“Why did you agree to work for EXO? You know you have a lot of opportunities in America where you can be more famous and earn more money, so why work for SMent?” Chanyeol asked, struggling on his English pronunciations. “I worked for this company because it was a friend’s request. She’s not just a fan of yours but she’s also a hardworking girl, aiming to have me as her composer someday. This trains me for that day, where I can make songs for her. She is my best friend after all,” Milan answered truthfully. “Is she a trainee here?” He asked. She pursed her lips. “I don’t want to answer that. I prefer not to tell what company she’ll be working with but I assure you, she’s going to top the charts,” Milan smiled at him.

“Tell us the truth. You know how to speak Korean, don’t you?” Lay said as he looked into Milan’s eyes. She took a deep breath and said,” Lay-oppa, I can only speak a bit but I have not perfected the language. But I understand what you talk about during meetings and your songs; I understand them perfectly, with some of my teacher’s help.” “So you lied to the others, why is that? Why do you want them to speak in English?” Lay narrowed his eyes as he asked in Korean. “All I want them is to…” Milan didn’t know how to say it in Korean and she was having troubles with it. “I don’t have to explain myself. This is for the growth of EXO after all,” she then said in Korean.

“But I’m happy you’re able to speak in this language though. It’s hard speaking in English,” Chanyeol said as he sighed in relief. “Like we say in the Philippines, it makes you have a nosebleed huh. Because, for you, speaking in English is just plain difficult,” Milan said before chuckling. “You know, APL, you have a great smile. You should keep smiling,” Lay said before smiling at her. “Um, no I don’t have a great smile. Like my teeth aren’t equal and aren’t perfectly white and then I look goofy,” Milan reasoned. “It’s just such a waste. For a beautiful face like yours, to only frown at people,” Chanyeol said without any hesitation.

“Sheesh, could you stop saying those lies? My face? Beautiful? Ha, as if that will ever happen,” Milan sighed. “But thanks for saying that. It boosted up my self-esteem a bit. But I won’t let you guys go easy if you fail even if you said those sweet words. Got it?” “We know,” Lay and Chanyeol said in unison. “Anyways, want to let the other guys hear the song? Since I’m not much of a dancer, Kai-oppa and the others can help with the choreography if they like it,” Milan said before standing up.

“Don’t bother, I’ll call them myself,” Chanyeol said before standing up and speeding off. After a couple of minutes, all of the members are in the practice room. “You made a song already?!” Suho’s eyes widened. Lay, Chanyeol and Milan nodded with a poker face. “Chanyeol-oppa, play the song on your guitar. I’ll duet with Lay-oppa,” Milan said, giving the copy of the chords to Chanyeol. “You took so long so I decided to make an acoustic version of it too,” Milan shrugged when Chanyeol stared at her.

“Okay, 1, 2, 3,” Lay pointed at Chanyeol and he started playing. It was a relaxing yet sad tune, the members pointed out. Lay started with the first verse having the members listen to him carefully.

After a few minutes, the song was finished. “Isn’t it such a sad song?” Sehun commented. Milan nodded slowly as if she very well knew the feeling of the narrator in the song. “Naneun geugeos-i eotteon neukkim-inji al-ayo (I know how it feels). Love isn’t always happy right? One tends to cheat but the other still loves that person. But you have to learn to let go. You have to or else, you will only get hurt again and again,” she said with a sad voice. “Well, that’s how I planned the song to be like. I want this song to have those perfect lovers open their eyes,” Milan went back to her usual expression. Such a cold expression that Lay and Chanyeol think they’re happy to see her smile.

“Anyways, I decided to have Baek-oppa and Kai-oppa to sing the version we just sang and you can put in some ad-lib if you want. Lay-oppa and Xiumin-oppa will sing the Mandarin version which might be done after a few hours if you don’t disturb me by the terrace,” Milan explained. “Why those members and not the usual vocal line, you may ask. Simple, I want them to shine since they don’t usually do. And my sister likes listening to Xiumin-oppa’s voice. Baek-oppa is the only one from the vocal line because senpai keeps pestering on my first song for EXO to have Baek-oppa as one of the vocals,” she added.

She then walked towards the nearest wall then slid her back on it so she could sit back. “Finally done for the first song,” she muttered in Mandarin so only a few would understand her. “You could try talking to them in Korean, you know. So they can understand you better,” Chanyeol said when he approached Milan. “Machi (As if),” she looked away. “It’s better if you and Lay-oppa are the only people who know I speak Korean,” she added. Chanyeol wanted everyone to understand and trust this girl now. He needs to convince Milan. “Noonaaaa, juseyooo~ (please)” Chanyeol said as he bumped his side with Milan’s. “Oppa, don’t be childish,” she frowned. “Come on~ Everyone wants to get to know you and this is the first day of meeting you~ Let us know you more, APL,” Chanyeol said as he kept on bumping Milan.

“What’s with them?” Sehun narrowed his eyes on what was happening. “Chanyeol is a fast one, he’s already flirting with our composer,” Xiumin said as he smiled. “What if they dated?” Kai said with such shock in his voice. “They can’t,” Suho strictly said. “And this is just the first day of meeting the girl. It’s impossible to love at first sight,” he added, as the guardian of the group. “Who do you think she might like at the end? Is it Lay-hyung or Chanyeol? Find out in a few months!” Baekhyun joked, pretending to be a newscaster.  “I put my bet on Chanyeol-hyung,” Kai said. “That would be about 10 000 won then,” Chen replied, making them all laugh.

“Sheesh. Joh-ayo (alright). I’ll talk to them in Korean only because you are so annoying,” Milan glared at Chanyeol. “Naneun algoissda (I know),” he chimed. She then stood up and clasped her hands to call everyone’s attention. Chanyeol was just smiling from ear to ear in the background. “Modudeul, deul-eo (everyone, listen). Because oppa managed to umm… convince me to speak the language so you can understand me better and I hope work will be done faster, I’ll speak Korean. No misunderstandings or anything and I completely understood what you just said, Baek-oppa,” Milan glared at the older member.
