Chapter 54 - Competition

Star Illusion | ATEEZ Pirate AU

“STARRRRRR!!!!!”

Screaming on top of his lungs, Wooyoung helplessly watches Star fall into the raging ocean.

His lips are quivering, not from the chilly rain, but the cold reality that thunder across his consciousness. Those who fall out of the ship during storms are forever gone.

He just lost his friend. He lost her in a flick of an eye. If he’d climbed down faster, she wouldn’t...

Dismissing all those horrible thoughts away, his grips loosen, before he lets go of the shroud, another figure leaps into the water where Star has fallen into.

Even with a blurred vision, he recognized his mate. If it's that guy, she’ll be safe. Wooyoung affirms himself.

Wooyoung rapidly climbs down. The longer he stays up here, the higher chance he’ll fall down to his death. Harsh wind almost rips the sails and tangles rigging. The masts dangerously creak as if they will snap any minute.

As soon as Wooyoung steps onto the deck, he meets with the chaos. Giant waves crash onto the ship causing unfortunate crews to lose their footing and roll on the floor. Wooyoung stumbles to the ground but swiftly rises to his feet. He ties a rope around his waist. Then he grabs whoever is near him to relay the bad news to captain.

“Batten down the hatches!” From the distance he hears Hongjoong barking a series of orders.

The crews hurriedly carry out the command. Some stow the sails. Some gunners secure cannons before they roll around and crush men to death. All of them are occupied to maintain the ship. Still, they aren’t able to win against mother nature as the ship tilts to the side dangerously. The continuous waves quickly fill the ship with water.

The only way to survive the storm is to out sail it, however, they can’t leave Star and San here.

Wooyoung curses, eyeing at the vicious sea. What will captain do?

“Wooyoung!”

Someone shouts his name through the storm. He turns around and spots Jongho staggering toward him.

“Star!! She...” The boatswain’s eyes are wide with shock. On the forecastle he witnessed her fall. He immediately ordered his subordinates to cover for him as he grabbed the rope tied with a plank and ran toward Wooyoung.

“!” Wooyoung drops his head low and kicks his leg against the rail.

“She’ll make it!” Jongho squeezes on Wooyoung’s shoulder and stares into the wrathful sea. He knows wholeheartedly that it was a lie. He had lost many subordinates to the tides.

“Where is she?!!”

Not long after, a furious growl belonging to the pirate king pierce their ears. He charges toward Wooyoung and Jongho. His dark expression can rival the stormy sea.

Wooyoung points where Star and San disappeared into. Hongjoong follows the sight, his fists visibly shaking.

“Lower the anchor!” Hongjoong shouts toward the boatswain.

“It was done sir!” Jongho answered. He had already ordered the crew beforehand, knowing that captain would rescue his lover no matter what.

However, the anchor doesn't reach the seabed as they’re in high sea, the furious waves slam into the hull causing the ship to drift away from the spot where Star disappeared.

Hongjoong nods and glares into the pitch black water. He climbs over the rail, however, his crew immediately stops him from jumping.

“Captain!!” They yell and yank Hongjoong down.

“We can’t lose you too!” Jongho shouts, his eyes turning red.

Hongjoong curses loudly. He clutches on the rail, digging his nails into the wood.

The two witness their captain’s condition and fail to utter any words. They aren’t used to reckless Hongjoong. Their king always composed and came up with brilliant schemes in any severe situation. They’re all lost of what to do.

Thus both are turning their heads to find a person who can think rationally in this situation. However the quartermaster is busily steering the wheel with another helmsman. Seonghwa grits his teeth as he’s doing his best to point the bow toward the waves to prevent the ship from capsizing, or else she’d sink in less than a minute. His expression is even darker than Hongjoong.

Wooyoung and Jongho have no choice but to hold captain from doing something reckless.

The others arrive at the scene. They are all speechless by Hongjoong’s disarranged state. Rain continues to pour down on those fiery souls that are awaiting for the seeress.

“There!!” Wooyoung shouts when he sees 2 figures emerge from the water.

