Epilogue

Desperate

Youngjae sat down on his soft big bed. It wasn't exactly that big but it always felt like it was. His hands caress the frame of the photo of a specific someone. Tears threatening to fall again... but no... he wasn't going to cry. After years of anguish and sorrow, he'd learn to tame his eyes. Daehyun wouldn't like it if he'd cry.

"Six years... it's been exactly six years since you left, Hyunnie... I-I miss you so much..." Youngjae wouldn't admit it loudly but he had thought about rejoining Daehyun much earlier than anticipated. He was tempted to do it a lot... pills.. razors... ropes.. even jumping from an incomprehensible height... but every time he'd try, it was either his Appa would stop him, telling him Daehyun would not seek any happiness if he did that or it was that tiny voice in his head, reminding him, he had a life... a family to take care of.. and that Daehyun died for him to live. He didn't like the sound of Daehyun sacrificing his life in vain. So he eventually stopped trying.

Looking around the room, his heart swelled with nostalgia. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea to have all the pictures he took with his camera developed, framed, and posted everywhere in the house because most of them were of Daehyun. And every time he'd see the angelic face of the said boy, a part of his chest would always twist. He even massages it sometimes.

"Life on Earth is good.." he starts off as he gets up and places the frame back where it belonged.
"The kids are growing up nicely... Channie hyung and Gukkie hyung live right next to us too... Appa's promoted to be the head of all scientific and weaponry branches, Suga hyung as the head of well... everything... he's most likely what we call President but as you can expect, he's some sort of science maniac just like appa and me... and Junmyeon-hyung... I swear I don't know how it happened but... he got back with Luhan hyung on our fifth year here... he must have done something really touching......
The tokkies didn't do much harm to the planet so we didn't really need to clean up... everything's pretty much in top shape..." He smiled as he talked to himself. He liked to pretend Daehyun was listening... like he was just telling his husband how everything was going but although saying all those with a soft smile... it all just felt empty..

His hand once again found a special clip... he honestly lost count how much he's played it... a million times would be an understatement.. after all, wedding clips are normally played often, right? The clip was in a box filled with all the other clips. Of course their wedding clip stood out from the rest in some way, but that didn't mean the others were any less special.

Everytime he thought about the word 'clips'  though, he'd rethink about the time a group of famous directors came to interview him on his life with Daehyun. Starting from when he had rescued the lad, until their very last adventure. They had a movie made from it and Youngjae couldn't help but laugh at everything because it was all so accurate. He'd watch the movie for fun but he'd always end up using up all the tissues because the last part was just too painful. Even worse, they had used actors who'd have uncanny resemblance to them for real. He'd choke upon seeing how the actor portraying Daehyun looked so much like him. But he'd remind himself that it was a different person and that Daehyun was gone.
Moving on, he held the the box of clips tightly in his hands and went to the TV room.
Sighing to himself, he mumbled..
"Looks like I'm going to have another clip marathon again..."

Two small little boys cowered against each other as three older kids surrounded them.
"Aweeeee does poor Taehyungie and Jaehyunnie only have one daddy?? well that's just too bad then!! Because all the other kids have two NORMAL parents."

Jaehyun curled his hands to a fist as he listened to the 'bigger kids' teasings.

" That's not funny Ilhoon! My daddy was a brave man! And one day he'll come from the stars and beat you up!!" Being the 'older twin', Taehyung felt responsible for keeping his little twin brother protected and happy. He didn't understand the bullies though... haven't they heard of his daddy's heroic story of saving the whole human race in exchange for his life? They should be thankful!

"Yeah right... like he'll magically show up to beat us up. He's dead and you can't do anything about it!" Sungjae  added.

"W-Well... Jae daddy will beat you up then! He's just as strong as Dae daddy!" Jaehyun yelled back, trying to act tough but it wasn't enough, seeing as the bullies may have spot the tear he was holding in.

"Awww are you gunna cry? Pathetic and weak just like your 'Jae daddy'. You're telling me he's strong? He can't even leave the house without a box of tissues! Grow up Jaehy-"

"ENOUGH!!!!" A yell from behind suddenly got everyone's attention away.

"Ah damn... well if it isn't the three party poopers."

"Watch your mouth Ilhoon! We're twice your age!" Jungkook had to be held down by Jongup and Jungkook before he could pounce on the brat.

