Wonwoo didn’t know what he was looking for.

He kept looking into her eyes, until he could see his own reflection.

He wanted to know whether she just really saw him as a brother, not as a man.

He clearly saw his reflection, but her expression told him everything.

The way she looked at him now, with her eyes slightly teary, and that shock expression plastered on her face when he said she shouldn’t wait for him again, that expression was the same when he told his little brother, Bohyuk, not to wait for him after school when they were in elementary school. That slightly shocked and disappointed face, he clearly remembered it.

Did she…really think of him as a brother?

Did she really…?

O-oh, darn it.

He sighed, changing his expression into a soft one. He didn’t want her disappointed.

“You know,” he tried to explain, “I’m busy in the lab.” He pointed the lab with his thumb. “I’m working on the project all day long, I expect to finish it as soon as possible, so I think I will come home late, and you shouldn’t wait for me. What if I finish my work very late, that’s why you don’t need to wait for me again. You can go home first.”

What a lame excuse, he cursed himself. Well, his project was also one of the reason he couldn’t walk her home again. He could take the project easy and slowly, but no, he changed his mind. He had thought of many things last night, with all the fever he had. He really hurt because what he had seen, but he wanted to decrease the pain by immersing in his project, and stop seeing her regularly.

But, of course, he couldn’t do that in just matter of seconds, right?

He couldn’t suddenly stop seeing her, it would be weird. And the worse thing was that he couldn’t explain everything to her, why he was like this. If he had to explain it, he should explain it all, he should tell her about all his feelings, while he thought it was not good idea. She was dating other guy now, and it was useless if he confessed right now, useless to the point it couldn’t make any change, that he still wanted her to be his, and he couldn’t. It was really frustrating. He felt so stupid to only keep his own feelings, delaying to confess to her. What he got now was only regrets, and it was suffocating. He felt like he was dying.

He couldn’t stop staring at her. The weather was really cold tonight, and the girl in front of him was freezing. He wondered if she felt warm with scarf she was wearing. He knew he shouldn’t make her waiting for him like this. He really wanted to embrace her tightly, he really missed her, but he couldn’t do that. The sight of her hugging with other guy made him hurt.

This jealousy was really killing him.

Her expression changed too after his explanation. The shock expression was gone, replaced by a smiley face. She looked down and smiled to herself.

“Ah, I got it.” she said. She then looked up and slightly smiled at him. That simple smile always made him weak. He needed to get a hold of himself.

“Sorry, I didn’t send you text earlier.” He apologized sincerely, he actually didn’t expect her to wait for him. He thought she would not wait, he thought she wouldn’t do that, she would leave with her boyfriend. He had thought of all possibilities, but why was she here?

“That’s nothing.” She giggled. “I know you’re busy, but why I’m still waiting.” Her words made his chest hurt.

He didn’t walk her home anymore for two weeks, didn’t she already get used to it?

Why was she still waiting for him?

Why?

He smiled bitterly. “You don’t need to wait for me again, alright? You can go home without me.”

She pouted. “Do you need to stay here until late? Please don’t overwork yourself.”

“No, I won’t.” he replied. Those simple words from her really gave him energy, he felt like he didn’t need to do anything. He just needed her with him. Could he still want her to be by his side even though someone else already had her heart?

“Ah, have you eaten yet?” she asked him suddenly.

He blinked. “I-I haven’t.” he replied. “I have no time to eat.”

She was dumbfounded. “How could you make your body work if you have no energy?” she shook her head. “Come on, we have to eat.”

We?

Wonwoo widened his eyes, surprised. What was she saying?

No, he’s supposed to avoid meeting her, but why she asked him for having a dinner together?

He didn’t expect this, he thought it would be easy to avoid her.

No, it was never easy.

“You should eat much food, sunbae, you need that, really.” Her words filled his ears. “It’s okay to leave the work for a while for having dinner. You can work better after you have eaten.”

“R-right now?” he asked like a fool. He really didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t reject it as well. And he didn’t eat anything since morning after he took his medicine.

She grinned. “Of course, it’s dinner time already, isn’t it?”

He blinked many times. “B-but…”

She pushed his back, laughing, “change into your usual coat. You can’t wear that outside the lab, right?” she giggled again, pointing at his white lab coat.

He couldn’t think properly but obediently coming back to the lab and changed into his coat. He then faced her again. She was all smiling at him, and he got so much butterflies in his stomach. He really missed that face, he missed her. Darn it. He wasn’t supposed to keep these feelings to this girl who already had a boyfriend. But he himself couldn’t stop this feeling. What should he do?

“Come on, sunbae,” she said, walking closer to him, and pulling the tip of his sleeve, “it’s really cold and I’m hungry. Come on~!”

