Erased Away
The IT HunterThe next time I awoke, everything was dark. The room I slept in was dim, and it was nighttime. I was quite confused and quickly reached for my phone to check the time, however, my phone was gone. I pushed the fluffy blankets away and stood from the bed.
Walking in my bare feet, I flipped the light on and looked at the ticking clock. It was a quarter until eleven. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and headed out of the room. The boys weren't asleep yet, their chatters could be heard from the second floor.
The stairs squeaked as I walked down in a relaxed manner. My body felt a lot better and my stomach ache was completely gone. The boys sat on the sofa and sipped tea while they talked. I approached and they warmly welcomed me.
"How do you feel, Abi?" Lay was the first to ask with a smile.
"I feel great. I think I am all better now," I replied.
Kris, who sat beside Lay on the sofa nudged him a little. "Abi, did you know Lay spent the entire day healing you with his powers? He was so worried about you," the tall male said which made my eyes widen.
"Really? The entire day? What date is it today?" I questioned in horrid. I better not have slept through an entire day.
Lay chuckled, "It's okay Abi. My healing power works the best when the patient is asleep. Your body was spending a lot of time regenerating, don't look so surprised."
"So I slept through an entire day. That means we have school tomorrow. I better go pack my things and get ready," I said and was about to head back upstairs when I remembered something. I turned to face the healer boy in front of me and bowed. "Thank you very much for everything. I promise I will one day return that favor."
"It's really no problem. We are the ones who should be thanking you for making the right choices and teaming up with us," Lay quickly responded. I nodded to show my appreciation before heading back up the stairs.
In the guest room, I packed my books, binders, pencil case, and then proceeded to finish my homework. The writing took me quite a while since there was a huge amount of work to do. When I finished, I packed everything for tomorrow and decided to go out for a stroll. I needed some fresh air.
Before I dressed up, I was in search for my phone. It was no where in my room. I decided to check around the house but still didn't find it. It was probably a good idea to ask the boys if they had seen it lying around.
I walked into the living room again. but this time, only Luhan and Tao sat on the sofa. Everybody else was away, minding their own business. "Guys, have you seen my phone anywhere around here?" I questioned.
Luhan paused for moment. "I forgot to tell you this, but we got rid of your phone. The phone belonged to the organization, they could track you using your device. It was for the best. I promise we will get you another one as soon as possible," he said sincerely.
I nodded and didn't complain. How could I have overlooked this? It felt like I was growing less and less intelligent each day. "Okay. Well I'm planning to go out for a walk. I'll be back later," I said and waved them goodbye before heading off.
Fully dressed in my coat and hat, I slowly strolled down the empty street in front of the house. Snow piled on the ground, faintly reflecting the glow of the moonlight. As my chest heaved up and down, my breath turned into mist and disappeared into the chilly winter air.
Tomorrow would be the last week of school before winter holidays begin. Wednesday was our last day of school before the celebration for the new year. My boots left a trail of foot prints in the snow with every step I took. Within the last few months, my life had changed so drastically that I had trouble adapting. The midterm exams were easy for me, but the other students seemed to be struggling. I felt like I had a great advantage, yet at the same time,
