♥~Chapter Thirty-Five~♥

His Personal Maid

Bambam’s POV:

“Pretty crazy right?” She laughed to herself before I joined in. “I really don’t understand Yugyeom, I’m still in the middle of getting use to him. but I guess his weirdness is his charm” Yoojin grinned and nodded, “right”

We continued to walk together, catching up with a few things we missed out, remembering memories from the past. “My class is over there” Yoojin pointed to the right corner, “lets meet later okay?” I nodded and waved and she skipped to her next class which made me smile at the sight.

I reached the end of the hall, my next class was around the corner but as I became nearer I could hear two people talking… wait no, arguing.

Pressing the back on the wall, I let my only my eyes past the wall, checking who it was. Surprised to see Mark suddenly taking Sara by the shoulder and pushed her against the wall with a loud thud, I instantly tore my eyes off them but I didn’t walk away.

“Oppa… with you acting like this, it’s like you have feelings for that silly girl”

 Girl? Who could it be?

My brows furrowed as I tried to think of what or who they could’ve been arguing about. I shook my head, its probably one of their childish fights over small things. They have been doing that a lot these days.

‘It’s useless Mark. You are never going to win the argument anyways’ I thought to myself.

Knowing how stubborn Sara could be, she would never do anything Mark would say and just find a way to fight. But what Mark responded with shocked me.

“Yes, that’s right. I do like Yoojin. She’s the one that I like” my breath suddenly shortened and my hands suddenly balled into a fist.

“She’s the one that I have feelings for, and I’m willing to do anything so that you can’t or won’t even think about touching even a strand of her hair”

Mark’s voice was firm, straight-forward. This guy was confessing his true feelings, he was honest, and you can hear it in his voice. No hesitations, no pauses, no thought of taking his words back. I gulped, my insides were boiling, I was shocked but madder at his confessions.

I slowly took a peek at the two since their silence was confusing me. Sara was looking at him straight in the eye and Mark did the same, both of them letting out heavy breathing. Before Mark could react, Sara’s hand flew across his face.

Her slap was loud and sharp and Mark just sighed at the actions.

“I-I-I hate you so much” Sara let out a harsh whisper and whipped her body around, walking away. Mark quickly grabbed her wrist and made her turn back around. I was back behind the walls, careful of Sara spotting me yet continued to peek.

“Why? Are you going to demand for an apology? My . You deserve everything Tuan” Sara sneered.

“Even if I want an apology, an apology from you would be bull and won’t change anything. Because you don’t mean it, you don’t have a heart Sara”

“Then what? Can’t you just let me walk off? Let me turn my back to you. Can’t you just let me the one walking away from you even just this one time?! For once… can I be the one pushing you away?”

I looked closely at Sara’s eyes. It was twinkling as tears slowly formed. I can sense what Mark was feeling right now, maybe even guess what his expression is even though his back is turned to me. No matter what happens, no matter who you are, Mark Tuan will always think of others before him.

Cry in front of him, or if he knew he hurt you, Mark will become weak and break his image. His slipped his grip off Sara, “don’t do anything stupid. I’m warning you” Mark reminded Sara who scoffed at the warning, “I can’t promise you that Mark”

“well duh, your no good at keeping promises” He cocked his head at Sara, I knew he was referring about what happened before. When they promise to never leave each other but she broke it, she broke everything.

“Go” Mark whispered, loud enough for me to hear, “walk away. Turn your back to me. Do what you wanted to do” Sara glared at him but instead of turning around she brushed past him, cursing under her breath.

I decided that it was time for me to go, I walked to wherever just as long at Sara won’t notice me.  I decided to just walk around the school. The bell already rang a few minutes ago, I’m already late anyways. Though I was careful, it looked like it wasn’t good enough since Sara grabbed my hand stopping me.

“That was for both of us” She told me, I gave her a confuse expression which she understood. “The slap”

I blinked, I wanted to open my mouth to say something but she put up her hands and simply strutted off. I stood there, dumbfounded.

She knew. I could tell she knows.

I already knew I had feelings for Yoojin, I couldn’t help but to. That girl was really something, how could she change someone’s heart like that? I remembered when I use to be dying just to be next to Mark, to see Mark, to be Mark’s attention.

To be the cause of Mark’s smile and laughter, to be the one that Mark could come to whenever for whatever because it made me feel happy to know that he trusts me and is comfortable with me, but now why is it that his eyes always looked out for Yoojin?

She was very addictive, like a drug that can feel you at ease, a drug that can make you smile and laugh easily, a drug that makes your heart and adrenaline quicken. I knew myself better than anyone, my thoughts, my curiosity, my questions- I could never do anything if they weren’t answered, if they weren’t corrected.

I know for a fact that I do have feelings for Yoojin and that Mark, he is my rival. Many people are since many people have feelings for Yoojin, I don’t blame them, there’s no one to blame, but Mark, he fell as hard as I did, no, even harder than I had.

He was first, he liked her first.

