Chapter 35

Danger

Dara’s Point of View:

My stomach dropped.

“Who the hell would want to kill you?” I said, shocked.

That was a stupid question and I realized that the moment I opened my mouth.
Of course he has someone who would want to kill him, he has enemies. I spat knowingly to myself. I inwardly rolled my eyes.

“Isn’t it obvious?” Ji-Yong scoffed with a shake of his head, the anger evident in his voice and eyes. The one golden, honey brown color turning into a dark mist, erasing every speck of innocence they once held and replacing them with hatred.

I continued to look at him, waiting for Ji-Yong to elaborate. There could be a lot of people after him. How would I know which one it was?
“It was Luke.” He spat disgustingly, his face twisting in the look of utmost loathe.
I cringed at the name, not wanting to remember what he had did to me but I couldn’t help but wonder… “Why would Luke try to kill you?”
Ji-Yong hoarsely laughed, shaking his head. “Why wouldn’t he?” He turned his eyes away from the ashes of his car to me.
I shrugged. “I don’t know…”

“Don’t be naïve, Dara.” Ji-Yong his lips, looking into my eyes.
“I’m not.” I argued.
“You are.” He looked away. “He has every reason to want me dead.”
“But, why--”
“Because we got away.” He looked at me once more. “Don’t you get it?”

I slowly shook my head.
He sighed, closing his eyes tight before opening them up again. “We got away, we left without a look back. He wanted me dead, he wanted me gone--scratch that--he wanted you gone.”
My eyes widened. “Me? Why?”

“Because he knew how much you meant to me.” Ji-Yong whispered, his eyes vacant, his body with me but his mind elsewhere. “He knew that by taking you and making you go through hell that it would kill me. Having you dead would be the ultimate revenge.” He cleared his throat before continuing. “I wouldn’t be able to think straight if you were gone and he would have an easy target to take me down.”

I nodded my head, slowly progressing this but also understanding. I felt my heart accelerate when he said he cared but it also dropped at the thought of me dying and Ji-Yong being left to die as well.
“His plan got ruined however when I showed up and put him through hell. He hated it and when we both left hand in hand, that pissed him off even more because we got away safely even if we had a few scratches on us.” He paused. “He wants revenge,
Dara.” Ji-Yong sighed bitterly. “And he won’t stop until he gets it.”

I bit my lip. “I just don’t get why he would go through all of this when you let him live…”

Ji-Yong humorlessly laughed. “He’s ed up in the head, Dara.” Looking down at his hands, I watched as he continued to explain everything to me. “He wants me out of the picture.”
“I don’t get how this all started anyways. I mean, why go through all of this when he’s alive and well? Even if you shot him, he’s still breathing--”

“You won’t ever understand.”
I frowned. “Yes, I will. You just have to ex--”

Ji-Yong shook his head. “I already told you too much.”
“But, Ji-Yong--”
“No.” He spoke straight and to the point, showing me he meant business. “That’s enough.”
I dropped it, not wanting to get into yet another argument with him.

Slipping his phone out of his pocket, I furrowed my eyebrows together. “Who are you calling?”

Ji-Yong put a finger up to silence me the moment he placed his iPhone to his ear.
I closed my mouth, listening in.

“Hey man… yeah, I’m fine… listen, I need you to come get me… no, I didn’t skip… I was going to go back… will you just ing come?!… what do you mean no?…. dude, I almost ing died, are you kidding me?… no, I’m not lying!… that’s what I thought… yeah, I‘m on the corner of Jefferson and Hill… okay, okay, I’ll see you in a bit.” He pulled his phone away, pressing end.

“Who was that?”

“Seung Hyun.”
I though back to how the name sounded so familiar and that’s when it came to me. Seung Hyun was one of Ji-Yong’s friends. He was also there when I was kidnapped. “What did he say?”

“He’s coming to get us.”
“Did you tell him what happened?”
“Yep.”

I bit my lip. Why was he acting so strange all of a sudden? I sighed. Men.
After a few minutes of just sitting around, Ji-Yong stood up once a car pulled up ahead of us, leaning his hand over for me to take.
I gladly did as he pulled me up.

“Oof,” I moaned, my number and my body aching from the fall.
“Are you okay?” Concern laced in his words.

I nodded. “Just sore. We fell pretty hard.”
He nodded, wrapping his arm around my waist and helping me over to the car. Once I was seated inside, Ji-Yong pecked my cheek before closing the doorand making it to the passenger side of the car.

