11 | Heartbeats

 

 

"Who says I'm fool? I'm smarter." Putting down his phone to his table, In Guk get on his feet and approaches Seohyun, who has been soaking by the blood of a pig. The girl's entire body was filled with blood, which never made him fail to laugh at how pity the girl was. However, he stopped his advances when he realized the girl's eyes never loses its fire. She's been glaring at him. "Don't worry, after this, we will tell you -- May you rest in peace." He snickered, resuming on his walk. He stood behind Seohyun, so he could untie her and force her to stand on her feet.

 

"Where are we going?" ask Seohyun in a cold tone. "If we're going to the cemetery, then let me have my shower first. I want to look presentable before it's my time."

 

In Guk laughs. "You sure ready for that?"

 

"I will not go if you're not going to let me." says Seohyun, as she suddenly launches a good kick on the boy's crotch.

 

"WHAT THE HELL!!!" In Guk scream and groan in pain, holding his crotch down in the floor.

 

Seohyun smiled smugly. "That was only one kick, you cried?"

 

"! YOU JOOHYUN!" 

 

Seohyun hold her nose. "I seriously need a shower." she was so disgusted with her body now. After that series of non sense torture, she was sure, she had only one wish before the real event, enjoy a refreshing shower. When In Guk just keep on holding his crotch under her, she sighed and look around the place. Hoping to see a shower room? But it looks like, they're in some sort of a basement?

 

"Where do you think you are going?" Ask In Guk, as he slowly rose from the ground. Two men emerge from the entrance door - quickly holding Seohyun in both arms. 

 

"I SAID LET ME HAVE MY SHOWER FIRST!!!" Still persisting, Seohyun violently shake her body in protest. That caused for In Guk's men to hold her in place. And one of them had cursed on her. She cursed back precisely.

 

In Guk rolled his eyes. "Fine. Bring her to the 2nd floor. To the right guest room. There's a good shower room there." He instructed defiantly. "I love your idea though. At least, you're comfortable in your death." He added, as he finally can able to sigh in relief. The pain in his crotch was gone.

 

With that, The two men drags Seohyun out and straightly pushed her inside that guest room their boss had instructed. They made sure the door was lock and just ask her to knock on the door if she's already finish, before they finally left.

 

Seohyun just shrugs and looked around the 'guest room' In Guk says. She looks like she's in his house. Though the room is quiet big, she liked it. Letting out a sigh, she once again flinched with the scent she can smell. 

 

"Aish. Just when did he came back? How did he even kill a pig for this?! Tsk,tsk, so cheap." mumbles her, as she recalled how much she almost got drown to death earlier. Heck, thanks to her skill to be able to hold her breath, she's surviving so far. Well, In Guk seems giving it to her first. 

 

Approaching to the closet, she smiled widely when she can see variety of clothes. There was even some undies. She wondered, In Guk is gay? or what? But most of them are dresses, not her style. "This will do. Yoonggator says, I look good in dresses." She says, amused at her own words. Picking up that floral dress, she put it on top of the mattress and went back to the closet to get a bathrobe and underwear. She stepped in to the shower room and stand in front of a mirror.

 

"Geez, I look so horrible. My parents will not recognize me if I die like this." She says to herself, looking into her body that was almost filled with blood. Her face and arms were the only part she can see as white. The bruises on her left cheeks and right upper arms though. How awful. "Tsk,tsk." Shrugging, she began to strip before turning on the shower and finally, enjoy such a refreshing shower, indeed.

 

A couple of minutes later, she stepped out of the shower, wearing her bathrobe. She felt so good that the bad smell was no longer there. Her skin is so smooth like a baby again.

 

"Whoa~ I felt so alive again." she says, as she gradually fell on top of the mattress. She sighed, relieved now. "Aigoo, this is my last night. Thank you, Mom and Dad for bringing me to this world. Thanks to my friends, to my Uncle... Yoonggator and to all those who misses to kill me the last time. Well, In Guk seems the lucky ones. Such a bad man, right?" She closes her eyes but opens them again, as she recalled what happened in the cafeteria. It's amazing that it crosses her mind despite her situation at the moment. She pouted, sadly. She couldn't cook for Yoonggator anymore.

 

Suddenly, a knock was heard, she shifted her head to the left.

 

"Are you ready? We're going out in a while."  It's In Guk's voice.

 

Seohyun frantically got up, picked up her dress and entered the room to change. In Guk walked in to the room, cursed inside his mind when he realized Seohyun is still in the changing room. He sat at the edge of the bed, waiting patiently.

 

When the younger girl have already walks out, He put aside his kindness and quickly lifted the girl up, carrying her on his broad shoulder outside. Despite the punches he is receiving at the back, it never stopped him until into the van. His two men helped him tied her wrists and feet, then , if ever she would surprisingly scream again.

