AREUM'S POV

"What do you mean by I could only be the only living witch?" She ask.

I'm no witch but I think I know more about witches than her.

"What I say is what I mean. I'm not talking in riddles. I told you that you could be the ONLY witch alive. Other witches are gone" I said and she start glaring at me again.

"I don't care if they're gone. I'll by my rules and do what I want" She said and start to walk away.

This is gonna be hard.

"Hey! Wait" I said and catch up with her.

"Why you're so annoying?!!" She yelled and that caught everyone's attention

I just smile awkwardly to them.

"I just want us to be friends" I said.

"I won't be friends with you if you're not a witch. I have no plan to be friends with any stupid mortals" She said and keep walking too fast.

I notice that we're heading towards the school gate.

"Hey, where do you plan to go? We still have classes you know" I said trying to stop her but she didn't listen to me.

I sighed.

I didn't plan to ditch class on my first day but....

.....I guess I have to do it.

I followed her outside the gate.

But....

"Where did she go?" I ask myself when I can't see her anywhere.

It's impossible for her to teleport.

Witches can't do that.

Ok I need to focus and search for her.

I close my eyes and try to find her.

"Gotcha!" I said when I finally figure out where I can find her.

How could she run so fast?

I started running too because teleporting is way dangerous when there are mortals passing by.

I was panting hard when I finally saw her.

"I wasn't made for running" I said to myself while catching my breath.

Or maybe I'm just not used to run like this.

I saw her in a store talking to a man.

I think it was the owner of the store.

The man then, get inside while Dani was just there standing outside.

Dani is not yet leaving.

After few minutes the man come out again and handed something to her in a plastic.

What was that?

I look at the man carefully and my eyes widen..

"Witchcraft" I mouthed.

Hmm. She manipulated the man to give her what she wants.

That was...

That was so witchy.

Dani then left.

I guess she didn't notice my presence yet. She doesn't really know much about witches.

I look at the store owner and he was still standing there outside the store staring at nothingness.

I wonder how long he'll gonna be like that.

Anyway I just approach him and give him some money as payment for what Dani had taken.

I secretly followed Dani and figure out where is she going.

Do I look like a stalker by doing this???

Tsk.

Anyway she get inside a small house.

It's not that small but can be considered small coz my room is actually bigger than this one.

Ok I'll stop talking nonsense.

Is this her house?

I decided to get closer and take a peek on what's going on inside.

"THIS IS ALL YOU GOT USING YOUR STUPID POWERS??? YOU'RE STUPID" A man said and slap her.

I know Dani was hurt but she act like it was nothing and glared at the man.

"Just be thankful that I'm still doing what you ask me to do. Tss"

Dani then walk out of the house.

I know she was angry.

I decided to follow her again.

I can hear her murmuring things while she's walking.

"...he's a useless father."

That's the only thing I understand from what she say

"He's not your father. If you are a witch, your parents can't be mortal" I said and she suddenly stop and turn around to face me....

....with a frown.

"You again?!" She irritably said.

"I told you to stop following me!!! This is my last warning to you. I'm going to curse you if you didn't stop!" She said threatening me.

"Come with me. I'll take you to where you belong." I said.

She clenched her fist and start reciting things I don't understand.

But before she finish it I cover .

"You can't curse me if you didn't finish that chant." I said and...

"OUCH!! Why did you bit me?" I said and rub my hand.

Tss

What's wrong with her?

I thought she was a witch, not a vampire or werewolf.

"Why do you know so much about witches??!" She ask.

"I told you I will only answer your question if you agreed to be my friend!" I said raising my voice too.

I can't help it because she had been yelling at me the whole time.

"Fine! I'll be your friend. Now tell me" She said.

"Not that fast... If I tell you now I'm sure you'll break our friendship and we'll be like this again. C'mon let's go back to class" I said

"What's the use of going back there? Even if we run we will still be late anyway so why bother?" She said.

"Tsk. You really need to abide some law at times for your own good" I said and grab her wrist then we started to run all the way to school.

Actually, I could just flash us there but I don't think it's the right time to tell her now.

After few minutes of none stop running we finally reach the school.

...and she was right.

We're already late.

"This is why I told you this is a bad idea" Dani said

Right now we are looking at the stairs.

We need to go up there to reach the third floor.

My knees are slightly shaking now.

But we have to be on class.

"Let's go" I said

"Can't we rest?" She ask.

"No. If we take rest we will miss one class" I said and we go upstairs.

Heol.

When we get there our teacher didn't say anything and just let us take a sit.

Ok...

I'm sure I didn't use magic to save us.

Weird.

Not even our classmates bothered to care.

"Hey. Why teacher didn't scold us?" I ask her as we take our seats coz I'm really curious.

"I told you....I'm a witch" She said.

Now I get it.

I guess I'm destined to have few friends at school.

This feeling is not new to me.

The feeling that everyone is secretly giving you suspicious glimpse.

Well, they're not really good at keeping it as a secret coz I still notice it.

"I told you. It'll be like this if you made friends with me" Dani suddenly said and make look at her.

I was about to say something but then something caught my eyes out of the window.

Why is she here?

And why is she up in the tree???

I stand up and excuse myself and immediately go outside to meet her.

She's still up on a tree when I get there.

It's a very tall tree.

"Mommy Ji!" I call her and she look down and wave at me.

Mwoya?

She flash herself in front of me.

"Hi sweetie. Mommy miss you" She said and kiss both of my cheeks and hug me tight.

"Mommy I just met you few hours ago." I said and she pout.

"My baby had grew up really fast. You don't need me anymore" She said and her eyes went teary.

I panic.

"Mommy it's not like that. Of course I still do need you forever. I love you please don't cry" I said and hug her.

My Mommy Ji is acting weird....isn't she?

"Why are you here Mommy? I still have class" I said.