"Exactly.. You're twice our age. So why don't you pick someone your own size and leave us alone? We're not done having a 'friendly' discussion with the loser twins over here.."

That was enough to set Junhong and Jongup off and they both gladly let go of Jungkook's shirt.

"You asked for this.. Kids, you should have ran when you had the chance.." Junhong warned with a smug smile.

"Jungkook is loose!!!" Minhyuk yelled and grabbed his smaller brother, Sungjae's hand before turning to run away.

Screams and shouts were heard from Ilhoon's group as they tried to scurry off and run away from the teenager.
The twins could only gape in awe at how cool their hyungs were. Protecting them as if they were their real brothers and comforting them just like best friends would.

After Ilhoon's group completely ran off, the trio quickly ran to the twins' side.
"Are you okay? Did they hurt you guys?" Jungkook worriedly asked as he knelt down to their level to scan the twins for any sort of injuries.

"No... but Jungkook hyung! You were so cool!! You scared them off so easy!! But... you sorta scared me too... and I may have peed a little.." Jaehyun explained and Jungkook stared wide-eyed at him before scanning his pants for any signs of urine but sighing in relief as soon as he felt a soft cotton like cover.

"Jae-hyung still puts you in diapers, I see... it comes in handy I guess..." Junhong and Jongup laughed together with their step brother as soon as this left his mouth.

"Yup! Daddy makes me wear them just in case I get those tendencies...It's only me though! Taehyungie doesn't need one!" He looked at his brother with pure adoration. Maybe he won't voice it, but Taehyung was indeed one of the people he dearly looked up to... along with the trio and his daddies.

Jungkook lovingly ruffled their hair.
"Me and the guys are going to the park... do you wanna come little buddy?"

"No thanks, hyung... I don't feel like going there today.."

"Taehyung?"

Taehyung softly shook his head.

"I promise daddy I'd stick with Jaehyun... So.. I'll pass, hyung."

Jungkook gave Taehyung a warm smile.
"That's right... you have to take care of your younger brother for Jae-hyung, alright? We all have to be good hyungs to our brothers." He grinned sheepishly but stopped when feeling Junhong jab his rib cage.

"Yeah right... like taking all my cherry tomatoes for yourself is being a 'good hyung'" Junhong mumbled, purposely trying to set the other off.

"Darn it Jun! You ruined the moment!"

He playfully stranggled his younger brother and the twins watched as their Jongup hyung quietly mouthed 'kids, don't follow them. It's a bad influence' before laughing heartily because Junhong fell on his .

"Well we best get going now! See you guys at dinner!"

It was their daily routine to have Youngjae, his Appa, the twins and the rest of Jungkook's family eat outside their house and under the watch of a billion stars. The twins would huddle against their Jae-daddy after eating and look up to the bright night sky, lighted by billions of those balls of plasma. They stare at it for a long while and every time they did, they'd feel as though someone was watching them back too. And they liked to say it was their other father, watching over them with the stars. They have heard from their Jae-daddy that his dust were scattered all over the dark abyss but they had trouble believing him because they had apparently saw their Suga hyung working on something from a weird pod.. the pod contained dust too... but there was more to it than that... they have seen a small stone like piece that grew of bright yellow getting retracted from the same pod as well. They never knew what it was but they felt as though it wasn't a thing to be ignored. They had a lot of speculations about that weird pod too. Especially since they've also heard of a pod in their daddy's story of their other daddy. But even though there were doubts about whether the dust was really scattered in the sky, they both knew they had to believe in their Jae-daddy... or pretend to believe him at the very least. So up til now, they still look up to the beautiful night sky and think that somewhere out there, someone is watching over them even if that was just wishful thinking.

"Jaehyunnie... why don't we sit for awhile...I'm kind of tired.." Taehyung dismissed and started pulling his twin onto  the bench right in the far corner of the vast trail.

He followed behind his older twin but couldn't help but shiver at the thought that they had to sit with that man wearing a black jacket over the bench too.

"Hello, sir... can we perhaps sit here too?" Despite being young, Taehyung was always good with words and manners. He was never one to disrespect...

"Oh sure... I don't mind..." Jaehyun liked the man's voice. It was deep but not deep like his uncle Yongguk's voice! Just the right kind of deep.