 

As they were taking the road, Seohyun is nudging In Guk to open the window. However, the latter did not give her request. She shrugs and just sulk in the corner.

 

"I can't believe you're about to die, you are enjoying this. This is the first time someone doesn't care to die." In Guk mumbles, shaking his head. Seohyun didn't answer. She looked at him only with a death glare, causing for him to roll his eyes again out of annoyance. 

 

 

 

 

2 hours later...

 

 

"They're moving - to the beach."

 

Hyoyeon almost spit on her water after she heard Yoona's words. The latter had been constantly taking glances to her phone, following that dot moving on the screen of her phone. 

 

"Damn it. What is he planning to do?!" Yoona cursed, slapping the steering wheel angrily. She had been keeping her speed fast, in order to get into the place. But she has to reverse it again because of their current status. 

 

"Oh God, hopefully she's still in good shape. I don't want to see Seohyun's bruises again." Hyoyeon can totally imagine Seohyun's image full of bruises.

 

"Either I." Yoona answered, more to herself.

 

Moments later, she had to stop the car for a traffic ahead. It's only light, so she just drives again. Keeping her speed at the fast as she could. She wasn't over speeding, just enough. 

 

"By the way, I was curious. Seohyun is obviously rebelling, why does the Seo still wants her to be the heir? Isn't that risky? She would do anything except for trouble to the company." Yoona says, softly. Eyes are concentrating on the road.

 

"That's one of my questions as well. Believe it or not, Seo's grandparents explanation is simple. She's the only girl out of their grandchild. And it looks like, she's not just giving trouble, she's giving them luck to the company. Ever since her announcement as the heir, the U.S. branch has been getting investors. It's like, she's a lucky charm? I don't know, but Seohyun's trouble in her character is not a hindrance to the company to succeed. Unless, that fire will be revealed. And how she was being sent to a rehab. I bet, the company will go down."

 

"I've realized as well, in her announcement day as the general manager the other day, only few had raise their concern. But most of the boards and shareholders agreed to her being the new general manager." Yoona said, sharing her own thoughts as well. Ever since the revelation of Seohyun's past, her interest over the girl have gone up.

 

"Oh, I haven't mention. She's a degree holder." Hyoyeon beamed with a smile.

 

"What did she finished?" Yoona instantly questioned, as she turned the car to the right. She keeps on glancing to the tracker, doesn't want to miss a single blink of it. She press the gas pedal a little harder so their speed slightly got faster.

 

"Well, since she always love music. She finished Bachelor of Science in Music."

 

"Where?"

 

"In the states."

 

"Cool."

 

"She's a classy girl now. She doesn't want to study in her own country." Hyoyeon stated fact.

 

"No wonder. Not bad though. She's using her knowledge in music in the company." Yoona reminded herself about the latter's last presentation. She was totally impress.

 

"She's indeed into club music, but she knows every kind of it. Wait 'till you hear her sing as well." Hyoyeon proudly utters.

 

"She can sing?" Yoona frowned. Somehow, never crosses her mind. Yet, she felt a bit stupid. Of course, if she does knows about music, she would probably sing a lot as well.

 

"Hehe, she has the best vocals in the world." grinned Hyoyeon.

 

"No?"

 

"Wait, You're seriously interviewing me about Seohyun, aren't you?"

 

Yoona chuckles, caught off guard. "I'm just curious. And I'm putting the atmosphere light, before the real event later."

 

"Chincha? Or you just want-"

 

"I swear! I'm only curious with that thing. You know, it's not exactly a secret that she does things according to what she likes." Yoona interrupted, as she sighed at the end.

 

"Denials." Hyoyeon says, as she suspiciously looked at Yoona's side profile. Though she doesn't know how to read someone, she can see how Yoona's eyes sparks somehow, after knowing that little details about her friend. She must be really interested to Seohyun now. "Who is the girl, in the phone though? I thought that's quiet fishy to talk like that to that someone." yet, she can't forget how Yoona sounded concern over the other girl on the phone earlier as well.

 

"Aigoo, that was a friend." Yoona said simply, before she took another glance to the screen of her phone. She was right, the tracker says it all. The dot had stop and apparently, it was on the beach.

 

"Are they now in the beach?" Hyoyeon also noticed. Her heartbeats had rapidly increase again. Scared of what is currently happening to her friend.

 

"That's obvious. Hold on your seat, over speeding." Sensing that they're about to take an empty road, Yoona warned the girl next to her. As soon as she saw Hyo hold her seat, she didn't hesitated it and over speeds.

 

I'm coming there - Stay where you are Boss. In her mind, determined to get into the place faster and faster. 

