♥~Chapter Forty-One~♥

His Personal Maid

“Shiro! Yah! Come here!”

The ball of fluff escaped through the small crack at the front door and was then running towards the main gate, barking as he sensed human presence. Yoojin dropped the pan that she was wiping dry and ran after the new puppy, mentally yelling at herself when it was her fault for not closing the door fully.

“Don’t open the gate please!” She begged to no one, well to the guards but they were on the other side of the door, they couldn’t her her. Yoojin knew Shiro quiet well know, she knew that he would make a dash the moment the gates open. As expected, the guards didn’t hear her, and the gates opened for the person on the other side.

As the gates slowly unlocked and moved inwards, Shiro looked back at his owner- his eyes shone cheekily before dashing out of the Tuan’s residence. Yoojin couldn’t help but to notice the similarities between Mark and Shiro. Both troublemakers, both laughed to and see her frustrated and well… both dogs.

The guards were taken by surprised when the puppy came out of where, one looked back and gave an apologetic smile at Yoojin who gave up and simply walked. Luckily Shiro didn’t run away, of course he would, Shiro would never run away from Yugyeom who just happened to be the person that Shiro sensed.

Shiro liked Yugyeom. A lot. Shiro liked Yugyeom so much that Yoojin always have to question her puppy’s gender, but then, it is Yugyeom that she was talking about. He’s prettier than any girls, and can be as hot as hell than all of his hyungs. Yoojin didn’t really blame Shiro for falling in love with the giant.

“Did you run a lot noona?” Yugyeom smirked after eyeing Yoojin’s current state- messy hair that sticked on her face, her scarf was loosed and hanged uselessly around her neck, barefooted and wearing a flower printed and neon coloured apron that got the people that walked passed attention. Yoojin chest heaved up and down as she tried to catch her breath once again, creating huge smokes into the freezing winter air.

“No, I didn’t run a lot. I’m just not athletic” Yoojin admitted, shaking her head at Yugyeom’s comment who laughed at her.

“You should start to participate in gym class more then, noona” He winked and finally took Shiro in his arms who was pretty much clawing his paw into Yugyeom’s jeans to get his attention.

“Yeah I really should” Yugyeom walked over to Yoojin, fixing her hair which made Shiro let out small whines. Yoojin scoffed tutting at her puppy who seemed to send laser glares at her through its big brown eyes that used to always seek for love and attention but was now filled with hatred, especially when it comes to Yugyeom.

“Aigoo, Shiro-ah, you’re a male dog, okay? You’re supposed to like girls not guys” Yoojin scolded, a pout on her lips but Shiro was already looking up at Yugyeom, burying his body into Yug’s to get warm.

Yoojin remembered the day when she practically begged Yugyeom to come over at Mark’s so he could meet Shiro since Yoojin felt the closest to him. Yoojin decided that she wanted Yugyeom to be the first one to see Shiro before the others does (excluding Bambam and Mark). However, ever since that day Shiro never even glanced at her whenever Yugyeom was around. How rude

“Head inside, I’ll carry your bags for you” Yoojin joked but Yugyeom took her seriously and started his way inside the house, saying his greetings and thanks to the guards as he walked passed them. Yoojin scoffed, watching his retreating back then looked over at his luggage for the trip.

“Wow, I really need to rethink my choice of friends” Yoojin sighed and slung his backpack over her shoulder and dragged the other one with her, hating the looks that the guards gave her. Yoojin cursed Yugyeom heavily in her mind.

Everyone started to enter the house one by one; 6Mix and Got7 were all getting together to spend the final days of 2014 before the new year comes. It was all the leaders ideas- Nayeon and JB just brought the idea up and everyone agreed to it. They were heading to the beach, the sea side where Yoojin had barely any memories of.

Sara heard of the idea somehow, most likely from Bambam and decided to invite herself. She promised them to leave the stay in her hands; she told them she knew a way for them to get a beach house or maybe two without them needing to pay.

