♥~Chapter Fifty-Three~♥

His Personal Maid

Yugyeom stared at Mark. The older male was looking afar, blank and surprised. He just woke up form blacking out which he himself don’t know the reason behind it. A lady mentioned something that Mark must’ve been so exhausted from practicing that his body needed a rest. Mark doesn’t think his tiredness was coming from practicing.

He tried to hide it. To hide the fact that every night he would wonder where Yoojin is and how she was doing. Then in his dreams his even chasing her leaving trail. When he would wake up, he would first wish that Yoojin was inside his home and that everything was a dream, but of course, the moment he would walk down the stairs, Yoojin wasn’t there and reality had punch him across the face once again.

“Are you okay?” JB mumbled. He handed Mark a bottle of water which he took, immediately chugging down the drink. They were backstage, watching the other male groups who was currently performing. They were good too, more on the choreography side rather than skills. JB wasn’t going to lie, but their synchronising was on point.

Yugyeom stopped staring and decided to actually do something. He went beside Mark, trying his best to be casual and smooth, to not show that he was sincerely worried, but everyone knows Mark hated it when people worry about him.

“Good aren’t they?” Youngjae said. He and Bambam managed to stand squeeze in and stand in front. Yugyeom wondered if they were there before he was or not, because he did not notice his friends pushing in front.

“Yeah, what’s their name again?” Bambam asked, eyes not leaving the group.

“Bangtan Seonyeondan.” Yugyeom answered. He pointed at one that and said that his cousin was best friends with him.

Jr and Jackson soon joined in too making the group as a whole. They were all quiet, not knowing how to say and wanting to break the ice but don’t really know how to. They were just glad that Mark was mopping over what had happened. Besides, he couldn’t really control his body.

Even though they tried their very best not to appear all up in Mark’s face, he could tell that they were checking up on him. Each member would throw him a look of worry then look away if Mark catches them. They’ve been offering him food, drinks, a massage from Jackson even if Mark said no.

Thinking about his friend’s care made him smile like a fool. Sometimes his friends were just so plain adorable in his eyes.

“Sorry about stuffing up.” Mark said. His sentence received a lot of defending and comments. They said it wasn’t his fault, that he shouldn’t say sorry, that he should forget it but Mark shook his head. “No, it is my fault.”

“okay, if you say so” Jackson’s statement made the other boys glare at him. Mark laughed at that. Jackson let out a nervous giggle and tried to retake back what he said but Mark told him it was nothing.

“What happened anyway?” Jackson wrapped his arms around Mark, to make sure that he didn’t get mad at what he previously said. Bambam couldn’t help but to snigger at Jackson’s attempts. Honestly, instead of casually slinging his arms around Mark, Jackson was holding his arms down just in case Mark would chuck a punch at him. Bambam was the only one that noticed.

Mark took a deep breath, looking at the ground for a second then his eyes was on the audience who was then clapping since the group performing finished. They stood aside for them to enter backstage and Yugyeom high-fived the boy that was most likely his cousin’s friend.

“Ah…” Mark scratched the back of his neck once everyone was quiet and walking off to leave Got7 alone. Mark didn’t know why he felt uncomfortable mentioning her name but he had to swallow a big lump of saliva that was forming on his mouth. “I saw Yoojin.”

“For reals? She’s here?” Youngjae had a hand over his open mouth. He took a quick peek at the audience to try and look for her but to no avail. Yugyeom tried as well, even going on his tippy-toes in case she was sitting on the higher places.

“She left. I don’t know how but that made me faint.” Mark shrugged his shoulder and Yugyeom sighed in defeat.

JB couldn’t help but to stare at Bambam who suddenly grew very quiet and pale. When they met eyes, Bambam had a forced smile on his face and JB could see right through him.

Mark let out a nervous chuckle, cracking his knuckles and looked at his friends. “I think I bump my head to hard or something… because I want to see her again. I still like her. I want to talk to her, I just want her back”

Jr had a proud smile on his face. During the days that Yoojin was gone, Mark acted like it meant nothing to him, that their times together beforehand wasn’t real, like a dream. When they would mention her, Mark would pretend that he didn’t know her.