The twins awkwardly shifted against each other, both having a silent argument on who should sit beside the stranger.

Eventually, Taehyung gave in. His younger brother just seemed impossible to win over.

"What are you two doing on this very fine day?..." The man didn't seem to want to have a quiet time. Not wanting to be rude, Taehyung thought of a 'mature' response. One that would deem worthy of adult ears. The presence of the man just seemed to intrigue him lots.

"Well... we we're just out playing... it's boring inside the house and we wouldn't want to miss out on a very fine day now, would we?" Satisfied with his response, Taehyung secretly giggled to himself. The man found this amusing, especially since those words came from a child no older than seven.

" You sound smart..." The man giggled too and Taehyung swore it was the prettiest giggle he's ever heard... well... next to his Jae daddy's giggle of course... none could surprass that man's beauty, Taehyung swore.

"What about you?... what are you doing out this very fine day, good sir?" Now he was really kicking it with his responses! He should get an oscar or something..

"Looking for my family..."

The twins both furrowed their brows. Was it normal to 'look for your family' just like that?

"Why? Did you lose them?" Jaehyun didn't want to get left out on the conversation! Not when it finally got interesting!

"No..." The man looked down and shook his head sadly.

"They lost me..."
The twins were quick to gape at him. That was horrible! How can a family just lose a member like that?! It certainly wasn't a good feeling, right?
So with the right mind, they both stood to their feet.

"Come on, Mister! We'll help you find your family!" Jaehyun tugged at the man's jacket.

"Really? Thanks!! But... how are you going to do that exactly?" The man asked unsure if he could really rely on a pair of little boys.

"Ummmm!!!! We'll get Jae-daddy to help!" Jaehyun always liked it when he could brain storm quickly. It made his daddy proud too.

"Jae-daddy?...huh....Jae.... that's a nice name..."
The man looked struct upon hearing the name. Taehyung was about to question it but the man beat him to it.

"What's his first name?"

Taehyung didn't know how his daddy's name was any help but it must have had something to do with being famous and talked about all over the planet... after all... he was the husband of the man who saved the human race, right?

"Youngjae! Youngjae daddy!!"
Jaehyun happily answered for his brother.

Taehyung observed the man's face and it surprisingly seemed to be in more awe. Now what could that mean?

"Is that so?... hmmnnn... then what are your names?..." Taehyung was skeptical about telling a stranger their names.. what if he was a bad guy?! That couldn't possibly mean any good.

"I'm Jaehyun and he is Taehyung!" Again, the younger twin answered happily for him. This of course led to Taehyun softly jabbing Jaehyun's arm.

'You can't just go telling him our names like that! What if he's a bad guy?!' He fiercely whispered. Although the sound of their names did seem to amuse the stranger further more. They could practically see his eyes sparkle.

"Alright... maybe your Jae-daddy can help me find my family after all." The man cheered and held the twin's hands casually, urging them to lead him the way. It almost felt natural.

As they walked all the way back home, they came across the golden statue of the human race's brave hero and the twins' jaws dropped along with the man's jaw. But for two very different reasons.

"Who's that?" The man asked with a wide grin.

"That's our Dae-daddy!! He has his own statue made because everyone loves him for the things he's done! He's so cool, isn't he?" Jaehyun all but jumped on his spot when the sudden realization slapped him in the face.

"Oh!! Mister! You look exactly like him! No wonder you seemed so familiar!!" Jaehyun may have not realize it sooner, but it was merely because he often forgot how his Dae-daddy looked like. Sure he's seen the man in countless videos and pictures, statues even! But he couldn't help but forget someone he's never seen personally before.

Taehyung may have sensed the resemblance the first time though... maybe that's why he wanted to sit on the bench?

"Woahhh... really? Your Dae-daddy must have been a really good man then..." The stranger's voice skipped an octave. Taehyung found it weird but, Jaehyun? he was rather excited that the man wanted to know more about his Dae-daddy, seeming as he never really got to talk about him considering everyone knew the guy.

"Yes! Of course he was!!" The bubbly little boy didn't let his brother's 'shushes' bring his spirit down..

"Oh... well... where is he now?" The stranger seemed unbelievably clueless! How can he possibly not heard of their Dae-daddy?

