It was almost midnight when Yoona finally decided to call it a night. She wasn't supposed to stopped by the shadow hunters' headquarters but she remembers the 'fried chicken' she ask in return for the night's mission she finished.

 

She just casually went inside a cafe and a barista handed her a paper cup of americano she always loves to drink while she proceeds at the back door which proceeds to a lift that will take her down, all the way to the headquarters.

 

A couple of shadow hunter greeted her but she remained quiet and doesn't even care to greet back until she saw her father talking to one of the shadow hunter's director. They're discussing inside the war room. which means it will take time to talk to him.

 

'I'm just here for some fried chicken.' She thought with a sigh and sad pout before sipping on her hot drink.

 

"Yah!"

 

A sudden bumped behind her almost cause her to throw the cup on her face. "Aish, stop doing that to me!" She scolded instinctively and hit her arm, but she only earns her snickers. "When did you come, Yuring?" She rolled her eyes, taking a seat on the sofa at the center of their headquarters. Yuri, who she had been friends with since high school is one of them. She learned it a bit late through Seohyun.

 

Yuri took her seat next to the deer casually. "Couple of hours ago. Just made some errands for this senior shadow hunters." She said as she eyed the older shadow hunter. "By the way, how's school?"

 

Yoona looked at her friend in disbelief. "How was... my calculus you mean? Aigoo, math will forever follow me even in college. I'm just a Chemistry Student."

 

"Well, you just said it." Yuri mumbles as she took her phone out and showed something to the deer.

 

"What?" Yoona took the latter's phone right away. "You got in?" It was a ticket to a known club in Seoul which suspects to be owned by werewolves. They've been monitoring their activities from the outside but none of the shadow hunter has yet to get a ticket to have access inside.

 

Yuri slides her phone on the right to reveal another ticket. "And you're going with me." She whispers huskily earning a big smirk from the doe-eyed. "When's your free time?"

 

Yoona handed back her phone and took her own device out of her pocket and check the schedule she has. She has tutorials as usual on her math but she also has classes to young nephillims. "The next days and nights are almost pack, quite hard to squeeze this mission in between. Unless I'll cancel all of these."

 

"No problem, take your time. Your father isn't on a rush. Especially that these werewolves aren't doing anything bad yet. But we have to make sure they won't so it's still important to go and remind them."

 

"I see." Taking a glance to her father, the deer sighs. "My fried chicken is cold by now."

 

"What?" Yuri chuckled. She turned her head to where the doe-eyed is staring at and returned her attention to latter. "You ask him to buy you food again, didn't you?"

 

Yoona shamelessly nodded. "I'm craving for Spicy Fried Chicken."

 

"Why don't you come home? Your mother will definitely cook you that."

 

"Nah." She shakes her head. "I don't want to disturb her. Appa should buy me." She giggles.

 

"Wait, you mentioned about nephillim should have someone they want to spend the rest of their lives before the age of 30, right?" Yuri suddenly remembers this girl that really capture her attention when she was strolling around the city on day light. She decided to quit school and focus on being a shadow hunter.

 

"Why? You already have someone?" Yoona teasingly smiled while playing.

 

"I saw this girl two days ago." Yuri check her phone and opens her gallery to browse that one picture she took and showed it to the Yoona. "Isn't she pretty?"

 

Yoona raises her eyebrows as she looks closer to the lady, standing in the side of the street, waiting for the bus to arrive just like other humans. "Isn't this Jessica Jung?"

 

"You-You know her?" Yuri got a new hope to know the girl.

 

"She's... she's one of the junior students in my school. She's in arts and design department. Last year, she was their respresentative for our school's intramurals. She even won to that and I think that was the reason some model agency is trying to get her. Why did you suddenly become interested?" Yoona curiously asks. "She's a human by the way." But she reminded at the same time.

 

"She just caught my attention... well besides her beauty, she has the heart to cats. And who knows I will be like our president? Marrying a human despite being a vampire."

 

"Only that?"

 

"Why? Is there any more reason to like someone? Like the way you like Seohyun?" Yuri unconsciously mentioned the vampire which made Yoona look at her in displease and she stand up, left her to the pantry. "Oops."

 

A heavy sigh left the doe-eyed's lips as she the coffee maker. She pulled her sleeve on her left gently to see the tattoo of Seohyun's name on her wrist. She felt her heart tighten as she chuckled bitterly, recalling how she got the tattoo.

 

Flashback...

 

Yoona is so excited for their school's Halloween party. Her excitement is double this time unlike the previous years because she's going with someone she had been dating for a couple of months. She took one last look on her mirror before heading out and revealed her pumpkin costume to Seohyun, who was wearing a munchkin costume.

 

"Kyaa, so cute." She spazz as she couldn't resist and hug her. But only for a couple of seconds because the latter pushed her off gently. "Waeyo?"

