Swimming

Suit Romance

Sohyun yawned and slammed the alarm clock, switching it off.
She struggled to sit up straight, and rubbed her eyes groggily. "Time to work.." Sohyun whispered, and slowly giggled at the thought of it. She wondered where she would be going after work. Going on a food hunt? She wished.

She sat down on the chair facing Kris, eating her breakfast while working on the laptop. She didn't finish the document last night, and actually fell asleep after fifteen minutes..

Kris sat opposite her, crossing his legs and ate his breakfast. "You didn't finish the report I told you, did you?"

Sohyun nodded her head and concentrated while he sighed and stood up. "Let's go. We need reach there by ten."

Sohyun closed her laptop and carried her bag with her, following Kris into the taxi.

Fortunately for Sohyun, the clients knew how to speak English, and Sohyun was able to communicate with them easily. And so, their deal was easily done. Kris walked out with Sohyun placing her bag in front of her.

Hah, Sohyun didn't know it would take such a short time to just close a deal. If only everyday in here was just this simple.

He glanced at his watch and smiled. "It's still early. Let's go somewhere to eat." He dragged Sohyun into the taxi while Sohyun stumbled in. "What? We're not going to eat in the hotel? Then where are we going?" Kris glanced at his watch again and tapped the screen. "Now it's 4.30pm. We'll take about an hour to eat, and when we reach the hotel it'll be around 7.30pm to 8pm. It's alright." Well apparently Kris had actually planned it all out, while Sohyun's eyes widened in shock. "It's really far from here to the hotel. Are you sure you want to go there? And what's so nice there?"

"Many. Noodles, soup and especially their sweet heart cakes." Kris pressed his forehead on the window, viewing the scenery. Sohyun scratched her head and pondered. "What's sweet heart cakes?"

"Or also known as wife cakes. It's a pastry." He smiled.

When they got off, the streets were flooded with people. Kris glanced at Sohyun, then grabbed her wrist and led her through the crowd, squeezing their way through the crowd as they walk. Even though Sohyun couldn’t see Kris, or maybe it’s the other way round, she could feel his grip tightening on her and he is able to know where Sohyun is, by just holding tightly on her small wrist. His hand slowly travelled down to her palm and held her hand, squeezing it tightly.

Sohyun slipped her hand into his and held on tightly.

"It's always like in the evening. I've been here before for business trips, so definitely I would know," Kris said as he squeezed his way through and finally into the shop.

"Give me a box of sweet heart cakes, thanks," Kris said and paid the cashier as he squeezed his way out of the entrance to met Sohyun.

He ate one of the pastries and sighed contently, then took out another and gave it to Sohyun. "Try it." Sohyun nodded her head and took a small bite, then grinning as it melt into . Then, he dragged her along, while Sohyun stumbled and followed him.

He smiled as they reached the food stand, and he grabbed the chair, sitting on it as he looked around. Sohyun sat beside him, waiting. "Two bowls of wonton noodles!" Kris shouted, while the chef nodded his head. "Woah. I didn't know you actually would visit places like this." Sohyun chuckled and rolled her sleeves up, while Kris did the same. "Well I come here for the food, not the place. I didn’t know you were the type that could stand crowded and smelly places.”

She shrugged and took out the wooden chopsticks. “I’m fine with anything.”

The waiter just slammed the food down and walked away attending other customers, while Kris glanced at Sohyun. "It's normal. It's rush hour now so they had to act fast. Did they scare you?"

Sohyun smiled and shook her head. "I understand. Let's just eat."
They tuck in and once Sohyun had the first bite, she really loved the taste. It just simply melts into . The best wonton noodles she ever had while Kris just slurped on his noodles, wiping his mouth with just his hand while Sohyun did the same.

Kris glanced at his watch and stood up after finishing his bowl, while Sohyun also finished and followed him. "It's getting late. We need to return back to the hotel. Let's go," Kris said and she nodded, hopping into a taxi.

---

"That wonton noodles and sweet heart cakes are really nice," Sohyun commented as she packed her stuff, communicating with Kris through the connecting door which they left it open.

"Of course. That's why I'm quite familiar with this place now," he replied and took a towel from the bathroom.

Sohyun heard him opening the front door, exiting as she looked through the connecting door. "Mentor, where are you going?" Kris put on his slippers as he hung the towel around his neck and looked at Sohyun. "I'm going to swim before bathing."

"Oh, then have a good time swimming." She smiled and waved, while Kris tilted his head. "Aren't you coming along?" Sohyun shook her head. "I can't swim."
He pursed his lips and casted his gaze somewhere, then thought of an idea. "I can teach you."

