Chapter 50

Danger

Dara’s Point of View
:

Two days. It’s been two whole freaking days since I’ve last seen Ji-Yong and I guess you can say I’ve grown impatient.

I mean spending almost every day with him to not being able to see him at all is a big change especially when I’m so used to being near him all the time and feeling his touch.

I’m also craving to feel his lips on mine. Call me crazy but that boy can kiss and make you feel like you’re lying on top of a cloud.

My fingers have been itching all day to text him and ask him if he’s alright or if they’ve gotten word on what’s going on with the investigation but Ji-Yong warned me not to do so because the cops will check his phone if they have to in order to see if he’s texted anyone about Parker.

I hated not being able to be there with him every step of the way but I’m glad he kept me safe. The last thing I need right now is for my parents to get involved.

“Miss Park, is there a reason why you’re not paying attention to my lesson?” I snapped my head up to see Mrs. Hendricks’s staring through the glasses perched on her nose at me.

I bit my lip, my cheeks probably the color of a tomato. “No Mrs. Hendricks.”

“Then I suggest you pay attention and quit daydreaming.”

I nodded, watching as she gave me a firm look before turning around and continuing her lesson.

It was currently the last period of the day and I was aching to get out of this chair and head home.

I much rather be up in my room then sitting here listening to Mrs. Hendricks go on and on about how World War II began to be honest.

I bobbed my foot, tapping my fingers endlessly on the top of my desk, counting down each second left until the bell rang.

Bom was able to keep tabs on what was going on and because she was done with all the questions, she was given permission by Ji-Yong to let me know.

She texted me the other day when she was released from the police station and let me know about how everything with her went smoothly. She also told me that they had Ji-Yong in there as well but from the looks of it, he wasn’t in any trouble.

I was thankful for that. I don’t know what I’d do if they took him into custody.

My thoughts were cut off once more by this time the final bell rang and immediately I sprang up, grabbing my books and shoving them into my bag before rushing out of the room.

I walked down the hall, shoving past people in order to get to my locker and get the out of here.

I don’t understand why people have to stop in the middle of the freaking hallway just to have a conversation. Like, can’t they move to the side or something?

Idiots.

I shook my head, finally arriving to my locker. Twisting the dial to each of the three numbers I was given at the beginning of the year, I opened my locker, stuffing things inside before slamming it shut.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I let out a frustrated growl. Why is everyone opposed to me leaving?

Slipping it from my pocket, I dodged a few kids fooling around in the hallways while making my way to the double doors that led outside.

From: Unknown
Come outside.

I furrowed my eyebrows together in confusion, my stomach churning at the unfamiliarity of the number.

I texted back quickly, not wanting to take my chances.

To: Unknown
Who is this?

Seconds later, the screen of my phone illuminated.

From: Unknown
You’ll see ;)

I bit my lip, looking around and noticing that even though most of the kids had left, some were still present which gave me some comfort knowing that if it were some killer, there would be witnesses.

Before I knew it, I was now face to face with the double doors and fear took control of me. How did this person, whoever he or she was, get my number?

There was only one way to find out.

Sighing, I pushed the doors open, letting the afternoon air whip through me. Stepping outside, I took a deep breath, looking around to find any sort of sign from the person who had texted me.

It wasn’t until my eyes scanned by a familiar dirty blonde haired boy with hazel eyes that I froze, my eyes widening.

A smirk fell upon his lips. “Miss me?”

“Ji-Yong?” I gaped, completely taken back by the fact that my boyfriend was just a few feet away from me.

His arms were crossed against his chest as he leaned back against his car. He was wearing all white, the sleeves of his dress shirt hung over his V-neck rolled up to his elbows, a white cap placed backwards on his head.

“C’mere,” He leaned off his car, taking a few strides away from his car and towards me.

I didn’t hesitate before running down the stairs and over to him, leaping into his open arms as I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck, my head burying itself in his shoulder. “I missed you so much.” I murmured against his shirt.

“I missed you too baby.” He held me tight, not once letting me go as he swayed my body back and forth, plastering small kisses near my cheek and neck.