As if on cue, Jongho throws a plank toward their direction. San grabs it with one hand and another carries unconscious Star. The other crews vigorously pull them toward the ship.

Once San boards the ship, he lays Star down on the floor. Then he slumps next to her, brushing wet hair out of her face. The surgeon immediately settles down right next to Star, observing her condition.

The seer’s body is ghostly pale, her lips turn purple, and her eyes shut as if they won’t open ever again.

The ship turns silent. No one knows when the storm dies down and the sea turns still, not even a slight breeze blowing.

Yeosang places a finger before her nostrils and then presses against her neck. He bites his lower lip hard and looks at Hongjoong. Sheen tears cover his doe eyes.

“How is she?” Hongjoong asks with a heavy tone.

“She’s not breathing.” Yeosang’s voice crack.

“Do your job, surgeon. Retrieve her.” Hongjoong coldly states.

Yeosang nods and presses on Star’s abdomen for several seconds but her body doesn’t react. Then he moves toward her head. His hand extends to pinch her nose. However a hand smacks his hand away.

“San this is not a time for your stubbornness.” Yeosang hissed angrily.

“I’ll do it.” Wet fringe covers the combatant’s face, he doesn’t look at the surgeon but the unconscious girl. San ignores Yeosang’s protest and places his fingers between Star’s nose, his other hand presses on her left chest. His mouth connects to hers, then he applies air into her lungs.

“San!” Hongjoong strides forward to take the combatant away but he’s stopped by none other than Seonghwa.

“Don’t make a scene here. Your crew are watching.” Seonghwa says in a hushed tone. Pirate king is not supposed to show his weakness in front of the whole crew.

Veins visible on Hongjoong’s temple as he grabs Seonghwa's collar. “Don’t teach me what to do.”

“You two, please, not here.” Yunho intervenes between them. He understands the duo’s temperament. If he doesn’t step in they’ll surely make a scene. Hongjoong glares at Seonghwa for one last time and whips his head toward the disturbing scene.

A slight scowl displays on Seonghwa’s face, he nods at the navigator. Yunho sighs as a response and refocuses at Polaris with a heavy heart.

The crew start to form into a circle around Star. They watch San perform resuscitation quietly. Here comes a day where the combatant saves life instead of taking life.

Wooyoung stares at the back of his friend with mixed feelings. He’s glad that Star is safe on the ship but at the same time he realizes how the girl has an effect on their lives.

He never witnessed San giving his all to save anyone. The downcast surgeon sitting right next to Star is the rarest sight. He’d be gloomy when he failed to save someone but not to this extent. Then he averts his gaze to the furious Hongjoong and the irritated Seonghwa. Captain apparently lost his demeanor. Next to them, Yunho clasps his hands together and starts praying. Standing beside Wooyoung, Jongho’s eyes haven’t turned into their normal size. And Mingi surprisingly doesn't act like an idiot but stands still, watching Star intently.

Stupid girl, how could she think that his crew don’t love her?

Several minutes passed. It’s clear that they’re losing hope, but San never intend to stop.

“San, stop. She won’t come back.” Yeosang weakly says, tears already spilled out of his eyes.

Hongjoong closes his eyes and turns his face upward towards the grey sky. A dry chuckle leaves his lips. “The sea always took them away from me.”

Seonghwa from beside him knits his brows. At this moment captain isn't able to think straight after losing his precious treasure. He doesn’t comfort Hongjoong either, knowing that a guy like him needs none of empty words.

“All of you go back to work.” Seonghwa shouts to disperse the crowd.

Then he advances toward the surgeon’s apprentice and snatches a blanket from his hold. He hands the blanket to Yeosang.

“Thanks.” Yeosang wipes tears by the back of his hand and takes it from Seonghwa. He gently spread the blanket on Star’s body.

“San, she’s gone.” Seonghwa crouches down next to San and squeeze his shoulder. But the younger boy refused to listen to him.

Wooyoung falls down to the floor, burying his head in his hands. It was his fault. If he warned her sooner, if he took care of her, she wouldn't die so tragically.

Meanwhile Mingi lowers his head down for quite a while. Both Yunho and Jongho start to worry. They want to comfort him too but the news also breaks their hearts.

