♥~Chapter Fifty-Two~♥

His Personal Maid

Bambam glanced at the massive white clock that hanged on one of the grey bricked up pillar showing the time and the schedule of the trains entering and exiting. He nodded to himself when he read that he had about twelve minutes remaining till his train comes. He walked to one of the glass windows of one of the empty stalls.

He hummed with the music that played in his ears as he flattened his light brown dyed hair. Bambam ran all the way to the station as quickly as he could, thinking that he was about to miss his train.

The wind helped him make his hair look like some kind of lion’s mane on top of his head.

He checked that his hair looked alright. He checked his shoe laces to see if they were tied then his clothes if they were tidy. The weather was still warm, going into the cold as autumn had come. He rolled up his baby blue polo’s sleeves then closed his eyes and leaned against the glass window –forehead on the surface, his back to the public.

All of the sudden, a strong gust of wind was blown on the back of his neck. Shivers ran down all around his body, all of his skinny limbs reacting heavily on it.

Bambam twirled around only to face a smiling Cecilia. She laughed when she saw the massive frown on his face that went larger as seconds came passed. She poked his cheek and Bambam smacked it away.

“What are you doing here?” Bambam asked, straightening himself up and shut his music off.

“I’d like to ask you the same question” Cecilia stared pass him at the window. She smoothed down the baby hairs that peeped out of her high pony tail.

“I’m serious”

“Likewise”

Bambam sighed, giving up. He could never get a serious answer from Cecilia. She always liked to annoy him with half-heartedly answers that never make sense. It was her talent and it always worked on Bambam. He wanted to curse at her but he still wanted his left ear attacked to the side of his head so he simply weaved around her body. The train was coming up next anyway.

“I’m dead serious Bam” Cecilia said. Bambam rolled his eyes and ignored that fact that she was standing so close to him. They were both standing in front, just behind the yellow line. A group of people was starting to surround them –all of them were going to enter the same train.

“You’ve been acting weird lately”

“How would you know when we don’t hang out?”

“Because I watch you from a far”

Bambam’s brows levitated in amusement at the answer he received from the girl next to him. He gawked down at Cecilia who snapped her head to face the other side. She acted so flustered as though the words that came out weren’t supposed to come out. Bambam swore that he saw a blush of light pink growing on both of her cheeks.

“Anyway” Cecilia cleared , gaining her normal composer but still not facing Bambam. She crossed her arm and kicked the ground with her left foot back and forth, “wherever you’re going, I’m coming. Don’t even bother arguing because we both know that I won’t back down”

It’s only been a short time that went by ever since he found Yoojin, less than a week, or maybe just passed it. He wasn’t exactly sure but all he knows was that he wanted more time. They’ve met about four times ever since they met.

Bambam would simply drop by in her work places which he found out all thanks to Ms Baek and sometimes even order countlessly and forced her to be the one that serves him. Yoojin would always remember to throw death threats at him beneath her breath but at the end of the day she’ll thank him for accompanying her even if Bambam was being annoying.

Maybe it was enough. Being selfish wasn’t really something that’s up to Bambam’s forte. Besides, he made enough memories, memories where they were both happy and relaxed. It was enough and even if it was short, it was good enough.

He’ll save the memories in his mind, remember it then let go when the time was right, this way he could let Yoojin go happily. Everyone knows it was useless for Yoojin to have a thing for Bambam anyway.

He looked at Cecilia who was facing the front. The train just arrived a few seconds ago and everyone was making way for the people who was about to exit it. Bambam unknowingly latched onto her elbows, pulling her close to his chest when she didn’t notice the group of guys play fighting with one another as they hope off.

One was shoving the tallest one who stumbled and was just about to hit Cecilia before Bambam stepped aside, pulling her with him.

He guided the two safely inside where there was only one seat that was available. He nudged her to sit down and Cecilia hesitated before doing so. Bambam stood right in front of her, holding onto the grip that hanged on the metal railings.