“Sup man?” Ji-Yong nodded towards whom I presumed was Seung Hyun.
“Hey.” He fisted butted him before pulling out of the street and rolling onto another one.
I bit my lip, feeling a tad bit awkward.

“Are you guys okay?” Seung Hyun questioned, glancing at Ji-Yong before looking in the rearview mirror.
I softly nodded. “I’m fine.”
He pressed his lips together.

Ji-Yong sat in silence during the car ride, not even opening his mouth to say a word.
I sighed, settling my head back against the headrest when I remembered what I had to do. “Hey, Seung Hyun?”

“Hm?” He seemed slightly taken back that I had spoken to him.
I looked at Ji-Yong, unsure if I should talk to Seung Hyun or not. W hen he merely glanced at me, I knew I was safe to talk. “Uhm,” I fiddled with my thumbs, feeling myself getting flushed knowing both their eyes were on me. “Thanks.”
He knitted his eyebrows together. “For what?”
I my lips. “For, you know, helping me back when Luke.. Ya’know…”
He nodded his head, knowingly. “It was no problem.” He shrugged. “I’d do anything for Ji-Yong and the people he cares about.”
I felt my cheeks heat up the moment those words came from his lips.

“Shut up,” Ji-Yong softly barked.
Surprised, Seung Hyun cocked an eyebrow up. “You didn’t tell her you like her yet?”
I felt my whole body warm up at his question. I inwardly smiled to myself.
“I did.”

“And?” Seung Hyun countered.
“And what?” Ji-Yong asked.

“Are you guys together or not?”

I froze at his question, not knowing myself if we were anything or not. Sure, we kissed and stuff but we never made it… official.

Ji-Yong however shrugged, looking back at me as if to say: “Well, are we?”
Was this his way of asking me to be his girlfriend? I bit my lip contemplating the thought before slowly but surely nodding my head.

Smiling, Ji-Yong turned around. “We are.”

It’s about ing time!” Seung Hyun bellowed.
Ji-Yong chuckled as so did I.

I couldn’t help but smile like a fool the whole ride back to what happened to be
Ji-Yong’s place.
When the door opened and Ji-Yong speared in front of me, I couldn’t help but grin.
“You ready?” Ji-Yong held his hand out.
I nodded while grabbing his hand as he helped me up and out.
Walking up the front path to the door, we waited as Seung Hyun fished the key out of his jeans before pushing it into the keyhole, twisting and opening the door.
He stepped inside and almost immediately we were both bombarded with questions--well actually Ji-Yong was questioned more, I just happened to be standing next to him.
“Why the hell did you leave school? How the hell did your car end up getting bombed? Are you okay? What happened?”
Ji-Yong held his hands up. “Whoa, Young Bae, chill man.”
“Don’t tell me to ing chill Ji-Yong. You could have almost died today!”
He sighed. “I know but you barking questions at me isn’t going to make the matter any better.” He pointed out.
Young Bae sighed, knowing he was right before he slowly backed up. “You’re right but I still demand to know what happened.”

“I know and I’m going to tell you. First, let’s sit down.”
Without another word, Young Bae turned and walked over to the arm chair where he sta down, Ji-Yong taking a seat on the couch, pulling me on his lip, Seung Hyun taking a seat next to us. I couldn’t help but notice four other guys sitting down as well.

“Well?” Young Bae emphasized.
Ji-Yong pulled me back against him as he pressed his chin against my shoulder.

“Dara and I got into an argument in school and I wanted to make up for it. I was going to take her out and I did and everything was going fine when I felt something inside of me. I knew something was wrong and I heard a ticking, I just couldn’t pin point exactly what it was until I looked down, under my radio and saw it. A ing bomb counting down by twelve seconds.”

Ji-Yong his lips. “I told her to jump out the same time I did and we did it just on time because the moment he jumped out of the car, it burst into flames--”
Ji-Yong was interrupted by Young Bae laughing lightly. Furrowing his eyebrows, Ji-Yong cocked a brow up. “What’s so ing funny man?”

“I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but notice Dara always ends up getting in the middle of all these crazy situations.”

Tell me about it.” I muttered.
Young Bae leaned back against his chair. “I gotta hand it to you. You’re one tough girl,” He paused, smiling. “Because no one else would have been able to handle these things like you had. Not even Jung Ah.”

