Chapter 16 – Aiden

(Aiden’s POV)

I woke to someone shaking my shoulders, “Aiden wake up” I knew this voice, it was Kiseop hyung

“Ten more minutes hyung”

“There is someone here to see you”

“Eh...” I lifted myself up from the bed and sat on my knees rubbing my eyes. After blinking a few times I finally look at the clock, ‘6:03 am’ it read, I turn my head slowly and glare at Kiseop “Why are you waking me at this horrible hour…” I asked, clearly pissed off on the inside

“Like I said, someone is here to see you” he said clearly annoyed, “Now come on!” next thing I knew I was lifted into the air and was now being carried away from the bed

“H-Hey! Put me down this instant!!” I yelled, I didn’t give a damn who I woke up, I hate being carried; and of course Kiseop ignores me

“I hate being picked up!! AHHHHHH!” I screamed when he jumped the rest of the stairs and I held onto my hyung’s waist, scared out of my mind.

I was shaking when Kiseop set me down and laughed, I punched him and calmed down slowly, “Go to the kitchen…” he said walking off, I bet to be with his boyfriend.

I sighed and walked into the kitchen; I looked at the floor and rubbed the back on my neck “Stupid Kiseop…” I muttered, lifting my head. Once I saw someone else in the room I stop then tense up, Hyungshik was in the dorm….

In my BROTHER’S dorm!!

“H-hyungshik?”

“A-ah Aiden-ah”

“What are you doing here? How’d you know I lived here?”

“I-I came to pick you up….and H-Heechul hyung gave me your address”

“Oh…are you hungry? I can make us something…that is if yo-”

“That’s what I came for, I wanted to take you out to breakfast, i-if you want too…” he hung his head embarrassed.

“I’d love to; just give me a minute ad we can go, Arasso?”

“Of course, I’ll wait outside”

“Okay” the two of us shared a look and smiled, I quickly went up to change while he waited outside.

A few minutes along with ‘Have fun’ and ‘You have explaining to do tonight’ I was out with Hyungshik and we were now walking down the street.

I look at the sky, deep down inside I felt as if I was with Matthew again, I don’t know why but it feels like he’s next to me when it’s really Hyungshik, “din?” I looked at my ‘boyfriend’ to find him looking at me

“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?” he nods

“Sure thing, I asked ‘Is there something you are craving for?’”

“I’m fine with anything, I don’t have anything specific in mind” he smiled and slowly took my hand in his and gave a slight squeeze, I smiled shyly and watched the ground.

It wasn’t long before we walked into a small dinner, I looked around and saw some business people sitting and chatting while having their coffee and breakfast.

Hyungshik brought me into a booth and sat across from me, “So, since we are going to be together, do you want to ask me anything?”

“Sure” I said and thought for a while, “How old are you?” he chuckled

“I’m eighteen, and you?”

“Seventeen”

“Wow”

“What?”

“You act mature, I expected you to be eighteen going on nineteen” I smiled, no one has said that me me yet, “How long have you been dancing?”

“For about three years now”

“That’s cool”

“Not really, being an Idol is better I bet”

“A little, it’s stressful, but you soon get over it” I nodded as the waiter came and asked us what to drink

“One water, and for you Aiden”

“I’ll have some orange juice please” the waiter nodded and gave us our menu’s

“So what classes do you have that I am in as well?”

“Only gym” he said, looking at me “The first day when you showed your climbing abilities I thought it was cool that you weren’t afraid of falling, although Siwon was praying that you didn’t fall. If you did we would have caught you” I smiled and laughed softly.

“I can believe that”

“I want to introduce you to my friends, but a fair warning; one of them is a total diva”

“I’ve met one already, Heechul hyung”

“Okay” when the waiter came back he took our orders and left again. I place my chin in my hand and listen to the song playing

“Hey I know this song…” I said quietly, “Naega ga dalryeoga dojeoneun, neul jeulgeopda. Hajiman sesangeun manmanhaji, anhatda~ Amigo~”

“My friends sang this song, their amazing”

“Oh really”

“Yeah, we’re gonna see them today” at this my eyes widened

“R-Really?? You’re serious?”

“I am” I smiled, soon our food came and my smile never left,

“Omo American style~” I whispered and ate the pancakes first and hummed.

“You like it?”

“Ne~” I sounded like a child, but I didn’t care; I was happy.

After eating we walked hand and hand to the school but soon departed, “See you later my little angel” I looked at him and he places a kiss on my head, “bye” he says and walks off leaving me standing in the hallway. I don’t know how long I have been standing there but I hope the bell doesn’t ring soon.