 

Seohyun is pouting as she took a seat on her bed. "I'm not going." She changes her mind since she thought of the students' reaction if they saw her costume. "I won't, they will laugh at me."

 

"Are you kidding me?" Yoona chuckled in disbelief. "They will like you, munchkin." She giggles as she decided to call her that.

 

"Munchkin?" The young vampire's eyebrows raise. It was too sudden to hear it from her.

 

"You are a cute munchkin." Said Yoona as she pinched her cheek. "Listen, don't mind the others because they their selves will wear a funny costume. Yours is not, it's cute and pretty." She tried to cheer up on her.

 

"No."

 

"Yes. Because you will the best costume for this year's Halloween party."

 

"It's a No, Pumpkin!" Seohyun playfully called the deer, moving away from her girlfriend.

 

Yoona moves closer and kiss her cheek. "Munchkin will go because Pumpkin will not be happy. And she will be lonely if she's not going." She sweetly whispers earning the young vampire's hit on her shoulder. "She's going now." She tickles her on her stomach. "She's going now. She's going now."

 

Seohyun giggles while trying to stop the deer. "F-Fine!" That she ends up complying, getting up on the process. "Aish. I hate you." She then marches her way to the door.

 

"Yay! My munchkin is back!" Yoona victoriously caught up with her girlfriend and took her hand.

 

"You're a cute pumpkin too." Seohyun giggles as she finally told her how cute her date is.

 

"Chincha? You just realize that?"

 

"Yah!" She literally hit her again lightly earning stuck of her tongue. She smiled right away when she kisses her cheek.

Everyone in school are just as creative as them. Mostly are dressing as vampires and Dracula, which made Seohyun like she's belong.

 

"Unnie, you're munchkin? How cute." Yeri approached them while they're looking for a cocktail table to stay.

 

"You're cute with your snowman costume too." Seohyun praises back as she plays with the carrot nose on Yeri's costume.

 

"Was there any available table, Yeri-ah?" Yoona asks the younger girl while her eyes are around the place.

 

"There is next to ours."

 

"Can you guide, Seohyun there?"

 

"Sure, Yoona Unnie." Yeri smiled brightly.

 

"What about you?" Seohyun however is worried.

 

"I'll get us food. Be back before you know it." Yoona wink as she reluctantly let go of her girlfriend's hand. As the two left, she went to the buffet and check their foods, which is only for her.

 

"Oh look who is a pumpkin." Seulgi couldn't help and friend again when she saw her getting food.

 

"Elsa from Frozen?" Yoona chuckled back and give a hi-5 with her. "Where's Channie?"

 

"Should ask that too." Seulgi sighs, she casually took a plate for herself. "I called her earlier but he won't pick up. Guess what? He will surprise us."

 

"Why would he?" The doe-eyed moves to the next buffet and check what is there to put on her plate.

 

"He mentioned yesterday he's going to play with his band." Seulgi continued while she's also grabbing some food.

 

"So, this music filling up the place isn't only the music people will enjoy?"

 

"Yup. Guess? He will mess up again." She chuckled softly.

 

"Didn't he practice drums already?"

 

"He did but he's not that good unlike, Kwon Yuri."

 

Yoona pause upon hearing the name of a former teammate. She looked at Seulgi and the latter is looking at somewhere. She followed her gazes and realize Yuri is talking with her girlfriend. "I already told you. I can help you get that Kwon." she teases her friend immediately.

 

"Yah!" Seulgi didn't think twice and hit her friend on her left arm, almost making her dropped her plate. "Stop teasing me with her. She's older than me. Aish!"

 

"What's the problem with that? Aigoo, she's single and really talented unlike Channie." Yoona chuckled earning a smack on her head on her right. She turned just to see Chanyeol glaring at her.

 

"I'm not going to play with my band today." Chanyeol shared apologetically. "Yuri and the music club will play later." And sadly sighs. She follows her friends and got a plate for himself.

 

"Well. See you around guys." Yoona said and casually left to return to her girlfriend. She intentionally squeezes herself between Seohyun and Yuri as she place the plate on the table. "Did I miss something?"

 

"She's a nephillim." Seohyun didn't even think twice and she told the deer. Yuri approach her to grab the chance and confess who is she really is.

 

Yoona looked at Yuri in disbelief. "Seriously?"

 

"I'm sorry. I have to hide it. But my intention is good. I just had to learn if I can trust you two since I sensed you guys are supernatural like me." Yuri sheepishly explained. "But I was proven right that I can trust you too."

 

"We've been a teammate for almost three years and I never sensed anything about you. How'd you do that?" Yoona is totally shock yet amazed at the same time.

 

"Parents taught me on how to keep my presence unknown." Yuri smugly smiled. "But how are you dating a vampire, Yoona?" She asks in a whisper to her friend. She knows about rules and that might give a problem to their relationship.

