♥~Chapter Forty-Seven~♥

His Personal Maid

the amount of swear this chapter have oh my god. Forgive me;;

Bambam had told his friends everything once Mark let go of his collar and let him breathe  (all thanks to Jinyoung) . They listened carefully like what they always do when it comes to a serious note, which isn’t very usual, but a friend was in trouble so they weren’t joking around.

Mark almost fell to feet when he heard what was happening, then almost lost his whole soul when Bambam told him their plan –the plan to break them apart. Bambam got scolded by his leader when he told them, but he didn’t argue and apologised even if a sorry wouldn’t do anything. The plan didn’t go to plan, but it made Sara go crazy, like she suddenly clicked onto this beast mode where she feels like she could do anything to break them apart, and she will.

Then at last, Bambam told Mark what happened at the beach. He knows it wasn’t his right to say it, but he talked about Sara’s illness. Yugyeom couldn’t help himself but to comment about how naïve Yoojin was. Sure the girl was a total sweetheart and always caring, but that was honestly the bad thing about Yoojin. She’ll put people before hers, but didn’t think about how it made Mark feel.

Mark didn’t say anything the whole time, he only gripped the canned drink that Youngjae bought him earlier till it was crushed and the juices spilled onto his uniform. Cecilia broke his gripped away and his male friends told him to clean up in the toilet.

JB the water and placed the towel that he had saved for gym class later on the day, under it. Mark was leaning onto the sink, his eyes on his shoes. Bambam watched from a far, feeling so scared to approach Mark.

“Why didn’t you tell us earlier Bambam?” Jr was lecturing him quietly. The younger boy lowered his eyes and leaned back onto the wall. He didn’t know, he really didn’t know why he didn’t spoke up sooner, but then he thought about Yoojin. He thought it would’ve been best if it came from her, but she would never speak up anyway, yet he still waited for her to do so. How can he be so stupid.

“I don’t know. I’m so sorry. I’m so damn sorry” Bambam was on the ground now, his head in his hands. The girls were out looking for Yoojin. He begged that nothing bad happened to her, but inside he knew that it would be most unlikely to happen.

If she was hurt once again, he doesn’t know how he could forgive himself. He knows she was getting bullied and she told him not to worry about it. They both know they needed help… if only Bambam was brave enough to take the matter into his own hands she wouldn’t have to suffer as much, maybe not at all. But Bambam was too cowardly and as a friend of hers, he was disappointed at himself.

“Leave it” Mark growled. Jr saw the towel that JB had under the running water skid onto the ground near his foot. Bambam saw that too and looked round the wall to see Mark’s jaw clenched and JB was trying to find his patience that he really needed at that moment.

“Mark…” Jr walked to his friends, wanting to loss the tension.

Mark shook his head and turned around, “it’s no point anyway. It’s gonna stain whether we like it or not”

He heard his friend’s footstep following him out of the toilet. He saw Bambam curled up to the corner and the smaller on out of the two stood up, looking like he was about to apologise but Mark spoke up first.

“Leave me alone guys. Please” He left the restroom after he heard his friends stopped in his tracks, his favour fulfilled.

Yoojin was in a hurry to get her stuff together and race to go to class since the bell rang just a few seconds ago indicating the end of break. Seohee stood up from her seat, tutting her tongue disapprovingly.

“Why are you so boring Yoojin-ah?” she faked a pout, “you’re just pretty much doing everything that we’re telling you to do”

‘Wasn’t that what I supposed to do?’

But Yoojin didn’t say anything and waited until everyone leaves first. Sara walked inside the class, a hand grasped tightly around her phone. She paced heavily to where Yoojin was, jabbing everyone that was on her way with her elbow. Haneul tried to grab her arm to hold her back and ask what was wrong but she just ended up on the ground, fallen on her bottom.

“Did you do this? Did… did you do this?” Sara was shouting disjointed words and Yoojin could only catch a few, but didn’t understand anything.

Sara’s eyes gleamed with tears and Yoojin saw that everyone was looking at them. Haneul was back on her feet, cursing Sara under her breath, her words like viper but it trailed off when Sara brought the back of her hand to wiped her cheeks angrily.

Sara was crying. Whether it was due to sadness, irritation, or whatever, the girl pretended that the tears never appeared. Yoojin was left tongue-tied watching the girl as she tried to take deep breaths.

“Sara… let’s go. Come on” Haneul was the only brave one to approach the still shaking girl but Sara shook her head furiously.

Sara held out her phone, it was shaking –Yoojin was unsure if it was on purpose or not. “She ruined everything Haneul. You ruined everything Yoojin…” Sara was saying words that no one could understand once again. Haneul arched her brow at Yoojin, but Yoojin shook her head. She had no idea what the girl was talking about, but no one believed her.