“She'll be reborn as Polaris.” Yunho mutters, trying to smile.

“Aye, she’ll be the most beautiful star.” Jongho quietly wipes his tears. It’s been a long time since he shed tears.

They all prepare for her departure but they didn’t expect that death would take her away.

Suddenly San bolts right up. The others startle by his action.

They hear a painful cough from the motionless body. Star arches her body as she coughs out water and breath in air.

All eighth of them immediately surround Star. Her eyes flutter open and she scans the face around her in confusion.

“She’s alive!” Mingi shouts out loud and hugs the nearest person which is Jongho. This time the latter guy doesn’t push the giant male away and hug him back.

“Yes she’s alive.”

Relieve flood them. Their defeated expression is replaced by a joyous one.

Hongjoong instantly crouches down and holds Star’s hand.

“Star, can you hear me?” Hongjoong asks in a shaking voice. However, she doesn’t respond to him as her unfocused eyes wander around.

“T-here...in w-water. M-monster.” She mumbles an incoherent sentence and passes out.

Panic written across their faces. They all turn to the surgeon. Yeosang affirms to them that she is only faint. So they are able to release a relief exhale.

“It could be some creatures.” Yunho murmurs, musing over the message Star told them.

“San did you see something unusual down there?” Hongjoong asks.

“No.” San answered curtly.

“It could be any sea monster. We might stumble in its territory.” Hongjoong eyes Jongho. “We better leave now.”

“Aye, captain.” The boatswain left for his station once he received Hongjoong’s order.

“I’ll take her to the sickbay.” Yeosang lifts Star up before San could. “Wooyoung, go get Miss Aurora to change Star’s clothes.”

Wooyoung snaps out of his trance and scurry away as Yeosang’s comment.

Hongjoong stares at Star until she disappears below deck. Then he averts his gaze to San.

“Thanks for saving her.” Hongjoong says. A sincere expression appears on his face. The other crew couldn’t believe their eyes as their cruel captain can show humane emotion.

San peers at Hongjoong and nods. Before he walks away, Hongjoong stops him with his arm and whispers into San’s ear.

“Whatever thought you have toward her, you better forget it.” His tone is low and threatening. A total opposite of the sincerity he showed a moment ago.

“You can’t control me, captain.” A corner of San’s lip tug upward into a devilish smirk.

“You can never win against me.” Hongjoong’s mouth also curves into a sly grin.

The others watch their interaction with a throbbing headache. The war between captain and the combatant starts now.

---

Voices, I hear loud voices like a group of people arguing.

So annoying, let me sleep in peace.

I pick a pillow below my head and throw it to the direction of the sound. The voice immediately dies down. However, I hear a familiar nerve-wrecking snicker.

“Look like she isn’t that sick after all.”

Even in my fuzzy state, I know that mean sentence is directed at me. I crack one eye open and see several faces peering down at me.

As if my soul travels out of my body, I’m mesmerized by their handsome faces.

“I-is this heaven or hell?” In my daze, I speak whatever is on my mind. My voice is so hoarse I barely recognize as my own.

“Hell.” One of them speaks. A hottie with a side bang stares passionately at me from the end of my bed.

“Don’t listen to him, you’re back on the ship.” An angelic looking guy who stands nearest to me gives me a warm smile.

“I guess it’s heaven.” I murmur and let out a fist of giggles.

A loud cough drew my attention. Next to him, stand a shorter man that makes my heart skip a beat at the sight of him. He has sharp hazel eyes that are ready to burn me alive.

Oh that’s Hongjoong, my love-

The dreadful memory rushes through my mind, I shudder as I remember how I drown in the stormy sea.

Oh goshhhh!! I fell overboard! But I’m not dead. And most importantly I’m still stuck in this realm with pirate Ateez.

“You’re cold?” Hongjoong sits on my bed and places the pillow below my head. Then he orders Yeosang to wrap a thick blanket around me although there’re already several blankets on me.

“No, I’m fine, just a little...shock.” I give him a small smile. I’m glad that I’m able to wake up and see him for another day.

