Chapter 34

Danger

HERE IS CHAPTER 34 <3

------------------------------------------------

Ji-Yong’s Point of View:

I’m a ing idiot.

It’s official.

I repeatedly slammed my fists into the lockers, trying to release my anger but in reality it was just getting me heated up even more.
When I get angry, my fury takes over and it’s like I’m not there anymore. I’m not the one talking. My rage is.

I black out and I don’t know what I do until I screw something up.

By the time I was done beating the life out of the lockers, my chest was heaving up and downviolently, my knuckles scabbed red, bleeding adding onto my already bashed up fists due to my fight with Luke last night.

I shook my head, running my fingers through my hair while pulling at the ends.

I had to make things right with Dara because if I didn’t, I’d drive myself insane.

She’s like a drug. A drug I can’t get enough of.

No matter how much she upsets, annoys or irritates me, I still care about her.

Something inside of me just won’t let her go.

I had to find her and make things right again. Even if I don’t deserve her forgiveness, I still want to try.
Ignoring the stares I was receiving by those around me, I darted down the hallway in search for Dara . The bell didn’t ring yet which meant I still had a few more minutes before class began.

Turning a corner, I stood looking over everyone’s heads to see if I could see her petite frame anywhere. I didn’t.

Sighing, I began walking the opposite direction, trying to retrieve the steps she took. She had to be near. I could feel it.
Thinking back to when she was at her locker, she was grabbing the books she needed for class and one of the first one’s she grabbed was History.
If only I knew which room that was.

“You!” I grabbed onto a guy’s arm, turning him around to face me. “Do you know where the history room is?”

His eyes were slightly wide as his face flashed white. He looked as if he’s seen a ghost.

I rolled my eyes. “Do you know or not?” I spat. “I don’t ing have all day.”

seemed to snap him out of it because he fervently nodded his head. Gulping, he his lips. “It-It’s room 210B.”

I released his arm, nodding my head. “Alright, thanks.”

“No problem.” He squeaked out before I patted his shoulder and walked away practically rushing to the classroom.

Running up the stairs to get to the second floor of the school, I began walking down the hallway reading off the numbers on the doors and pushing past the kids scattered around.

Once I began reaching room 210, I slowed down slightly. I was losing my breath and growing tired. I’ve basically been chasing this girl for what seemed like hours
when in reality, it was only several minutes.

It took a while but finally I found the room and the girl I’ve been searching for.

“Dara!” I called out causing a few heads to turn and stare.

I shot them glares, a low growl emitting from my lips causing them to turn their heads forcing them to mind their own business.

Her eyes found mine and for a split second, I thought she was going to come on over but I was let down the moment she turned away, a scowl on her face.

I frowned, opening my mouth to call her name once more when the bell rang. “.”

I mumbled, brushing past people and hurrying over to Dara .

All the kids have gone to class and I had made it just in time to find Dara about to enter but before she could, I grabbed her arm, pulling her back.

“What the--Ji-Yong,” Dara hissed. “Let me go! What are you doing?”

“I need to talk to you.” I rushed my words, wanting desperately for her to listen to me.
“No.” She shook her head. “You said all you had to say before. I have to go to class now.”
“I didn’t mean any of that--”

“Of course you did and that’s alright. I don’t care but I care about being late to class so if you could excuse me…” She tried to remove my hand from her arm but that only resulted in me strengthening my hold on her. She winced. “Ji-Yong--”

“Please, just hear me out.”
She stared me in the eyes, anger and sadness written all over them making my heart and stomach both drop to the ground. I hated seeing her upset especially when I was the cause of her pain as if on cue, I released my tight grip on her arm.

“Please.” I begged.
She shook her head. “You don’t deserve it. Why should I listen to you?”

“Because I need you to just listen to me--”

“I did and all that came out of your mouth was insult after insult, Ji-Yong--”

“I know and I’m sorry. Okay?”

“Sorry doesn’t always make everything better.”

“I know it doesn’t but I’m trying here. Okay? I could have easily let you wakl away and not give a damn but that’s my problem. I care and I hate upsetting you. It’s corny as but also true.”
Her eyes searched mine before finally, she sighed, her shoulders slumping forwards.