Mark was complaining to Jisoo the other day, saying that why they let Sara come with them. He said that it didn’t matter if she knew someone who can lead them a beach house when Mark could do it himself. He said it was easy for them to get a stay. It didn’t need a connection, which means they didn’t need Sara. Jisoo talked Mark into just letting her come with them, to let out his entire grudge even if it was just for a little bit and enjoy the holidays. It took Mark a while; he gave up and went with the idea of Sara helping them provide a roof above their heads.

So now, all they were waiting for was Sara.

Mr Tuan came back after being away for a few weeks without saying anything to his families or co-workers and friends. Mrs Tuan and Mark were supposed to be really mad at him, but they were just super glad that he was safe after not hearing from him for such a long time. Apparently though, Mr Tuan managed to fix the problems overseas and lessened the problems that may or may not pile up as time goes pass. Whatever he was doing after being away wasn’t as useless and selfish as what Mrs Tuan thought.

“You’ve grown quite a bit haven’t you?” Mr Tuan scanned Bambam from his head to his toes as he came through the front door, a backpack heavy on his shoulders. Yoojin honestly felt worried that the backpack might hurt him because Bambam was for sure skinny and the bag did look quiet full.

“A bit?” Mark raised a brow, who told Bambam to take the bag off his back because he was thinking the same thing that Yoojin did, even if he was skinny himself. “Either I shrunk or you rose like hell” Mark stood beside Bambam, remembering the days when Bambam was nearly 10 centimetres smaller than him.

“More like from hell” Cecilia commented, over hearing the conversation. Mark snorted after seeing Bambam’s expression it was the whole meaning of the saying ‘if looks could kill’ because honestly Cecilia would’ve been murdered at that very moment with Bambam as the murderer. Cecilia flipped her hair over her shoulder, not caring Bambam’s glare on her and walked to the lounge room where Jackson was in a middle of a fight between Lena and Jeongyeon. The three was fighting over a bag of chips, even though there were so many other packets in the table, they just happen to really like the same flavours and was too selfish to share.

“You take drugs don’t you?” Mr Tuan squinted his eyes at Bambam who turned his attention back to him. “I just grew little by little. Mark seemed like he stopped?” Mark smacked him on the back of his head, mumbling curses at him underneath his forehead but got his own punishment by his father telling him to watch his language.

Ms Baek walked towards Mr Tuan, a file and a cup of coffee in her hands. She wore a matching scarf that Yoojin had knitted herself for Christmas. Christmas was just a few days ago, 4 days to be exact. Ms Baek and Yoojin spoiled each other mini gifts that they knew the other liked even if it wasn’t anything extravagant or pricey. The Tuan’s had their own little get together and decided to let the Baek’s have the days off as well as the other few workers in the residence.

The two families met a restaurant at the end of the day, to spend the last hours together of the happy day. It was a warm Christmas, one of the best Christmas that Yoojin experienced.

“Sir… Hyemi said that Mrs Tuan had already signed this and only needs your approval until we can give it to the other companies” Ms Baek told Mr Tuan who read the files that she gave him.

Ms Baek became an assistant rather than being a maid, because she had experience with business managing after having her own café and bakery from the past.

Yoojin wasn’t complaining though because it meant her mum didn’t have to move as much or to do anything physical. It was the best choice for her health and her mother seemed to enjoy her new occupation. Yoojin could tell that it reminded her of the past. Yoojin always knew that her mother liked managing stuff, she liked business even if it was a bit of a handful. Yoojin wanted her mother to be happy and now Yoojin has a feeling that her mother is happy, she’s happy as well.

Mr Tuan nodded at Ms Baek, putting the files underneath his armpits to grab his coffee. “you have fun okay? come back in one piece, don’t make a fool of yourself son” Mr Tuan told Mark, he needed to start going through the paper works before they start to pile up once again.