Mark’s been confused, especially since Sara was in the picture. For a short time, he forced himself to move on quickly and used Sara as a distraction but ended up liking her. But it wasn’t like last time where he was obsessed with her, this time he was seeing the good in her again, liking her as a younger sister, despite Sara’s massive crush on him.

JB ruffled Bambam’s hair and pushed him slightly, “I think I know someone who can tell us where she is”

All eyes fell on Bambam. He rubbed the back of his nape. It was bound to happen sooner anyway, Mark and Yoojin were bound to find each other. The fact that they’re going to meet again through him annoyed Bambam, but it’s for the best –for everyone’s happiness. He just wished that Yoojin won’t kill him as much.

☺☺☺☺☺☺

Yoojin laughed after Bambam started to curse after hitting furniture over the line. She just arrived from work and was starting on dinner. Ms Baek was in her bedroom taking a rest as well. She placed her phone on speaker and reached up to grab the salt and pepper for seasoning.

“I injured myself and you’re laughing?” Bambam scoffed loudly.

Yoojin shook her head in disbelief, “what? should I cry then?”

“You .”

“Shut up, you love me.” She spatted.

“True.” Bambam’s voice suddenly went low. Yoojin realised what she just said and she badly wanted to kick herself for being stupid. It was suddenly quiet and Yoojin could hear the TV in the background as bags of chips and other packets were being opened.

“You eating ramyun?” She asked after Bambam the gas and started the stove. Bambam hummed as a reply.

The doorbell suddenly went and Yoojin frowned in confusion. She blinked as she wiped her hands on the kitchen towel and fixed herself up for a bit.

“Who could this be?” Yoojin mumbled to herself but it was loud enough for Bambam to hear. On the other side he was gulping, wondering how he can put it out nicely. He raked his hair using his fingers and closed his eyes. He just knew that he shouldn’t show his face to Yoojin any sooner since she really might murder him.

“I’m sorry Yoojin.” He blurted out. Yoojin took the phone and put it off speaker. She was shaking but tried to keep calm. Bambam’s breathing on the other side was heavy and Yoojin was begging that she heard it wrongly.

“I’m so sorry.”

Before she could have a row with him, Bambam hanged up and left her dumbfounded. The doorbell went again and Ms Baek walked out of her room, looking at Yoojin. The daughter told her mum that she’ll handle it and to go back inside. Ms Baek nodded and Yoojin headed to the door.

Mark thought that the whole world stopped. His eyes were on the pair that he missed so damn much. Then it lingered all over her other features; her nose, her hair, her lips, her chin then finally her whole body. She was standing right there, right in front of Mark and he couldn’t believe it. Finally… he found Yoojin.

“What are you doing here?” Her tone was cold and straight to the point. Mark missed her voice so much.

“I came to see how you’re going. Yoojin I—”

“–goodbye Mark.” She shook her head and stepped back to close the door. Mark attempted to stop it but the heavy door slammed just underneath his nose. She locked it, Mark heard it. But that didn’t stop him.

He knocked on the door. Desperately and loudly. He even tried calling her name, telling her to open the door and to talk but Yoojin showed no mercy and left him out there. He knocked a few more times then fell to the ground, tired and clueless. He had achieve this far, he wasn’t going to back down and go home without getting what he came for.

All he wanted is for Yoojin to listen to him, for her to talk with him so they can sort things out, and maybe, just maybe, for Yoojin to go back to the resident and to him.

“You’re not going to let him in?” Ms Baek asked. She was standing right behind Yoojin and watched the whole scene. Yoojin forgot that her mother was nosy.

Yoojin shook her head and headed to the kitchen, “And I hope you don’t too. I’m begging you mum.”

Ms Baek sighed when she looked out the window and saw Mark walking back and forth at the front. He was muttering by himself, probably trying to work out how he could talk to Yoojin and enter the home.

”So we just leave him there?”

“He has to leave at some point.”

But Mark didn’t leave. Mark was still there, Mark was still waiting even sometimes banging on the door. He called out her names over billions of time now. Mark didn’t leave.

Yoojin and her mum already finished eating and Yoojin already cleaned up after themselves and was getting ready for bed. Ms Baek has been quiet ever since, watching her daughter closely and sighing. Yoojin could feel her mum’s stare behind her head, she could tell that mum was disappointed at her for being stubborn and ignoring the fact that Mark was out there. It was getting close to the colder seasons too.