“What?” Bambam asked. He caught Cecilia staring at him. She opened ready to shot a smartass comeback but decided to just let it go. Instead she just shrugged one shoulder and pointed at him.

“You’re letting me follow you”

“It’s better this way” Bambam answered slowly, “Besides, even if I threaten to call the police that some cute chick is stalking me, following me wherever I go, you will never stop”

Cecilia stomped on his foot. Bambam let out a groan and hoped on the uninjured one, glaring deeply at her which he had to fix into a force smile since the old lady that was sitting next to Cecilia was watching him closely.

Cecilia followed his eyes, laughing and thanked the lady for telling him off so professionally without any use of words or violence. Bambam was whining quietly that it wasn’t fair since they ganged up on him.

“Wait” Cecilia mumbled, suddenly realising something. “Did you just call me…cute?”

Bambam glanced up at the top right of the bus checking how many stops was left before they had to go. He focused back at Cecilia who gaped at him, mouth open wide. He nodded, shrugging casually, “yeah. Is that a problem?”

“N-N-No”

Bambam grinned when he spot the second pair of natural blush that was painted on her cheek. This one was a lot more darker, a lot more obvious. Cecilia lowered her head, leaning back on the seat and mumbled that she felt tired. Bambam watched as she pretended to sleep even though he could spot the fact that she was biting back a smile.

A scoff escaped his mouth. He was surprised to see such side of her.

‘Cute’

Ms Baek smiled wide open, eyes wide and wondering. It was the first time that she and her daughter were going out into the open that had nothing to do with simply heading for work. They walked around the endless streets, filled with different shops and boutiques, cafes and bars in every corner.

They haven’t bought anything, all they did was window shopping and sometimes going inside shops when they were curious about the interior. It was no problem, it was a lot more fun that way in Ms Baek’s dictionary.

The fact that Yoojin would laugh out loud when Ms Baek tried on outfits that she put together herself made her laugh out loud as well, even if Yoojin did call her a fashion terrorist.

“Bambam said he’s near the restaurant already” Yoojin told her mother after checking her best friend’s text. Ms Baek placed the black wide-brimmed floppy hat back to its original place and interlaced their arms together. The mother and daughter waved at the lady behind the counter who wished them a good day before leaving.

On the way to the restaurant was stuffy, hot and definitely crowded. The people were starting to come, filling narrow streets. Yoojin was glad that it wasn’t night time. She knew that it will be a lot more worse since the night life was more alive than during the day.

Her mother was telling her a story about her childhood memories. However, she suddenly felt the rush to turn around as though something was calling her name, but when she looked back there was no one that she knew around. She stopped in her tracks and squint her eyes, trying harder to scan the crowd.

The tug from Ms Baek made her stop and the two were already in front of the restaurant that Bambam and her planned to go. They entered the place, escaping the rowdy group of people to a warm, breathtaking eatery.

“Did you wait long?” Bambam hurriedly went to the other side of the four seat table and pulled a chair out for Ms Baek who chuckled, ruffled his hair then sat down. Bambam looked at his friend who sat down on her own, shaking his head to answer her previous answer. “Nah. I just came about three to five minutes ago”

“Uh… Jin” He called out carefully as he sat down on the other side of the table. Yoojin raised a brow and waited for him to continue. Before he spoke, he looked a corner of the diner where the restrooms were. The girl that he was just about to mention walked out. Bambam glanced at Yoojin who already saw the girl without him saying anything. Yoojin was left speechless.

“I hope you don’t mind. You know Cecilia, she wanted to come and she wouldn’t take no for an answer”

The said girl spotted Yoojin and rushed to her side. Without a word she immediately bent down and attacked Yoojin with a bone-crushing hug. Yoojin patted her back lightly, motioning that she couldn’t breathe.

“She was suspecting me and followed me here. I just told her everything when we arrived here” Bambam explained to Yoojin.

“You tell him where you were but not me? Not 6Mix?”