Once he set me down, I quickly grabbed his face, pressing my lips to his, not being able to hold myself back any longer.

Ji-Yong chuckled, grabbing my hands and prying them off of his face while holding onto them as he deepened the kiss, running his tongue across my bottom lip.

I granted access, feeling his tongue slip inside as we fought for dominance. I moaned into the kiss, wanting more of him.

After a few more seconds, Ji-Yong pulled away, his lips to savor the taste.

I leaned on my toes, trying to reassess our previous make out session but he pulled back before I could. I groaned in annoyance.

“Someone’s impatient.” He laughed, staring down at me with pure amusement in his eyes.

“I haven’t seen you in two days. What do you expect? For me to give you a hug hello while we sit down and have a conversation on how everything went while drinking a cup of tea?” I cocked my head to the side, raising my eyebrows, sarcasm tinted in my words.

He shook his head, leaning down while pressing his lips softly to mine before pulling away. “No.”

“Good.” I huffed. “Because I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to contain myself any longer.”

“Oh really?” He grinned.

I nodded. “Mhm.”

“Well, if that’s the case, come here.” He hooked his arm around my waist, pulling me into his chest as he nuzzled his head into the crook of my neck, on the skin.

I leaned my head to the side, giving more room to do his magic. “Ji-Yong…” I whispered.

Turning us over so that he shielded me from anyone’s view, he pressed each of his hands on either side of me, working his way all the way around my neck.

Running my fingers up his shirt, I scratched at his stomach, desperate to feel his touch.

Pulling away, he laid his forehead against mine. “I love you.”

I softly smiled. “I love you too.”

“You don’t understand how hard it was to stay away from you for this long. I tried to call you multiple times but Young Bae threatened to break my phone if I did.” He chuckled, his chest vibrating against my own.

“He means well.” I smiled.

“I know he does but he doesn’t have a girlfriend. He doesn’t understand my need to want to be near you twenty four seven. Call me obsessed but you’re like my drug babe.” He his lips. “I just can’t get enough of you.” Ji-Yong smirked.

Rolling my eyes, I pushed him back a bit. “You’re such a cornball.”

He arched his brows. “A what?”

“A cornball.”

“What the is that?” He gave me a weird look.

I shrugged. “Find out for yourself.”

“No, tell me.” He urged, pinching my sides making me squirm underneath him.

“Fine, okay, I will!” I breathed out, giving him an incredulous look before straightening my posture. “It means you’re a corny motherer.” I batted my eyelashes innocently, grinning up at him.

“Even though I hate when you get all smart with me, I’m going to let this one slide.” He stared down at me knowingly.

“Oh really?” I countered.

He nodded with a smirk.

“And why is that?” I smiled.

He leaned down, brushing his lips against my ear. “I missed you too much to start a pointless argument.”

“Well that’s a first.” I giggled.

“Yeah, yeah, don’t get used to it babe. Arguing with you is an everyday thing.” He fixed the cap on his head, smirking.

I rolled my eyes. “Of course it is.”

Laughing, he thumbed my chin. “Come on, we better get going. I promised Young Bae we’d make it by three thirty.”

I furrowed my eyebrows together in confusion. “Where are we going that we have to be there at three thirty?”

He looked at me as if he’d just seen a ghost. “,” He hissed, shaking his head. “Did I forget to mention that the guys are having a barbeque back at the house and you were invited?”

I pursed my lips. “You might have forgotten to tell me that, yes.” I laughed.

“What can I say? You’re just too irresistible, I forgot.” He grinned and I couldn’t help but shake my head at his cuteness.

“Good one.” I nodded.

“Thanks.” He nonchalantly shrugged. “I try.”

“Did you also forget that I’m kinda still punished and have to be home right about now?”

Realization hit and Ji-Yong let out a growl of frustration. “ing hell…” He mumbled, scratching the back of his neck.

“Yeah…” I trailed off, fumbling on my feet.

“Do you think you can call them and tell them that you’re going to do a project or something?”

