TSR: Chapter 12
Through Strawberries and RaspberriesTaemin came to pick me up this Saturday afternoon. "You came really early." I said to him as I got in his car.
"I said I'll be here by 12:30." Taemin said but it's 12:03 in the afternoon. "You're the one who came out early. I didn't want to rush you that's why I didn't even bother to tell you already came."
I laughed, he's right and now I feel dumb. "I saw you waiting from the window in my living room while I was preparing." I pointed at the window I was talking about. "I felt the need to rush. I don't want to keep you waiting."
"Did you even get to shower? Do you wanna go back and prepare first?"
"What do you take me for? I did, I mean you can tell." I said stating the obvious and brought a portion of my hair up for him smell.
"You use that raspberry cologne with or without showering, so I can't really tell." He said swatting my hand away, not bothering to smell my hair.
"I do that sometimes." Mostly did that during my college days. "But I did shower!"
"Okay? Nobody said that you didn't."
I rolled my eyes and just nodded not wanting to continue this conversation. He started the car and drove off to Ravi and Megan's new place. And because of the rush in preparing this morning, I didn't get to check if I got a reply from Nathan regarding the interview for this coming Monday. I fished my phone out from my bag to check my notifications.
And still, no reply.
What if he didn't notice my email?
But he did reply pretty fast last time.
I don't have any other way in order to contact him though.
I refreshed my email to check the inbox for new messages, but there's still no reply from Nathan. I tapped my foot being jittery from stressing over a single email reply. Why does it feel like I'm the one applying for a job?
Ahh, more patience Miseo. I placed my phone back in my bag, he might be sending a reply in a little while I just need to wait.
"Waiting for a call?" Taemin asked.
"Not a call..." I told him the whole story of me looking for a partner in work and that I was waiting for an email back.
"Oh you mean, the neighbor of Ravi and Megan? What was his name again?" He scratched his brow trying to recall.
"Nathan Seo." I said.
"Right right. That was really a funny encounter with him back in the wedding last week actually." He let out a hearty laugh. "We might be able to meet him there today though. He might be there, we're gonna be at their apartment anyways." He snapped his finger then pointed a finger at me proud of his suggestion at me.
"True enough." I returned his proud look with a nod. That gave me hope.
Taemin and I arrived the apartment, the other guests hasn't arrived yet. I knew from the number of shoes by the door, you know 'typical Asian house: no shoes allowed inside'. There were four pair of shoes including Taemin's, he's already inside while I was still near the door removing my shoes. I was already getting a hint of strawberries.
My heart skipped a beat, Jongin's already here. I thought he'd come later.
Once I entered the living room, I saw Jongin and two other girls that I didn't know. Most likely were Megan's friends.
The couple's apartment was really spacious and aesthetic. Well, Megan's an interior designer, she knows her stuffs. I can't even imagine her reaction during the wedding when she saw me wearing pastel yellow ruining the interior, and the whole aesthetic. Good thing I don't have to match colors for anything today. That was kind of a traumatic experience for me.
"Here's my two other best friends along with Jongin." Ravi stood up from the couch and started introducing us to Megan and she introduced two of her friends to us in exchange. Angela is the one wearing a really fashionable chic denim clothing, while Fiona's the one on the cute side with her plaid collared dress.
They looked like the fashionable sassy girls back then in high school or something. I felt timid in my simple printed tee and jeans as I sat down beside them.
"Aren't you the one who wore yellow during the wedding?" Angela pointed out.
And here goes this topic again.
The three guys started making fun of me once again. "You we're on spotlight that day rather than the actual wedding." Ravi said in between laughs, the girls started laughing as well. His statement made it sure that the 'girl in yellow' was definitely me.
I rolled my eyes at him and sarcastically laughed.
"That was unbelievable, how come you didn't see it from the invitation? When the invitation itself was in gray and white?" Megan commented laughing at me.
"Right, I was the one who made the invitation." Fiona then added.
I couldn't even reply back after hearing Fiona's reply cause I really didn't notice the invitation color even.
How oblivious can I be? I must be really dumb.
I just laughed along with them. I guess the 'girl in yellow' story became a good ice-breaker since we started to be comfortable.
We continued to chat, reminiscing our youthful days together. Ravi shared how we got closer together. We used to do movie nights together but we mostly stayed at Jongin's since we all got closer together because of him and his room was our usual hangout sport back in high school. Even though I'm not the best at games, we still did that until college. I never really learned to be good at video games but I would always win if Ravi was on my team, doesn't really matter what's the game he's just born with the great skills.
I guess since I'm closer with guys. I hangout with them through playing video games and more of the boyish stuffs. Megan shared how most of the time they'd go window shopping, paint nails, learn more make up styles and such. I mean I do that with my other girl friends too but I'm not really in the girly-girly side. You can say, I'm just moderate or is it because of the people that I'm most with?
The six of us still have things in common, like going