“Sara, what are you—”

“–they ended it! The engagement, the Tuans killed it off” Sara immediately grabbed Yoojin by her hair. Her friends woke up from their daze and were now beside Sara.

“How did you do it? Money? Where did you get the money?” Sara pulled harder making the victim shrill with pain. “What did you do Yoojin? Answer me god dammit!”

Yoojin winced when Sara tugged harder, “whatever I’ll say you won’t believe me anyway so what’s the point”

“ing answer me. Now” Sara threw her to the ground. The tables and a few chairs tumbled over against her weight.

Yoojin couldn’t help but to glare, “I don’t know Sara. I don’t ing know”

Sara yelled something in a language that Yoojin knows wasn’t Korean then threw her phone to the nearest wall. The crack of the mobile was loud and clear, in no way did it survive. Sara kept on throwing a tantrum and no one could do anything to stop her. In the end Sara kicked a table and it swayed going towards Yoojin’s direction. She mustered up all of her power to somehow avoid it and push it off. Seohee and some girl kept the table upright –they’re bullies, not murderers.

“How could you Yoojin?” Sara whispered, her voice dripped with sadness and betrayal, “you know how much this means to me”

Yoojin held her chest when her heartstrings were pulled, Sara never looked so… weak before. “Trust me Sara, for heavens I swear that it wasn’t me” But they weren’t listening. Everyone had their back turned towards her, leading the shaking Sara out of the door.

Yoojin took out her phone that was on her pocket, to look at the time. The time flew so past to the point there was no more point of going to class that period. She was left with shock when she saw the number of missed calls from Yugyeom and all the text messages that asked where she was and if she was fine.

“I’m fine Yug. I just left my phone on silent, you know, ‘cause I was at the library and all” She replied to him, knowing that if she doesn’t say anything the poor kid will attack her phone once again, blowing his limit.

As she turned to a corner to go upstairs to her room, she had already decided to plan what she was about to say: she hurt herself and went to the nurse, but then forgot that the nurse wasn’t there (since it was Thursday after break) she had to go back but needed to go toilet. In the end, her sickness was only unsteady bowel movements.

“Library my ” was all she heard while she climbed up the flight of stairs to the 2nd years classes. She looked down the stairs and saw Yugyeom looking up at her from the bottom stairs. His face showed disappointment and somehow… relief?

“Hey kiddo” Yoojin greeted, trying to sound as casual as she could. Because Sara pulled her head to much, she could tell that her hair looked absolute crap with strands fallen, and her uniform were probably crinkly… she just looks like a complete mess and she was hoping that Yugyeom would look pass it.

Yugyeom climbed up to where she was, going down a few flights behind to be face-to-face with her, for a young teen, he sure is tall. He looked at her up and down, and Yoojin couldn’t help but to gulp. Then to her surprise, he placed his phone to his ear and say; “I found her. You were right Youngjae…”

Earlier when Youngjae was looking all over the school for her, he went to the abandon areas just in case there was something, he was a witness of Sara walking away, tears running down her face while other girl students followed behind, muttering encouraging words.

He had a hunch that it had something to do with Yoojin but before he could go and check, one of the hall monitor shooed him away and told him to go to class, leaving him no point but to do so.

“are you okay?” Yugyeom asked her once he shut his phone off and put it away. Yoojin was about to answer but Yugyeom answered for her like he knew better, “of course you’re not. God” He asked the question, he answered it himself, how funny. But it was no joking matter when Yugyeom looked so serious that it scared her.

He brushed off the dust and webs that Yoojin had no idea how it got on her, then he fixed her hair, clucking his tongue whenever a strand would end up on his hand.

“God…” he repeated again now as a whisper sounding like a plead –a prayer

Yoojin narrowed her eyes at the younger boy, he was acting like he… knew, like he knows everything, all the things she tried to hide has been exposed, all the things she’s been keeping to herself has now been shared with him. She felt .

Yoojin held his hands to stop him from touching her, it was no use fixing her up when she’ll still look like crap. “Yugyeom, what’s wrong?”

He looked up at her like he wanted to say so many things, like he needed to get something off his chest. But he lowered his eyes, stepped back and shook his head.

They all decided that they’ll give Yoojin a chance to explain herself like what she did when she told them she was a maid. They all decided not to say anything and give them distance if they needed it. They all decided to let Mark handle everything, like how he wanted it, even if they were all scared of what he’ll do/say.

“Go to class noona. I need to head inside as well” he whispered softly and then without turning back, he headed to his own class.