“I don’t know if they’ll believe me, Ji-Yong. I use that excuse so many times.”

“Come on, it’s near the last quarter of school, I’m sure they’ll believe it. Besides, what did you have to lie about the last few days I was gone?”

I thought about it. “Nothing.”

“Then it should work.”

I bit my lip. “What if it doesn’t?”

“We’ll work something out.” Walking around to the front of his car, Ji-Yong hopped on the hood, gesturing with his two fingers to come over to him.

I did as I was told while taking out my phone.

Grabbing onto my hips, Ji-Yong pulled me in between his legs.

I smiled, interlacing our fingers together as the phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Mom?” I questioned uneasily.

Ji-Yong squeezed my hand in reassurance.

“Yes?” I could tell she was making lunch because I heard her shuffling around in the cabinets, the sounds of pots and pans clanking together.

“Uhm, today in Science class, Mrs. Rodgers assigned us partners to a project that’s due tomorrow and Maria, my partner, wanted to know if I could work on it at her house because she has to watch her little brother until her mom comes home.”

I played with Ji-Yong’s fingers as I bit the skin on my bottom lip, waiting for my mom’s answer.

“Where’s her mom?”

“At work. She’s going to be coming home around four so we’ll only be alone for half an hour.”

“Alright, just be home around six. Okay?”

I widened my eyes, keeping myself calm from screaming in happiness. “Really?”

Ji-Yong knitted his eyebrows together. Pulling at my hand, I looked up at him. “What did she say?” He mouthed.

I smiled, nodding my head to signify she said yes.

“Yes, Dara.” She sighed. “You don’t suppose I want you to fail, do you?”

“Of course not.” I shook my head despite the fact that she couldn’t see me.

“Your studies come first so go ahead and work on the project. Don’t fool around; make sure it’s the best it could be. You want high grades if you want to get into college.”

I inwardly rolled my eyes. “I know mom.”

“I’ll see you at six then.”

“Yes, you will.” I grinned up at Ji-Yong.

“Love you.”

“Love you too.” I pressed end before letting out a squeal of happiness. “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!”

Jumping down from the hood of the car, Ji-Yong wrapped his arms around me. “I told you she’d say yes.”

“I know. Now, let’s go! I’m starving.” I laughed, pulling at Ji-Yong’s hand.

Chuckling, both Ji-Yong and I got inside the car. Buckling myself in, I waited as he turned it on before pulling out of the space and driving down onto the road.

“So, what happened at the station?” I questioned minutes after he began driving.

“What do you mean?” He glanced away from the road for a split second before turning back.

“I don’t know. What did they say? What did they do?” I shrugged. “I don’t know how the whole process works.”

Ji-Yong nodded, understanding. “They basically came to my house early in the morning, searched the place and asked what I did at the party. I told them the story that I told Bom to use. That wasn’t enough; they took me in and were asked the same questions. They were trying to confuse me into changing my answers but I know the games they play, they should’ve known I’m used to it by now.”

I bit my lip, curiosity getting the best of me. “How many times have you been taken into custody?”

Ji-Yong seemed to have gone numb because he didn’t say anything for a while. Instead, he continued driving.

“Ji-Yong?”

He shook his head, snapping himself out of it. “What did you say again?”

I knew he was trying to play dumb in order to get himself out of answering but I needed to know.

“How many times have the cops taken you in?”

Ji-Yong checked his rearview mirror, his grip on the steering wheel tightening. “You really want to know?”

I nodded.

He sighed, turning the corner and onto another street. “Five.”

My eyes nearly fell from their sockets. “Five?” I emphasized, in shock.

“Yeah.”

I bit my lip, scared to ask the next question. “How many times out of that five were they true?”

“You mean how many of those crimes I committed?”

I didn’t answer and Ji-Yong took that as a yes.

“All of them.”

I squeezed my eyes shut, keeping a tight hold onto my shirt as I latched onto the inside of my cheek.

I could feel Ji-Yong’s eyes burning against the side of my face but I ignored him. Taking a deep breath, I turned my gaze out the window.