“He’s going to leave soon mum, don’t worry.” Yoojin told her mother as they lay down on the bed. Ms Baek didn’t say anything and tucked a strand of hair behind her daughter’s ears and patted the top of her head. She then rolled to the other side and pulled the blanket closer to her chin.

Once Ms Baek looked comfortable, Yoojin reach other to the side and turned off the lamp, getting ready to sleep as well.

However, Yoojin couldn’t sleep. She tried her very best to sleep but all she did was twist and turn on the bed. She tried counting sheep in her head, she tried to sing a quiet lullaby for herself but none of her attempts worked.

She laid with her back pressed on the bed and her eyes was staring at the bare ceiling. It would be a lie if she said that she was worrying about Mark.

When Yoojin opened the door, her heart raced so quickly and beat so loudly she was afraid that Mark could hear it too so she stepped far enough. When Mark was simply just staring at her, she did the same and looked at him. He changed his hair colour –it looked natural now in a shade of dark-ish brown. When Mark started to speak, she swear she would’ve melted but since she had her hands on the doorknob, it helped her bring back her sanity. If she let her feelings take over her mind, she would’ve ran into his arms immediately. She missed him, she missed his touch and warmth, his voice, his smell, his everything.

Then she realised that outside was pouring down with rain. Mark has a low immune system and gets sick easily. If he was still out there where its literally having a storm, Yoojin would really hate him.

She hurried out of the bathroom, grabbing her jacket while she does so. Yoojin opened the door and her heart broke to pieces.

There, Mark was sitting down on the ground, his hair and clothes are soaked all over. He stood up when she opened the door and she could see how pale he looked. Mark tried his best to smile but he was shivering and couldn’t control his body easily.

“Yoojin…” He whispered. His voice was croaky and broke in between. Yoojin felt tears prick on the back of her eyes.

Tearing off her jacket she tried to wrap it around him to keep him warm but Mark kept on shaking his head, saying that he was okay and took her jacket off his shivering body. He was being stubborn once again and Yoojin wanted to punch him.

“Enough Mark!” She didn’t mean to shout but she did. Mark froze in his spot, his brows furrowed in confusion. Yoojin took a deep breath and tried making Mark warm once again. “Lets head back in. You’re freezing.”

Mark hummed lightly and his head fell on her shoulder and soon his arms were enveloping her. He closed his eyes and a smile was on his face when he recognised her familiar scent that always made his heart at ease. “Thank you Yoojin…”

Yoojin spent the whole night taking care of Mark who literally slept in her arms. She had to drag his body inside the house and Ms Baek woke up due to the noises. Ms Baek offered to change him into clothes that may fit him since Yoojin didn’t feel uncomfortable. The teen was in charge of taking some icy water and towel to decrease his temperature that was sky-rocketing.

She had no sleep and had to take care of Mark, so she had to call in sick for the day. Thankfully, her bosses didn’t mind and told her to get well soon, even if she really wasn’t sick. It was eleven, nearly hitting the afternoon and Mark was still asleep.

Yoojin decided to make some porridge for him since that’s what Mrs Tuan would always do whenever her son gets sick. The best thing about Mark was that he gets sick easily but quickly as well. She was singing a song while cooking, trying to enjoy the day off and also trying her best to distract herself that Mark and her are in the same room.

She would have never pictured her first interaction like this, actually she could never picture seeing him once again. Yoojin sighed, sometimes life liked teasing her.

Mark woke up, feeling like he wanted to vomit the moment he moved. He touched his surrounding, not knowing how he ended up sleeping in someone’s bed. He looked around him. He was in a unfamiliar bedroom, definitely not his room. Then it struck him. He was in Yoojin’s home.

He slung his legs over the bed to get up. Every limb in his body felt so heavy and weak but Mark’s mood went up when he realised he was wearing female pyjama pants. He suddenly remembered the time Yugyeom gave him pink pants and now his wearing another one. Now that he thought about it, he kind of suit it.

