Ah, a joke? So, you don't want me to be your boyfriend?"

"No, it's not-" she stopped. "Nevermind. Just take it as if none of this happened" she mumbled. She tried to turn around to leave but he grabbed her by the wrist.

"I want to be your boyfriend, Park Hyunnie"

"You don't have to pity m-"she tried to say.

"Who said anything about pity?" he ruffled her hair. He pulled her into a hug. "Let's give this a try. Starting today, you're my girlfriend, Park Hyunnie"

"Am I dreaming?" she thought to herself.

He finally let go of her. "Now, kaja. Let's go rent some ice skates" he grabbed her hand and headed towards to the counter.

--

"Welcome to Bittersweet Caf-" Kwangmin said but stopped. "Oh, noona!" he exclaimed.

"Annyeong" the young woman waved at him.

"How are you noona? I haven't seen you for awhile. You seem tired. You haven't been getting enough sleep, have you?" Kwangmin asked.

"Uh. I'm getting ready to take finals soon. So I'm studying like crazy"

"Ah, jinjja-yo? Must be tough. But no worries noona. I'll make you an Americano. It's on the house" he smiled at her.

It was time for Bittersweet Cafe to close up. They've bid the owner and workers farewell before they left.

"I seriously want to open up a coffee shop just like this one" Kwangmin said as they headed in the opposite direction.

"What would you name it?" she was curious.

"H.K. Coffee Shop"

"Why H.K.?" she wanted to know. "Mwoh, Hello Kitty?"

"Babo, H is for you, Hyunnie, K is for me, Kwangmin" he ruffled her hair.

"Really? I've always wanted to open a bakery shop"

"Let's open up a coffee shop together first we graduate out of high school. Then we will open a bakery shop, okay with you jagiya?"

"Sounds like a plan"

He intertwined his hand with hers, "Let's go catch a movie before I let you go"

The young couple were too immersed with happiness that they didn't realize that they were being followed.

"Kwangmin-ah, you and her seem to be happy. But, you shouldn't be happy with her. You should be with me. That should be me walking hand in hand with you" the mysterious young woman crushed her cup of coffee and continued to follow the two.

After watching a movie and grabbing a late night snack, Kwangmin took his girlfriend home.

"See you tomorrow" he leaned in and kissed her on her cheek.

"Uh, annyeong"

After Hyunnie safely entered the apartment complex, Kwangmin turned around to leave.

He felt as though someone was following him. He turned around, but no one was there. He neared an alley to get home quicker.

Bam! A mysterious girl slammed a brick on his head. Almost immediately he out.

He woke up with a major headache. He looked around the room. This place was unfamiliar to him. Kwangmin noticed his pictures plastered all over the wall. There were pictures of him by the school gates, at his workplace, near his home, and places where he usually hang out with his friends.

He realized that his hands were tied, along with his feet.

"Whoever this person is, they're a stalker" he thought to himself.

"Oh, you're up. How was your sleep?" she sweetly asked.

"Noona" it finally made sense to him. "Why are you doing this?" he asked the woman.

She ignored him and changed subjects.

"Kwangmin-ah, noona has to go to work. I'll be home soon. Ah, I'll buy your favorite food on my way back. Love you" she hugged him tightly. She closed the door behind her.

He struggled to escape yet with no success.

It has already been five days since Kwangmin went missing.

Hyunnie was worried sick for her boyfriend. She couldn't focus on anything. She accidentally dropped a coffee mug towards the ground. The owner dismissed her and told her to clean the tables. As she turned around, she accidentally bumped into a customer.

"Joesonghamnida" she bowed.

"Gwenchanayo" the woman slighly bowed.

"That jacket" she looked closely at what the woman was wearing. "That's Kwangmin's. That's what he was wearing the last time I saw him. Aniya, I must be crazy" she shook that thought off. Yet, her instinct thought otherwise.

"Unnie, there's an emergency. I have to go" she said as she quickly took off her apron. She stealthily followed the young woman.

She followed the woman to a Chinese Restaurant and then finally to her house. She quickly hid behind a bush near the house.

"Kwangmin-ah, noona's home!"

"Kwangmin-ah, eat a lot. You haven't been eating properly" she led him downstairs and into the dining room. She gently set him in one of the chairs.

"Here, I'll feed you" she got up from her seat and headed towards Kwangmin.

"Ah" she picked up a piece of steak. Kwangmin turned the other way.

"Why aren't you eating?" she asked him.