“Make it quick.”

My lips tugged upwards slightly. “Thank you.”
She nodded, her eyes not meeting mine.
Letting her arm go, she crossed the both of them across her chest, waiting for me to speak.

“I’m an .”

“Clearly.”

“I’m also a douche.”
She nodded, agreeing with me.

“And I’m a ing retard.”

“Couldn’t have said it better myself.”
I chuckled. “Gee, thanks.”
She shrugged. “It’s the truth.”
I sighed. “I know and that’s why I came here to apologize to you because I know I’m all those things and I had no right to be. You were only joking and I took it seriously and I shouldn’t have. I overreacted.”

“Overreacted? Try more like you completely went ballistic Ji-Yong.”

“That’s what happens when I lose control. My anger gets the best of me and I black out.”
She frowned, understanding what I meant.

“When that happens there’s no telling what I could say or do. I just… do it without a second thought to the consequences.”
She sulked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “You have to learn how to control yourself Ji-Yong.”
I nodded. “I know I do but sometime’s it’s just hard and I don’t know when it’s going to happen. It just does and the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you especially after all that’s have happened…” I rubbed the back of my neck, desperation tinted within each word I spoke.

“It doesn’t matter if you meant to or not. Sometimes, when you’re angry, the truth comes out and--”

“No.” I spat with a fierce shake of my head. “That’s not true because you’re perfect just the way you are. I wasn’t thinking clearly when I said all those things to you. I was being an idiot, talking out of my . There is no way in hell you’re any where near a . Do you understand me?”

She looked away from me, avoiding my gaze.

This made me frustrated. Grabbing her chin gently, I pulled her face up to look at me. “I said do you understand me?”

She shrugged. “Whatever.”
“Don’t ‘whatever’ me, Dara .” I sighed, perturbed.

“Or what? You’ll go on another rampage of insults?” She cocked a brow, shifting her weight to one hip as she positioned her hand there.

I shook my head. “No.”
“Shocker.” She rolled her eyes, looking away from me and at the other side of the hall.

I bit my lip. “Dara …”
“What?” She mumbled, still avoiding my eyes.

“Look at me.” I spoke lowly, my voice only emitting soft enough for her ears only.
She bit her lip, ignoring my order.

“Babe…”
She shook her head, biting onto her lip even harder.

It wasn’t until I saw the pain in her eyes and the wariness of her body that I realized, she didn’t want to talk and she didn’t want to listen. All she wanted was comfort and that’s what I was going to do.

Walking over to her, I wrapped my arms around her frame, pulling her into me.
A soft gasp escaped her lips as her body fell against mine.

I held her tight, not letting go as she comforted in my hold, getting used to it
while closing her eyes, her arms slowly but surely wrapping around me as well.

“I’m sorry.” I whispered into her hair.
She kept silent though, her face nuzzling into my chest, hiding from me.
If words weren’t going to do the trick, the only other option was to show her.

“I’ll tell you what,” I shuffled back a bit in order to get a good look at her as she stared up at me.

“What?” She whispered.

“During your lunch period, I want you to meet me by the front doors--”

“Ji-Yong, I don’t think that’s a good id--”
I shook my head. “Trust me, we’re not skipping school but--”

“Ji-Yong, I already missed a day of school and look how that turned out. I don’t want anymore drama for today. I just want to get this over with.”

“Listen, all I’m doing is taking you out--”

“Ji-Yong, you don’t have to--”

“But I want to. If I can’t see you after school, there’s no way I’m going to wait until your punishment’s over to be able to make things right. During your lunch period, I want you to meet me in the front and I’m going to take you somewhere.” Worry flashed within her orbs and I knew right then what her concern was and I was quick to reassure her. “Don’t worry, I’ll have you back in time for you to make it to your next class.”

“But, Ji-Yong--”

“No buts, okay? Please, just let me do this… alright?” I questioned softly, my eyes pleading.
She contemplated all that I had said before finally, she gave in. “Okay.”
I smiled. “You won’t regret this, I promise!”