“I’ll see you guys out later okay?” Ms Baek fixed Yoojin’s hair. Yoojin had already clean herself up after the incident with Yugyeom before anyone else came, before anyone else mde fun of her appearance because Yugyeom was having the time of his life laughing at her. Yoojin nodded and Ms Baek trailed behind Mr Tuan.

Sara came a few minutes afterwards wearing a cute maroon long-sleeved dress, layered with a thick black coat and heavy scarf that draped around her neck luxuriously. Yoojin felt like a potato wearing a sweater and jeans underneath her own beige coat and scarf. Yoojin wandered how Sara made her scarf look so good with her outfit because hers looked childish.

“won’t you be cold… noona?” Yugyeom scratched his head, confused on how to address Sara. She smiled kindly at him, so sweetly that Yoojin had to turn her head away feeling jealous at how she could look flawless without even trying.

“The cars have heaters, and I have change anyways. Thanks… Gyeom” Sara fiddled with the sleeves of her coat, addressing her old friend the way she did before felt foreign but warm.

The aura between the group of teens became awkward and no one dared to say a word or too look at each other in the eye. Yoojin bit her lip, it felt like 6Mix and Got7 wanted to reach out to Sara once again and Sara was willing to reach her own hands out. Yoojin wasn’t jealous at that, but she didn’t know why she felt upset.

“Let’s go?” Sara pointed at the door.

Sara called Youngjae a few minutes before she came. Yoojin saw Youngjae almost screamed seeing a familiar number on his phone before he answered it like nothing.

She called him to say that she hired a transport for them and also a driver. Cecilia had to take the phone away from Youngjae to tell her that they didn’t need it – everyone knows that they do because only Nayeon was smart enough to bring her own car and all of the Tuan’s drivers were ordered to enjoy the holiday with their family. Cecilia scoffed and hanged up, telling Sara to do whatever she wants.

Yoojin saw in the corner of her eyes Sara reached out to grab Cecilia’s smaller bag but Cecilia snatched it away from her, telling her firmly that she didn’t need help that she didn’t want help. Yoojin was left to wander why Cecilia seem to really hate Sara.

“How are we split?” JB asked Sara when everyone was now outside, getting ready to go into their assigned cars. Nayeon had already loaded her stuff into her car, Jeongyeon and Jr followed her. So the three of them had their transport ready, they entered the car and waited for the others.

“Since both are 7 seated… it meant that everyone will have a place” Sara gazed over at Nayeon’s car, counting the members in her head. Sara disappeared to the drivers, asking them to step out and help the teenagers to load their bags into the car.

“Noona…” Yugyeom tapped Yoojin’s shoulder who was waiting for the driver to help put the luggage into the car. Yoojin hummed, acknowledging his presence. The younger took the bags of her and put it inside himself.

 “Can I be with yo-”

“Sorry. She’s my girlfriend” Jackson came from the other side of the car, pulling Yoojin towards him who rolled her eyes. Jackson took out Yoojin’s bags of the car and replaced it next to his bags, smirking at the maknae. “But noona likes me more” Yugyeom raised a brow at his hyung who raised his own and the younger back down and gave up.

“You like me better, right babe?” Jackson squatted down to Yoojin’s eye level, even if the difference wasn’t that big in terms of height, but he does it anyways because it made him feel taller.

A hand came out of nowhere and stomped on Yugyeom and Jackson’s foot. Yoojin didn’t need to look at who it was, she was sure it was Mark and she was right.

“Babe? Girlfriend?” Mark leaned forward at Jackson, his voice low, “Aish!” he raised a hand wanting to smack Jackson who flinched.

“I was just kidding! Hahahaha” Jackson let out a fake laugh out of nervousness and looked over to Yugyeom who was already backing away, ignoring the S.O.S that Jackson was trying to send over to him. “Youngjae!” Youngjae opened the door to the other car, getting ready to go inside. He glanced behind his shoulder seeing Jackson wave sweetly at him, “save me a spot next to you, okay babe?