"Ughhhh... he's gone... Jae-Daddy said he was with the stars..." Jaehyun looked at the sky, but it clicked that there weren't any stars at all, since it was still late afternoon. He quickly hung his head low in embarrassment but Taehyung was quick to spot his little mistake and chuckled quietly to himself.

"Oh... I see..." the man almost looked sad as he said that. No actually, he did look sad, not almost.

The three spent the rest of their travel in silence. It wasn't awkward at all though... it was more of comforting than awkward. With the twins' hands casually intertwined with the man's hands as they led him to their house, it all just felt....
right.
"We're here!!!" The boys loudly announced and they could practically hear the man's loud gasp as soon as he layed eyes on their huge house. Even more so, two huge houses!.

"Ughhhh which one is your house?" The man questioned and Jaehyun gladly pointed to the one on their left.

"Oh... then whose house is that?..."

"Uncle Himchan, Uncle Yongguk, Jungkook hyung, Jongup hyung and Junhong hyung's house! They live right next to us!" Jaehyun once again happily explained and the man began to question if the boy ever runs out of energy.
Upon sudden realization of what the boy said though, the man's eyes just continued to glow with fascination.

"... Your neighbors are... are..." He looked like he wanted to say something more but it seemed like he caught his tongue before proceeding in whatever it is he wanted to say.

"Hmmn? Our neighbors are what?" Taehyung persuaded. He really wanted to know what was going on that man's head.

"They ar-... I mean they have nice names..."
The twins eyed him with a peculiar expression on. Was that really necessary to say?

"Mister... do you think everybody has nice names?" Jaehyun didn't mean to sound rude but he couldn't help but ask. It did seem like it though... the man was just very easily fascinated with everything around. Was he new here?

"Yeah well... I just thought...Names are gifts... shouldn't it be appreciated more?" The stranger mumbled and rolled his tongue against his cheek as if he struggling in finding a proper response. The twins dismissed it as nothing and led the man inside their house.

"Jae- Daddy!! We're home!! And we've brought a visitor!!" Jaehyun's loud voice echoed throughout the whole house but the air was as good as quiet. No body answered back.

"Hmmnn... he's not here..." Taehyung mumbled loud enough for the three of them to hear.

"Ah! Maybe he's in the TV room playing Dae-daddy's videos again!" Jaehyun proclaimed and pushed the man further in.

"He watches.. Your Dae-daddy's videos?" The man asked as he followed the twins' lead into the house. His eyes never seemed to leave walls where over huge dozens of photos in frames hanged. His lips slowly tugged upward with each photo they passed by.

"He does..He does it quite often actually... especially when he feels lonely or when he just feels like it... Granpa Seok bought him a life time supply of tissues too... because he always cries when he watches those videos.."
Taehyung's sad monotone voice kicked in.

"He... cries a lot?" The stranger surprisingly is affected with the sadness as well. Well it wasn't really pleasing hearing about a man still grieving about his husband's death.

"Mnnhmm! That's why... sometimes... I disapprove of letting him watch them... I don't like seeing Jae-daddy sad... Me and Jaehyun once hid the clips' box too... just to have him avoid watching them... but it was a really bad idea, seeming we made it worse and Jae-daddy had to cry so much over the lost box... so we just surrendered and gave it back to him... he was mad we took it at first, but after we told him why, he hugged and kissed us, told us he loved us and that he would try not to cry on the videos anymore.."

Taehyung looked at the man in the eyes, finding a hint of pain hiding beneath those brown orbs. Was he really affected too? Or was he just pretending to be?

Their house was really huge so without a doubt it would take them awhile before they'd reach the TV room.

"But... he still does cry over them... maybe not always... but he still does.."

The man nodded in understanding. It was sad knowing kids had to take it to their own hands to keep their parent away from sadness. Hearing from Taehyung, it did seem like their Jae-daddy's condition was getting a tad bit better so it was at least a load lifter.

He then averted his eyes to stare at a specific photo. His hands suddenly had a mind of its own and the next thing he knew, he was already caressing it without the twins' consent.

"Hey! Don't touch that! Jae-daddy will kill us if that gets scratched!" Startled, he jolted his hand away and hid it behind his back, guilt creeping all over his skin.

"Sorry... I didn't know what came to me... I mean.. that's just a really nice proposal photo.." The man excused nervously under the twin's slightly mad gazes.

