Chapter 30
Running With WolvesSitting on a couch I front of seven pairs of eyes would be nerve wracking for any teenage girl but as her mind kept replaying what had happened between Myungsoo and her a few moments before the restaurant f the pack returned home, Sunrin felt her nerves going into over drive.
They were definitely not alone anymore.
Her eyes couldn't help but wander around the living room until they unintentionally landed on him. Myungsoo currently sat in the one seater lounge chair while Sungyeol remained perched on the arm of that said chair.
Myungsoo's eyes sparkled as a small smile, almost smirk played on his lips. A smile that remained in place because of a moment, a secret, they both now shared. It would have to remain a secret, at least for now.
Sunrin was sure that if any other member of the pack were to find out about what had happened between the two of them, Myungsoo and maybe not even Sunrin would be safe from Sunggyu's rage.
"Let the party commence!" Exclaimed Woohyun, sat on Sunrin's right.
Sunrin couldn't help but jump slightly from the sudden sound of his loud voice. She heard Myungsoo snigger from her reaction before ending him a small glare his way.
"Are you okay Sunrin." Sunggyu suddenly asked, grabbing Sunrin's full attention.
"Of course, why would you ask that?" Sunrin questioned back.
"I can hear your heartbeat. It's beating erratically fast right now."
At his words, Sunrin almost felt the rest of the werewolves hone in on their own supernatural hearing to get a listen. It took all of Sunrin's composure and strength to calm her heartbeat and to keep the blush that was trying to paint her face scarlet at bay.
"I'm just probably excited about opening my presents." Sunrin offered as an excuse. An excuse that must have s under legit to Dongwoo who quickly spoke up, " if that's the case then you should open mine first."
He handed her a small wrapped box to Sunrin. Sending Dongwoo a smile, Sunrin took the box and began to whip it open. What she found inside was a black leather box which held a necklace.
The necklace seemed to be a silver chain with a small crescent moon charm hanging from it. The moon seemed to be made of mother of pearl.
"Oh my god. Dongwoo, I love it." Sunrin said, taking the necklace out of the box.
"You get her that and on my last birthday you gave me a hug? Where's your sense of loyalty?" Hoya joked as Woohyun helped Sunrin put the necklace on. Once he was done, the charm of the necklace sat comfortably by her collarbone.
"Is that..." Sunggyu began, only to be interrupted by Dongwoo.
" it's not Sunri's if that's what you were going to ask. I saw it in a shop window last week and I remembered that you had bought Sunri a similar necklace in the past. I just thought it would be nice for Sunrin to have something that was similar to the one her Umma once owned." Dongwoo explained.
Sunrin turned o look at Sunggyu from that information she had just gained. Another small snippet of Sunri's life that her daughter had known nothing about.
" you gave her a necklace like this?" Sunrin asked as her fingers played with the charm.
Sunggyu smiled before simply nodding his head in reply.
"She never took it off." He said softly. Sunrin found herself smiling back at him before inhaling a deep breath and turning to Sungjong who sat comfortably on the floor.
"Did you get me a present?"
Sunrin wanted to change the direction of the conversation. She loved to hear stories about her Umma but sometimes if they talked about her for too long, the atmosphere would become solemn and sometimes awkward. It was anybody's fault but Sunrin knew how much the whole pack missed Sunri. Talking about her allowed Sunrin to get a better insight as to what sort of person she was but she would never ask questions. She just waited for times like this, when one of the pack members unintentionally brought the topic of Sunri first.
"Of course. Sungyeol and I got you this present. It's from the both of us." Sungjong said, handing Sunrin a gift bag. Taking hold of it, she peeked inside the bag before her head shot back up to look at Sungjong and then a Sungyeol. Her eyes rounded in shock.
"Are you guys serious?" She exclaimed, making the two of them laugh.
" I told you she'd like it" Sungjong grinned in Sungyeol's direction.
"What did you get her?" Myungsoo questioned as he watched Sunrin pull out a rather thick and slightly battered book.
"Only the book that I've wanted to get my hands on for the last couple of years! It's no longer in print and it wa