“Kels?” Ji-Yong asked a few seconds later.

“Hm?”

He sighed. “Look at me.”

I shook my head.

“Babe, look at me.” Leaning over, he brushed his fingers against the hand rolled up in my shirt before grabbing hold of it.

I gulped, hesitantly turning to look at him. “Yeah?” I whispered.

“Are you scared?”

“No.” And that was the truth.

“Are you upset?”

“Yes.”

Ji-Yong understood where I was coming from. “I know this looks bad…”

“It looks very bad Ji-Yong…” I murmured.

“I know and I wish I could defend myself but nothing makes up for what I did.” He paused, his lips. “But, I want you to know that there are reasons behind the things I do. People give us their word and we do business with them. If they it up, they have to pay. If we let them go then that’s just like a slap in the face.”

I let the information sink in before another thought came to mind. “Did you kill them like you did with P—”

“Parker?” He finished for me.

I nodded once more.

“Yes.”

My stomach churned unpleasantly, the idea of him killing someone was something hard to come to terms with especially when he’s done it more than once.

“What did you do with the bodies?”

“No more questions, Dara.” He stated abruptly.

“Ji-Yong—”

“I mean it Dara . You know enough, now drop it.” There was such a strong grip behind his words that I couldn’t help but oblige.

Thankfully, he had made it home so we didn’t have to sit through an awkward car ride.

The second he killed the engine, I opened the door before closing it behind me and walking over to the front door where Ji-Yong met up beside me moments later.

“You’re not mad at me, are you?”

“If I were, do you think I’d be standing here right now?” I craned my neck to look behind me, at him.

He shrugged, digging his hands deep into the pockets of his jeans.

I turned the knob, pushing the door open as both Ji-Yong and I walked inside and instantaneously we were met with the fragrance of cooking burgers and steak. I smiled at the homey feeling the place got.

“Oh, look who decided to show up, five minutes late!” Young Bae exclaimed loudly with a huge smile on his face. He was wearing a tight t-shirt with a pair of khaki shorts, a spatula in his hand.

I laughed at the sight before me.

“Sorry man got caught up in traffic.” Ji-Yong closed the door behind us, dropping his keys on the table a few feet away from us.

“What’s so funny chika?” He looked over at me, a grin of glee plastered across his lips.

“You.” I bluntly stated, shuffling past him.

Surprised by my brusqueness, Young Bae turned to Ji-Yong once more. “She’s a feisty one isn’t she?” Young Bae pointed behind him.

Ji-Yong chuckled, clapping hands with him. “You have no idea.”

“Glad you could make it, Dara!” He called back towards me.

“Me too.” I answered while taking a detour of the house all the way to the backyard where Seung Hyun, Seungri and Daesung were sat on separate lawn chairs.

“Dara!” They said in unison.

I smiled. “Hey guys.”

Standing up, each of them gave me a hug before taking their seats once more.

“What are you guys doing?” I leaned my right hip against the table, arms crossed against my chest.

“The usual—chilling,” Seung Hyun took a sip of the beer he had in his hand.

“Doesn’t that get boring?”

“Yes.” Seungri breathlessly said with a grunt. “You have no idea how annoying it is to constantly stay in the house.”

“Why don’t you guys go out or something?”

“Eh, we do but even that gets tiring sometimes.”

“Lazy asses.”

“Hey!” Seungri intervened, “I am not lazy.”

The guys laughed at his statement. “Yeah, right!” Daesung shook his head. “You’re one of the laziest people I’ve ever met.”

“You know what? You’re not that innocent either, Daesung.” Seungri hissed.

“Beats being a lazy bum like you.” He shot back.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa guys… no need to start a fight.” I put my hands up in defense. “I was just asking.”

Seungri sighed. “It’s okay. The heat does this to us on a daily basis. It’s not you.”

“It’s true.” I heard a voice from behind me but there was no point in seeing who it was. I already knew. “The heat makes them insane.”

“It’s not even that hot…”

“To them, it is.” Ji-Yong chuckled, pulling the seat that sat across the table from the guys out from under the table before sitting down and pulling me down onto his lap.

