Too Good to be True
Fantasia vs CuddlesEunhyuk needs to do something. It has been slow progress with his plan and if he doesn’t do anything as soon as possible, it would already feel like losing. His plan should’ve been set in motion already but he can’t come up with a good idea. He has kept pestering Junmyeon about Fantasia but his store manager will just shake his head and claim that Fantasia is pretty exclusive so no information could be gathered about them.
They could’ve easily looked for patrons of Fantasia but for some reason, they are being annoyingly faithful to the rules. What’s with them, anyway? All these secret bull is getting on his nerves. He was never a fan of secrets because secrets comes with deception. That is the one thing that Eunhyuk really, really, really hates. Liars.
And Lee ing Donghae is the best of them all.
And he, Lee Hyukjae/Lee Eunhyuk, will get even.
He won’t do it by lying too. No, of course not. He’s not a liar after all and he hates liars, doesn’t he? But Eunhyuk has made it his life’s mission to teach that little er that lying is bad. Especially to the person who you’ve led on for years, saying that empty promises, showing fake affection and claiming lies.
He entered his shop just before it closes so that he could talk to Junmyeon about any progress on their plan to trample Fantasia, the only thing that Donghae really loves. The place is now quiet sans the soft jingling of the wind chimes that hung by the door. Jongin, the kid with sun kissed skin, fantastic jawline and screams playboy by just mopping the floor, looked up and bowed down in greeting. He looked distracted though so Eunhyuk returned the gesture by just a curt nod and the boy continued what he was doing.
Eunhyuk was about to turn to Junmyeon’s office by the kitchens when he heard an angels singing. He pinched himself to check if he wasn’t dreaming because he’s sure that he’s not yet dead to be hearing those wonderful voices. It seems to be coming from the kitchen so that’s where he headed. He almost tiptoed in fear that the voices will stop. After what seemed like hours, he successfully made it to the kitchen and he liked what he saw.
There, perched at the table in the middle of the kitchen, is Eunhyuk’s adorable pastry chef and another guy who’s a little bit taller than his chef with a boyish look and eyeliner. They are harmonizing to a song that he has never heard but it didn’t stop him from loving it altogether. The duo were oblivious to another presence that joined them and they continued sending off melodious notes that goes straight to the heart and making anybody listening to swoon over their god sent voices.
“They’re really good, right, hyung?” Junmyeon asked Eunhyuk who looked entranced, standing by the kitchen and eyeing Kyungsoo and Baekhyun who were singing.
“Yeah, I didn’t know Soo could sing like that,” Eunhyuk mused as he unwillingly stepped out of the kitchen and faced Junmyeon.
“Hey, it was written in his résumé and didn’t Ryeowook hyung tell you?” the younger chuckled as he led his boss towards his office, spotting Jongin leaning on the mop that he was holding with his eyes closed. Probably internally fanboying over Kyungsoo again.
“Should’ve figured out that it runs in the family,” Eunhyuk replied, thinking back to his friend who recommended Kyungsoo to him. He has been proud of his younger cousin and Eunhyuk trusts Ryeowook. He’s glad that he did. “Who’s the other kid, by the way?”
“Ah, that’s Baekhyun, Kyungsoo’s bestfriend and housemate. Actually, I’ve been meaning to tell you something and since you’re already here, can you please hear me out?” Junmyeon motioned for Eunhyuk to sit down on one of the chairs by his desk and he sat on the other across.
“Go on, dear,” the elder sat back and crossed his legs, waiting.
“I’m thinking of letting those two sing here. Baekhyun’s currently looking for work so I figured that we could help him.”
“How about Kyungsoo and his kitchen?”
“Soo could join him when he’s free.”
“And why did you think of this, Junmyeon-ssi?”
“I think this will be to our advantage. Well, Fantasia doesn’t have entertainment aside from their employees’ appearances, right? This could be out edge and with the talent of Soo and Baekhyun, it’ll be a hit, I’m certain,” Junmyeon finished and he let out the breath that he had been holding.
He has thought of this the first time that he heard those two sing. With this, he’s not actually destroying Fantasia (god forbid, Yixing loves his work there) but this idea will be boosting Sweet Cuddles’ popularity. He watched as Eunhyuk pondered on his suggestion and before he could even feel nervous and doubt his suggestion, his boss is leaning towards him and shaking his hands excitedly.
“You’re the best, my dear!” Eunhyuk ruffled his hair with a big smile on his face. “Have them started real soon, okay?”