It wasn’t hard to look for Yoojin. She was in the kitchen, singing while happily cooking. Mark has been watching her for a long time but she never realised. He couldn’t help but to think that Yoojin looked the most attractive when she’s cooking. She’s always happy, always looking as though she enjoyed every minute of it.

‘such wife-material’

Mark’s thought made him smirk but it wasn’t the time to be thinking about making her as his wife when Yoojin hated him to his grave.

“Hi.” Mark finally moved and dragged one seat out to sit himself in front of the small dining table. Yoojin looked over her shoulder for a second and filled a bowl of porridge to place in front of him.

“Eat then leave.” Yoojin told him. Her voice was monotone and showed no emotion. Her face was blank and looked bored and tired. Mark wanted to talk to her, to thank her about taking him in and for the food but he just couldn’t start a normal conversation.

“I’m sorry” He started. Mark didn’t look at Yoojin but he just knew that she was waiting and listening. He took he spoon and started to poke around the porridge, “for everything. For what I said at the time we were fighting, for my attitude and for not finding you sooner.”

“I didn’t want to be found Mark” Yoojin told him. She originally wanted to stay still and quiet and if Mark ever tried talking to her, she was supposed to ignore him. She bit . She should really know when to stop.

“Still.”

“Just eat. Sehun is going to come soon and pick you up. I called him.”

Mark let out a short laugh and turned his body around so he was looking at her, “really now? You’re going to run away from this conversation once again? You’re going to keep distance from me once again?”

Yoojin leaned back on the wall behind her and crossed her arms, “what do you expect me to do? To face you? To talk to you and handle this situation once again?” She shook her head slowly, “I’m tired Mark… I’m so tired so please, just cut me some slack and leave me alone”

“it’s not going to go anywhere if you don’t do anything about it. So please, just talk to me and sort this out. We can come to a conclusion and we’ll see from there.”

“I can’t because I’ll start being stupid and fall for you again and then everything would be messed up and I would be messed up. I would be greedy again and want you, I’d want you back again and I don’t know if I can stop myself this time.” Yoojin rubbed her temples. She felt like going sick.

“Do it” Mark whispered.

Yoojin blinked at him, “what?”

“Do it” he repeated. Mark rose to his feet, his heart thumping quickly. “Do it, be greedy. Be greedy and want me back. Be greedy and make things messed up. Be greedy and don’t stop yourself this time. I’ll do the same”

Yoojin scoffed and started to walk backwards. This wasn’t meant to happen. Mark wasn’t supposed to agree with her. He was supposed to tell her to stop it, to handle her feelings, to tell her that it was wrong for her to want it. He wasn’t supposed to feel the same way because her hopes would go high once again and she’ll be hurt once again.

“One last time Yoojin. If you tell me now that you also want to be with me then I’ll do everything to sort out all this troubles. But, the moment you pushed me away means I’ll start this whole marriage thing with Sara who is waiting for me and I’ll be glad to go to her.”

Mark raised his hand for Yoojin to grab and hold. His index finger was jerking up the most and he was starting to get sweaty. He was so afraid of Yoojin’s response, so so scared that his legs might just give away.

Yoojin lifted her head up high and gave him a tight smile, “I’ll see you when I see you?”

Mark dropped his hands. His mouth ajar slightly and his eyes shaking, trying to process what just happened. A car honked and Yoojin ran a hand through her hair, “tell Sehun I said hi and drink some medicine okay?”

Mark didn’t say anything and brushed past her. If he stayed any longer he’ll probably go mad and make the situation worse. If he stayed there he would’ve be on the ground kneeling before her. It’s exactly what happened before she left. He gave her a choice and she rejected it. Mark is learning now, he’s realising that Yoojin really may not want to be with him and he’s the only one holding on.

Yoojin clutched her hand and positioned them behind her back as Mark went passed. If she didn’t do such actions she would’ve been hugging Mark by then, telling him that she was lying, telling him that she doesn’t want him to go and for him to be with her again. Her eyes remained on his back and her heart was slowly breaking piece by piece.

She doubted if Mark felt the same way when she left him last time. Seeing the one she has feelings for walk away from her hurt so much that it was crazy.

Yoojin smacked her forehead. The reason why she was aching was no one else’s fault but hers. She was the only one to blame.
