b. Wait and see
Every Day With Day6Yeong decides to wait in front of the shut door, attempting to be patient. However, there is no activity to be heard. The dog changes his waiting position over time, feeling restless yet bound to remain by the door.
After breakfast is cleared, Sungjin walks in front of Dowoon’s door once more and notices Yeong. He tickles the dog’s ears.
“Dowoon, you awake?” he asks again. “Or else I’ll try to come in for the sake of making sure you’re not ill.”
There is no response once more. He gulps before turning the knob. It gives way, and so the two slink in. They see the drummer boy in bed, eyes closed initially but they pop open. A wry smile is formed on Dowoon’s countenance.
“Are you feeling ill?” asks the leader quietly, looking into the younger one’s eyes.
He doesn’t answer verbally, but he shakes his head. He sets Yeong beside the boy on the bed, who happily cuddles with him.
“Guess I’ll go,” mumbles Sungjin. “Get up when you’re feeling ready for brunch or lunch.”
Yet there is a hand that reaches out for the leader’s sleeve, and when he turns he sees an unexplainable sense of desperation. And so they will stay quietly together, the youngest holding on to the leader and the dog until sleep overcomes.
