a. Turn left
Every Day With Day6Yeong turns left, and Dowoon simply follows. They journey into that particular direction for a good half an hour before stopping at a nearby morning café. They welcome pets as well. The boy buys the dog a snack while drinking his own warm beverage.
“There’s just something about sunrises,” says Dowoon to no one in particular, even as the sun is finally making its appearance.
The night that seemed forever long is fading even as the rays hit the city. He watches Yeong eating his snack in contentment before getting up for another session of walking. By this time, he has arrived in the more rural part of the city, peculiar as it sounds.
He takes it in with slow blinks, needing Yeong to break him out of these daydreaming episodes. The dog barks, sensing their walk to seem a little too long. Isn’t it time to go back to the others?
“Okay, okay,” says Dowoon meekly, as Yeong resorts to pulling his shoelaces undone to capture his fleeting attention.
By the time they return, everyone’s awake. The drummer boy is met by a worried leader.
“Oy, you!” addresses Sungjin. “You’ve been gone way longer than usual for your sunrise walk and you didn’t even take your cell phone along.”
“Mm, I must have forgotten,” laughs Dowoon weakly. “Sorry.”
The leader looks at the younger in subtle disbelief as he believes the younger to be someone with a great memory. Plus, there’s that odd look in his eyes, as if there’s something else lurking behind that smiling expression. Yet he dismisses it.
“Catch more sleep soon,” is all Sungjin ends up saying, messing up the drummer’s hair fondly.
