Based on Yixing's instagram update

Yixing checked the time on the clock that was hanging on the wall in their living room. Minseok had gone to bed already so it was just him and Jongdae. Currently they were cuddling on the sofa, still dressed from the time they had come back from dinner with the members. Jongdae was curled up on Yixing's lap, head against his chest and hands curling around his jumper. Yixing had his arms wrapped around his boyfriend, chin under his head, bringing him as close to him as possible, just cherishing the moment. It was a rare opportunity, so they both thought they'd grasp it.

Reluctantly, Yixing unwound his arms causing Jongdae to groan in protest. "Come on."

"Nooooo~" Jongdae tried to burrow himself further into Yixing's chest.

Yixing almost gave in, almost. "I want to take you somewhere."

Jongdae hid his face in Yixing's chest and shook his head stubbornly. But Yixing was nothing if not determined, he stood up with Jongdae in his arms and calmly walked towards the door.

Jongdae looked up from Yixing's chest when he realised what the older was doing and started hitting his shoulders. "Yixing no, your waist. Put me down, I promise I'll follow." Yixing deposited his boyfriend gently on to the ground and helped him into a hoodie. "Where are we going?"

Yixing flashed him a grin that made Jongdae's breath catch in his throat. "It's a secret."

He grabbed Jongdae's hand and pulled him out of their dorm. Thankfully the paparazzi and the fans have yet to find out where they live so they could hold hands and go outside without disguises and have no fear of being discovered. It wouldn't matter even if they were found, fans would always have their crazy theories and ships and the paparazzi had thought Taemin and Jongin were dating but due to most people thinking that gay idols didn't exist, it was chalked up to nothing more than friendship.

Yixing didn't take Jongdae very far, it was only to the convenience store right next to their dorm. He made Jongdae wait outside with a promise to keep his eyes closed until Yixing said he could open them.

"You can open them now." Yixing said to Jongdae once he came back.

Jongdae's eyes fluttered open, a slow smile graced his face once he saw what his boyfriend had brought him. Yixing held two matcha and raspberry bubble teas in one hand and the other held a toffee and coffee cupcake.

"Happy birthday baobei."

Jongdae grabbed his raspberry bubble tea and kissed Yixing on the cheek. "Thank you."

"I'm sorry there's no candle but you can still make a wish."

Jongdae squeezed his eyes shut and wished hard. When he was done, he took the cupcake from Yixing, ate half of it in one go and then forcefully fed Yixing the other half.

"What did you wish for?" Yixing asked once he managed to swallow down dessert.

Jongdae slyly grinned at him. "I can't tell you~ Otherwise, it won't come true."

They walked back to the dorm in comfortable silence, hand in hand, drinking their bubble tea.

"I'm sorry I haven't been around lately." Yixing said suddenly.

Jongdae bit his lip as a guilty expression crossed his face. "Would you think badly of me if I said I didn't really notice? Don't get me wrong, I miss you when you're not here but I'm so busy I don't really notice until I slow down."

Yixing nodded in understanding. "I get it. It's the same for me, your lack of presence in my life is only truly felt when I'm alone."

"Or at night." Jongdae said quietly.

Yixing squeezed his hand. "I want to promise that I'll make more time for us or that it'll be better in a few months but we both know that it might not be true."

Jongdae squeezed back. "I understand. As long as I still get random messages everyday and a few phone calls now and then, I'm ok. Just promise me that..."

"That?"

Jongdae turned away. "No it's embarrassing."

"Please~" Yixing puffed out his cheeks and stared at Jongdae with wide eyes.

Jongdae burst out laughing. Once he calmed down he looked down at his shoes. "Promise me you won't forget me."

Yixing tilted his head up so that Jongdae was looking into his eyes. "I promise. I also promise to love you forever."

"Forever is a long time."

Yixing looked thoughtful for a moment. "Well Mr Kim, I need my heart to survive and since you have it, I guess you're stuck with me until the end of time."

"Why are you so cheesy?" Jongdae whined.

Yixing mocked an offended look. "It's your fault, you shouldn't have gone and taken my heart. Now you must face the consequences!"

Jongdae groaned and shoved Yixing. "Why do I put up with you?"

Yixing hugged Jongdae tightly and kissed the top of his head. "Because you love me."

Jongdae couldn't help but smile at him and return a kiss to his lips. "Because I love you."

It's not yet the 21st in my time zone but I'm in uni all day tomorrow so I won't have time to post anything for my child's birthday so I'm doing it now. I'll try and update again before I go to sleep because it's Jongdae's 23rd (24th in Korea) birthday.