I could tell by his eyes, I could tell just by the way he treated her somehow different than others. I was quick person, I wasn’t stubborn like the others so yes, I knew he liked her, I knew even back when I had feelings for him.

It’s funny to think that I was gay, well bi. I never once thought I could be. I’m sure of my feelings; I wasn’t ashamed of my gender, because I’m still the same as the others.

The only problem was that I fell to quick. I judged my feelings way to quick. I told myself I liked Mark, I did, but not as deep as I thought, but now it’s different- Yoojin, she makes me go crazy liked no one can.

But what can I do? It seems like my feelings for her are useless. Judging from what he has seen, Yoojin… she likes someone. I know she does, and I’m only telling myself she doesn’t , because I would be lying if I tell anyone that it doesn’t hurt me, that it has no effect on me because it does, it freaking does.

I closed my eyes and lay my head on the table, I remembered when Yoojin was laying on my lap, during that moment, I was happy, so happy I could fly. But her gazes, her thoughts of him, I could tell that she wanted to be with someone.

Though she was there, lying down on his lap, though I could touch her, I could hear her… she was far away, she was slowly slipping away from the hand that I had put out. Yoojin was moving along to another, I knew that she had already accepted her feelings for him.

I knew about Yoojin’s feelings, and I was stupid for liking her too late, I was stupid for liking her when her heart wasn’t mine’s anymore.

“Hey there” Nayeon patted my back. I glanced her way before going back to my position. “Why are you here?”

“What do you mean? I’m here to learn obviously” she set her bag on the floor and slipped on the seat next to me.

“What happened to your drama classes?” I mumbled.

 “Not taking it anymore”

“Whatever, seats taken though” I said, sitting up looking for Dongjun who was the owner of the seat that Nayeon was sitting on. “Yeah, I know. It’s mine” Nayeon grinned.

“I’m serious Yeon”

“So am I Bam” Nayeon took her pencil out and started to play with it. “Are you in love with Dongjun or something? I asked him if he could move and he agreed. I never forced him” “

I’m not in love, he’s just smart that’s all” I threw her a cheeky smile, “you and your cheating habits” Nayeon laughed.

“Physics is hard okay? But that guy was pretty laid back. He’s better than the peasants” I made a face as I looked around the room. Nayeon nodded. I noticed that she wasn’t like her bright self, something must’ve happened.

“Spill Nayeon. Don’t even think about lying to me” She looked at me and smiled embarrassingly, since I found her out but she didn’t say anything and just popped a gum in and did the same thing to me.

“You were good at drama. I remember when you always say you wanted to become an actor or something like that” I blew a bubble but she popped it cheekily. “Yeah, it was the past. Mum opposes of it anyways” she reached over and opened the window, I think that she suddenly felt hot and stuffy after confessing.

“She said that I won’t become famous anyways. She told me to look at the reality and focus on studying, it’s the least that I could do”

I instantly looked at her; I knew how harsh Mrs Im was even to her own daughter. She noticed my look and mouthed ‘I’m fine’ and looked to the front when the teacher came in, and I copied her.

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Yoojin left the school a little later than the other students did. Gathering all of her notes and books was pretty hard and they were really heavy too. She received many advices from her teachers on what she should on and jotted all of them down. Besides, Mark and she were in an awkward position still, plus he needed to sort out stuff with his parents.

Yoojin thanked Mr Tuan after getting permission to go home a little later than usual and set off to the library.

The librarian greeted her in warmly and looked down on her arms that were filled with books and papers. The librarian looked like she was about to walk over and Yoojin but Yoojin kindly rejected the offer, “I’m fine, thank you” The librarian nodded understandingly and pointed at a specific table on the far right corner.

The table was larger than the rest and it was far away from the others as well, providing the space and privacy that she needed.

“Tell me when you’re going to come to the library, I can reserve that table for you” the librarian smiled sweetly.

Now that Yoojin looked, the library was young, a lot younger than the other librarian she has seen. She was kind and sweet as well, not like the other stereotypical librarian portrayed in movies and such.

The soft ticking of the clock above calmed Yoojin’s mind, her pen going in sync with the beat as she read over a page. Letting out a big, tired sigh, Yoojin set everything down and let her head fall backwards. She did a lot during the past two hours, though her hands and neck ached, she was happy. Yoojin took a sip of the now-cold coffee that the librarian kindly offered her and the other people inside.

“Thanks for this” Sunwoong, a college student whom she met a few minutes ago appeared with her ruler.

“It’s okay Sunwoong-ssi” Yoojin retrieved her belongings back with a tired smile. “You should start heading out, it looks like there’s going to be a storm tonight” Sunwoong fixed the straps of his bag, “get someone to pick you up and don’t get sick. If you do, you won’t be able to study” he threw her a kind smile.

“Thank you” Yoojin let out a small chuckle, she knew that Sunwoong thought she was a study-freak, not that she cared though. She was pretty happy that someone could notice how hard she’s trying to do, she was passionate about her studies and the amount of books on her desk gives it away anyways.

“Work hard, you’ll get there eventually” then he started to exit, not forgetting to say his goodbyes to the librarian who nodded.