 

"Wae? Is there anything wrong? Nothing is bad." Yoona innocently replied.

 

"What are you guys talking?" Seohyun butted to their conversation.

 

"I just told her about dating you. You know, Yoona's not a good person, Seohyun." Yuri chuckled as she jokes about it.

 

"Who told you Yoona's bad?" Seohyun doesn't like it. "She's been a good girlfriend to me." And defends her without a pause.

 

"Wait, you told her we're a couple?" Yoona is once again surprised because Seohyun is casually telling Yuri that she's her girlfriend when she knows she's keeping it from everyone. Even Seulgi and Chanyeol doesn't know yet.

 

Seohyun nodded. "I just have to." And smile proudly. "She asks about you after confessing she's one of you. So, I have to confess as well."

 

"You trusted her that easily?"

 

"Why not? She had been a good friend and mentor of mine. Come on,Yoongie. Nothing is wrong with that, right?"

 

"Okay, okay." Yoona smiled sweetly as she finally got convinced. "But I still have to look onto you." She turned to Yuri and pointed at her. "I'll ask my father about you to make sure you're telling us the truth." She declared.

 

"Mr. Im, the great Shadow Hunter of his time. You can even contact him now." Yuri said while wiggling her eyebrows. She's confident enough her father will just confirm her real identity.

 

"Aigoo, whatever." Yoona brushed off and took one piece of pizza from her plate to finally have her bite.

 

"My smoothie, pumpkin?" Seohyun pouted sadly looking at her girlfriend's face.

 

"Omo, it's on the scooter. Wait." Yoona hastily put the pizza down and headed outside. She scolded herself mentally for forgetting her girlfriend's food. She reached on her scooter without any problem. But she dropped the tumbler when she felt itchy on her left wrist, on her pulse part. "Ah." And she yelped in pain when it got intense. She pulled her sleeve and gasped to see a text is slowly forming. It's more like a tattoo in korean text. She closed her eyes tight as she holds her wrist, enduring the pain. Sweats are slowly forming on her forehead as it keeps going for the next couple of minutes.

 

"Seohyun?" She catches on her breath while looking at her tattoo that glistens briefly. "Why... is this.. " Her heart is beating fast, confuse with what's happening to her wrist.

 

"Yoona? What are you doing there?" Upon hearing Seulgi's voice, she quickly rolled her sleeve back and picked up the tumbler.

 

"Seulgi-ah? What are you doing here too?" She asks as she faces her while smiling a little.

 

"Tumbler?"

 

"S-Seohyun's." She stammers.

 

"I see. Anyway, the host already started the event. You should return inside now." Seulgi informs as she passes on her friend.

 

"What about you?" Yoona yelled.

 

"I'm just going to get my camera from the car."

 

"Okay. See you around." Without waiting for her friend's response, Yoona jogs back inside, still feeling itchy with the tattoo on her pulse. She just ignored it until she reached their table again.

 

Happy Seohyun just thanked her girlfriend and enjoy her own food while the deer enjoyed her pizza.

Suddenly when everyone is enjoying the party dancing with the music the band is creating, power shuts down and cause everyone to gasp and scared.

 

"What's happening?"

 

"Someone turn the power back!"

 

"Where are you guys?!"

 

And everyone panics when they heard howl from a werewolf. Students started to leave the place when the big entrance door opens and a strong wind enters, including their teachers and school staffs. Seohyun and Yoona who had been sticking with each other, couldn't help and hold each other's hands tightly, as they stayed on their place, letting everyone leave. They sense someone will enter the ballroom as the wind keeps blowing from the outside. They can hear the rain is starting to give a noise.

 

"Is it really a werewolf?" Seohyun whispers to her girlfriend and the latter stepped ahead to protect her. She held Yoona's shirt as she keeps waiting like her.

 

Soon, two werewolves entered the ballroom, looking straight at them with obvious furious face.

 

"Do you know how we have been waiting for this?" One of the wolves ask as they keep walking calmly to them but never leaving their eyes on the nephillim before them. "Two different hybrid fell in love with each other."

 

"Who would have thought? An innocent nephillim and an innocent vampire. You just made it easy for us to-"

 

"What are you guys talking about?" Yoona cut one of the wolf's words, confuse and nervous at the same time. She wanted to just kick them away but she's curious with their words.

 

"There was a prophecy that to be able for the demons of shadow world to be open, a tattoo on a shadow hunter's body should happen."

 

"That tattoo should be a name from a downworlder. And you happen to have that. How cool is that?"

 

"You should come with us and let the prophecy happen."

 

Without any more words, the two werewolves attacked them. Yoona instinctively grabs Seohyun on her wrist as they jump as high as them to avoid the attack. Without wasting time, they runaway together, under the thunder and rain that comes with it. The two werewolves chase them