Ji-Yong’s Point of View:

I could feel Dara tense at the mention of Jung Ah’s name and I couldn’t help but sigh. When I saw her smile, I was reassured she was alright again but I wouldn’t let this go. I knew I had to talk to her about Jung Ah eventually and I chose to do the right thing for once.
Young Bae smiled. “I like her.”
I smirked. “Me too.”

Dara blushed, making me smirk even more. I leaned over, brushing my lips against her ear. “I love it when you blush.”
Her cheeks reddened even more causing me to chuckle. The effect I have on her is amusing.

“Alright,” Young Bae clapped his hands together. “Now we talk retaliation because there is no way I’m going to let this er get away with trying to kill you twice.”

“Twice?” Dara asked, confused.

“The first time when I was stabbed and the second being today.” I reminded her.
“Oh…” She nodded her head, showing me she remembered.
“What do you guys say we do?” Young Bae asked.
I leaned up further, tightening my grip around Dara. “I say we do what we first planned. We shoot ‘em out.”
Young Bae nodded. “Blow the warehouse up?”

“Yup,” I said, popping the ‘p’. “We’re going to show that just who he’s messing with and that he’s not going to win when it comes to bringing me down. He’s going to have to do better than blowing my car up.”
Young Bae made a mental note of what I had said, discussing the details with the boys. I already knew what was going to go down and I was prepared.

“When do you say we make the hit?” Young Bae looked over at me.
I didn’t even have to think twice. “Tonight.”
“Hell no.” Young Bae shook his head.
“Why not?” Ji-Yong pulled his eyebrows together in confusion. “The bastard tried to kill me!”

“Because he’ll be waiting for us, Bieber. He’ll know we’ll be coming after him. He’s not stupid. He knows by getting you angry, you won’t think straight and you’ll do what you wanted to right now. We have to get him right when he least expects it.”
Ji-Yong nodded, agreeing with what Young Bae had said. “Okay, so when do you say we make the hit?”

Dara’s Point of View:

It was weird sitting there listening to them plan out a shooting. It wasn’t anything I was remotely used to nor have I ever been in a situation like this but I was glad I was allowed to be a part of it.
I couldn’t help but smile when I knew they trusted me enough to let me into what they were planning. Ji-Yong told me I had every right to know because I was a part of this too whether I knew it or not.

I supposed he was right but I also knew this was his battle, I was just a conquest in the middle of it.

“Are you alright?” Ji-Yong asked me as we walked up the stairs and into his room.

“Yeah, just a bit tired from everything that’s happened.”
“It’s a lot to take in.” Ji-Yong squeezed my shoulders comfortingly.
“You got that right.” I giggled lightly.
He chuckled, pressing his lips to my cheek. “You’re so strong baby, you know that?”
I faintly smiled. “Hardly.”
He shook his head. “Nah babe, you are.”

I shrugged. “I guess.”
“You took everything that happened and didn’t make drama out of it. You didn’t fuss over it nor did you complain. You took it like a man though you’re far from one.” He chuckled, “I’m proud of you.”
I bit my lip to keep from smiling like a child who has just been praised. “Thank you.” I whispered.

Closing the door with his foot, Ji-Yong continued walking behind me, his hands on my shoulders. “Your welcome, baby.”
I grinned at his nickname for me.

“Want to lay down with me?” He asked.
I turned around to face him. “Hell yeah.”

He chuckled at my blunt answer, walking me backwards to the bed. It didn’t take long before the back of my knees hit against it and I fell down on my . Pulling my legs on top, I laid down, my head falling on top of Ji-Yong’s comfortable pillows.

Ji-Yong soon made his way beside me once I scooted over enough for him to lay down.
Wrapping his arms around me, I cradled into them like a baby with her teddy bear, my arms twisting around his waist, my head on his chest.

I felt Ji-Yong play with my hair seconds later and I couldn’t help but smile at how cute we were being.

“Dara?” Ji-Yong whispered.
“Hm?” I mumbled.
“You know I care about you, right?”
“Of course.”
“And I don’t want any secrets to be kept between us.”

I bit my lip, wondering where he was going with this. “Me neither.” I replied, honestly.

“Which is why I’m going to start being honest with you… starting with Jung Ah.”
My body stiffened at her name.
Upon noticing this, Ji-Yong ran his hands up and down my arm in a comforting manner.

“Don’t worry baby, just listen.” He reassured.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want too…” I whispered.

“Nah, I want to.”