How could he say no to her?

He then let her dragging him to their favorite restaurant, like he never told her that she shouldn’t wait for him anymore.

His first attempt to avoid her was a total failure.

Their order have already come, some tofu soup that would make body warmer. She silently clapped happily when the food came. Her stomach just grumbled many times on the way to this restaurant. She couldn’t wait anymore, she was starving. She was about to dig in but then she remembered something. She took her phone from her bag. She needed to take a photo of the food and she would send it to Mingyu. One photo is enough, she thought to herself, smiling.

To: 밍구❤
[Photo]
I’m having dinner now~ my sweetheart don’t forget to have dinner too, okay~?
P.S.: Don’t forget your coat, it’s very cold outside.

As cheesy as it’s seen, yeah, she knew that. She grinned and sent the text.

Her world has completely changed after she confessed to Mingyu, and after Mingyu asked her for a date. She felt that everything in this world was brighter, everything was lovely, just because she had Mingyu by her side. To know that finally her love for years loved her back, she was so thankful and sometimes didn’t believe it. But Mingyu made her believe she was not dreaming as they shared their very first kiss that day, when they were having a date in side of Han River, after they went for some dates within a month. Ah, every time she remembered that memory she couldn’t stop smiling. It was much like a drama, wasn’t it, when your first love loved you back? She didn’t believe she experienced it herself.

She looked up and saw Jeon Wonwoo watching her. She smiled at him. Without saying anything, she pointed her phone camera at him, and captured one silent moment Jeon Wonwoo holding chopsticks and looking coldly at the camera. She saw the result and she was amazed. She giggled to herself, the result was amazing, all the lights, the foods arranged on the table, Jeon Wonwoo and his cold stare, and his chopsticks, everything was good.

“Look.” She showed her phone to Jeon Wonwoo. “It turns out good, right? What do you think, sunbae?”

Jeon Wonwoo took a look to the photo she just captured, and he just nodded. “Not bad.”

She laughed. “Yeah, it’s nothing compared to yours, right?” she looked at her phone again, “You look tired actually, sunbae, but I don’t understand why the photo turned out good.” She murmured, talking to herself.

“Why is that?” he asked her.

“I don’t know, your stare, I don’t know it’s fascinating.” She replied, looking up at him again.

He smirked a little, first smirk she saw today. “You’ve been saying that hundreds of times. Don’t you feel tired?”

She giggled at his remark. “You should be a model, sunbae, not a photographer.”

“Then, what? You will be my photographer?” he replied.

“Perhaps.” She couldn’t help but laugh. “But if I’m offered a job as a model too, I will go, I can’t be your photographer.”

“Who would hire you as a model, huh?” he commented coldly, but seconds later he laughed. She was really thankful to see that smile, he looked free from burden of his project. And one thing about Jeon Wonwoo and his smile was that his smile was contagious. You couldn’t help but smile too if you saw he smiled.

“There must be somebody, somebody will hire me.” she said, full of confidence. He just shook his head in refusal.

“What do you think the best point you have to be a model?” he asked, asking like he was an interviewer.

“Ah, it’s my…” she hesitated. “I don’t know, my eyes? I don’t know. I don’t think I’m photogenic enough though.”

“Your eyes? I don’t think so.” he made expression like he was thinking hard, he even supported his chin with his palm and stared at her.

“Then, what is it?” she asked him.

It took seconds for him to answer. “I like how your lips curl up when you smile.”

She blinked. “Ah, really?” she didn’t expect to hear this answer from him. “I don’t know I have a good smile.” She jokingly commented.

“I’m not saying you have good smile.” He shot, with that cold expression of his.

She wrinkled her forehead. “Huh?”

He grinned. “I’m just kidding.”

“Thank you, Mr. Just Kidding.” She laughed.

This was the moment she enjoyed the most, the time she spent like this with Jeon Wonwoo. They just ate and talked about things happened to them throughout the day. He also talked about his project, and time he spent in Changwon, and when he was at his own home. It was like normal night they spent to have dinner like this, they exchanged stories. She was a fool earlier when she thought about his sudden change and suddenly he didn’t want her to wait for him again. That moment really reminded her at the time her brother suddenly had a serious talk with her about a year ago, when he picked her up on a bus stop near their house. That night was cold because the rain was falling hard, and she brought no umbrella with her, that was why she asked her brother to come to the bus stop. But her brother s

Chapter 28: I can sense she's still going strong with mingyu and i actually hope she still will (i'm on mingyu's side!!) The weird thing is that wonwoo acted like nothing when it should've affected him as well. It's whether he hid it or he realized something after doing that?
