Drifting and Missing
Fantasia vs CuddlesKyungsoo raised his fist but on second thought, he put his hand down and shifted his weight to his left foot and raised his fist once more. The door in front of him seems to grow farther from him when it has always been stationary. He in a deep breath and brought his hand on the door with two firm knocks. He placed his ear on the door to listen closely for any response but there was only silence. He sighed.
Is he asleep? He wondered but just to try out his luck, he tried again and this time, there was a grunt in reply and Kyungsoo knows that that is all he could get from the owner of the room.
“Do I bring your dinner in?” it’s not like he is waiting for any answer because he will still be bringing food to his bestfriend whether he likes it or not. But since he is feeling a little considerate, he let the other have a clue of what he is going to do. He turned around and headed back to the kitchen to fetch the tray of food that he has left on the kitchen counter. Jongin smiled up to him when the younger saw the elder appearing once again.
“I hope you didn’t mind me helping myself to your cupcakes, beautiful,” Jongin grinned sheepishly and the frosting that was a bit smudged at the corner of his lip was enough evidence against him. Kyungsoo rolled his eyes because after all this time and all the cupcakes that Jongin has eaten, it was certainly a miracle that he didn’t gain unnecessary weight.
“That’s nothing new,” Kyungsoo remarked still but he tiptoed a little bit so that he could the frosting off of Jongin. The latter blinked thrice before he registered what has just happened and Kyungsoo cackled. “Are you seriously going blushy on me, Kim Jongin?”
“You’re lucky I love you,” Jongin grumbled as he willed his blush to go away. His hand automatically went to Kyungsoo’s nape but instead of pulling his boyfriend in for a deep kiss that he craves with every breath, he controlled himself. He started massaging the elder’s neck because he knows how much it relaxes Kyungsoo. The effect is immediate as the doe eyed male’s shoulders slumped a little. “Is everything okay?”
“Can you hold on to that thought? I need to bring Yeol his food,” a small but tender hand held on to Jongin’s hand on Kyungsoo’s neck. The elder raised it a little and kissed it while looking into Jongin’s eyes with a warm expression before he let it down to get the tray and deliver it by the door to Chanyeol’s room
“Yeol, just open up. I got you food. Please eat it all, okay?” Kyungsoo reminded his bestfriend who had been always cooped up inside his room for the past week and he is worried. The last time that Chanyeol has a normal conversation with them, he has mentioned something about finishing a paper that is ing important and after that, he only comes out when he has classes which is just for short periods of time. Being in his last year in college, the classes are pretty scarce but the amount of work is humongous.
“I think that Chanyeol hyung is just fine, Kyungie baby,” Jongin did the massage on Kyungsoo once again and the elder just closed his eyes and let his muscles loosen as they slumped on the sofa in the living room. The younger has just come from his classes and was also tired but he doesn’t mind doing something like this for his boyfriend. He knows how Kyungsoo is really worried for his giant dorky bestfriend who has started to act like a hermit in hiding.
“I hope you’re right.”
“You worry too much, Do Kyungsoo. Hyung is old enough to take care of himself,” the younger pulled his boyfriend closer to plant a kiss at the top of his head.
Kyungsoo smacked Jongin’s chest and rolled his eyes, “I know that. It’s just that…” he bit his lip and continued, “I know that his lovelife isn’t as its peak right now.”
“Didn’t you say something that they are having a pretty hard time in China right now?” Jongin tilted his head in question as he rubbed Kyungsoo’s arm gently.
The elder nodded. It has been the talk at work for almost a month already. Donghae and Eunhyuk were keeping tabs on the business aspect of the situation and they said that some of the Xi Group businesses were threatened by small scale mafia organizations in an attempt to show power now that Marcus Wu is not around anymore. He could not imagine responsibility like that to be entrusted to him so he really doesn’t blame Luhan and Kris for being too occupied with everything. He has just shrugged at Sehun because to be honest, the kid hasn’t been functioning properly ever since Luhan has flown to China. Maybe he did become a little better when his boyfriend came for his high school graduation but he came back to being like a zombie when Luhan had left. Kyungsoo assumes that there were not much communication in between them, being the younger has buried himself into schoolwork and is shooting up to the ranks in their university bulletin.
His first semester has been overloaded but for some reason, he was still able to survive though Kyungsoo wonders how Sehun eats, sleeps and studies in between all