“You sure?” Hongjoong raises his brow, slight concern in his eyes.

“Um.” I nod. A warmth feeling surges inside my chest as I can feel his care.

“How did I get back to the ship?” My body was dragged down by the current. Did someone jump after me?

“San saved you.” Hongjoong answers, his voice slightly hardened.

My gaze spots a man leaning against the wall a little far away from my bed. Heavy emotions sit on my chest. He always rescued me whenever I was in danger. But all I do is break his heart.

“Thank you, San.”

He nods in return. His face is void of emotion yet some reason my face flares. We hold each other's gaze until Hongjoong clears his throat.

“My little treasure, were you trying to escape from me?” He asks me out of blue.

“Huh?” My mouth agape at his strange question.

“Your little treasure must be so stupid to escape in the devil’s triangle.” Seonghwa sarcastically commented.

Oh how I miss his remark. I shoot daggers toward Seonghwa even though it wouldn't penetrate his thick skin.

Hongjoong, instead of defending me, chuckles lightly. “Aye, she must be stupid for leaving me, don’t you agree, San?”

The air turns awkward once Hongjoong brings San into conversation.

San quietly stares at Hongjoong. His mouth slowly stretches into a smirk while Hongjoong returns him with a signature sly grin.

I dumbfoundedly glance between the two men. Then I realize an underlying meaning from Hongjoong’s question. He really thinks I’ll change my mind to San. What made him think that?

Did they fight when I passed out? Oh my god! The great Hongjoong and San fight because of me. Never in my life I imagined this day to come.

“Guys, I wasn’t escaping. I went to ask for Wonderland direction from the fishes.” My silly jest works as they divert their attention to me.

At the corner of my eyes, Seonghwa ties his eyebrows into a bow, glaring at me and grumbles something like ‘stupid’ under his breath.

“I know you wouldn’t leave me.” Hongjoong smiles a little too wide. I glimpse at San to see his reaction. To my relief, he looks unbothered by Hongjoong’s comment.

“You said you saw a monster in the water. So what did it say to you?” Hongjoong changed topic all of the sudden.

Heck! I remember I really did see a monster.

“Oh my god! There was a green eyed monster down there!” I touch all over my body to see that all my limbs are attached to the body.

“Perhaps, it was your own reflection.” Seonghwa mutters, rolling his eyes at my overreaction.

I scoff, “If I saw my own face, my eyes would be blessed.”

Seonghwa opens his mouth to retort, however, Yeosang cuts him off.

“Alright, now that Star woke up, you guys should leave and let her rest.” Yeosang acts like a real rational adult here. “You can ask her about the monster later. Don’t stress my patient.”

“Right, we should leave. Don’t worry my treasure, you’re safe under my protection.” Hongjoong continues flashing me smiles. When does he become this cheesy?

“By the way Miss clumsy, you’re not allowed in the crow’s nest. And don’t try to get yourself killed. You won’t be lucky for the second time.” Before leaving, Seonghwa doesn’t forget to rebuke me.

“Aye, sir.” I sarcastically responded. Seonghwa gave me a new name. What an honor!

“Rest well.” Hongjoong says, shaking his head because of the quarrel between quartermaster and I while patting my head.

What comes next is not what I expect him to do such outrageous things in front of his crew.

He leans closer and pecks on my lips.

I stare at Hongjoong’s mischievous expression with wide eyes. Seonghwa doesn’t hide his disgust and turn away from us. His ears slightly red. Yeosang, on the other hand, is calm and collected.

However, the person I’m worried the most is San. His smirk drops for a second before it returns into a full sinister grin as if he is thinking of a counter-plan.

Oh lord, these men will be the death of me. This isn’t just a thirsty comment but a real death.

I hit Hongjoong in the arm and cover my face with blankets.

“Don’t be shy. You’ll get used to it soon.” Hongjoong chuckles in his throat. He gets up as the weight on my bed disappears. “And my crew will get used to it too.”

“No!” I shout. Cursing him inside my mind, I don’t need a messy love life to make my life more complicated.

I listen to all footsteps disappear from the room. Then I slowly peak out of my blanket.