Youngjae almost gagged but realised that he was just being used to get out of trouble. Of course, Jackson always gets in trouble. Youngjae took off the hat on his head and threw it at the back seat of the car which hit Jisoo square on the nose who was already half-asleep.

“I call everyone babe” Jackson told Mark, “No hard feelings right Yien?” He dared to pat the taller one’s chest which he then retrieved when it made the other madder than he already was. Jackson scrambled away before Mark could rip him into pieces.

Yoojin sat at the very back of the car that her bag was loaded in. Nayeon handed her a bag that was filled with snacks so the group she was going to be with could eat on the way throughout the long journey, in case they won’t come at a rest stop.

Mark grinned at her, pushing past the seats and plopped next to her. Taking off his backpack and placed it on the other side of him, then sat in the middle.

“Let’s have this row to ourselves” He sighed, placing his snapback on his face. Since it was still about 8 in the morning, everyone still needed to sleep off the other hours that’s need to fill. Even Yoojin was tired especially since she was the one that made sure everything they needed was there and everything was planned, she even planned what should be done in case an emergency happened.

Jackson came and took Mark’s bag and placed it in the row in front of them, Mark woke up and stood from his seat to get it back and Jackson used this chance to sit next to Yoojin who sighed knowing what will happen next. They were pretty much like cats and dogs- Mark and Jackson, they fought whenever they had the chance, they argued and yell, if strangers saw them they would think they were complete arch enemies.

Yoojin gave up, not liking their loud shouts and orders at each other. She knew Jackson wasn’t going to move to another car, she knew Mark wouldn’t as well so she decided to sit in the middle of both of them, that way she can be the border that separate the two and she can hit them when they fight once again.

“Do you really like being the third-wheeler that much?” Mark growled at Jackson as he fixed his backpack on his lap.

Jackson snorted at his remark, “you wish. You’re the third-wheel here” He grabbed Yoojin’s hands, waving it to Mark’s face, Yoojin was too tired to snatch it away, ”she’s mine” Mark hissed at him, promising to pull each and every limb in Jackson’s body.

JB sat in front of the same car, Sara, Bambam and Cecilia sat in the other row. Other members were left to go to the other car; Yoojin was slightly envious because the other two cars weren’t as full as the car she was on. She wanted to get off and move but Mark pulled her done and shoved earphones up in her ear, telling her that the rowdiness will make her warm.

The driver that drove them was nice. He seemed to know Bambam and Mark pretty well and continued to make small conversations with them here and there. Jackson, of course, felt lonely with the lack of attention he was receiving so he tried annoying Yoojin but she only nodded or shook her head with every little thing that he said so he gave up on that.

Cecilia growled lowly after hearing Sara’s high-pitch laugher, like Mark she didn’t like the idea of Sara tugging along but she couldn’t do anything about it and kicked the seat in front of her, not caring if her shoe left a mark. JB turned around to look at her, being the victim of her kick but she arched a brow at him.

Yoojin saw JB continued to watch Cecilia through the rear-mirror, Yoojin did the same thing. Bambam offered a blanket to Sara with Cecilia eyeing him with an obvious tight fist. Cecilia felt their stare so she pretended to fall asleep, turning her body to lean against the side of the door, not forgetting to ‘accidently’ hit Bambam’s chin with her elbow.

The ride became quiet when Yoojin, Cecilia and Jackson fell asleep. JB, being the kind leader he was, told Mark, Bambam and Sara to sleep as well, telling them that it would be the best way to kill off time.

Sara whispered something to Bambam and he snorted and she cracked up laughing. Mark was, without a fail, on his phone, playing games while silently jamming to the game music. The three couldn’t sleep so they did other stuff to keep them awake. Mark played games alone and Bambam and Sara talked to each other, JB just looked over the scenery through the windows even though it was fogging up.