“I better not.” She muttered jokingly.
I pulled away from her. “Just go to class and make sure to meet me--”

“By the front doors. Yeah, yeah, I got it.” She laughed lightly.
I cheekily smiled before leaning down and pecking her lips gently. “I’ll see you later.”

She nodded, smiling softly.

“Now, get to class.” I ushered her towards the classroom door earning a giggle to come from those beautiful lips of hers.
Turning, she shot me a supple grin before opening the door to the class and disappearing inside.
It was about time I made things right once and for all.

Dara’s Point of View:

“You actually came.”

“Yeah, well I said I would.”

Ji-Yong pushed himself off of the wall he had been leaning against as he walked over to me. “I know but a part of me couldn’t help but think that you wouldn’t.”

I cocked a brow up. Even though I knew this was a bad idea and he didn’t deserve the least of my attention, at least not for a few days, I still kept my word. No matter what. “I may be a lot of things but one thing I’m not is a liar.” I shuffled past him.

I heard him sight as he walked after me. “I said I was sorry.”
I shrugged. “So?”

“I was hoping we were over this whole act already.” I could sense the frustration behind his words.

“Yeah? Well you thought wrong.” I spat.

“Dara--”

“No.” I spat, turning around. “You may think a sorry will fix this all but it won’t and I don’t know what you have planned for us but I know one thing for sure, no matter what you do, nothing will make up for what you said to me.”

“I didn’t mean what I said!”

“That doesn’t matter because in the end it all hurts just the same!” I looked at him in complete disbelief. “How could you possibly think what you did is okay?”

“I don’t think that--”
“Yes you do or else you wouldn’t brush it off like it’s nothing. You wouldn’t act like a simple sorry would fix it all--”

“That’s why I’m taking you out right now. I want to show you that I’m sorry instead of just saying it.”
“If you’re thinking about having with me, to show me how sorry you are, you’ve got another thing coming.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Ji-Yong shook his head, putting his hands up in defense. “Who said anything about ?”
I shrugged. “I’m just saying.”
He furrowed his eyebrows. “That isn’t my intention. “You don’t have to worry about that--”

“Why? Am I not good enough for you?”

“What? I never said that?” He stared at me with a mixture of shock and confusion.
I felt my neck and cheeks growing hot with anger and embarrassment. Running my fingers through my hair, I rubbed my neck, fanning myself soon after.
It felt like the air was closing in around me and I couldn’t breathe.

“Are you okay?” Ji-Yong asked, concern laced within his words.
I nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine just give me a second please.”

He nodded, digging his hands deep into the pockets of his skinny jeans.
It took me a while but I slowly came to terms with what was going on and that’s when I knew I was letting my frustrations get the best of me. Sighing, I shook my head, getting rid of all my thoughts.
I took a couple deep breaths to clear my mind. Eventually, I opened my eyes to find Ji-Yong staring at me with concern. I looked away, my lips. “I’m sorry.”

“For what?”

“Flipping out on you. I don’t know what’s going on with me right now.”

“It’s okay. You’re just getting overwhelmed, take a moment to calm down and relax.”
I nodded, listening to what he said. I counted to ten in my head and I thought about all the happy things like rainbows and butterflies. Weirdly, it worked and my muscles loosened and my body relaxed. After a few minutes, I shuffled on my feet. “Thanks.”
He shrugged. “It’s no problem. Are you okay now?”

“Yeah, let’s go.”
Ji-Yong stared at me and I could tell he was still slightly concerned with me but I brushed it off. It’s his fault I’m this way anyways.

“Listen,” Ji-Yong sighed, grabbing onto my wrist to stop me from walking.
I winced, pulling my hand back quickly.

He furrowed his eyebrows together before leaning over and grasping my wrist into his hand once more, this time, examining it. As he looked it over, his face contorted the look of numbness. Looking up at me, he locked his jaw tight. “Did I do this?”

I kept quiet, not knowing what to say.
Sadness filled his eyes. “Dara?”

I looked down at my feet.

fingers brushed against the wound. “Did I?”