Yoojin stood up and walked to the window, it did look dark even though it was only 5, during this time you’ll be able to see the sun, well the sunset. It looked like what Sunwoong said was true.

The heavy, dark clouds hovered above, ready to pour down with rain. Yoojin bit the insides of her cheeks an texted Bambam. “Would you mind walking me home? If you’re busy I mean, I just need help with my books. Bring an umbrella just in case~”

Mark growled then slammed the door of his bed room shut. He leaned against it and felt the hard pounding of his father through the door.

“Yi-en!! I’m not finish yet!!” Mr Tuan shouted, jingling the doorknob but Mark already locked it. “Don’t be such a brat Mark. Come out and talk”

“I don’t want to talk” Mark hissed.

“Look you’re the one that ruined though you know there would be consequences, you still chose to do so. Come out and be a man. Don’t you dare say you don’t deserve this”

Mark could hear soft jingling and hurried footsteps nearing his room. He knew it was probably a maid coming with the keys to his room. He used his weight against the door when his father unlocked it and tried opening the door.

“Mark Tuan!!” Mr Tuan roared as he started to becoming fed up with his son. Mark gritted his teeth and chose to open the door.

“I know it was my fault that the dinner was ruined, but I don’t care. I don’t give a crap about the wedding at all. I don’t want to be with Sara again and I can’t just sit there while you try and manage my life your way. What the hell was I supposed to do? I hate it, I hate you!” Mark shouted at his father, huffing hard when he finished.

Mr Tuan stood there, brows creased. He gave his son another glance before stalking off. Mark’s collapsed to the floor afterwards. The shouting made him feel weak, his throat hurt and shoulders filled with guilt.

He never once raised his voice at his parents like the way he did just then. Sure he did pick fights with them but he never yelled. Mark would usually walk away, ignoring them, that way he wouldn’t feel bad when he sees them the next day.

He was the type of person that cares for someone deeply, yet never shows it. To him that was his weak side, he was sensitive with people’s feelings, he does care a lot.

“It wasn’t long till you’re going to burst anyways, besides they deserve it” Mark mumbled, feeling sickening right afterwards.

His horrid words made him feel like a criminal. Never once he meant what he cusses out, especially to his parents. The worst thing was that he knew he wanted something bad to happen to his parents, he meant his words, and they came from his heart.

He groaned disgusted at himself. Many thoughts raced around his mind, making him feel dizzy, he wanted them gone. He wanted to forget about everything, even if it was just for a second, maybe a minute if he was lucky. Mark stood up and walked down to Yoojin’s room, knowing she could help.

The door was open. The room smelt like chemicals which meant that the maids came and cleaned the room. Mark could still smell her scent through the amount of chemicals in the room. Her scent was dominating, it was so strong. Warm and sweet, inviting yet dangerous.

Mark let out a small chuckle, the girl is dangerous. There’s something about Yoojin that just makes you want to care about her so much. You just want to make her yours. Just then Mark realised he hasn’t seen her yet.

He could hear the grumbling of the thunder. It was getting closer to the colder seasons, meaning more storms, more rain. Then he remembered, storm meant thunder- Yoojin has a phobia of thunder.

Mark panicked and called the gang, Youngjae informed him that she stayed behind to the library near the school, alone. Mark didn’t waste even a second and ran out with a racing heart.

It started to pour down with rain the time he stepped out of his house. The thunder started to get louder and the lightning struck more often, surprising him at times since they felt and looked so near. He looked to the right, he have been running for a while now reaching the café that was near the school. Using his knowledge the library would be to his left. The cars beeped when he crossed the road without looking. Mark bowed and fastened his pace.

The more the thunder struck the more he grew worried. He then realised why his heart was beating so fast. It was not because of the lightning that he, himself found very terrifying, it wasn’t because he was running to the point his legs could snap right there and then, it was because of he cared for Yoojin.

He was afraid to think about what she was doing right now, she was alone which made things worse. Was she crying? Was she fine? Mark hoped she was fine.

Mark let out a small chuckle as he ran. He couldn’t believe how hard he fell for Yoojin, how much he cared for her. He cared about her more than he cared about himself. He risked his own health just for her.

Mark knew his body was very weak with the cold and especially with the rain. He gets sick easily but there he is running out on the street where it’s raining heavily wearing just a thin, useless shirt that’s now drenched and sticked to his skin.

Out of nowhere Sara popped out. Her expression, her words, her slap when Mark confessed his true feelings- it haunted him. why does it feel like his heart ached when he saw the tears she tried so hard to stop from falling, the hard slap she gave him was definitely nothing compared to his tummy churning. Sara reminded Mark of himself when she wanted to break up.

The pain he felt that day, is that what she felt earlier? Maybe, maybe not. Mark doesn’t even know if she actually liked him.

He shook his head and focused on running, focused on Yoojin. His head started to become lightheaded as it filled with worry for Yoojin, confusion from Sara, guilt from his parents and the cold wind wasn’t helping either. He felt so sick that he could pass out.