“Nayeon knows” Bambam added. He stood and moved down a seat so Cecilia could sit down in front of her friend. The moment that Bambam’s sentence processed in her head, she suddenly wondered if there were any more secrets that were being hidden from her. Cecilia bowed at Ms Baek when she noticed that the lady was with them.

Cecilia forgave Yoojin instantly, saying that she had her reasons and that she understood. All of the sudden, she was telling Yoojin stories about 6Mix, about what was happening and their ideas for the dance and also gossips. Bambam told them the fight between Mark and JB which Cecilia didn’t even know about, which was weird since they go to the same school yet she didn’t know things like she used to. Yoojin happily told them her new lifestyle, her jobs and her new friends.

Ms Baek had to leave, saying that she needed to fill in for someone at her work. Bambam offered to send her there since Ms Baek’s workplace was near the shop that he needed to look for what he was going to where at the competition. The two teenage girls were left behind.

“Will you come?” Cecilia twirled the straw in her hand lightly. She watched as the ice inside clinked and hit the side of the glass. The light pink liquid of her watermelon juice stirred like a whirlpool when she increased the pace of her spinning.

“To where?” Yoojin questioned.

“To the competition?

“The dance one?”

“Yeah” Cecilia lifted her head and nod at Yoojin.

She sighed, slumping back on her seat and looked afar. The girl really didn’t know whether she wanted to go or not. She didn’t even know if she had time to visit. Most importantly however, she didn’t know whether she had the courage to meet her friends, to meet him. Meeting Nayeon, Bambam and Cecilia was more than enough for her. She would always get shock, speechless and not knowing what to do when she faced them over the past few days. What would happen to her if she meets all of them together, if she meets Mark?

No. Yoojin shook her head. It wasn’t the time to mention Mark.

Cecilia was writing down something on the napkin. She borrowed a pen from the waited that just walked passed their table without Yoojin even knowing. After Cecilia finished, she slid the napkin in front of Yoojin.

“The address, date and time” Cecilia said, smiling warmly, “if you want to come, come. If not then it’s okay”

“Alright” Cecilia suddenly clapped her hand loudly, starling Yoojin who was in the middle of stuffing the napkin inside the back pocket of her jeans. “Now, some girl-talk. A confession from me”

Yoojin sipped her drink. She thought it was completely random that they were suddenly confessing secrets to one another. But she leaned forward on the desk and Cecilia mirrored her.

“Totally random but I feel like this is the best time to tell you right now. Besides, you deserve to know… I think” Cecilia shrugged, stumbling with her words and letting out a nervous chuckle.

She wiped her hands that was freezing cold due to the fact that she used it to clutch her cold drink so tightly on the jeans then took a huge gulp of air. “Do you remember Mark’s birthday? When we went out shopping and I said I have feelings for someone but didn’t tell you?” Cecilia waited until Yoojin waited before she continued, “Yeah, well I’m ready now.”

“I said something like ‘I’ll tell you when you get yourself together’ or something like that and it’s only because you didn’t know who you liked at that time and I could tell Yoojin. I could tell that you were already getting over Bambam and starting to like Mark without you even realising it”

Yoojin flushed. Either Cecilia was super observant and has a talent when it comes to knowing people’s feelings or maybe she was just obvious to people’s eyes.

A lot of people called her dense, innocent, and clueless and she never agreed. She didn’t want to be dense, but then again, she didn’t even know that Bambam liked her before he confessed. Yoojin decided to just up the truth, okay, maybe she really was dense.

“I… I like Bambam” Cecilia confessed so quietly that it took a while for Yoojin to realise what she said. She gasped out loud, so loud that the couple that was sitting across from them looked over to see if something bad happened. Cecilia kicked her leg under the table and Yoojin scratched the back of her neck sheepishly.

“I couldn’t tell you at that time because it was just weird, that you’’ believe we like the same person. I don’t know, but I was chickening out and decided that I’ll just tell you later on, which I did –right now” Cecilia took a sip of her juice.