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

The moment Yoojin and Mark saw each other at home, the whole Tuans’ residence were filled with shouts and angry poundings on the counter. The tension was so raised that no one, not even Sehun could in the argument to stop the two from ripping each other’s heads off.

Mark pulled her arm and they were face-to-face, “do you really hate me?” Yoojin punched his chest, begging to let go of her because he was gripping to tight but anger had taken over him to notice, “do you really don’t trust me?”

They were fighting, just like what Yoojin believed would happen once Mark knows everything, once Mark realised what happened during winter break. She found out that everyone knows, that all of her friends know every single thing so she couldn’t hide anymore, she couldn’t lie because there was no point.

She was supposed to be mad at Bambam, she was supposed to feel betrayed, but why, why does she feel so relieved to know that it was out? Why does she feel so happy that she didn’t have to swallow up her anxiety and pretend to be fine in front of friends? It was all thanks to Bambam that they know, call her selfish and ignorant, but she was glad that it wasn’t her. Yoojin seriously hate herself for being such a wimp in front of her friends.

“I just didn’t want you to be worried Mark” it was all she could managed out through her gritted teeth. Mark finally realised that he was hurting her so he lightened his gripped, but still held her close. He had a feeling that Yoojin would walk away from this argument and if she does, he doesn’t know what he’ll do so it was best to get it over and done with.

He almost laughed out loud after hearing her remark, “not worried? Well if that was what you were trying to achieve then you’re doing a pretty ty job because with you not telling anything its making me more worried than you not telling me” he looked at her and read her expression. He knows that she didn’t think about that, he knows that she didn’t even think about his feelings thoroughly, “of course, you wouldn’t know”

“A-A-anyway, Sara... You know about her illness”

“Don’t make excuses Yoojin. I know whatever Sara has is serious and it isnt something to joke about, I respect that and understand that, but it isnt your priority to take care of her like she’s your ing daughter okay” Mark took a deep breath.

Sara, of all the things, knew exactly what Yoojin’s weakness is. She was too kind to decline an offer, too dumb to think things outside the box, to dense to really understand what the whole situation’s problem is. Sometimes, sometimes, Mark would hope that she could think in an open mind matter. Sara knew how to control Yoojin, and know she was wrapped around her cheeky pinkie. That girl was cruel and evil.

“I didn’t want to harm anyone Mark. I really didn’t want to hurt any of you” Yoojin mumbled. Mark nodded slowly, sighing for the umpteenth time.

He let go of her wrist completely and looked away from it since he knows he would feel guilty if he saw he created marks on her delicate skin. But it wasn’t the marks that he was staring at, it was the bruises all around her body, bruises that he knew who was behind it.

“They’re bullying you”

“I didn’t want them to hurt you”

“Were not ing kids in case you didn’t check” Mark couldn’t help but to swear. Bubbles of fury building up once again, he can tell that Yoojin was trying her best to be patient as well.

She swallowed the lump forming, “no one attacked you anymore when I told Sara to stop”

“Again, were not ki—”

“—don’t be a Mark and listen to me” Yoojin snapped, “I just wanted what’s best for you, for all of you. You guys have done so much for me but what can I do for you? I can give you guys nothing but trouble. Everything that has ever happened, every bad thing that happened to each and every one of 6Mix and Got7 members, I was the cause of it so I want to make it right”

Yoojin took a deep breath, feeling tears stinging her eye, “for once I wanted to be the one that causes you guys to be at ease, for you guys to smile… to be happy”

“Do you not know how the I felt when the rumours went around? Did you not see the members avoiding me? it was all because they had a feeling that I started the rumours, because they told me those secrets beforehand and then boom, out of nowhere they were exposed”

She was poking his chest now, feeling tired and was getting scratchy and weak, “don’t you dare lie and say they weren’t suspecting me because I know they were Mark, I know you think the same too”

She said everything, all the things she had built inside of her, all of the grudges and thoughts she had at the back of her mind were let off, but she felt no better even if, what it felt like, 10 tonnes of angry and negative thoughts rose off her shoulders.

Mark didn’t say anything, he didn’t need to, he can’t anyway. Nothing he will say can make it better, nothing he can do to make it right. If he wasn’t careful he might just say the wrong words, if he didn’t think properly then he could mess up everything and Mark can’t control his body and mouth when he was mad. Mark ed up.

“And what about me? What about us? Or was there no us?” Mark lowered his stance to be the same level as Yoojin who was quiet, “there was never us wasn’t there?”

Mark kicked the stools that were left of him, Yoojin screamed and jumped away when they all landed on the ground with a great amount of force and speed. He hit the counter with his fist. He let out all of his anger on the counter; with every punch it had bits and pieces of his burning and hurting heart.

