I'm being held up by a scary looking pirate as the pirates notice me, an uninvited guest on their ship. Scanning the crowd, they all look intimidating. I gulp nervously at the sudden attention.

Then I see him, standing in the front of the crowd.

The perfect body proportions are covered in pirate costumes. His sharp and flawless features make me fangirl inside my mind. His hair is as dark as starless night. His side bangs cover left eyes while the right side is undercut hairstyle revealing a sharp piercing eye. And that eye is staring at me coldly.

His glare is scary but this is him. The man that I always want to meet in real life.

Seonghwa

Oh my god! It's Seonghwa!!!!

Am I really transmigrating into an Ateez fiction?! I can't grasp the idea yet but Seonghwa is literally standing before me.

Unintentionally, I let out an ugly squawk sound.

I quickly shut my mouth.

"She's scared," Someone chuckles in the back but that person is very wrong. Because I'm so happy right now.

"What's the meaning of this? I ordered you to get that girl with a mermaid tear necklace but you come back with an extra." He turns to look at his crewmates. Anger hinting in his voice.

"We follow your order, quartermaster," A man speaks up, "But we didn't know she followed us onto the ship."

Seonghwa's face turns into scowl when listening to the man's explanation.

"I'll deal with you later." He glares at his crews and me.

He then turns to order other crews, "Gunners take down those ships."

Several men respond back with Aye.

After that loud bloom of cannon firing at the ship that I was on a minute ago and the other pirate ship. The other ships fire back but they're no match to Ateez.

My ears have gone deaf for minutes.

Ateez's characters in this faction are truly merciless.

I watch the 2 sinking ships and pray for all characters that are being sacrificed for the sake of story. If I were still in that ship, I would have been dead. My heart knots at the thought of Lily.
This is the fate of a side character, you'll be missed Lily.

Then the quartermaster or Seonghwa strides toward 'Y/N' who is held by a giant pirate.

She's crying and shaking badly but she still manages to look gorgeous.

Well, she's the main protagonist of the story, of course, It makes sense that she looks perfect all the time.

"Let's get into business, shall we?" Seonghwa smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes.

The girl recoils back in fear, avoiding looking at Seonghwa.

"Don't be scared, Miss. We won't hurt you if you give us what we want." He says, a smile from before turns into sinister smirk.

The girl whimpers at his threat.

In this story, 'Y/N' and Ateez don't get along in the beginning but as time passes they'll warm up to each other and fall in love.

But in the first few chapters, the hatred between them is really intense.

Especially the first encounter I'm witnessing right now.

I watch the scene unfold in front of me. Too bad there's no popcorn.
 

"Now, tell me where is the map?" Seonghwa gets straight to the point.

The map that Ateez is seeking is the key for this whole journey. It's the magical map where it leads to Ateez's destination goal, Wonderland. And Y/N happens to own the map.

As you can guess, they're coming after her, including other pirates.

"I don't know." She replies in a weak voice.

"Let me ask you again" He steps closer to her. "Where.is.the.map?" Seonghwa emphasizes each word. His expression darkens.

"I said I don't know!" She shouts through a teary face, looking at him hatefully.

I know she is scared to death. Her appearance might be fragile but her personality is actually stubborn and unyielding.

"Filthy pirate let go off me!" She shouts while trying to pry the hands of a giant pirate out of her. But the pirate doesn't even budge.

Snicker could be heard coming from the crews.

"Filthy huh?" His smirk turns more sinister, "Seems like you don't want us to do things in civil."

He pauses for a moment, eyes flicker from the flame of the nearby torch.

"Let us do things in a pirate way then." After his sentence, loud roars echo throughout the ship.
 

"Seonghwa, don't be rude to our guest." A velvet voice blooming at the back of the crowd.

The crews suddenly turn quiet and everyone separates ways for him to walk.

My heart clenches in anticipation.

Then a man emerges out of darkness. Every step he takes holds so much power. He's like the undefeatable last big boss. His mullet sways in the night breeze. A sly grin prints on his handsome face.

He walks past Seonghwa and stops in front of 'Y/N'.

"Captain Hongjoong, at your service." Hongjoong grins wider. He looks at a shocking 'Y/N' and me.

My heart stops beating and I die internally.

My goshh!! it's Hongjoong!!

I have an internal battle to not fangirl right here right now. But I accidentally let out a small squeak again.

Luckily, no one heard me.

I can't manage to slip out of character again. I need to look fearful in this situation, not with dreamy looks in my eyes.

Back to the scene 'Y/N'  froze in place. Her face pale like she's about to pass out any second. Because she has heard from the rumor that Ateez's captain is a demon disguised in human body. No one who offends him ends up alive.

"Apologize for my crews' rudeness, ladies." He apologizes, but it sounds like mockery.

"Now let's make things easy. You tell me where the damn map is and I'll let you go in one piece. How's that sound?" His eyes glinting playfully but the threat in his voice is clear.

But the girl remains quiet, her lips pressing into thin line.

"I don't have time all day, milady." He's staring at the girl. But she only turns her face to the side, not looking at him. 

The air between them is really tense.

A minute passes but the girl never utters a single word.

Hongjoong chuckles deeply, "You leave me no choice. Don't call me heartless." He signals the giant pirate who is holding 'Y/N'. The man pulls out a cutlass and hand it to Hongjoong.

"You know how many souls this cutlass devour." He plays with the cutlass in his hand and points it at the girl's face.

OK. Now I start to feel terrified of him even though no matter how hot he looks right now.

I gotta say that Ateez in this story are ruthless. They're the pirate king feared by all. They don't play around. If they lay an eye on something, they always get what they want. And they don't care about the method to get them.

Y/N girly I'll pray for you.

Once you are a goner, I'll be the new protagonist.

"I already sold it." She finally speaks, eyeing the cutlass that is holding too close to her face.

"To who?" His brow raises, surprised at the information.

"I don't know. I just want to sell that cursed map." She says in a weak voice.

Hongjoong let out a sneer and hand the cutlass to the giant pirate. Seems like he's doing his best to hold in anger.

"Speak!" The giant pirate presses the cutlass against Y/N neck.

Y/N scream when the weapon touches her neck.

"I...I didn't see their faces," she cries out again, "I just ..just traded the map."

"Do you think I'm believing your lies?" Hongjoong drops his grin, not satisfied with the answer.

"I speak the truth, I don't know anything about them." The girl is now a crying mess.

But I don't pity her though because she knows the identity of the buyer. She'll confess to Ateez soon.

"I'll give you one last chance." He steps closer to 'Y/N', leaning his back down to her eye level "Speak" His voice is low and dangerous.

But the girl's only shaking in fear, not answering his question.

"Useless!" Hongjoong shouts in her face, making the girl shriek. Anger clearly shows on his face.

"Do whatever you want Seonghwa." He says to his quartermaster and turns around to leave.

"Aye, captain." Seonghwa responds, his eyes glowing like a predator while looking into our way.

"Throw them into the sea." He orders.

A man who holds me dragging me toward the rail.

Wait, Why include me? I didn't do anything.

I'm so confused right now. When's Y/N going to confess, isn't it time already? I try to recall the original fiction. But the girl only screams, cries, and get dragged away easily. Not saying anything.

That's it. I'm not dying with you.

I escaped death from the first chapter but I'm not going to die in the next chapter.

I wreck my brain trying to think of a way out.

"I know where the map is!"