“So embarrassing.” I wail. That was his scheming I’m sure of it. That man is so crafty. If San didn’t tell me, then I’d still be a stupid girl who blindly like him.

“He’s not a kind of person who acts impulsively. He set his eyes on you so what can we do.” Yeosang sighs. “Seeing their fighting spirit made me feel defeated.” He sits next to my bed, staring softly at me. “But I’m just a weak surgeon, I can’t compete with them, can I?” The last sentence came out like he was talking to himself.

“But it’s not a competition.” I pout. Can’t I just have a normal love life instead of a mind game they’re playing.

“Perhaps, I should’ve tried.” He smiles bitterly. “But my priority is your happiness. Whatever you choose I’m happy for you.”

“Yeosang...I’m sorry.” This is the worst day of my life. I died and resurrected to break another good man’s heart.

“Don’t be. I told you we can’t control our feelings.” He shakes his head. “And promise me that you’ll never be reckless again.”

“I'll try.” A trouble attractor like me can’t promise him anything. And he probably knows that too.

Then Yeosang hands me a cup of green terror. “Drink it before you go back to sleep.”

“First of all, stop hurting me with this.” I play with the medicine, earning him a snort. Since I don’t wanna try to provoke Yeosang further, I gulp down the whole content and try not to gag in front of him.

“By the way, who changed my clothes?” I peer down at the white linen shirt on me.

“Aurora. But if you want me to take responsibility, then I won’t mind.”

“Yeosang, you’re better at joking.” I stare at him in disbelief. Someone must’ve abducted the angel and the devil replaced him.

“I guess.” He shrugs coolly. After joking with me, he blows off the candle for me to sleep.

---

I feel like a dejavu. Loud noises interrupt my sleep again.

“Shush, she’s waking up.”

“Because you lot are too loud!”

“You are the loudest one Mingi.”

“Ughhhhh” I groan and groggily rub my eyes. “You guys are so noisy.”

I open my eyes and spot several familiar faces.

“Shooting Star!!”

A giant man hovers above me and disappears from my line of sight as the others shove him away.

“How many times do I have to tell you to stop acting like an unruly swine!?” Jongho scolds the taller man.

“Sorry that you have to witness them when you wake up.” Yunho helps me up and I mumble thanks to him.

I look at the bickering duo, and giggles leave my lips. My eyes scan for the other members inside the room. I spot Yeosang sits on his working deck sorting out herbs. He feels my gaze and offers me a soft smile. Then I see a man sleep on another bed. Faded purple hair peek from the blanket so I know it’s the first mate.

“Is he sick?”

“Nah, he just ditched his work.” Yunho scrunches his nose. “Forget him, I have good news for you.” Yunho beams, causing my heart to beat faster. “We are in the middle of the devil's triangle.”

“How?!” I exclaim. It was yesterday that we still lost in the middle of nowhere. And today we’re here. I guess luck really came after my unfortunate events.

“I don’t know either. Last night the sky was clear so I could see the north star.” Yunho responded. “But I’m not able to plot the course to Wonderland cause compasses still broke. So we hope that you’ll receive a prophecy soon.” Yunho pauses when he notices my uneasiness. “No pressure though, we still have almost 3 weeks until the next full moon.”

That doesn’t sound reassuring at all. Their lives are in my hands.

Jongho and Mingi stop bickering and join our conversation. We continue talking until Yeosang shoo them away as I need to rest. The trio reluctantly leaves the room, except one man who is still sleeping, or pretending to sleep.

He got up as soon as the coast was clear. He signals Yeosang to leave. Heaving a long sigh, Yeosang unwillingly exits sickbay.

Wooyoung invites himself to sit on my bed. He doesn’t speak anything and plays with his fingers.

After a moment of silence, he finally opens his mouth. “I’m sorry.”

“If it was about me falling off the ship then it wasn’t your fault. Anything that happened was my own fault.” I can tell clearly by the way he guiltily looks at me. “I should be the one that says sorry for causing ruckus.”