 

It's another 30 minutes of drive, they finally stopped at the side. Wherein, they can view the ocean before their eyes. They can see a ship not far from the seashore. Yoona checked on her phone again if her theory is right. 

 

"They're inside the yacht." she inquired. As she hastily approached the trunk of her and opens it. Hyoyeon came rushing to follow. "It will be useless if we will not bring some weapons." Yoona opened a tool box. Revealing a different kind of a gun. She picked up one and give it to Hyo, the latter pushed it back to her.

 

"I am not experience holding guns, ya know. I'll just stay behind the car." Hyoyeon was about to go back when Yoona pulled her back, she pouted. "Okay, I'll help you, but I will bring a baseball bat. Do you have it?" She suggested instead.

 

Yoona just put the gun at Hyo's back. "Don't use it then. That'll be my extra." She then picked up her personal gun, and a silencer to it. She rolled some bullets before closing the box and closed the trunk.

 

"Um, I don't think I can help you if--"

 

"You're my shield." Yoona joke, chuckling. At that moment then, she dragged Hyoyeon to the seashore.

 

"Aigoo, Aigoo, Im Yoona. I'm scared." Hyo is trembling, as she let the doe-eyed, taking her. She decided to protest but the girl is fast enough from capturing her back and even pushed her to the front.

 

"I SERIOUSLY NEED SOME WEAPON TOO!!! I CAN'T GO WITH YOU LIKE THIS!!!" Hyoyeon screams, protesting. 

 

Yoona got pissed. Yet, she thought Hyo is right. Looking around, she spotted some woods not far from them. "Aish!" she stomps her feet away as she picked up the wood and handed it to Hyo. "Here. Do you know how to swim?" She added.

 

"Of course." Hyo exclaimed, as she finally got her own weapon. 

 

"Good. Now, let's end this." Without a doubt, Yoona lead Hyoyeon to the sea. In which, both of them of shivers by the cold water. Hyoyeon was about to protest again when Yoona had already dived after enough distance from the shore. She groaned and defiantly followed Yoona.

 

 

 

 

[Yacht]

 

 

For the  3rd time around, Seohyun  woke  up from a long sleep, after a splash of water on her face. Likewise, she has her tie at the back, while sitting. Then there's In Guk, wearing his infamous evil smirk.  That bruise on her cheeks are somehow making her weak. But so far, she can handle it.

 

"Where are we? I can seem to smell the ocean?" she ask, bluntly.

 

"You have a good smell. We're in my yacht. And later 1am, your wait will be over." In Guk says, taking his seat in front of his laptop. Before him is his cousin. 

 

Seohyun grimace when she realized a camera facing her way. She felt so dejavu again with her new situation.

 

"Geez, Uncle Leeteuk is not answering." In Guk frustratingly says, couldn't contact the older man.

 

Seohyun who heard it sighed. "You're going to ask him for money?"

 

"No. I'm making him see what am I doing to you." In Guk bitterly answered.

 

"You're just wasting your time."

 

Couldn't take it, In Guk picked up his gun and threatened the girl. "You shut up  or I will pull the trigger?!!!"

 

"Pull the trigger." Says Seohyun bluntly.

 

In Guk did pull the trigger but to the open window in the corner, not to his cousin's head. He shrug her and continue contacting Leeteuk through a skype.

 

Seohyun smiled, as she realized she pissed her off.  Letting out a huge yawn, she decided to have a nap. But even before she could close her eyes, the door opens. Those two men she had been seeing walks in, holding a plate of delicious steak. Her stomach growl for a moment.

 

"Is that for me?" ask her with a friendly smile. And she was glad that they put the plate on top of her lap.

 

"You help yourself." The taller man says with a snicker.

 

Seohyun glared at them, as she realized, her hands are still tied behind, whilst feet are not anymore. How can she eat it? "Aigoo, can you untie me first?"

 

"You think of it. Hahahaha." The two laugh so hard as they left the room again. Seohyun wailed incredulously.

 

In Guk smiled, yet he did not comment anymore. He's busy trying to contact Leeteuk, through his phone this time. But it would only ring and ring. It looks like, the older man is asleep already? He hope not.

 

"Yah! In Guk-ah! Can you feed me?" Seohyun couldn't take it any longer and ask her cousin in her cute voice. Unfortunately for her, the boy wasn't paying attention. "Sh*t." She cursed and looked down to her lap with a sad pout. The look in the steak seems so tasty. It made her stomach growl more. Though she had dinner already - it was a bit small only, because of the smell of the blood coming from that pig. She felt so disgusted upon recalling her kind of dinner earlier. That right now, she wanted to eat this whole steak in her lap. Pulling and pushing the rope from behind her, it only made her feel the pain, gracing her wrist. She groaned and looked back at In Guk. The latter just smiled so devilishly to her. She shrugs and decided to lower her head instead. Unfortunately, she almost forgot the rope in her stomach, tying her to the chair as well. She absolutely struggle to let go, but was useless.