Mark saw in the corner of his eyes , Bambam was trying to lead Yoojin’s head onto a comfortable position, placing it on Jackson’s empty shoulders then fixed her hair, pushing it away from her face. Bambam noticed Mark’s stare but pretended not to see it and faced the front.

The cars made their way to the rest area, where the group of friends went out of the car to eat ad do their toilet business. Yoojin breathe in the fresh winter air, suddenly missing it so much after being stuck in a dry aired car for nearly 3 hours. Jr stood beside her, waiting for the others to get out. His eyes were still trying to get used to the light. He felt like a vampire, he tried to hide away from the sun like it was burning him. Jukyung sighed out loud, stretching until Nayeon tickled her armpit, the two of them laughed. Everyone came out of the car and made their way to the food court, groggy, tired and groaned every now and then – like a group of zombies.

“On a diet?” JB joked, nodding his head at the packet of warm walnut cookies in Jukyung’s hands, she came with Yugyeom and Jisoo from the row of snack stalls at the front of the actual food court.  Jukyung swore at him, “It’s called an entrée before the main”

“Whatever” JB smirked. Eyeing Yugyeom who eyed him back, then the two nodded at each and walked together to the cake section to fill their sugary needs.

Bambam craned his neck and took a cookie in his mouth, Jukyung was about to tell him off but he held his hand up, “I ordered you food. Pasta. Pizza” Jukyung smiled brightly, letting him take as much cookie as he wanted from her paper bag.

“Meat lovers” Bambam added, placing another one in his mouth. Jukyung laughed when his cheeks became so filled from food making him look like a cute hamster. She sat down in front of him, nodding her head slowly, “of course. You know me well kiddo”

They ordered what they wanted and ate eat deliciously, talking about the plans that they’ll do over the 3 days and 4 nights they have at the beach house. It was in the middle of winter and some thought they were crazy because they were going to the beach at such a cold weather but it was something that all wanted to try, well it was something that Yoojin know she really wanted to try. She had never been by the beach before, she had never been on a small holiday with a group of friends, she never actually been on a trip before in her whole life.

New memories, accomplished goals were somethings that Yoojin had been receiving ever since she moved to the Tuan’s. No matter how selfish it sounded, Yoojin definitely wants to receive more.

“Yoojin” Jackson called. Yoojin looked up from her bowl of noodles, slurping up the ones that hanged from . “Your head is really heavy” Jackson rolled his shoulders, making a face at her, it made her laugh due to embarrassment.

She woke up, not because they were there but because Jackson was groaning so much. He was aching because of the weight of Yoojin’s head, she couldn’t help but to think that the boy was a lot weaker than he looks.

“But it’s okay because we got to spend 3 hours leaning on each other. I told you we’re together. It’s like we’re two magnets that can’t help but to be attracted to each other, sticking together like glue making it impossible for a separation” Jackson winked at Yoojin before looking to his right. Mark was cutting up his meat in a very loud manner.

“You’re pretty weak you know” Bambam commented, butting into the conversation, “I mean, Yoojin leant on me heaps of times before, it’s not bad, the weight I mean”

“You woke up because of the weight Jackson, then you woke me up because of the whines you were making” Yoojin clucked her tongue, still not really liking the fact that he ruined her sleep. She had a really good dream that time.

A dream about a guy and a girl but she couldn’t recognise their face, they were holding hands then a kid came running towards them. It was like a happy family, small but happy. Yoojin didn’t know the meaning of the dream or why she had it, but all she knew that it made her feel warm. It was cut, like said before, by Jackson - she was woken up.

“Hey, don’t blame me alright. Yeah I woke you up because I was complaining and stuff but it wasn’t because of you.  Some rude monster decided to ruin the moment and hit me on the head with a portable speaker. You know the beats thingy” Jackson showed the others what the speaker looked like and everyone knew who the owner of the speaker was. Only one person carried it around with him everywhere he goes and that person was busily ‘eating’, well until he couldn’t handle the stares.