“din…AIDEN?!” I heard Eunhyuk’s voice; I turn to find him staring at me

“Eh?”

“Come on class is about to start!” he yelled grabbing my hand and ran.

Once in the class room we sat side by side, I looked at him and noticed that his hair wasn’t blonde anymore, it was brown, “Wow…”

“What? You like it?” he asked playing with his locks

“It looks good on you”

“Thanks! I hope Donghae loves it”

“He will so love it” I said, smiling.

“So how are you and Hyungshik?”

“W-We’re good…he took me to breakfast”

“Sounds nice, we should go on a double date”

“E-EH?!” I exclaimed looking at him

“Wouldn’t that be fun?”

“I-I don’t know…” I whispered

“Have you ever been on a date before?” I shook my head “Not even with your ex?!”

“Aniyo…”

“Damn, we are so taking you guys out, maybe a group date”

“Y-Yeah…” I muttered. I was grateful for the teacher coming in, halting our conversation.

The next class was pure torture Hae, Kyu, and the bunny teased me, and I was very annoyed by now; but I got over it because that’s what friends do, I smile.

At lunch Hyungshik came and took me to another part of the school, after seeing some people with instruments I assumed this was the music department, “Hyungshik where are we going?”

“Too meet up with my friends”

“Ahh…” I said, he brought me into a room where music was playing and I saw the five boys dancing to ‘Sherlock’ the newest song by ‘SHINee’ I stared in awe.

“Key, Onew, Jonghyun, Taemin, and Minho; look who I brought!” Hyungsik announced holding up our interlaced hands, one of the boys stopped and looked at us, I noticed that his hair was longer than mine…

He walked up to us and I saw that we had all black workout clothes along with a white beanie

“Hyungsik! Who’s this? Wait is it that boy who performed on Monday??”

“Indeed Taemin” I looked at the boy ‘Taemin’ and smiled, he was adorable

“Hi, I’m Taemin. The maknae on the group” he smiled and held out his hand

“I’m Aiden, maknae of my group back home, but everyone likes to call me the leader…” I shrugged

“That is so cool!” he exclaimed as we shook hands, behind him was a boy with black hair, I stared up at him

“What’s wrong?” Taemin asks and looks back and laughs, “It’s just Minho, and he won’t hurt you; I promise” I nodded and held out my hand

“Hi, I’m Aiden” the boy smiled and took my hand in his

“Minho, nice to finally met you; now Hyungsik can shut up about this ‘Mysterious boy’ finally” I laughed and saw that Hyungsik was blushing madly.

A feminine looking boy walked up to me then circled, making a 360’ degree look at me, I looked into his eyes when he stopped in front of me them smiled

“I’m Kibum, but call me Umma Key”

“O-Okay” I stuttered “I’m A-Aiden” Key hugged me cooing ‘You’re so cute!’

 ”Okay Key I think you should let him down before Hyungsik kills you” a boy with brown hair stated

“Shut it Dino…” Key hissed, and without looking I could tell Hyungsik was watching me

“Anyways, I am Jonghyun. Dino is a name Key came up with long ago…”

“Kim Aiden” I held out my hand and shook hands with him.

“And that guy over there is Onew; right now he is munching on fried chicken” my eyes widened

“F-Fried c-chicken??” I asked

“Yeah, you like it too?” I nodded

“But not crazy like him right?” Key asked pulling away

“Ne, I’m not crazy” I smiled reassuring them.

“Anyways I was wondering if you guys wanted to eat with us”

“Sure! Let us pack up” Taemin exclaimed and ran off with Minho to get their things.

“I’ll wait outside, seems that someone want to talk to you” I whispered to Hyungsik, whom looked and saw Jonghyun and Key staring at him, he nodded and I walked out into the hall.

Once the door was closed I took a step forward and was knocked over “Ahh my head” I hissed turning to my side

“Aiden?” I heard Dongho’s voice; he helps me stand up and checks my forehead that I bet is red…

I looked into his eyes and saw that he was worry, “I’m sorry Aiden, I wasn’t looking”

“Aniyo, it’s okay”

“A-Are you here with Hyungsik?” he asked

“Ah yea…” I said he looked at the ground, “H-Hyung why are you here?”

“I have to report to my teacher before I go”

“Where?”

“Recording or my movie”

“Ahh that’s right!” I exclaimed

“Yeah, well I don’t want to hold you up; see you at home?”

“Yeah, I’ll see you at home” I said, he hugs me tightly, “Did you miss me that much Hyung?” I joked but his grip tightened, I hugged back.