 

She end up dropping her shoulders, weakly. "In Guk, ah... please... just feed me. At least, you did good to me-"

 

"I'm not good, Joohyun." The address boy interrupted, as he rose from his seat and approach his cousin. He crouch down to have a look at the food. "If my men put this into your lap, the means, they want you to eat. But that's only that, if you can? If you can't, then so be it." He said and give his cousin and caress on her cheeks. 

 

Seohyun got pissed, kicked his jaw. In Guk fall back, groaning in the pain on his jaw. "YOU FEED ME, OR NOT?!" She shouted angrily.

 

In Guk was about to hit on Seohyun when he heard his phone ringing. He forcibly get on his feet and decided to take the phone, totally not in the mood anymore. "What?!" that he answered the call shouting.

 

[In Guk? You keep on calling?] Leeteuk is on the next line.

 

The voice made In Guk smiled. As if, that was the only thing he has been wishing. He quickly returned to his seat and opened the skype. "Can you log into your skype? I want you to see something, Uncle." He instructed.

 

Seohyun was listening, rolling her eyes. Not bothered anymore. She pouted sadly though, as she looked down to her food on the floor. It dropped when she kicked her cousin.

 

[No. I can't. I'm already in my bed. I'll talk to you tomorrow.]

 

"YAH! WAIT!" In Guk almost want to throw his phone out of anger. Upon hearing Seohyun's giggles, He glared at her, deathly. But Seohyun just stuck her tongue out, playfully.

 

Shrugging her off, she decided to leave the room for the meantime. Seohyun pouted again, as she find herself alone. She sighed and tried to pull her hand off of the rope again, she whined when she can't even do it. The rope on her waist was even that tighter. There's no way she's gonna leave her seat and somehow ask for food. 

 

She could simply wait... wait... and wait... Until her cousin went back, with his two men. Before she knows it, she was untied from her seat. 

 

"Where are we going this time?" She freaks out. But she was unheard anymore as the two men dragged her to the empty barrel. She wants to protest but too late, she was lifted up and put her inside the barrel. 

 

Seconds later, the barrel was covered. That very moment then, Seohyun's heartbeats fastens. Her mind only had one thing - In Guk is going to drop her to the ocean and let her drown there to death. With that imagination in her mind, she got scared to death. Her legs are trembling, yet, she tried to push the cover open. "YAH! IN GUK-AH!!! DON'T DO THIS TO MEEE!!!" She punch, push and punch. She keeps doing the same process over and over again.

 

However, it was all useless. She can feel the barrel has already been lifted in the air. And yes, foot steps can be heard. She suddenly felt scared more. Especially when she can hear obvious waves from the ocean. She goosebumps. She hugs her knees, as her chest is becoming so heavy now. Never did she thought In Guk will actually do this. But he seems to be so serious. " YOU IN GUK!!!" screamed her, on top of her lungs. Catching on her breath, she finally, broke down to tears.

 

Meanwhile, outside - In Guk had finally click on a button. In which, a machine was - lifting up the barrel slowly to the air through a pulley. Apparently,  it was hanging above the sea.

 

"Now, let's see if that idiot assistant will show herself." In Guk smirked, watching the barrel swings a little up in the air. It looks like, Seohyun is moving inside, making it swinging.

 

"I doubt if she can still hide." One of his men says, as he positioned himself. Waiting for any moment someone (?) will attack them from the sea. It has been a while since they discovered that someone has been watching over them in the yacht. Either under the sea or they're in a small boat. But so far, they can't see any boat.

 

In Guk looked down to the buttons of the machine and to the barrel. If he's going to push the green button next to the red one, it will release it's hold from the barrel. A moment later, he heard a sound. Turning on his back, he frowned to see his two men on the floor already, groaning in pain. Their enemy had shot them both on the legs and stomach, losing both of their consciousness.

 

"Freeze!" Yoona and Hyo emerge behind a metal wall. The doe-eyed girl is pointing her gun to In Guk.

 

Alertly, In Guk pulled out his gun behind him and pointed it to Yoona as well. "I think it's you who should freeze here. I did not see this coming, eh? You guys are so fast. Where did you guys hid?" He says, as he keep his place behind the controller of the machine.

 

Yoona and Hyoyeon is apparently staring intensely to In Guk. However, Yoona noticed a barrel hanging on up there, above the sea. "Who's inside?" which she couldn't help it and questioned. Gun is still pointing to the latter.