“Jackson wouldn’t wake up and I desperately needed to pee”

“Excuses Yien, excuses” Jisoo tutted, shaking her head in disbelief.

Jackson decided that Mark would most likely kill him in his sleep after making those comments about Yoojin and him being together and for calling Mark a monster, which he honestly was, so he decided to join the others in Nayeon’s car, wanting to live longer. He was too young to die, or ‘too beautiful and way too y to die at such age’ as Jackson stated when Nayeon asked him as to why he moved.

Yoojin used her bag as a separation between Mark and her then leaned on the side of the car, putting a hoodie over her head and picked where she left off. Mark was sulking for a while, because no matter how much he tried to wake her up she wouldn’t. He even took off his shoes and placed it over Yoojin’s nose but it only made her hit him, Mark didn’t know it was deliberate meaning she was awake or an instinct because she was asleep. He gave up in the end, finally accepting that she was really in deep sleep.

Little bangs could be heard as Yoojin’s head hit the side of the car continuously after going over a bumpy freeway. The driver hissed, cursing, whispering under his breath that the government should really do something about the road. It was rocky, uneven and it was dangerous for car tires and especially for Yoojin’s forehead that sounded like it would crack if someone didn’t do anything about it bumping on the car, or maybe it would be the other way, who knows.

Mark leaned over her bag, stuffing his ear phones out of his ears and placed it on Yoojin’s. Mark knows it helps her sleep better. He did feel kind of guilty letting Yoojin manage the whole holiday, cooking food for the group to eat thinking ahead, knowing that everyone’s energy would be drained after the long journey. She did all of those things alone, her sleepiness made sense. He placed a hand between her forehead and car, Yoojin hummed softly; her brows that unknowingly furrowed due to the pain disappeared.

Mark stayed in that position, leaning above her, his hands protecting her to not let her feel pain, seeing her face up close that it made his breath hitch – he just wanted time to stop.

Cecilia looked behind her, snorting when she could see Mark’s dreamy expression from her angle. It made him snap back into reality, cheeks flushed softly. It was a new sight for Cecilia, seeing her friend look so happy that it made him daze while staring at the girl he really liked. Cecilia couldn’t help but to smile.

Mark rolled his eyes after seeing Cecilia’s eyebrow wiggle at him, he wanted to do the same thing that he did to Jackson; throw a speaker at her. Mark tore his hands off Yoojin’s head so he could place her head onto his shoulder. He kicked her bag off the seat, mentally reminding himself to pick it up before she wakes up or else he would get hit, and then went into a comfortable position, putting his snapback on top of his face after wrapping a protective arm around Yoojin.

JB was watching everything, he inspected things a whole lot more than what people thought, that’s why he knew s well, like a mind reader or somewhat.

He saw the look of envy in Bambam’s eyes, the envy that was so clear that anyone could see it. Sara was asleep, a neck-pillow supported her head and even while she slept, Cecilia gave her short glares before rolled her eyes. Cecilia’s eyes begged of attention, it screamed of other’s consideration, courtesy. An attention from who exactly? Why?

Bambam was about to turn back, to see what was happening at the back row, knowing everything that had happened already Cecilia grabbed his arm, muttering a ‘don’t’. Her grip was tight, alerted and Cecilia didn’t want to let go but Bambam was the one who broke it. He tore his wrist away as kindly as he could. Afterwards, he wrapped his arm around himself then slumped back into his seat. Cecilia lowered her eyes. JB understood then, he understood the look in Cecilia’s eyes, he knew who she was begging and why she was begging.

‘It’s more twisted than I thought’

The leader slumped back into his seat, facing the front. The road was getting more and more crowded now, people were awake, some probably on their way to lunch or to work. The sun was hidden from angry grey clouds. It was about to rain. JB scoffed, how can the weather fit so perfectly with the situation?

‘After sleep’ he told himself, feeling his eyelids go heavy, he’ll figure it out after sleep.
