The Last Day

Hello, My Baby!

That morning, I woke up with the smell of hot coffee. "Ami?" I called out as I went down the stairs.

"Kitchen!" She answered happily. "Did you sleep well?" She had that bright smile on her face that made me love her more. I saw YooGeun in his crib beside the dining table. He was fast asleep under the light blue comforter that ChangMin had given him.

"Not much. I was thinking of how to make this day oh-so-perfect for the two of you." I grabbed a toast from the plate.

"Being here with us would be alright." She served me the newly-fried eggs.

"Nuh-uh." I shook my head. "Let's have fun today."

We set off towards the shopping malls at nine in the morning. I bought her the latest clothes and YooGeun the finest baby accessories.

"It's quite funny how the fangirls don't recognize me." I whispered to Ami.

"You're not that popular, you know." She giggled.

"Hey is that Jung YunHo of TVXQ?" A girl shouted from in front of them.

"Speaking of fangirls." I pulled Ami and pushed YooGeun's stroller away from the hovering fan.

"Yah! YunHo! Where are you going? And who's that girl/. And are you really carrying a child?" Another fan came rushing after us.

"I think you have the wrong person." I replied. "I am Park JaeHee, this is my wife and this is my son. So, if you would excuse me." I walked away from the crowd, pulling my family along with me.

"I see you're really good at lying, Jung YunHo." Ami teased as she fixed her hair. We were now staying at my park. We have set down a picnic table and blanket on the grass to enjoy the afternoon breeze. YooGeun was sleeping on my lap, softly moving from time to time.

"Not really. I didn't know that those fangirls would be buying it." I chuckled. YooGeun slowly opened his eyes and gazed at me. "Hey, little one. Had a nice afternoon nap?" I his cheek. The little child then smiled brightly at me. "A...A...Ami... did you see that...?" I asked, breathlessly. That was the first time he smiled at me. It was even the first time that I actually sang him to sleep.

"See what?" Ami was currently making a sandwich and did not look up.

"H...he smiled... at me..." I stuttered. It wasn't like I haven't seen a child smile before but he was different. It felt like his smile had brighten up the rather cloudy sky. YooGeun seemed to have changed my lonesome mood into a proud father's happiness.

"Did he? That's good. He likes you very much." My fiance laughed. "He rarely smiles at people. Even halmoni was dying to see that sweet grin."

"Was I the first one to see it?"

"No. Of course eomma would always be first. Ne, YooGeunnie?" She shoved the sandwich into my mouth and took the child from my lap. "Do you like appa that much?" She talked to the child.

"Of course he ---" I saw cut off by a sound that I have never heard before. It was high-pitched yet sounded so sweet. YooGeun was laughing, My. Son. Is. Laughing. I couldn't think anymore. I was just too overwhelmed with what I was hearing.

"YunHo-ah?" Ami was looking at me strangely.

"Oh. Sorry. I was just... stunned." I laughed.

"So, the almighty YunHo did have a weakness." Ami pinched my cheek. "Come on, finish that sandwich already."

"Ne, yeobbeo." I smiled brightly. Now I have found out that babies really are angels.

How I wish that that moment would last forever. Just the time when Ami was leaning on my shoulder and my son was sleeping on my lap. I don't want to get far from them. But my time in Seoul wa limited. I have to go to Japan to continue with our promotions. I kissed YooGeun as I regretfully made my way towards the boarding area.

"YunHo-ah." Ami called from behind me. I spun around and was shocked with what happened next. She. Kissed. Me. "Be safe." She then walked away along with YooGeun.

"I love you..." I said, breathlessly as I watched them disappear into the crowd. I sighed heavily and doublfully went into the boarding area.

I feel so bad for Yong, Amid really didn't explain why she is leaving. I wonder is it better to be hurt and know the reason why or to be jury and not know why.
