Chanyeol is dead tired. It’s not that his part-time work at Cuddles is taking its toll on him because he likes his job there. He likes to talk to people, something that he got from his parents. The reason why he was getting tired is because of a certain hot, faced gramps (he calls Chanyeol a kid so why not play with his age too, right?) who kept his mind occupied these days. Ever since the night that he has been chased away from the gramps’ apartment, Chanyeol felt like something is really missing.

          He has been going to and from Kris’ apartment days before their fall out but it’s not like he has been doing that for a long time. He has just met Kris not less than a month ago so isn’t crazy to grow attached to Kris in just that short period of time? That is basically stupid because how did he trust someone who is practically a stranger? How could he even like that stranger when he didn’t show signs of liking him back. If anything, Kris was pretty clear that Chanyeol was just an unwelcome guest everytime he’s there in his apartment.

          But Kris was smiling at his stupid jokes. Kris was listening to his pathetic stories. Kris kept opening his door for him even though he has always reminded to not come anymore. That ought to mean something, right? Chanyeol ruffled his hair in exasperation. Of course, it could mean that the guy is okay to being friends and of course, Chanyeol had to ruin things by being a loud mouth and announcing that he likes Kris more than friends would.

          Chanyeol is not a liar, his lawyer of a mother instilled that in him, that’s why he saw no reason to lie about his feelings. But look at where it has gotten him! He looked up and he found himself in front of the shop where he first met Kris; he’s even wearing the stupid jacket that had somehow made them meet that day. He chuckled darkly. It all started with a jacket, how dramatic. With a scoff, he his heels and proceeded to go home because it’s already getting late. Maybe he should already talk to Kyungsoo about this. His bestfriend had been throwing him worried looks but he knows that Kyungsoo is just waiting for him to open up himself. He owes that much to his bestfriend.

          “Chanyeol-ssi?” the called boy turned around and he saw the store owner, slightly panting and holding out a hand to him to stop him from moving further.

          “Noona?” he walked back to where the owner was catching her breath and clutching a brown paper bag in one of her hands.

          “I’m so glad that I caught you finally!” she beamed and she pushed the package she was holding to Chanyeol’s surprised hands.

          “Uhmm, what is this, noona?”

          “That’s for you.”

          “Uhh, I don’t remember buying anything from your store, noona,” Chanyeol scratched his head but he did peek inside the bag and he saw that it was a black snapback. The child in him was doing a celebratory dance at the sight of the accessory. Chanyeol loves snapbacks more than he loves jackets.

          “Mr. Wu asked me to give it to you,” a pang of jealousy marred her smile but she quickly hid it. The boy decided to just shrug it off and he spied what looked like a card inside the paper bag.

          “Did he say anything else?” his stupid heartbeats quickened at the knowledge that Kris has left him a gift but he’s still thinking if he should accept the gift or not. Kris has kicked him out so why would he give him this? Maybe as a peace offering. If that’s the case then he’s not a total . And how did he know what to get Chanyeol?

          “He just said to make sure that you read the card inside. Now if you’ll excuse me. Good night Chanyeol-ssi,” the store owner noona excused herself leaving Chanyeol with the brown paper bag and scattered thoughts. Running out of options and being too tired to think of anything, he just took the snapback and wore it. It was perfect, just the way he likes it.
