CHAPTER  eight  “Lay”

Jaelin woke up feeling better than she ever did. She didn't just felt full of energy, she was automatically in a good mood as well. It was quite odd, regarding the fact that she always felt like she never really slept while waking up. But this time it was different.

Stretching out comfortably, Jaelin stood up and went to her bathroom taking a relaxing hot shower. She was sure that the healer must have used his powers on her. Her sleep was just great.

Stepping out of her room after some minutes she walked into the kitchen with her hair still wet.

"You will catch a cold like that." A voice greeted her. Looking at Lay she found him smiling at her, going back to set the table. "Good Morning."

"Morning." She simply greeted, ignoring his first remark.

Sighing while shaking his head, he placed the last plate on the table before disappearing into the bathroom, Jaelin's confused gaze not leaving him. Coming out a moment after with a towel, he ordered her to sit down, which she did reluctantly.

"I know what you want to do, but..."

"I won't stop." Lay interrupted her simply and started to dry her hair with the towel.

Closing her eyes Jaelin actually quite enjoyed it, a small smile forming on her lips. The happenings of the last days were quite strange. "Who would've thought things would come out like this." She commented.

"What do you mean?" He asked softly.

"Twelve mates. Have I twelve mates? Is that even possible?" She asked back.

"Yeah, actually there is," Lay told her. "Purebloods are the minority, but they can have many kids hence more mates."

"Does that mean I am probably not the only mate you guys will have?" The thought of sharing the boys was somehow making her angry. She felt possessive.

Sensing her disdain Lay chuckled. "No need to get so moody, my dear." He whispered amused. "You are and will be the only one." He gently kissed her cheek making her turn her now red face away from him. " I think we forgot to tell you that having more mates is because of the fact that they have many siblings or cousins that were born around the same year. And the last time I checked you were an only child."

"So no other girls?" Laughing now loud heartedly Lay hugged her from behind confirming the asked question.

"No, just you."

Having Breakfast with someone on a Saturday morning was quite nice. Being used to eating alone, this was something new. It made her feel warm. Was this finally a change for her? Would she never be alone from now on?

Not letting her touch anything, Lay made sure that Jaelin wouldn't move a finger to help him clean or do some of the chores. He wanted her to relax and let others do something for her for once, so he did everything.

Jaelin wasn't someone that could lazily sit around though, which made her quite bored. Laying on the couch she looked at the ceiling, buried deep in her own thoughts.

Was it something good now to have mates or not? Well, that was something she would surely know after spending time with them, right? Either way, she was fascinated by the fact that there was indeed something called vampires and the aspect that they are an entirely different race made it even more interesting.

However, was she ready? For a life with supernatural creatures with strange powers and such? Could she leave Earth forever to live on another planet without even knowing how it would be like there? Could she possibly love all twelve equally? Would she be able to? So many questions and she can't even answer one of them.

"I know that it's hard to accept it. I don't understand how much, but I can relate." Lay suddenly appeared beside her, sitting on the ground. "So thank you for trying."

Looking to her side at him she whispered back. "No need. There is a part of me that wants to know how this feels." Having the sudden urge to touch him, she extended her right hand and played with his fluffy dark brown hair. It was nice...to be honest, everything that had to do with the boys was nice, felt good. But that didn't mean she didn't felt weirded out of uneasy.

Lay savoured the feeling of her touch. His heart palpating. If he felt so nervous, when she was just playing with his hair, then he would directly die when she hugged him or came any closer than she is now.

"Having fun there?" He smiled brightly.

"Indeed." She smiled back. "Your hair is way fluffier than mine, I'm jealous."

"Come with me to the vampire world and I will sh