She felt so hot all of the sudden. She grabbed another napkin from the pile and fanned herself with it, even if it really didn’t do much.

“Who would’ve thought that Cecilia would like Bambam”

Yoojin shook her head, “I mean, you just seem to hate Bambam to his guts and more like, only like him as a brother or something”

“Yeah, well people do say that we all do some weird stuff to people we like. It’s like how guys become douches, us girls either become cute as crap, or scary as crap” Cecilia merely shrugged. She glanced back to the couple who had already stopped staring at them. The girl was feeding her boyfriend cake and the boyfriend laughed and bopped her nose as a thank you. Cecilia could never imagine herself being the type of girlfriend that was the cutesy type, but it wouldn’t mean that she won’t love them any less. She just wished that Bambam would accept her personality. He was always a er for the innocent types, it was no wonder he had feelings for Yoojin so quickly.

“I don’t like Bambam… but he, uh, there’s this thing and…” Yoojin remembered that Bambam liked her. She didn’t know how to say it, she didn’t know how to word it properly a way that it wouldn’t make her sound cocky or uptight.

Cecilia laughed, seeing her nervous state. “I know Yoojin, I know Bambam likes you. Everyone knows” She said it so casually as though it has no effect on her. Yoojin wondered how she did it because when Mark might’ve had feelings for Sara, Yoojin beat herself up just because of it.

“But you don’t like him, that’s why I’m telling you know. I’m just checking if you’re fine with it”

Yoojin snorted, “of course! I think you two will look cute together”

Cecilia lost count on how much she blushed that day.

☺☺☺☺☺

JB looked over at Mark, checking if he was okay. Mark nodded when he saw the worried look in the leader’s eyes. Bambam patted his back and went to his position. Finally, it was time. The competition was finally taking place and Got7 was just about to perform.

The stage was a lot larger than the pre-competition at school. The crowd was doubled, maybe even tripled and they filled the whole stadium, from the top to the bottom.

The lights were turned off, waiting for them to get ready. The crowd was silent, waiting patiently for them to start. Only the sound of the member’s nervous breathing could be heard and also Jackson’s breathy ‘oh my god’ when the stage monitors told them to get ready.

Mark closed his eyes. Finally, their dream was happening. Even if they won’t win, at least they were together, as a team just like how they wanted it to happen. His heart pounded quickly and he touched to feel it under his palm.

Then the music started. Lights were and the members had to quickly adapt to the brightness and their body moved with the beat just like how they practiced over and over again.

Mark smiled when Yugyeom made a mini mistake and hit him on the arm. Every member saw but didn’t mind. People makes mistakes and Yugyeom quickly picked himself up and flawlessly moved around the stage as if his mistakes from earlier didn’t happen.

The performance was nearing its end and Mark took a good look in the ground. He had to breathe in the wide eyes and smiling faces. He had to take in the whispers of amused comments and the claps. He took in that familiar brown puppy eyes that never left his dancing figure.

Mark gasped out loud and jumped at the same time at s but missed the next move after that. His mind was going crazy. No, he practiced this till he was sweating so much, from day to night that he changed about seven times a day. How could he mess up?

He tried to tear off his eyes that continued to stare at him. When it realised that he was staring too it moved. She stood up from her seat, ready to leave. Mark now knows that he isn’t hallucinating because Bambam spotted her too and told Mark to ignore it for now. But how could Mark simple ignore the fact that the girl that he knows he saw earlier during the week appeared before him again and this time he won’t let her go.

Mark suddenly felt dizzy. His breathing wasn’t normal. He felt himself panic when she started to walk off to the nearest exit. JB yelled his name and Mark didn’t even bother to dance anymore and started to walk, but his legs were shaky.

“Yoojin!” he shouted, but the music was a lot louder than him and the grounds went into a burst of confused whispers. Why was the performer not performing and just standing there?

JB yelled his name once again but Mark didn’t hear it, he didn’t even realise that he fell to the ground. His attention was only on the girl that already disappeared out of the exit in a flash. Then everything went black.