I heard from Yeosang that the guys were shocked out of their minds when they saw me dead. The thought of dying scared me deeply, but it was like sleeping and waking up. I found it weird that I didn’t have a single dream or my soul didn’t travel back to my world. Whatever the real reason, I don’t want to investigate by dying once again. Or perhaps my mission hasn’t completed yet so I can’t go back to my real world.

“You really are something.” Wooyoung chuckles until his eyes turn into half moon. “Anyway, I think you already found your answer.”

I tilt my head to the side as I don’t recall what was my question.

“It wasn’t just an attraction. They truly love you to risk their lives for you. Meeting you is like a present and a curse. You teach us how to love and break us when you leave. Perhaps I may sound selfish but…” Wooyoung takes in deep breath to say the next sentence. “Please stay.”

I stare blankly at Wooyoung. Lately, he brings many surprises by his smart words.

“Can I jump back into the sea? It’s too complicated.”

“Yahhhhhh!!!” Wooyoung screams and flicks my head at the same time when Yeosang enters the room.

“Yah!!! Wooyoung!! Get away from my patient!!!”

I burst out laughing, watching Yeosang chase Wooyoung out of the room. I ponder over Wooyoung’s speech and feel heavy yet warm that they finally open up to me.

However, no matter what they say this isn’t my place. I don’t belong here. Once they know the truth about me being a fake seeress how will they react?

---

The next day Yeosang dismissed me to reside in my shared cabin with Aurora. When I met her again, she was a crying mess. She kept saying sorry and hugged me. Then she started being quiet throughout the day, staring out of the window. She disappeared in the middle of the night and came back when it was almost dawn.

I asked the members to check on her but she seemed to put her barrier up against the pirates once again. Jongho said that he saw her staring into the sea all night. Her behavior began to creep him up.

I have no idea that my incident would cause her to act this eccentric.

Dear Aurora, how am I supposed to help you?

---

The heat from the pot causes a bead of sweat to roll down her temples. A girl ardently prepares lunch for the Revenge’s crew. She side glances at the back of the cook who is busily cooking meat. The kitchen is void of other crew, except the cook and her.

Her slim hands take out a small bottle from pants pocket. She takes off the lid and pour the content in the soup pot. Murky green liquid instantly turns colorless as soon as it is stirred in the pot.

When she hears an approaching footsteps, she immediately exits the kitchen. On her way out, she crashes into a hard chest. She almost stumbles on the floor meanwhile the other person receives no impact.

“S-sorry.” She lowers her head and tries to walk away. However, a cold hand grabs her shoulder. She looks up and almost loses her breath.

An expressionless combatant stares at a small bottle rolling on the floor. Then he shifts his gaze to look at her. She jolts and hurriedly picks up the bottle.

“I-it was m-my medicine.” She stammers and turns on her heel. However, she crashes into another solid chest.

“Hey, did you intentionally walk into me?” The first mate wiggles his brow at the girl. She squints her eyes at him and scurries away.

Wooyoung chuckles at her reaction. He cranes his neck to observe his mate staring intently at Aurora.

“Mate, your eyes are about to pop off its socket. But I’m proud of you anyway. Now that you know how to appreciate beauties. I’ll give you another lesson.”

San turns to glare at Wooyoung. Before he lands a punch on an annoying first mate, a sweet voice travels into his ears.

“Aurora, where are you going? You’re not eating lunch?”

“No, I’m not hungry. I’ll go back to the room.”

“Wait, you-” Her sentence cut short. Both men can picture her sulking face when her daughter ignores her.

“There comes the mom.” Wooyoung chuckles and nudges San.

The black haired girl strides toward their direction and stops in her tracks when she spots them. “H-hi San.” She awkwardly greets San. Nonetheless the owner of the name doesn’t react at all. However, being his friend for so long, he notices glee in San’s dark orbs.

“I’m also here, aren’t you going to greet me too?” Wooyoung feigns being hurt.

“Why does she have to greet you? You’re not important.” Another voice chimes in. The master gunner stops next to Star, smirking at Wooyoung.

“Tsk, ask Star first between us who is more important.” Wooyoung provokes the taller guy.

“I’m not gonna listen to your stupid bickering so you two better shut up.” A grumpy looking Jongho walks behind Mingi.