I slowly nodded my head.

I heard him take in a sharp breath as he glanced down at my hand. “, Dara.” He sighed, running his free hand through his hair.

“It’s okay…”

“Are you ing kidding me? Of course it’s not alright!” He barked out.
I flinched.
He sighed. “I’m sorry. It’s just… I can’t believe I did this…”

“You didn’t. Most of the damage was from those god forsaken ropes.”

“And I added onto it…” He pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head in disbelief with himself.

“Ji-Yong…”
It was as if he was in another world. His body was here but his mind was elsewhere as he continued to stare down at my wrist with heavy eyes.

I gulped, watching him.
Leaning down, I was caught by surprised as he pressed his lips against the bruises.

I gasped at the feeling.
Continuing to peck the skin, he laid open mouthed kisses on it as if he were kissing my lips, his tongue brushing against it every now and then before traveling his lips up my arm and around my shoulder.

I held my breath as I closed my eyes at the sensation.
Moving up my neck, he cupped my face in the palm of his hands, brushing his thumbs softly against my cheeks. “I’m sorry.” He whispered.

I stared into his eyes for the first time since this morning and almost immediately butterflies filled my stomach.
his lips, he continued to stare solemnly into my eyes before slowly he began closing them and leaning into me.
Closing my eyes as well, I waited as our lips soon joined together in a blissful kiss.

, he kissed a bit harder but remained soft nonetheless as he kissed with all the passion he could muster.

After a few seconds, he pulled away, his forehead staying pressed against mine, our breathing hitched. Staring into my eyes once more, he bit his lip. “I…”

“Yeah?”
He closed his eyes, shaking his head. “Nothing. I’m just… really sorry.”

“I know.” I whispered.
Opening his eyes, he stared at me with hope. “You forgive me?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “I’m not sure.”
He nodded his head before kissing me on the lips one last time. “Come on, let’s go.” Grabbing my hand in his, he began leading me to his parked car in the lot.
I followed behind, the fingers on my free hand pressed against my lips as I smiled softly to myself.

No matter how angry I was at him, that kiss held so much meaning. It held things neither of us had the guts to say.

Unlocking his car, he opened my door for me. Smiling, I thanked him before getting inside.
Walking around to his side, Ji-Yong got in as well before starting the car and pulling out of the parking lot and through the maze of parked cars where he drove onto the road and down the street.

“So… where are we going?”
He chuckled. “I thought you’d stop asking that by now.”

“Nope, I’m still just as curious as I was before.”

“Well that for you because I’m still as stubborn as before and I’m not telling you so sit tight and relax babe.”
I groaned. “I hate when you do this.”

“Nah, you know deep down inside, you love it.”

Not really.”
“Yes really.”
“Nuh-uh”
“Uh-huh”
“Nuh-uh”

“You’re impossible.” I breathed out, crossing my arms against my chest as I slumped against my seat.
He grinned cheekily. “I won.”

“Yeah, yeah..” I waved my hand dismissively.

“Aw, come on, don’t be mad babe.” He cooed arrogantly.
I shook my head. “Don’t even start.” I warned.
He chuckled. “Did I ever tell you how much of a turn on it is when you’re angry?” He smirked.

I rolled my eyes. “Really? Well I must be y as right now because I’m just fuming!”

Laughing, Ji-Yong shook his head. “And you want to call me the bipolar one.”

“That’s because you are.” I shot back.

“Obviously you don’t pay much attention to yourself.”

“Yeah, you’re right, since I’m supposedly a and all…”
I noticed Ji-Yong grabbed onto the steering wheel even tighter, his body stiffening at my words.

I mentally cursed myself, knowing that he would blow up at any second now but I was surprised to find Ji-Yong containing himself as he stared out onto the road before him as he continued driving in silence.

I sighed. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have--”

“No, it’s alright.”
I bit my lip.

“You have nothing to apologize for. You’re just repeating what I told you.” He sighed, sadness evident in his tone.

“I know but I didn’t have to shove it in your face…”
He leaned over, grabbing my hand and squeezing it in a reassuring way before he released it, moving his back to his previous position on the steering wheel.