--

"You sure this is a good idea? After all I'm afraid I would drown and.."

"You wanna bet?" He asked and Sohyun's ear perked up. She smirked, crossing her arms. "How much?"

Kris smirked. "One thousand won."

Sohyun laughed and lightly punched his arm. "Are you serious?!"

"You can't back out now. And remember? I'm your mentor." Kris took off his slippers and dived into the pool, making a big splash, and Sohyun walked back from the swimming pool, yelping.

"I know you're my mentor, but you're not my mentor for swimming.."

"One, two, three-“

"Alright alright. I'll go in.." Sohyun muttered as she slowly dipped her feet into the pool, then quickly retracted as she jumped away. The water was simply too cold for her. "You won't drown I promise," Kris assured while Sohyun bit her lip, hesitantly dipping her feet into the pool again. This time, Kris grabbed her ankle and pulled her in. She yelped and fell into the pool, frantically trying to keep herself above the water, waving her hands in the air while she gasped for air.

Kris stood beside her, raising his brows at her and rolling his eyes.

"Help! I'm drowning!" Sohyun said in between coughs and gulps while she continued waving her hands in the air, her feet not daring to touch the ground of the pool.

"Sohyun, it's only 1.2m. How bad can it be? You're not drowning," Kris replied, standing at one side.

Sohyun stopped failing her hands in the air and touched the ground of the pool. It was shallow. "Oh."

She bit her lip and smiled shyly, lowering her gaze. "You're lucky there aren’t many people to witness your embarrassment." Kris said as he swam to the centre of the pool. "Come on. I'll teach you how to swim." Kris said as he extended his hand out for Sohyun to take, and she smiled and took it.

"First, you need to know how to float," Kris instructed. He demonstrated and Sohyun followed.

"Now, go to the side of the pool. Try lifting yourself up to float and you kick the water with your feet." Kris demonstrated again and Sohyun nodded her head, understanding.

She held onto the edge, then kicked the water with his legs while Kris frowned and shook his head. "Your body needs to be straight. Your body is slanted." He straighten her legs and pushed her slightly up, then she kicked water into his face. "Hey," he coughed and Sohyun bit her lip, apologizing.

"Nevermind. Your kicks are strong, try swimming now, or peddling."

"Peddling?" Sohyun repeated, asking while Kris took her hand and led her to the centre of the pool. "I'll hold you. Try floating and kicking water to push yourself further to the front. Now, go," Kris instructed and she nodded her head in determination, then tried floating herself as she kicked.

She smiled and she propelled herself to the front, while Kris nodded his head, slightly smiling.
Kris slowly let go of her hand, drifting further away as she continued smiling and kicking water while she kept her head above water.

"See? You can swim," Kris said and Sohyun nodded her head, as she looked at Kris who was beside her. That was when Sohyun just realized he had long let go of her hand. Her eyes widened in shock, and she stopped kicking which then her head went underwater. Kris quickly went underwater, then carried her up with his arm wrapped around her waist, and she held onto his shirt, coughing as she pounded her chest. "Are you alright?" Kris asked worriedly and she nodded her head, catching her breath as she held tightly to him, unwilling to let go of his shirt.

She could feel his muscles as his wet shirt stuck to his skin.

It was only then she found out how close their faces were together.

She quickly let go of her grip on him and he did the same too.

"I guess that's all for today, well at least you can swim." Kris climbed up and wrapped himself in the towel, while Sohyun nodded her head and went up. "Yeah."

He tossed her a towel to wrap herself, keeping herself warm. Both of them were wet from head to toe, and Sohyun shivered from the air conditioner that was blowing right at her in the elevator. She gulped and shivered again.

Kris took off his towel and placed it around her, then crossing his arms in front of his chest. She glanced up at him, while he just looked at the door. "Take it or you'll get sick. Have some good rest before leaving the hotel tomorrow. I can't believe you're so weak."

Sohyun couldn’t help but crack a smile as entered her room, then closed the connecting door. "Ah yes." She opened the connecting door again. "Thanks for teaching me swimming," Sohyun said and smiled, while Kris nodded his head. "Welcome. Goodnight."

"Goodnight," she replied and closed the connecting door, then headed for shower before sleeping.

While she showered, she thought about the things she did today with Kris, and she couldn't help but smile at how she could actually know Hong Kong this much.
Well, even though she wasn't able to go on any leisure trips since this is a business trip, at least it was a fruitful one.

Kris sighed as he looked at the connecting door that was close and he sighed in content. It would be great if only every business trip he wouldn't be alone. He smiled.