“Yes, don’t ever start. If I hear any of you fight, I’ll make you my new compass.” Yunho adds in next. The others wonder how human compass will look like but decide to discard bizarre images from their heads.

These two are obviously in a bad mood which is a really rare sight. When captain learnt that they’re in the inner area of the devil's triangle, he became more impatient. The main reason is because of Star and the crews’ safety. The weather became severely violent and caused damage to the ship. Jongho and his team have to repair her every day.

“You lot are upset because of captain, why are you putting it on me?” Wooyoung scoffs.

“Let’s ignore those idiots and get inside the kitchen.” Yeosang ushers Star into the room. However, she seems to enjoy their bickering show.

“Star and her soldiers.” Wooyoung rolls his eyes. After the incident, his crewmates have been following her everywhere. They are like annoying pests that flock around a beautiful flower. He bet his mate would also be bothered by them. Then he thinks of something good. He circles his arm on San’s shoulder and whispers into his ear.

“Call me the mighty first mate, and I’ll help you get rid of her armies.”

Instead, San elbows him in the gut. Wooyoung painfully clutches his stomach and slides down to the ground. Although the others didn’t hear the conversation, they all snicker at him.

“Serve you right.” They say in unison and enter the kitchen. Only little Star stays with him outside and crouches down next to him.

“Stop feeding San weird stuff or I’ll be the one that ends your career.” Star threatened him while patting San’s dagger at her belt.

Wooyoung turns his head the other way and snorts. She begins to act wickedly like his crew, but she’s still a level too low to challenge him.

“Let’s see who will be the one that perishes first.” Wooyoung smirks mischievously, he grabs Star’s hand to rest on his firm chest. Her face instantly turns beet red as she tries to retrieve her hand back.

“Sannie, little Star is touching me!!” Wooyoung cries in a high pitch tone that the upper deck is likely to hear him.

A hoard of footsteps then storm outside the kitchen. San and the others stare at Star’s hand that is placed above Wooyoung’s chest with an unreadable expression.

A dry laugh escapes the girl’s lips. twists into a rigid smile as she defends herself. “It was nothing, I saw a fly on his chest. Oh there it is!” She points at his cheek, her hand raising high, ready to slap him across the face.

Chapter 87: Okayyy I like that you have an alternate ending for each candidates but honestly speaking I accepted her with Hongjoong hahahahahha because it's kinda weird to read she ended with someone else when the whole story has hinted she fell hard for Hongjoong XD but oh well it's for good cause! We're just missing San's ending but it doesn't matter I guess heheh

Anyways as a reader (you should know I'm an avid reader and been here since 10 years ago like wtf that was so long!) I love your story so much! Instead of being a female lead in pirateau of some idol groups your OC is a reader of that story and was transmigrated into it as a side character to watch Y/N and the idol LMAO I found that so creative! I mean that totally scream Extraordinary You but a mix of Scarlet Heart, W:Two Worlds and Romance of Tiger and Rose which! All is my favorite drama so I had a good time reminiscing some scenes XD also your writing style is good! I loveeeeee the humor! I had a good laugh! Though grammar is bit unstable but it's still good! I love Star's character! Keep writing! Thanks for your story!

P.S. I'm sorry for spamming your notifications! T.T

Chapter 85: Well I'm not really a HongjoongxStar shipper but I'm happy for them! At least a happy ending for all! It's beautiful! And I love the fact that she can escape her ty reality and go to some magical realm with good looking idols as pirates instead of face it head on meh I'm jealous! Should I drop some water on my laptop to get the same effect?? I should right but maybe not on Ateez story I should find some NCT au or Enhypen au yeah I should be happier :')

Chapter 84: I think she chose Hongjoong! They are clearly a thing back then and she tries her hardest best to keep San as a friend and Yeosang as a companion of some sort HAH but never really resist Hongjoong even though she said they better be friends only! HAH! Hongjoong is your bias right Seakeeper-nim!! Nooo you're not Seakeeper LOL cough SerenitySky-nim!

I might be wrong but a reader can overreact right XD