“Well isn’t this funny?” He let out a low chuckle that sent chills on Yoojin’s spine. She stood a good metre away, scared that he might do something to her. Mark left knowing that she was scared at him, that she couldn’t trust him. He wasn’t shock, not anymore.

“All those times I thought that you liked me too. All those times I thought that we had a thing. I confessed and you said you felt the same, but of course, how can I not think whether that was a lie or not, is that what they call being ‘blinded with love’? Well whatever that’s what I feel. I fell for a girl that only used me for money and popularity” he spatted out.

He didn’t know where the words were coming from but they just keep on coming out without him knowing, without him being the one in control.

“I didn’t use you fo –“

“—no wonder you only thought about yourself during the winter break. I mean, did you not see me? did you not see the absolute I became? I felt like crap and so unwanted because you wouldn’t even look at me. Did you not know that I was hurting too? Did you not realised that I even existed?” Mark turned his head towards Yoojin who flushed pink with guilt. So what Bambam said was right; she should have thought about Mark more clearer.

“Girls like you are what I hate the most. You’re no different from Sara Yoojin, you’re actually so ing worse” he gave out a chuckle, “was it fun? Playing with my feelings? How was the game you were conducting? Did it go to plan?”

“maybe you deserved the hits, maybe you deserved being bullied because you’re a selfish soul that cares about nothing but yourself, at least Sara had a heart, even if it may be small, you have none Yoojin. And you were right, my friends did thought it was you, they did think at some point that you weren’t what it seemed and you know what I did? I ing defended you because for god sake am I crazy about you” He huffed out loud, his chest hurting.

Why was he saying this? They weren’t even true, none of it was, but he needed to say it so he could look at the expression of her face. When Yoojin looked completely crest-fallen he knows he was doing a good job, but he couldn’t stop himself, Mark suddenly knew no self-control.

“You’re such a good deceiver Yoojin, you even fooled Bambam who ing trusted you just as much as I did, oh and also eleven other people who thought you were different”

Mark was walking towards Yoojin now who couldn’t take her eyes off him, who couldn’t open to speak, who couldn’t move out of her spot.

“That’s the thing with low class people. They’re so needy that everything around them doesn’t matter, that nothing else means anything just as long as they get what they need. I told you earlier didn’t I? People like you, the poor ones, are disgusting and are meant to be stepped on”

Yoojin tried her best to say something, to fight back and to snap him out of it. He was like what he was when she first met him, angry and rude. Is this what Bambam meant by the ‘jerk’? Because it definitely feel like it.

“Your mother is the same isn’t she? She thinks she can use my mum’s money to pay of her hospital bills and then live under our roofs. Does your family have no shame or did you leave your manners at that trash place you both used to live in, aka a cardboard box” Mark leaned in, whispering every word like pure venom, “like mother like daughter. Both of you don’t belong here”

Then it came, the slap.

Mark looked back at her shock, holding the place where she hit him with a loud chuckle. She glared at him breathlessly; tears were rolling down her cheeks. “you don’t talk about my mother like that you ing jerk!”

Mark grabbed her arms, angered with the fact that she hit him and then yelled and cursed at him. Yoojin tried her best to release his grip using her own muscle to fight him. They walked around the kitchen blindly; both want to win the battle.

They knocked down furniture and also knocked into them but they couldn’t feel the pain as much. In the end, Yoojin was cornered to the very end of the kitchen. Mark swallowed a breath while Yoojin was gasping for some as well. She had tried to fight to her very best but it wasn’t enough. Mark overpowered her.

They looked at each other in the eye. The Mark that she saw yesterday came back. He was looking at her up and down like it was his first time. He let go of her like she was some hot pan, then looked at her like he saw a ghost. But they still stood close together, forehead nearly touching.

Mark closed his eyes for a few moments and Yoojin watched him while he does so. She was calmer now, still letting out small hiccups here and there but the tears stopped flowing, but her heart still hurts. She wondered if she was the only one hurting. Yes Mark said all of those things but she had a feeling like he didn’t mean it or maybe she was just being delusional.

Then he opened his eyes and gathered up all of his courage to say it. He his lips, feeling it go dry then let out a shaky breath.

“Let’s just end this. Us. Everything. Lets break it off”

Though it hurt, Yoojin swallowed and looked away. She nodded after a few minutes of thinking. Her heart shattered into millions of pieces. She never knew a simple movement required so much energy to do. But she knew it was for the better.

Mark stepped back wordlessly then spun on his heels and headed out the door. Yoojin felt so cold afterwards. She slid down the floor, flinching when she heard Mark slam the door after him. She hugged herself wanting to warm her body but it was no use.

They were finished.
