Based on the fact that poor Xing didn't get to  go home for Chinese New Year even though he really wanted to. Dumplings part because Lay updated his weibo talking about eating dumplings on new year's day. 

Just before leaving for their group practise, Jongdae picks up his phone and calls Mrs Zhang.

"Happy new year Mrs Zhang!" he exclaims in Mandarin as soon as she picks up.

Mrs Zhang laughs sweetly. "Thank you Zhongda. Happy new year."

"I was thinking about making Yixing a new year's day feast, would you mind texting me the recipes please?" Jongdae had spent time rehearsing what he was going to say so that he didn't slip up.

"Of course. My baby boy is so lucky to have you."

Jongdae blushes before stammering a reply that he needs to get to practise and politely hanging up.

True to her word, Mrs Zhang texted Jongdae special recipes that she would make for new year's day. Jongdae sends the text to Luhan to translate to Korean. Practise ended early and the members were given leave to go home if they wished. Considering that only 4 members families lived in Seoul, only Chanyeol, Joonmyun, Sehun and Jongin would get to go home. Sehun and Jongin told the group that they'd head home after a few more hours of practise. Yixing decided to stay back too and Minseok decided to stay with him to make sure he didn't over do it but also to text Jongdae when they finished.

The rest of the EXO members decided to help Jongdae with the new year's day feast. They helped him with the shopping, cooking and the setting up. When Yixing and Minseok returned, Yixing was thoroughly surprised.

"What's all of this?" he asked.

"Happy new year!" they shouted back in Mandarin.

Jongdae skipped to Yixing and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "I know how much you wanted to go home for the new year so I called your mother and asked her for recipes to your favourite dishes. The members helped me."

Baekhyun came and hugged Yixing. "I know we're not your family hyung, but would you mind celebrating new year's day with us?"

Yixing gave him a tight hug back. "I'd love to. And you guys are kind of like family."

"Here Yixing." Minseok said as he handed him a red envelope. Yixing smiled before opening it to find a USB. "It has a programme installed into it so it automatically backs up all your work so you won't ever lose your compositions again."

Yixing gave him a hug and a peck on the cheek. "Thank hyung!"

Jongdae frowned and held him possessively. "Can you not."

Both Yixing and Minseok laughed before ruffling Jongdae's hair.

"Guys!" Kyungsoo called. "Yifan hyung, Lu Han hyung and Zitao are all on Skype. Plus Joonmyun hyung, Chanyeol, Sehun and Jongin said that they're coming for lunch."

Yixing smiled down at Jongdae before giving him a kiss. "Thank you. My mum's right, I am lucky to have you."

Jongdae flushed before hitting his chest. "Come on, I made dumplings."
