“Your girlfriend will come here, hyung?” Hansol asked Mingyu who just got back to the counter after serving some coffee and cake to costumers. He smiled widely at Hansol, his girlfriend’s face popped in his mind. He really liked the idea that she would come here and see him working. He really wanted to show his cool side to her, he even planned to bake a chocolate cake for her. She really liked chocolate cake. She said she often asked her mom to make chocolate cake when she was still kid.

“Yeah, she will come~” Mingyu sang happily. His shift would be over in one hour and after that, they would go on date. He was excited for the plan, but he was more excited to know that she would come here. She would come after her first class in her second week of this new semester was over.

Hansol giggled. “Do you want to show her to the girls who come here for you?”

“Eyy, it’s not like that.” Mingyu replied, glancing at the customers. Some of them looked excited to see him looking at them. “I just want her to see me working diligently here~”

“Working diligently by using half of chocolate and margarines stock for baking a perfect chocolate cake?” Hansol teased, referring to the chocolate cake in the oven. “Wait until boss sees what you’ve done, hyung.”

Mingyu shushed him. “Don’t tell that to boss. I just borrowed the supply, I can replace them later.”

Hansol just smiled at him. “You really give everything for your girl, right, hyung?”

“Of course.” Mingyu couldn’t help but let a smile escape his lips. “I want her to be happy and proud to have a boyfriend like me.”

“I bet she’s very happy, you always try your best like this to impress her.” Hansol nodded in agreement. “Is it running to her that night also your attempt to impress her? Leaving me behind here while we have planned to have meals together?” he added, sounded a bit upset while concluding.

Mingyu juts giggled at the remark. “You know, it’s because she was with other guy at that time. I couldn’t help myself.”

“Is it a little jealousy?” Hansol chuckled.

Mingyu shrugged. “You can say that.”

“Is that guy really cool, like she can fall in love with him easily?” Hansol asked.

Mingyu acknowledged that that sunbaenim was cool, but he was annoying. “He’s really close to my girlfriend, that’s why I was just worried.”

“I think being in relationship is really problematic.” Hansol rubbed the back of his head.

“But as long as you’re happy, I think it’s not problematic. I mean, I’m really happy to have her, and we’re really happy to have each other. But the thing that kills you is overthinking.” He told Hansol. “I always feel jealous and think that that guy will take my girlfriend away, but somehow I shouldn’t think about it that much, I know my girlfriend really loves me. I suffer twice if I worry and overthink.”

Hansol looked at Mingyu in awe. “You’re really cool, hyung! I think she had changed you to be a wise and happiest guy.”

Mingyu giggled. “I’m so lucky to have her.”

Hansol gave a look like he was jealous, but then his eyes landed on the front door, to costumer who opened the door open. “Oseooseyo!”

Mingyu was about to back to the kitchen, when he had someone grabbing his hand. He quickly turned around to find Jia smiling brightly at him.

“Yoo Jia, what are you doing here?” he asked her. Jia giggled at him. He didn’t expect she would come here anyway, they had met earlier at campus for their morning class, but they didn’t talk to each other. He slowly released Jia’s hand on his hand. Jia seemed didn’t like that idea Mingyu releasing her hand from his. And almost all costumers in the café looked at them, curious. Well, Jia was that stunning that everybody would turn head to look at her.

“Mingyu, you shouldn’t leave the class so fast. I haven’t talked properly to you.” Jia pouted.

Mingyu raised an eyebrow. “Talk? Is there anything you want to talk to me?” he glanced at Hansol who looked confused, and mouthed asking if that girl was Mingyu’s girlfriend. Mingyu shook his head to Hansol so Hansol nodded.

Jia smiled prettily at Mingyu. “I just want to talk to you, over meals, you know, I want to talk about many things.”

Mingyu didn’t know what this girl was thinking about. She clearly knew that he was not in the state that he had free time to talk to a friend. If Lee Jihoon saw him not working diligently, he could fire him. “I’m working, Jia, you see? You can’t come suddenly like this.” Mingyu then came to some tables to take the order.

“So, I should make appointments beforehand? You know I’m busy, and this is my free time.” Jia replied him when he got back to the counter to give the menu and order to Hansol. Jia was sitting on a chair near the counter. “I can wait while you’re working, until you finish your work, and you can talk to me.”

Mingyu widened his eyes. “Wait, what? You will wait until I finish working?”

Jia nodded. “It will be better, right? Because we can talk freely.”

“It’s not that. I don’t have time for you.” Mingyu explained. “I need to go somewhere after my work over.” Of course he would go somewhere, he planned to have a movie date with his dear girlfriend after he finished working.

“It’s alright. I will wait.”

“No, Jia, don’t wait.”

“Why?”

“I have no time for you, seriously. I need to go somewhere after this. I’m sure we don’t have anything we need to talk about. Am I wrong?” It sounded a bit harsh, didn’t it? But well, he had no choice. Mingyu didn’t want to give some hopes for her since he really knew all her intention was to get closer to him not as a friend.

“You’re always like this, Kim Mingyu, you try to push me away.” Jia bitterly said. Mingyu just stared at her. “I have many things I want to talk to you.”

“Oh yeah? About what?” Mingyu asked her while leaving the counter to bring some cakes for costumers.

