“I have something to propose to you.”

“You sound serious.”

Haejin said as he chuckles.

“It is serious. I’m thinking of handing out my position and went to do volunteer. I had discussed it with my son and he is positive with my decision.”

“Oh, it’s sure a great thing to do Director. So, do you want to do a test to the senior surgeons and doctor?”

“I had chosen one.”

“Can I know who it is?”

“Can’t you guess?”

“Me?”

The director nods.

“It’s you and I really hope you can accept it.”

“I.”

“And I have a condition.”

Haejin looks at the Director seriously, waiting for him to continue.

“I want your sister as my daughter in law.”

“Deh?”

“You know that my son likes her right? And if I give the position to you just like that, people will talk badly about you. So I was thinking if we could become family.”

“But it’s not for me to decide. It’s about her life.”

“I’ll give you time to decide and persuade your sister. Remember this Haejin, you worth the position and I hope to hear a good answer from you.”

Haejin stands and bows to him before he leaves the room.

Shinhye was brewing Yonghwa’s coffee while humming the latest boy group song happily when she was startled by Yonghwa.

“You nearly make my heart jumps.”

She pouts.

“Why are you doing? I’m craving for coffee right now.”

“It will be easier if you want instant coffee Director nim.”

He chuckles.

“Sorry but I can’t change my palate.”

“I know. And I didn’t ask you to change. Just be patience.”

“Okay.”

Yonghwa pulls a chair and watch as Shinhye pour the hot water on the coffee powder.

“Did you learn how to make coffee?”

“Yes. From Hyungsik. Hyungsik is good at it. He will make coffee for me everytime he learns new recipe.”

“Ahh.”

Shinhye is done after a while and puts the cup on a saucer.

“Do you want it here?”

“No, let’s go to my room. I have something to say.”

“Okay. I’ll be there right away.”

After she puts the coffee on his tray, Shinhye follows him behind and walks in after a knock.

She is still a secretary after all.

She placed his coffee on his table and stands on the side.

“You know about the party this weekend?”

She nods.

“Yes. I still have to email some invitation to your clients later.”

“Good. And unfortunately mom wants me to go there with Miss Kim.”

Shinhye nods again.

“Okay Director. Do you want me to send the invitation to Miss Kim?”

“Oh no. Miss Park, what I meant is.”

He stops acting serious and looks at her.

“I don’t want to go with her but I have no choice.”

“Yes director. I’m clear with that.”

He views her expression and she is still as calm as when she walks in.

“Come here.”

He called and makes her sits on his lap.

He took her hand and holds it.

“Are you fine with it? Me going to the party with Miss Kim?”

“I’m sure fine.”

“Really?”

She nods.

“But can’t I go alone? Hyungsik is not in town and even if he is in, I don’t think he want to come along to a formal party.”

Yonghwa draw circles on her palm with his thumb as he stares apologetically at her.

“Mianhe.”

“Why are you sorry? I’m okay. It’s a company party. I shouldn’t make it obvious by sticking next to you. Who knows I might be kissing you there in public.”

Shinhye laughs which makes Yonghwa chuckles a bit.

“I can’t make omma pick on you again.”

He sighs.

“Why is it so hard to be in love?”

“We should think that we are shooting a drama.”

She chuckles again.

“Chagiya, why are you so calm?”

“We have to face any problem calmly. So that we won’t get stressed out.”

Yonghwa smiles and kisses her palm.

“Make me calm then.”

Shinhye smiles and bends to kiss him on his lips.

“Will this be fine?”

Yonghwa nods and pulls her in his embrace.

“Thank you and I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry. I won’t let you.”

She whispers and hugs him tight as she kisses his hair.

“Kim So Eun ssi?”

“You are?”

He held out his hand for a handshake which she took it awkwardly.

“I know you. We met when you are having lunch with Mr. Jung and his secretary.”

“Oh you are Miss Park acquantaince.”

He nods.

“I’m here to make a deal with you.”

“And what is that?”

“Should we talk over coffee?”

So eun glances on her wrists and nods.

“I got some free time at night so why not we meet for dinner?”

"That will be great."

“Where are you going?”

“I’m heading out for a while.”

He answers as he picks up his car key.

“About So eun, did you dicuss when will you pick her up?”

“I’ll wait for her there.”

“Be a gentleman and pick her up from her house.”

“That’s not professional omma.”

Yoomi nods agreeing.

“Why are you doing this omma?”

She asks in favor of her brother.

“Nothing. Can you leave us for a while Yoomi.”

She waited for Yoomi to leave before she turns her attention to Yonghwa who was putting on his shoes.

“Yong.”

“Omma, will you give us your consent if I do this?”

Mrs. Jung keeps her silence before she sighs.

“Yong.”

“Omma, you know it clearly that Miss Park is not like what you and noona think she is right? So why?”

“I know we did wrong for accusing her. We apologize and that’s enough. Miss Park is a no.”

“Why are you controlling my life? Why can’t I choose who I want to be with after you let me choose my path before?”

“Listen to me Yong. So Eun is more suitable for our family.”

“Omma. I told you I don’t love her. Why noona can choose her life but not me?”

Mrs. Jung sighs.

“I’m happy omma, very happy. She makes me feel my life but you want me to ditch that happiness? Does it make sense?”

“Yong, love is not everything.”

“Love is not everything but she is my everything.”

Yonghwa clenches his fist.

“I’m sorry that I raised my voice but I’ll never change my decision. I’ll stay out for few days to sort my thought. I’m sorry.”

He bows to his mother and left her.

“Yong.”

Yoomi called which he ignored and climbs the staircase and packs his things.

He went down shortly after and left with his car.

“Omma, Yong is leaving. What happen?”

“What should I do Yoomi?”

“Omma.”

“He chooses her.”

“You can’t accept them?”

She shakes her head and stares at Yoomi.

“She doesn’t suit us.”

She answers shortly and left for her room.