I couldn’t help but feel a tad bit bad about how I was acting.
Maybe I should just forgive him…

“How can you forgive a guy that called you several names? Names that aren’t exactly the nicest?” The voice in my head spoke up, reminding me of this morning.

Yeah, but, he apologized and it really seems like he means it.
“He apologized last time and he ended up doing it again. You can‘t trust he won‘t do it another time.”
I bit my lip, not wanting to hear this anymore. Shutting the voice out, I focused on where Ji-Yong was taking me instead.
I was completely obviously to Ji-Yong’s strange behavior until I felt his uneasiness beside me. Furrowing my eyebrows, I turned my head to see his face hard of emotion, his eyes like glass, his hold on the steering wheel tight. “Ji-Yong?”

“Hm?”
I could tell his mind was somewhere else the moment he didn’t hesitate to look at me. “Ji-Yong, are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

“Are you sure because--”

“Sh!” He put a finger up to his lips, gesturing for me to shut up.
I did as I was told, keeping still, not saying a word while staring at Ji-Yong, trying to figure out what was going on.

Ji-Yong’s Point of View:

Something’s wrong. I could feel it, I could sense it. I just didn’t know what it was.

“Ji-Yong?” I could tell Dara noticed my discomfort and restlessness.
“Hm?”

“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
That was a lie. I was anything but fine but I had to keep a strong front on long enough to find out what it was that was giving me this strong sentiment. I couldn’t tip Dara off.

“Are you sure because--”
I quickly silenced her, putting a finger up to my lips.

I heard some sort a ticking of some sort but I didn’t know where the sound was coming from. I couldn’t concentrate with her talking. If I was going to find out what was wrong, I had to do it in silence.

Trying to focus on the empty road I was driving down, I glanced down and around the car, trying to find the source of the sound.
It wasn’t until I looked down near my radio that I saw a flash of bright numbers counting down by the second.

“Ji-Yong?” Dara whispered.
My eyes stayed glued on the black box wired to my car, my heart beat accelerating with each red flashing number that blinked in my eyes.

12... 11... 10...

“Ji-Yong?”
I snapped out of it. “Get out of the car.”

“What?”
“I said get out of the car!” I leaned over, taking off my seat belt.

“Why?”
“Do you want to die?”
8... 7... 6...

“What are you talking about?” Dara spat, her voice frantic.

“Open the ing door and jump out! Now!” I screamed.
4... 3... 2...

“JUMP!” I yelled, opening the door to my side of the car at the same time Dara opened hers. “NOW!” Jumping, I flew out of the car, falling down onto the street as

I tumbled over onto the sidewalk and in just one second time left, the car busted into flames, a huge explosion taking place.

I covered myself, the sound loud enough to make you go deaf while a few pieces flew in the air, falling all over, some hitting me in the process.
I looked over to see Dara hovered on the other side of the road, her eyes squeezed shut, her hands placed over her ears.

Glancing over to see the explosion had died down a bit, I ran over to her. “Are you okay? Did you get hurt? Did anything hit you?” I pulled her into my arms, making sure she was alright.
Nodding her head, she coughed. “I’m fine, just a bit shaken up.” She gulped, taking a deep breath before coughing once more, her eyes traveling to the sparks of a fire just a few feet away from us. I could tell there was something on her mind.

“Dara?”

“What the hell was that even about?” She tore her eyes away, looking at me with wide, curious eyes, her chest rising and falling heavily.
I stared ahead, the fire sparks dancing in my eyes, taunting me of what could have been both Dara and I. I my lips, gulping down hard. “Someone tried to kill me.”

well this happend while i was reading you storie... ^_^V
Back to your storie, even this was not the ending that i thought it would be it is a really awesome story!!
and why not, its nice to read (well not nice but..argh you know what i mean) -to read a end that you wouldn't expected...
sadly that there wouldn't be a happy ending...
But you know that in many stories has a happy ending but if it has a sad ending it makes the story also sad and that it doesn't fit in it.
but in this story it makes your storie :3 it was a real adventure to read it and i enjoyed!
