Perfect Wife

The New Composer

The next day, Milan thought the boys already left since the dorm was quiet and well, it was already getting late. She didn’t have classes that day and decided to cook something up for herself. “Ah, home cooked meals. I miss when mommy used to do this,” Milan paused for a moment while cooking. “I miss my family actually but I shouldn’t become depressed because of it! Mr Lee said we’ll be going to the Philippines soon because of EXO Invasion III,” she said as she continued cooking.

After a few minutes, her dish was done and so she ate in the dining room. But on cue, KyungSoo went out of the room, still drowsy but awake. “Mil-ah?” He called out. Milan’s expression then became darker as she lifted her head. “Sorry for using the kitchen—OH WAIT. Are the others here?” Milan narrowed her eyes. KyungSoo drowsily nodded.

Milan would’ve thought that KyungSoo was cute and might’ve have a heart attack because he was too cute with bed hair and that drowsy expression on his face but when she discovered the boys were here, she nearly panicked. “What were you cooking?” He asked.

“A-Ah, nothing,” she said. “Just something that can take my mind off what happened yesterday,” she said. “Can I taste?” He asked when he sat across Milan. She just couldn’t say no and pushed the bowl towards him. He lifted the spoon to his mouth and smelled it before putting it in his mouth. “It’s pretty hot,” he stuck his tongue out. “Of course, I just cooked it,” she smiled a bit.

“But it’s good. What do you call it?” KyungSoo asked. “Arroz Caldo, it’s something we eat during cold days. I guess seeing Koreans eat mostly noodles, you haven’t tried much rice soup. It’s a Chinese congee that adapted into Spanish taste buds and it’s fairly popular in my country’s provinces,” Milan smiled a bit. “It was something simple my mommy thought me,” she said, being sentimental.

“Food? KyungSoo’s already cooking?” Chanyeol said, followed by the other members. They all had bed hair. It was pretty obvious they just got up. Milan wasn’t an exception to thinking Chanyeol’s morning voice was kinda y. “No,” KyungSoo shook his head. Kai sped towards KyungSoo’s side. “What’s that?” he asked.

“Arroz Caldo. Oh yeah, you guys might have difficulty pronouncing that. Spanish rice soup, let’s call it that since the origin of the name is Spanish,” Milan said. “So you cooked this?” Luhan smiled. Milan shyly nodded. “I needed something warm,” she said. “Oh wait—Kai, put on a shirt, KyungSoo, put on some pants,” Suho said. The two looked at each other and their eyes widened at the realization.

They sped out of the room and left Milan dumbfounded. How can she not notice Kai shirtless? Oh, that mental image won’t escape her mind now. “Mianhe. They tend to you know,” Xiumin sat on where KyungSoo used to sit. Milan didn’t snap out of her daze. Fangirls could kill to see those boys like that and she’s just there regretting what she saw. Even if it was Kai, her innocence was still there. Now, it shattered into tiny bits.

What’s next? I’ll see someone kiss in front of me?

Yes, Milan was that innocent. She did have boyfriends before but she was too innocent to even hug those boys. “This is actually good,” Xiumin remarked once he tasted the food. “Kai will like this. It has chicken,” he added, laughing softly. The remaining boys went near Xiumin and one by one they tasted the dish until there were only bones left.

Milan frowned at what happened. She was still hungry. “I didn’t know you could cook,” Lay said. “You should help out sometimes,” Chen said. “You tell me to help out after eating my food. To hell with you boys,” she said as she glared at them. “A-Ah, mianhe, mianhe,” Tao reacted while bowing.

“I could help you cook more if you want. That Spanish rice soup could be our breakfast,” Chanyeol offered. Milan nodded slowly, as if she was hesitating. She stood up and told him what he should do. Milan was still wearing the apron which stole Chanyeol’s eye. It was KyungSoo’s apron but it fits her perfectly. She had her hair tied up in a messy bun.

She looks like someone’s wife than a little sister and she wasn’t wearing her glasses like usual.

“What’re you looking at?” Milan hissed. “Get back to work,” she told him. Chanyeol nodded and tried to concentrate on his work but his imagination went wild, thinking if Milan were his girlfriend. But it was all a dream sadly. “You can sit down now. I can handle this myself,” Milan said as she mixed the rice, chicken and other ingredients together.

Chanyeol sat down and watched her carefully. “Won’t she be the perfect girlfriend when the time comes?” Chanyeol was shocked to hear Luhan whisper. “Oh, hyung… I guess so,” Chanyeol said, looking back at Milan. “If only she was gentler, I would’ve started liking her,” Luhan smiled. The thought of Luhan being Chanyeol’s rival entered his mind. If Luhan started liking Milan, he thinks he doesn’t have a chance.

There’s a reason why Luhan was EXO’s little prince.

Luhan was pretty, sure, sometimes in a feminine way. Everyone thinks that except for himself. Luhan was handsome and cool sometimes too. He knows how to handle girls pretty well, better than Chanyeol anyway. This took Chanyeol to a disadvantage. And he hated it.

“There,” Milan turned the stove off and turned to the two boys. “Oh, Luhan-oppa, I didn’t notice your presence,” Milan reacted. She suddenly lost some of her cool and put on such a goofy smile that made Chanyeol feel a pang on his chest. “You didn’t? Are you getting deaf?” Luhan joked. “I’m just kidding, Mil-ah. You want to put that on the table?” Luhan offered.

“I can do that myself,” Milan said, putting on the gloves but the pot didn’t lift even just a bit. “Food for thirteen people is heavy,” she muttered. “Let me do that,” Luhan said as he stood up and wrapped his arms around Milan’s waist. “Come on,” he teased, whispering into her ear which made her flinch. “Oppa, okay, okay. Just get off of me,” she said as she slipped off the gloves and gave them to Luhan. “Good. I never thought you were obedient enough,” he smiled teasingly.

“Have it rough huh?” Baekhyun said when he entered the room. Luckily, only Chanyeol heard him. “Tell me about it,” he muttered. “EXO is seldom awkward with girls now with all the fansigning. And Luhan-hyung knows how to handle the girls,” Baekhyun said. “Why does it have to be my girl though?” That made Baekhyun laugh. “You’re owning her already huh. Dude, don’t call her your girl if it’s only in your dreams,” he said.