I nodded into his chest.
Taking a deep breath, he stared ahead. “Last year, Jung Ah and I were together and things were going great. I loved her and I thought she loved me too…”

I bit my lip, feeling my stomach bubble with jealousy at the thought of Ji-Yong loving someone else other then me.
Even though he’s never actually said those words to me at all.

I looked up at him, outlining his jaw with my finger, soothing him to continue, which he did.

“…Until I found out she’s been lying to me all along. You see, Jung Ah would always have excuse after excuse on why she couldn’t hang out with me or when we were together, why she had to leave. I never thought anything of it at first because I trusted her but then it started to become annoying and I couldn’t take her ditching me every day so eventually, I ended up following her one day. Just to see what she was up to.”

I nodded my head while tracing hearts on his soft skin.

“It turns out that she was doing nothing but the usual so I gave up and felt bad for even doubting her until I got a call the next day telling me she was missing. I started panicking, not knowing who took her or why anyone would. I went looking for her only to find her strapped to a chair at a warehouse, with tape over .

I went to save her when a gun was held to my face.”
I frowned at the thought, my fingers brushing against his neck now, noticing that when I did this, it seemed to clam him down a bit.

“Turns out it was Luke who took her. I couldn’t believe it and wanted her released. I said she didn’t deserve this and that if he wanted to hurt anyone, he should hurt me. He told me it was already too late for that. I tried to find some sort of agreement but he didn’t budge. He had this look of hatred in his eyes and he wanted revenge for what? I had no idea.”

“I told him this was idiotic and that he should just drop it but he told me he couldn’t not without letting me know something. I was confused at first until I saw Jung Ah’s eyes widen and I knew something was up. Luke moved in, took the tape off of Jung Ah’s mouth before placing his lips on top of hers. When I thought she’d scream and move away, she did the unexpected… she kissed him back.”
My eyes widened.

“I felt betrayed, disgusted… worthless. I couldn’t believe that my girlfriend was seeing the enemy. Luke told me that Jung Ah’s been seeing him behind my back for months, I was just too dumb to see it and then he told me something I never expected to hear. He told me she was pregnant… but it wasn’t with my kid.”

I pulled my lips into my mouth, not wanting to make a scene as I held in everything I was feeling at the moment, wanting Ji-Yong to finish speaking.

“It was Luke’s.” He tightened his hold on me, clenching his jaw.
I grabbed onto his right hand, giving it a slight squeeze to reassure him I was here and that everything was alright.

“It was like someone had slapped me across the face and shot me in the chest. I felt like I was in another dimension and I wasn’t there anymore. It was like someone took me away from where I stood and brought me somewhere else. I thought it was all a dream and boy, did I wish it was but it was reality: my girlfriend was seeing my enemy behind my back and she was pregnant with his kid.”

I gulped down the saliva forming in the pit of my throat, feeling my heart ache just as much as Ji-Yong’s. I began to feel his pain.

“I was angry and hurt. She tried to lie her way out, tried to apologize but I didn’t want to hear it. Her hands were soon untied and when I left the room and began speeding down the stairs, she followed me and grabbed onto my arm. I, being mad, viciously pulled away which made her lose her balance…” I saw the tears whelm up in his eyes.

“She fell down the stairs… she was taken to the hospital and later on she found out she lost the kid.”

I bit my lip, keeping myself from gasping out loud like an idiot.

“I couldn’t forgive myself after that. I hated her for making me so angry but I especially hated myself for doing that to her. Did I hate her? Yes. Did I want that to happen? Hell no. Jung Ah however forgave me and wanted me back. She tried to convince me to take her back but I wouldn’t and ever since then, Luke wanted to bring me down. He wanted me to feel his ‘pain’. He hated the fact that even after I found out, Jung Ah still wanted to be with me. It killed him knowing she was still picking me over him even long after she ditched me for him.”
And then it all made sense to me.

Jung Ah, the diner, Luke, the anger, envy, jealousy, hatred and everything else.
I frowned, not being able to believe I was so harsh to him back at the diner. He didn’t want to tell me for a reason because it was really personal and I made a big deal out of it.

“Ever since then, I didn’t trust anyone. I didn’t open up my heart and I certainly didn’t show any feelings. I kept to myself and ignored everyone except for my boys.

I kept my head in my job and didn’t worry about anyone or anything else…” He paused, looking down at me. “Until you came along…”
My heart swelled up.

“You showed me just why I shouldn’t have a relationship,” He chuckled when he saw my eyes widen. “But, you also showed why I shouldn’t hide anymore. You opened my eyes to the real world. You showed me that not everyone’s like Jung Ah. Not every girl is a lying deceiving .”

chuckled at his choice of words.