AdJi-Yongg myself, I sat up properly, the air winding through my hair.

Ji-Yong grunted. “Don’t do that babe.” He muttered.

“What?” I wiggled my once more. “This?”

The guys chuckled, Ji-Yong the only one groaning.

“If you don’t want me to flip you over this table and you senseless, I suggest you stop.”

My eyes widened as I coughed to get rid of the awkwardness. “Okay.” I squeaked out causing the guys to laugh loudly.

I blushed, looking down so that my hair blocked view of my now burning red face.

“That’s what I thought.”

I playfully rolled my eyes, looking over to see Young Bae had made his way out here. He opened the barbeque, flipping a few burgers.

My mouth watered just seeing all the food he was preparing.

“So, what’s going on with you Dara?” Seung Hyun in a breath after taking a huge gulp of his b

“Eh,” I shrugged. “I go to school, usually come here after and then I go home and the cycle repeats.”

“Well that’s a helluva lot of fun.”

I laughed. “You betcha.”

“What’s it like being in a relationship with this one?” Daesung gestured with his hand over to Ji-Yong.

“It’s okay, I guess.”

“Okay?” Ji-Yong faked a gasp. “Just okay? I assume all the times I pleasured you, they were all just okay too?”

I nearly choked on my spit. “Ji-Yong!” I hissed, slapping his chest.

Young Bae almost dropped the spatula along with the plate of burgers he had finished cooking while the others were pissing their pants right about now.

“What?” He harmlessly looked up at me, trying too hard to contain his hilarity inside.

I gritted my teeth together, shaking my head. “You’re such an .”

“You love me.” He smirked.

“No.” I shook my head, standing up. “I don’t.”

“Babe—”

I put a hand up. “Save it.” Turning around, I was just about to make my way inside when Ji-Yong grabbed onto my hand, pulling me back and into his chest where my back was pressed against him.

“I’m sorry.” He crooned in my ear, laying a feather of a kiss on it.

“Get off of me, Ji-Yong.” I warned.

“Come on Dara , don’t be like this…”

“I said get off of me, Ji-Yong.” I spat. “Now.”

Sighing, he let me go, taking a step back.

“Thank you.” I left the patio, heading back inside.

Ji-Yong’s Point of View:

I ed up. Again.

No shocker there.

“Why can’t you just contain that mouth of yours Kwon?” Young Bae scolded with a gruff shake of his head.

“I was just joking! I didn’t think she’d get that upset over it.” I plopped myself down on the chair I had previously been sitting in.

“She’s a girl. They don’t like talking about their… ual relations in public.”

I rolled my eyes. “Whatever man.”

“Young Bae has a point. Even though that was funny as hell, you have to watch what you say.”

“Will do, dad.” I hissed, shooting him a look of annoyance.

Seung Hyun put his hands up in surrender. “I’m just saying.”

“Well, don’t.”

Shrugging, Seung Hyun leaned back, finishing up his bottle of beer before discarding it in the recycle bin.

“Yo, you got any more of those?”

He nodded, leaning behind him with his right arm, shuffling in the cooler we have outside before grabbing one and handing it to me.

“Thanks.” I twisted the cap off with my hand before throwing it away and chugging down the beverage.

I felt the eyes of the guys on me but I ignored them. Finishing it up, I my lips. “Ah, that was refreshing.”

Seung Hyun shook his head at me, not saying a word.

“What?” I spat, knowing he wanted to say something.

“Nothing.”

“That’s what I thought.” I grumbled.

“Just because you made an out of yourself, don’t take it out on us.” Young Bae warned. “I made this little get together to have fun and celebrate your release from the cops. I don’t want any drama or rude behavior.”

I balled my hands into fists, locking my jaw tight.

Upon noticing this, Young Bae shook his head, turning back around to finish cooking the rest of the food.

Standing up, I pushed the chair I was sitting in back, the metal of the legs scratching against the ground and making a loud screeching sound.

I walked inside the house, in search for Dara. “Dara?”

No answer.