“Our classes, you know I missed some classes last week, right?” Jia smiled at him when he was back. “And about our school reunion.”

“School reunion?” Mingyu blinked.

“You forget about that? You’re one of the organizers.” Jia giggled.

“Yeah, I really forget about it.” Mingyu then tried to recall his last phone call with Seungkwan two days ago. Seungkwan did say they had to meet with the other kids soon to talk about the reunion. The other kids Seungkwan said referred to Seokmin, Soon-young, Ryu Sujeong, and Yoon Soyoon. Actually they were just a group of friends, half of them were friends since they joined student council together, like Mingyu knew Soon-young and Soyoon. Sujeong was Mingyu’s friend since junior high school and they were also in the same class in the first year in senior high school, and she joined the student council just like Mingyu. While Seungkwan and Seokmin were Mingyu’s classmates since 2nd year.

This group of friends was the constant team who always prepared for the mini reunion their class year had for two years straight. They didn’t do much things, they only prepared the place for the reunion, decoration, everything done to make the reunion memorable. It seemed like all kids in their class year had faith in them to prepare all of these things related to reunion since they used to work together in students council. And maybe because they were just some of the kids who still cared about gathering friends to keep the contact like this. Mostly of the students were busy after they went to university and it was hard to pick the right date to hold the reunion, but they finally decided to meet in spring.

And spring would come soon.

Well, he needed to contact the kids after his work over.

“You don’t want to talk to me about that, too?” Jia asked Mingyu, still smiling.

“I’ll tell you later about the reunion.” He finally said. “I haven’t talked to the kids.”

“Before the reunion, some classmates want to have mini gathering, too.” Jia informed him. Mingyu and Jia were classmates back then in third year.

Hey, no one told him about this. “Really?”

Jia nodded. “Yeah, going to karaoke and having dinner, that kind of thing.” She beamed at him. “How is it? You want to join?”

“Who will come?” Mingyu asked.

“Those kids, you know, Seungkwan, Seokmin, and the other boys.” Jia told him.

“Really?” Mingyu got a little confused since any of those friends of his didn’t tell him anything about it. Did they plan something without him knowing?

“You will join, right, Mingyu? It had been a while, you know. The only classmate I meet is you, the other kids are not in the same faculty even not in the same campus as us. It’s hard to meet them.”

“But we will meet them eventually, at the reunion.” Mingyu reasoned.

“But it’s not the same if it’s just us with our classmates.” Jia replied, not agree at Mingyu’s idea. “You know we’re closer than those kids from other classes.”

That was the truth. Their classmates were closest to one another. Anyway, he never felt that Jia was close with the kids, since she spent more time outside the class, she was often absent, and she wasn’t friends with many people. She was somehow far to be reached, maybe because of her job. And actually Mingyu never thought about other friends from other class problem since he knew mostly all of them, especially the boys since they were always practicing soccer and other sports together.

“Yeah, you’re right.” That was he finally said. Jia smiled in victory.

“I’ll see you later, then. I can’t disturb your work any longer.” Jia rose from her seat. Mingyu just nodded and gave her a little smile. Jia waved at him and then turned around, walking up to the door. At that time, Mingyu’s girlfriend just arrived at the café and just pulled the door open. Mingyu could see her recognizing Jia, and Jia looked smiled politely at her. But as she saw Mingyu, she walked up to him quickly.

“You come.” Mingyu said, which replied by a giggle. He couldn’t help but smile to see his girlfriend.

“I’m sorry I’m a bit late.” She was still smiling.

“That’s nothing.” He replied. He then glanced at Hansol who looked so curious. Mingyu coughed. “Darling, that’s Hansol, my co-worker.”

She turned her head and saw Hansol who was all smiley to welcome her. “Hello, how do you do.” She bowed.

Hansol also bowed at her. “How do you do.”

Mingyu let the two exchanged questions as she asked about the menu the café had. He silently thought about the reunion and how the kids hadn’t told him anything about the class reunion. He was in his deep thought but he eventually heard what his girlfriend and Hansol were talking about.

“Noona—I can call you noona, right? Mingyu hyung is my hyung, so— I think I’ve seen you somewhere before.”

“Oh, really? Where?”

“I don’t remember, but you seem familiar.”

They bought two sweet popcorns.

Mingyu knew she always liked sweet popcorn. They were waiting their movie to play but the movie would start in 30 minutes and they decided to kill the time by eating the popcorn they bought. She said they would end up eating all the popcorn but Mingyu said they could buy it again.

She was looking at Mingyu when he was eating the popcorn. “My man looks so cute if he’s eating.” She commented, out of the blue. Mingyu stared at her and smiled shyly. He liked the way she called him her man. She barely mentioned something like this, which he found it cute.

“And my girl looks cute, too.” He replied. She just grinned and kept eating. “You really like me eating, huh?”

“Of course,” she replied without hesitation. “You have to eat more, so I can be very happy.”

He smiled at the remark. “What if I gain weight? 20 kg? Do you still love me?” he joked around.

She laughed. “What kind of question is that?”

“I’m serious.” He replied, but slightly laughed. “Do you still love me?”

“I don’t care if you gain weight.” Sh