“You showed me it was alright to open up my heart again.”
My vision blurred as I looked up and into Ji-Yong’s eyes.
“And you showed me how to love again.” He whispered.

I my lips, my throat closing up as the words sunk in. I couldn’t believe it and I certainly couldn’t breathe anymore.

, I pressed my hand against his cheek. “You showed me just why I should open up my heart and let loose. Even though you have mood swings worse than a girl in PMS,”

Ji-Yong chuckled at this. “You have a big heart and you’ve shown that in more ways than one. I’m sorry for always questioning you about Jung Ah… I--”
“Sh, don’t worry about it. You had every right to want to know…”
“I know but I shouldn’t have tried to force it out of you. I should have been patient.”

“Baby, it’s okay. I’m just glad it’s all out in the open.”
I smiled. “Me too.”
After a few seconds, I spoke up again. “I’m so sorry about what happened to you. Jung Ah’s a ing idiot for ever letting you go especially for a piece of trash like Luke and about the baby…” I took a deep breath. “It wasn’t your fault nor was it

Jung Ah’s--as much as I hate to admit it--it was just a case of bad luck and the way you guys were probably perched on the stairs--”
“I shouldn’t have pulled away like that.”

“You were angry which you had every right to be! You just found out your girlfriend was a two timing little cheat,” I sneered in anger towards her.

He looked into my eyes, not saying anything but letting me talk.

“I don’t want you going on with your life with this guilt on your back. Okay?”
He bit his lip.

“Ji-Yong…” I sighed.
He nodded his head. “Okay.”

I smiled. “Good.”
Silence overwhelmed us as we took in all that just happened. It was a lot to take in but we handled so much more than just a secret

After a few minutes, I leaned in closer to Ji-Yong. “Just to let you know,” I whispered. “I’m never going to leave you nor will I ever cheat. I’m here to stay. Okay?”

Grinning, Ji-Yong grabbed my chin in between his index finger and thumb before pulling me up until our lips met as one.

I deepened the kiss almost immediately, moving in closer until our bodies were pressed up against one another’s.
Grabbing onto my left thigh, Ji-Yong pulled it over his waist until I was straddling him, his hands on my hips as he continued salvaging my lips with his.

I ran my hands up and down his chest, grabbing fists of his shirt into the palm of my hand, the emotions in the both of us running wild.
Groaning, Ji-Yong my bottom lip, wanting entrance which I gladly gave, both of our tongues fighting for total dominance against one another.
Rubbing myself against him, Ji-Yong growled ily against my lips, causing them to vibrate.

I moaned, biting onto his bottom lip.
Running his fingers up and down my back, Ji-Yong squeezed my love handles, wanting nothing more than to take this further which, I for one, wasn’t going to protest.

Tugging at the bottom of my shirt, I pulled away long enough to slip it up and over my head before reattaching our lips.
Ji-Yong was next as he flipped us over so that he was on top before leaning up, breathing heavy and pulling his shirt off.

I bit my lip, looking him over before grabbing onto the back of his neck and pulling him in for another heated kiss.

Just as Ji-Yong was about to pull down my pants, the door to his room flew open causing us to both abruptly stop what we were doing, our chests moving up and down in a rapid speed.
I looked up and over to see a girl with dark black hair with vivid blue eyes. I scrunched my face up together wondering where I had seen her before. It took a while but it finally came to me and I remembered I met her the very first time I was ever brought here by Ji-Yong.
The air grew still all of a sudden and I felt the tension build around us especially at the way Ji-Yong stood hovered over me, almost in a protective way.

“What do you want, JinHee?” He spat.
I hooked a brow up. JinHee was here name…
And by the looks of it, I could tell Ji-Yong didn’t like her and almost immediately,

I didn’t either.
Something about her screamed trouble.
I just hoped I was wrong.

The last thing I needed was more drama to be added onto my plate.

well this happend while i was reading you storie... ^_^V
Back to your storie, even this was not the ending that i thought it would be it is a really awesome story!!
and why not, its nice to read (well not nice but..argh you know what i mean) -to read a end that you wouldn't expected...
sadly that there wouldn't be a happy ending...
But you know that in many stories has a happy ending but if it has a sad ending it makes the story also sad and that it doesn't fit in it.
but in this story it makes your storie :3 it was a real adventure to read it and i enjoyed!