“Sorry for not riding the bus with you, I will tomorrow; I promise” he let go and smiled at me

“Okay, I’ll hold you to it” I nodded and he walked off, I watched him until I heard the door open and the SHINee group and Hyungsik came out

“Ready?”

“Ne” I said.

Hyungsik took my hand and led me to the café with the five members following, chatting away.

While walking my mind went back to Dongho, the look in his eyes was hidden; usually I could read his eyes but this time around I couldn’t…I should talk to him tonight…

I came back to reality when I was pulled by Key and sat next to him and Taemin while the four others sat on the other side “Eh? Key why are you doing this?” Minho asked glaring at the feminine boy to my left

“Because, all the ‘girls’ sit on this sit” I blushed madly

“Like always Umma Key” Taemin muttered blowing on his bangs

“So as the ‘men’ of the relationship you must be gentlemen and get us food”

“Alright, I know the drill, come on guys” Jonghyun said pulling Hyungsik and Minho along. I looked at Key then Taemin, “Wait your with Minho and you” turning back to Key “Are with Jonghyun?”

“Yeah” they said in union, I just nod

“So how is Hyungsik?” Key asked

“Huh?”

“Kissing wise” he continued

“E-EH?!” I nearly fell back in my seat but Taemin caught me “K-Kissing?? W-we haven’t done such a thing!”

“Calm down Aiden” Taemin rubbed my back and I soon calmed down.

After a while the boys returned with food and I bowed my head and smiled, “Thank you Hyungsik”

“No problem Aiden” and the two of us began to eat.

The rest of the school day went by fast, in the end Hyungsik ended up walking me home, holding my hand the whole way there, I watched the sky darken slowly “Aiden?” I look at Hyungsik

“Ne?”

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah, just thinking”

“Oh okay” he smiled at me, what I said wasn’t a lie.

Every time Hyungsik held my hand or did something sweet, my heart didn’t flutter like in most books say; my heart never increased speed…

I noticed that we stopped and I lift my head to see that I was home, “Thanks for walking me home”

“My pleasure; also let me know when you’re ready for a real relationship” he kissed my hand and smiled, I nodded and he left me standing there; I watched him walk until he was out of sight.

I look at my hand, “Wasn’t I suppose to blush?” I wondered out loud, “I need to talk to Kevin hyung…” I said walking into the dorm, kicking off my shoes.

Not wanting to tell anyone I’m home yet I decide to sit on the couch, after a while I put my feet over the back of the couch and let my head hang upside down, I close my eyes.

“Aiden…?” I hear Soohyun’s voice; I open my eyes to see him drying his hair with a towel “Got out of the bath Hyung?”

“Ne, what are you doing back? I’d assume you’d be with your boyfriend”

“He’s…not really my boyfriend….Hyung since you’re here, could you hear me out?”

“Sure” he said with a smile and plopped down beside me and patted my leg, “Fire away”

“Okay…after the performance, the very next day I got a note from him. So yesterday when Donghae invited Dongho and me to the party, I found out who the person was, but…I don’t have any feeling to return. Does that make any sense?”

“Let’s see; the boy gave you an letter showing his feeling for you. But when you finally realized who it was, were you disappointed?”

“Aniyo, just surprised…”
“Did you feel anything yesterday?”

“No…”

“How about today?”

“No…not even when he was super sweet to me; I feel that I don’t deserve it…”

“Does he know you have no feelings?”

“I think so, before he left he said ‘let me know when you’re ready for a real relationship’…I don’t want to have him wait…”

“Then you should tell him”

“I don’t want to hurt him…” I looked to see Soohyun nod his head understanding

“It doesn’t have to be now, you can give a few days, weeks and see if you have a change of heart” I nod my head and rub my face.

“I just hope my heart decides fast…”

“Why?”

“Because my birthday will be coming up soon…I don’t want to wait until then”

“Well, I’ll leave you to think. I’ve got to check our schedule” I nodded and sighed when he left the room; minutes, hours go past and soon I close my eyes falling asleep on the couch.

I yawn as I stretch and feel a blanket covering me, I sit up and see that it’s two in the morning, I sigh and walk up to my shared room. I noticed that all the rooms were empty so I assumed everyone was out working most likely, my brother and his friends have such weird hours.

But I guess being an Idol causes that, I open my door and see a sleeping Dongho, I smile softly “I know it was you, I know you can’t hear me but thank you” I whispered and slowly laid on my bed and wrapped into the blanket and fell asleep once again.