I furrowed my eyebrows, jogging up the stairs and into my room where I found her lying on the bed, looking up at the ceiling.

“Sel?”

She didn’t say anything.

I sighed. “Are you still mad at me?”

“You tell me.” She muttered. “You just told all of them that you ‘pleasured’ me. Do you know how embarrassing that was?”

“I wasn’t thinking, okay? I forgot girls are secretive of that .”

She scoffed bitterly. “How the could you forget?”

“I don’t know, okay? I was just fooling around. Trying to have a good time… I should have thought twice before opening my mouth.”

“No, what you need to learn is how to stop talking out of your and use your brain for once.”

Not wanting to turn this into an argument, I nodded my head. “You’re right.”

“I mean, it’s not going to kill you to just—wait, what did you say?” She sat up, her eyes piercing through mine.

“I said…” Walking over to her, I sat by her feet. “You’re right. I should have used my brain for once.”

Dara narrowed her eyes at me. “What’s the catch?”

“Catch? What catch?”

“I don’t know. You’re agreeing without fighting back. This normally doesn’t happen…”

I chuckled. “Well, I guess I’m just tired of fighting with you.” Leaning over, I grabbed her hand, pulling her onto my lap. “I almost lost you; I don’t want to waste my time with having you back on stupid .”

She nodded, understanding where I was coming from. “Me neither.”

“Then believe me when I tell you I’m sorry.”

“It’s not that I don’t believe you. It’s just that I hate when you do thinsg like this. It just ruins the mood and everything.”

Leaning over, I pressed my lips to hers.

Kissing back, Dara pulled me closer by the neck.

on her bottom lip, I leaned over her, laying her down on the bed while hovering over her body.

The second I began trailing kisses down her neck, she stopped me. “Ji-Yong,” Dara pressed her hands against my chest. “Don’t.”

“Why not?” I whispered, out of breath.

She shook her head. “I don’t want to.”

I nodded, respecting her decision. “Alright, come on.” Leaning off of her, I stood up, pulling her along with me.

“I’m sorry.”

I shook my head. “Don’t be. It’s not a crime not wanting to make out.” I wrapped an arm around her shoulders, bringing her into my side.

She smiled, kissing my cheek. “Thank you.”

“No problem. Now, can we go back to the guys?”

She laughed, nodding her head. “Yes, we can.”

Taking her hand in mine, I led her down the stairs.

“I forgive you, by the way.” She murmured to me as we headed out onto the patio.

I smiled, looking down at her. Kissing her on the lips, I pulled away.

“Aw, look whose back.” Seung Hyun cooed childishly, grinning broadly over at us. “Did you guys make up?”

Dara blushed, hiding her face behind her hair. Something she did quite often when embarrassed and she didn’t want anyone to see her.

“Shut up, Seung Hyun.”

He laughed, leaning back against his chair.

“Glad you love birds are finally back to your normal selves.” Young Bae walked over placing a plate of burgers, steaks, chicken and French fries on the table. “We were afraid you’d miss the food.”

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I winked playfully, my arms now wrapped around Dara’s waist. “Are you hungry?”

She nodded. “Starving.”

“Let’s eat then—”

Suddenly everyone went quiet, the sound of heels clicking against the floor heard from miles away.

A pair of red stilettoes had made their way outside and as I traveled my eyes up, I scowled upon noticing the had arrived.

“Aw,” JIn Hee faked sadness. “You guys started without me?”

My grip around Dara tightened and I knew by the way JIn Hee’s eyes found us and how the glint in them shined brightly, that she had something planned and God knows what she’s going to do.

well this happend while i was reading you storie... ^_^V
Back to your storie, even this was not the ending that i thought it would be it is a really awesome story!!
and why not, its nice to read (well not nice but..argh you know what i mean) -to read a end that you wouldn't expected...
sadly that there wouldn't be a happy ending...
But you know that in many stories has a happy ending but if it has a sad ending it makes the story also sad and that it doesn't fit in it.
but in this story it makes your storie :3 it was a real adventure to read it and i enjoyed!