"Let me go. Please let me go" he pleaded.

She slammed her hand on the dining table. "Why do you keep saying that?!"

She took a small peek inside the dining room. Her eyes widened, "Kwangmin?" she covered from letting a gasp escape.

The woman grabbed Kwangmin by his arm and dragged him back upstairs.

Hyunnie noticed the woman leaving the house. She waited until she was out of sight.

"Are you kidding me? No signal?" she moved her phone up and down hoping to get some sort of signal. "Jebal jebal" she cried.

"Ottoke? What do I do?" the door was obviously locked.

Even Hyunnie herself couldn't believe what she was going to do next.

She covered her hand with her scarf and broke the glass window. She managed to unlock the door. Once she was inside, she started to look around, calling his name on the way, "Kwangmin? Kwangmin? Where are you? Can you hear me?!" she shouted on the top of her lungs.

"Omo" Hyunnie looked at the walls that Kwangmin had previously observed. She immediately noticed Kwangmin in the corner of the room. His hands and feet were tied. Hyunnie tried to untangle the ropes.

"We have to get you out of here" she managed to untie his hands.

"Hyunnie, behind you!" he yelled. He tried to untangle the ropes that were tied around his feet as quick as possible.

"Mwoh?" she quickly turned around and managed to dodge the crazy woman. With all the strength that she had, Hyunnie pushed her into the corner of the vanity table.

Kwangmin successfully untied himself.

"Hurry, let's go!" she grabbed her boyfriend's hand.

They were nearing the stairs.

"Kwangmin, watch ou-" it was too late. The crazy woman stabbed Kwangmin twice in the back. He fell down the stairs with Hyunnie tumbling right behind.

"You crazy woman!" without caring whether she was holding onto a knife or not, Hyunnie pushed her towards the wall and continuously banged her head against the wall until she out. She searched through the woman's pockets and managed to retreive her cell phone. She made a quick call to the police station.

She quickly turned around to see her boyfriend laying almost lifeless by the stairwell.

"Kwangmin-ah" she quickly approached him. She held onto him. "The cops will come and get us. Don't fall asleep" she said to him, tears fell down her cheeks.

"Hyunnie-yah. .mi-mian" he tried to say. It was getting difficult for him to breathe.

"Keep talking to me, Kwangmin-ah, don't go to sleep. Araso?" she said.

"I.. I'm so.. I-"

"Jo Kwangmin, don't fall asleep! Do you hear me? Ileona. Ileona" she shook him. The sounds of sirens were nearing them. The girl was still lying there, unconscious from Hyunnie's heavy blow to her head.

"Kw-Kwangmin-ah, please" those were the last words that she uttered before her eyes became heavy.

She exhaled loudly, "Kwangmin!" she yelled.

"Hyunnie-yah" her brother got up from his seat. "Gwenchana?"

"Oppa, I had a horrible dream. I dreamed that Kwangmin got kidnapped and then I fought with this crazy woman. And then, oppa, it was just horrible. Kwangmin was lying there, bleeding. And I" she stopped, "Geonil oppa, what's wrong?" she looked at

"Hyunnie-yah, it wasn't a dream" her brother quietly said.

"What?"

"The police officers found you and Kwangmin at an old house-" he tried to explain. "The mysterious woman turned out to be a 26 year old College Student named Choi Gina who has been expelled. She's suffering from a mental disorder and has been unemployed for a little over half a year due to her disorder"

"Where's Kwangmin?" she wanted to know.

"About that. ." he was quiet.

"Wae? Oppa, tell me. Where's Kwangmin?"

"He lost too much blood on the way. .He's gone Hyunnie-yah"

"I want to see him"

"You're not in the conditio-" Geonil tried to say but she stopped him with,

"At least let me see him for the last time!!" she shouted.

As his sister wished, Geonil took Hyunnie to Kwangmin's funeral site.

Kwangmin's photo was staring back at her. Youngmin and his parents were standing near the closed casket. They bowed to those individuals who came to pay their respects.

Tears uncontrollably strolled down her cheeks. She slowly neared the family and Kwangmin's casket. "You promised me. You said you won't leave me behind. Jo Kwangmin, you lied to me" she continued, "you said we were going to open a coffee shop together. You said that we would open a bakery shop. Why did you leave me?" by then she was already on her knees, crying her heart out.

"I'm sorry for leaving you. I'm sorry for breaking my promise. Mianhae, Hyunnie-yah"