Regardless the tension, Taehyung let it pass and pulled the man more into the hall, continuing their journey.

"It was from a video... Jae-daddy just paused that part and had it made into a photo... just like most of the pictures here..."
He puffed out his cheeks, pretending to be mad at the worried stranger.

"Oh...I get it... no wonder there are so many pictures.." The man's cheeks painted red tint as his eyes caught the photo of the twin's 'daddies' kissing on their wedding day.

It took them a few more minutes before finally making it in front of the TV room's door.

"I can hear the volume from out here..." The stranger said quietly, but enough for it to resound on the eerie hallway.

"Yeah well... that's because he turns it up every time he plays it. And every time he does, he'll get too immersed on the film that he won't even notice someone entering." Taehyung explained as he opened the door for them and gestured for his little brother and the man to go on first.

The sudden freezing chill from the air conditioner sent goosebumps all over the man's body. His eyes became glossy as he stared at the huge screen and watched as one of the said clips were played as if it was from what they called a theater.

"This is your idea of a TV room?" He softly asked one of the twins, specifically Jaehyun who just gave him a shrug from his shoulders. The man was clearly expecting something not a gigantic screen that covered half the wall and velvet chairs chained to one another. He only pictured a small room with a TV screen up front and just a normal sized couch to sit on, but no, it wasn't even near that. The whole room screamed elegance and fortune all over.

It wasn't completely dark since they could still make out each other's faces, especially with the screen illuminating the whole room, but it was dark enough to topple over yourself if you didn't watch your step.

"There he is..." Jaehyun quietly muttered and pointed to the back of a man's head, peeking from one of the chairs.

"Well don't just stand there... go on Mister! Ask him if he knows where your family is! "  The twins pushed the stranger forward but he was quick to stay still.

"What about you guys?" The man asked confused, why they suddenly wanted him to go alone.

"We'll catch up later... it's just... we feel uncomfortable approaching him when.. you know... when he's like that.." they gestured to the concentrated man up front who wasn't even aware of the tears that were leaking out from his eyes. They could seriously see his illuminated tears from where they were. No joke.

"I understand.."  The man nodded softly before he slowly made his way to where the twins' father was. He swallowed the invisible lump on his throat that he didn't even knew he had when his eyes landed on the man's beautiful but tearful face.

"It's been so long, Youngjae..." he whispered to himself, eyes never leaving his figure, not even when the wedding song from the clip rang in his ears.

Swiftly, he got to the man's side unnoticed as he gingerly sat down the chair beside Youngjae.

He took in the quiet sobs of the latter and he couldn't help but feel like crying himself too.

It had been so long.

Going unnoticed again, he calmly got a tissue from the box between them and tenderly glided it to the man's cheek, careful not to accidentally nudge his eye before he lovingly wiped his tears off.

"What do you want, Himchan hyung?... didn't I tell you not to come in here whenever I'm watching his clips?"

The man, Youngjae muttered in a monotone voice, not exactly caring if it cracked or not. He just didn't really have the heart to take his eyes off the screen.

The stranger couldn't hold it in anymore. His urge to take the latter in his warm embrace just couldn't be hold back.
And so with the tiny bit of his self restraint gone, he gave up and tenderly wrapped his arms around the latter's still small frame. He hadn't even realized he himself was crying until he caught a blur in his vision.

"What the-" Youngjae's sentence cut mid-way. His breath hitched upon not seeing his overly narcissistic diva hyung, but his long gone and missed fiance instead.

"Jae-daddy! This man was looking for his family! Do you think you can help him?" The twins arrived just in time when the stranger broke the hug off.

Youngjae's eyes couldn't believe themselves. It just felt like all the oxygen from his lungs got drained up in some sort of black hole, along with all the sense his brain once had.

"Daddy? Why are you hyperventilating?" Taehyung asked with a voice laced with concern as to seeing his father pale and panting like no tomorrow.

It looked like he's seen a ghost.

"Youngjae... it's me..."
The stranger softly said, afraid his voice would break the latter any second if it would accidentally be raised an octave higher.

"Dae... hyun?.." he responded, unsure if he could still trust his own eyes and judgement.

The twins became even more confused than him as they watched the two interact. Was it really true? Had they just brought their other father home?

