(Navi-Maybe It’s A Dream)

Jade’s POV

I grabbed my suitcase and slumped it down on my bed, opening the cover. I tapped my lip with my finger and scanned the whole place.

First off, bathroom supplies.

I packed my red toothbrush, my Colgate toothpaste, and stuffed them in one plastic container.

Done.

“Clothes.” I exclaimed and headed over to my drawers.

I tossed everything on the floor as I went to find the ones I’d need.

Sweaters, pants, jackets.

“Let’s see… What else?” I asked myself as I looked around.

The Tinker Bell charm bracelet glimmered in my eyes from my bedside table.

“Ahah!” I exclaimed and grabbed it. “Can’t forget my good luck charm.” I smiled to myself as I fastened it around my wrist.

My phone rang and I quickly took it out from my pocket and answered.

“You ready?” Donghae asked me on the other end.

“I’ll be down in a sec.” I grinned, ending the call and grabbing my suitcase with me.

Before closing the front door, I glanced once more at my empty apartment and smiled.

I’ll be back soon enough.I said to myself and closed the door.

I skipped down to the lobby and outside where a black van was waiting for me. From inside, Donghae waved from the window, signaling me to hop in with him and the others. He slid the door open, grabbing my hand and pulling me up to the empty seat beside him.

“Let’s go!” he announced to the driver, giving a ‘thumbs up’.

Within a few hours we arrived at the airport with a bunch of E.L.F.s waiting, holding up banners in their hands. They all started squealing once the guys entered. Everyone had the admiration looks on their faces as Yesung and Siwon shot smiles at them.

Cameras flashed in my eyes, so bad, I winced and went blur for a second. Now I understand why the guys wear sunglasses inside.

I followed from behind, dragging my luggage around, avoiding everyone around me and hoping not to be seen.

Our flight came just in time as we arrived. All of us hopped in, having the sounds of screaming fan-girls disappear from our heads.

I gripped the handle of my luggage tight. There was a certain voice that kept on echoing in my head: Am I doing the right thing?

As the airplane got higher, the queasy feeling came. I couldn’t tell whether it was a good thing, or a bad thing.

But one thing for sure, there was no turning back.

It was a long ride; long enough for me to sleep for three hours. I woke up to see the poor-lit space around me. Everyone was asleep and I had just woken up. Really, why do I have to be awake whenever everyone else is asleep?

I glanced around the place and noticed Shindong and Siwon already asleep right across in their seats, along with Donghae and Eunhyuk. I bit my lower lip and stared out the window and watched as the little clouds flew by, covering the bright moon.

I just don’t understand it. How could I feel so… so… uneasy about this?

Maybe it’s because I haven’t been on the plane for a while. Itold myself and slumped in my seat.

I tried to adjust myself so that I’d be more comfortable, but so far, nothing. I wish I could just go back to sleep so the queasy feeling would stop.

Everyone else was already asleep and I couldn’t help but felt… lonely.

I put my feet up and hugged my knees while letting a deep sigh escape. I ruffled my hair and puffed out my cheeks.

Why do I feel like something’s wrong?

“Yah.” Someone flicked their fingers on my head.

I flinched and crinkled my nose; looking up to see who was the culprit. The only thing I found was a smirking Heechul looking back down at me.

I scowled. “Don’t you have anything better to do?”

He laughed and put his hands in his pockets.

“Grouchy much?” he said, sitting down beside me on the empty seat.

“Just woke up. Sorry.” I replied, scratching my head.

I couldn’t help but notice something.

“Hey, how is it that you’re always awake whenever I’m awake?” I asked. He shrugged. “Don’t you ever sleep on plane rides?”

“Sometimes.” He said, looking away. “But it’s never comfortable.” He pursed his lips. “So what’s wrong with you anyway?” his question took me by surprise.

I turned my head around. “W-What?”

“There goes your stutter.” He laughed. “You never know how to hide your emotions, do you?”

I pursed my lips and glanced away from him.

“Nothing’s wrong.” I finally answered.

“Doesn’t seem like it.” He replied.

It was obvious he didn’t believe me. He was right. I can never hide my emotions.

“I just don’t feel good…” I managed to say, hugging my knees and looking down.

“What do you mean?” he asked as he leaned closer.

“I dunno.” I shook my head. “I feel… terrible.”

He raised a brow.

“Queasy.” I corrected myself.

“What’s to feel queasy about?” he asked with a hint of laughter.

“I have no idea…” I sighed. “Ever since I got on the plane, I feel… I-I just feel…”

I cut myself off by letting out a deep sigh and hugging my knees even tighter to prevent the coldness in the plane.

“Something’s wrong.” I finally spoke. “I don’t know what, but everything’s… wrong.”

“Well, maybe you’re just, I don’t know, surprised?” he said.

“About?”

“ ‘Cause, well, this is your first time travelling somewhere other than your hometown. Maybe you’re just not used to it.” He shrugged.

I nodded at his words.

“Yea, you’re probably right. Thanks…” I smiled weakly.

Then something knocked me completely.

“Hey, I just realized!” I exclaimed, pointing at him. “You dyed your hair black!”

He laughed at my reaction and put my hand down slowly. “You just noticed?”

I shrugged my shoulders and let out an innocent smile.

“Be honest. On a scale of one to ten, does it look good on me?” he asked, looking up at the black bangs that were covering his round eyes.

“Um… Five.” I answered, holding my palm up.

“Five? Ah, waeyo?” he pouted.

“Well I guess I got too used to your blonde hair.” I shrugged playfully.

I continued to chat with Heechul as he, too, couldn’t go to sleep. But after a couple of hours battling each other on StarCraft, he soon drifted off right next to me with the laptop on his lap. Quietly, I took it from him and closed it up; shoving it into his bag.

I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep. But sadly I couldn’t. I opened my eyes back and stared around me.

This is useless. I sighed, sitting up. Obviously I had enough sleep already.

My eyes gazed towards Heechul beside me. He was sound asleep; head leaning towards to his left. I couldn’t believe how stupid I was that I stared at him for a full two minutes.

When I realized it, I leaned back against the window in one swift motion. For some strange reason, my heart started to race. It must be because I’ve never… seen him like this before. Makes me realize how often he’s seen me asleep.