Youngjae's trembling hands reach out to touch the man's face but he paused his own ministrations upon a sudden thought.

"No.. it can't be... You died a long time ago... I must be seeing things..." he pulled his hand back in place, but before he could do so, 'Daehyun's' hands caught his.

"No, it's really me... you're not seeing things.. you're seeing me, Daehyun... your fiance.."

To his fears, Youngjae turned away.

"Daehyun is gone... you're probably some kind of robot sent by dad to end my misery out of pity..."

Daehyun was determined to make him believe.

He held his hand warmly and Youngjae felt as though it was really the same hands that held his, six years ago... warm and full of life..

"If I was a robot... would I have this?"

He led his palm over to his chest and Youngjae's cheeks burned of red as he felt the rhythm of life against his finger tips, shaking them, and trying to prove them wrong as it sent them those fast vibrations that Youngjae could only gasp at... He was so full of life and there was no possible way he was a robot... but still... it was impossible... Daehyun was gone... and he knew that up til this day, he had a hard time accepting that but he just couldn't show up like this! It was just... just... too impossible...

"Youngjae... you have to believe me.... please..." Daehyun crept nearer to the man in denial until they were already sharing the same breath.

"You have to believe me.." he closed his eyes and brought their lips together, hoping the feeling of the grandest fireworks and the electric shock was enough to make the latter realize he wasn't in a dream or trance of any sort.

Once they parted, Youngjae was all but calm.

"I-It's you!! I-It's really really you! I felt it! I felt it again!!!" He shouted and kind of scared the twins a bit.

"You felt what?" Daehyun asked with a grin, urging him to carry on.

"The spark!!! The same spark that made me fall in love six years ago!! Daehyun it's you!!"
At this point? Who needs tissues? he needed a damn towel!

"Jaehyun, Taehyung! Meet your Dae-daddy!!" He excitedly hugged the twins and gestured them to whom the kids once called ' stranger' .

"Jae-baby... they already met me... they brought me here when I said I was looking for my family..."
This only made Youngjae's unstoppable grin wider

"You did?!? I'm so so proud of you guys!!!" he hugged them tighter and gave them each a kiss on their foreheads. The twin's could only giggle in happiness as they watched their Jae-daddy smile like he's never smiled before. They've never seen him this happy in forever... it was all so overwhelming.

"Youngjae, Son! I saw a pair of shoes I haven't seen before on the rack, are you having a guest over?"

That voice... that oh so familiar voice that tugged Daehyun on forward to run to the vessel it belonged to.

"Dad!!!!!!"  He ran so fast to the room's door just in time to see it open.

"Youngjae?"

"Dad!" He jumped on the said man and gave him the tightest hug he could manage at the moment.

"Daehyun?!!!! What the- how did you-"

"I missed you so much!!"
He loudly exclaimed.

Hoseok stood there shock as he'll ever be. Was life playing a sick game with him? No wait, life IS a game itself.. but how??
Regardless the questions, he gladly took his dear child to his chest and returned the hug, pulling him closer with strong arms.

"Dad... did you have anything to do with this?" Youngjae asked, the twins at both hands.

"Of course not! If I did, I wouldn't be shocked out of my wits!..." He denied as he snuggled his cheek more into his son's cheek. It all felt like he was given a new life with the boy... like a chance... again, he hadn't even realized his own eyes were pooling it on Daehyun's shoulder. Just how much he's missed his boy?
It all felt so surreal.. he somehow forgot how to speak... and his reflexes seemed to give up on him as well. How on Earth was this happening?!

"Daehyun... you know you have some explaining to do.." Youngjae reminded as soon as the father and son broke it off.

"Why don't we do it at the dinner table outside, son? Dinner's ready too... I just came to call Youngjae and the kids as well, and I'm sure glad I did!"  He rubbed his eyes of those tears before he ended his sentence with a ruffle on Daehyun's fluffy hair.

"And I'm sure Himchan and the rest of his family would be overjoyed to see you as well.."

Daehyun's eyes lit up even more! Oh how much light those orbs have earned today!

"Himchan hyung , Yongguk hyung, Junhong, Jongup and Jungkook!!!" He jumped in place.

'So that's what he had in mind awhile ago..' Taehyung thought and smiled secretly to himself. He doesn't know why, but he already felt like he was going to really love his Dae-Daddy.

"Oh!" Daehyun took Taehyung and carried him up the same way Youngjae carried Jaehyun.
He pulled his fiance closer and compressed their bodies together.

"My family.." now it was Daehyun's turn to break down.. after years of hardships and struggles, he had finally got what his heart desired the most.

Youngjae gave him a peck on the cheek.

"I love you too..."

Daehyun looked at the man questioningly.

"Huh?"

"I never got to say it back when you left.."

Daehyun only smiled sheepishly  before he pecked the younger man in return.

The family made their way outside and everybody laughed at Daehyun's awe-stricken face when he saw how the 'outdoor dining table' turned out.

It was festive! The colors varied so much and they all just complimented one another. It looked so majestic!

"Is this always like this?" He asked, clearly oblivious and curious.

"Yup. Every night..."

His lover answered casually. Why was everything here so grand?!?

"Oh! Here come the guys! Quick, Daehyun hide behind me and Dad!"
He swiftly complied with the younger's orders, totally getting how Youngjae wanted to surprise Himchan and the rest.

" Himchannie-hyung!" Youngjae screamed jollily as if Himchan wasn't three meters away from him...  the twins ran along with their hyungs, careful not to spill the secret.

"You're unusually happy today, Youngjae... what happened? Got a girlfriend or something?"
Himchan teasingly added, making particularly everyone uncomfortable, especially a special someone.

"Hyung, you know I'll never be able to replace him..." Youngjae said as a matter of factly. He knew Himchan was only trying to get what was best for him... so he could move on and bury his sorrow, but sometimes it was just unnecessary... well not that he still needed to move on now anyway.

"Of course I knew that.. I was just messing with ya~ no one could ever replace that little cutie patootie... even though I'm still mad at him for not saying goodbye at least properly..."

Behind all this, Daehyun grimaced in his spot. He was right... he didn't really leave with the proper words... but could he really help it though?

It's not like he had all the time in the world to say goodbye to each living person out there before he seemingly permanently left. They were attacked and rushed.. but if he could, he would have really said  a proper goodbye to each and everyone of  the people he deeply loved the most..

"So watcha got that made you so happy just now?"

Youngjae grinned widely, surprising Himchan and Yongguk a lot.

"What I've got is a million times better than a girlfriend, a billion times better than the finest of diamonds out there... even better than the planet itself!"

Himchan chuckled at the man's choice of words. It seemed like he was exaggerating lots.

"Oh boy... this better be good.."
"Even better than good!" Youngjae loudly proclaimed one last time before stepping out of the way, unveiling an unbelievably shy Daehyun.

All eyes were on him and silence just took over as the three teenagers and their parents gape in awe and started to question reality.

Himchan was first to speak. Tears evident to fall any second ticking by.

"Daehyun you son of a !!!!" His ear breaking shriek cut through every body's hearing. He was going to say further more, but a hand was quick to stop him from doing so.

"My wife was not a dog, Mr. Himchan." Hoseok cut through with a scary sarcastic smile and a cold monotone voice.

" O-Of course not Sir!" Himchan was quick to stutter and take back his words when the man deeply laughed.

"I'm just messing with you!"

Himchan swallowed..Toche'...

So that's how it felt like to be trolled back. Boy....was it awful.

"Daehyun hyung!!" The three kids came charging at the said man, tears evident in their eyes.

Daehyun barely even got the hold of his balance. If it wasn't for Youngjae who caught him by the shoulder, he would have absolutely met with the surface. Having three over sized teenagers tackle you isn't the most pleasurable experience.

"Oh dear me... You three definitely grew up well. Himchan-hyung, what have you been feeding them?" He struggled to collect his footing before he responded to the boys' 'improvised bear hug'.

"Hey, what can I do? They basically own the entire milk and cherry tomato station in town. Give the credit to your father for giving them the privilege. These little rascals grew too much! " Himchan explained as he ruffled each of their hair in a fatherly manner.

"Well... guess Jungkook got what he wished for! I mean look at you! You're way pass the Junhong six years ago! Just like you've always wanted!" He cooed at Jungkook's grumpy pout.

"Hyung.. Junhong's still like, a feet taller than me.. how is that what I wanted?" The teenager playfully replied.

"Well you did say you wanted to be as tall as him.. and that was six years ago! You've beaten the seven year old Junhong! Congratulations!" Jungkook snubbed at him at this but lovingly embraced him even tighter than before anyway. He just really missed his hyung..

"Daehyun, you've still got some explaining to do~" Yongguk placed an arm around him and shook him softly. He was just so utterly confused. None of this was making sense.

"Oh yeah.. right.."  he softly mumbled and sat on the long chair before he gestured all the others to sit too.

"It's actually... pretty simple.."  He declared and watched as everyone's eyes grew wide, and filled themselves up with curiosity.

"Remember when they said my blood was made out of 90% tokki blood?" Daehyun asked, not exactly referring the question to anyone in particular, but the whole group nodded anyway. Even the twins who had not the slightest idea what they were all huddling over for.

"Well... because all of us were so focused on that 90%... we all forgot about the remaining 10%... but Suga-hyung remembered.." Hearing this, Hoseok mentally prepared himself. He was probably going to write a full book of thanks to the guy soon enough.

"It was expected that when they opened my pod, they'd only find dust there... and there really were only dust... Youngjae told Suga-hyung to scatter it in space so you'd all have someone to look up to, correct?"

Everyone nodded, especially Youngjae who found the idea very enticing up til now.

"Well he didn't do it... he took the pod into his study and examined it... that's when he found the remaining 10%... it was a hardened yellow crystal pandora tree's sap  which had regenerating abilities... that explains why my blood can heal and boost... it was the tactic behind that all along.
Apparently it's liquid, but when exposed to open air, becomes a small gem like stone that glows of bright yellow...
Anyways... all he had to do was to place the stone and my dust which contained my DNA inside of his processing machines and poof! I'm alive, good as new... well it did take a few years to finally become in one piece and to regain my memories back but hey... I'm back!"

Everyone was awestruck at the end of his explanation... it all made perfect sense! Even Jungkook, Junhong and Jongup got it and they weren't even scientifically inclined! It was that simple!

"So... wouldn't that mean you're immortal?" Youngjae asked with a happy grin on

"Yup! Well.. unless nobody revives me.. that would kill me for sure!"

Everybody gave him gentle smiles and they swiftly slipped in the best, happiest dinner they've had in years.
Nobody could have ever guessed..

They stayed up late and talked a lot to catch up with each other and it really seemed like time did nothing as to change wherever they have left before...
When the night was getting to its turf and nearing twilight, everybody except Daehyun, Youngjae and their precious kids went home.

The twins were already sound asleep in each of their arms and they let it sink to themselves how good it felt like to be under the midnight sky, as the now 'complete' family they were.

"Dae.." Youngjae whispered, careful not to wake the twins.

"Hmmn?"

"What was it like before you revived?... was there really something in the other side?"

Daehyun felt a gentle up curve on his lips.

"Yes... I saw mum.. she hugged me and told me she loved me so much and that she had been watching me all those years... I didn't believe it at first but then she said that I chose the right person to be with... She said you were right for me, Youngjae... and I couldn't be anymore happy..."

He tenderly planted his plump lips over his lover's cheeks and watched as they glowed bright red.

" She said she was so so proud of me for having tolerated through the pain, the suffering, for all those years and having end it with a brave decision... Oh you should have seen the smile on her face when she said that...
She was also crying... but I think it's what you call tears of joy... okay, not entirely of joy because honestly, who would find it amusing for someone to die so young and-" Daehyun paused for a second to find out if Youngjae was still listening.
"Forgive me... I ramble too much.." hearing this, Youngjae's eyes widened immediately.
"What? No! Keep going! You can talk all night if you have to and I'll listen to every single word...just please proceed, Daehyun.."

"Ughhh... that's actually all there is to say... the rest of it was a blur.."

"You're saying the rest of the six years were spent in a blur?" He raised a brow playfully.

"Yes- no, wait... It wasn't a blur... I'm pretty sure I spent those years in another place with actual events... I just can't remember...

Youngjae nodded in understanding..

"Well then... I expect you to tell me all about it when you remember.." Youngjae beamed him a smile... a smile that never failed to make Daehyun's heart beat triple speed no matter how many years pass by. He was still the same Youngjae he fell in love with six years ago.

He smiled back.

" I promise..."
