CHAPTER NINETEEN – The Horrible Past

(Jieun’s POV)

Until the tiring day yesterday, we decided to stay on hotel and it’s not too interesting to be told, so let’s just start in the morning. When I woke up, I could see Wooyoung that’s sleeping peacefully beside me. Made me shook my head. He always wake up late, and it made me could see his sleeping face all the time.

First, I just wanted to see him quickly, but somehow, his face gave me a magnetic-kind of thing, as I couldn’t get enough to stare him. Slowly but sure, he opened his eyes and rubbed it slowly, made me turned my head to the other side, pretended to make a bed. “Good morning, wifey,”

He giggled at his own words, as I couldn’t help but giggling too. “So, where do we wanna go today, husby?” I asked, back, but it made me blushed myself.

“Not sure. Where do you wanna go, wifey?”

Wooyoung asked back, made me blushed again. “I don’t know too,” I answered, as he pouted and thinking for a while. “How pabo we are! We have explored Europe, and I even remember all the streets in Rome, but why do we never visit Jeju Island at all?” I chuckled and nodded. “You’re right! I always remember Paris well, but I miss the wonderful of Jeju Island.”

“How about going to the beach? We can go boating!” He suggested, as I nodded happily. “I love that!” I shouted, as we both laughed.

After prepared all the things, we walked to the beach. We borrowed the small ship and started to go sailing to the sea. “Do you really can swimming?” He asked, as I pouted. “What kind of question is that?! Of course, I can!”

We laughed, and stared each other, didn’t sure what to say. “Don’t you think this is a little funny? Both of us married with the arranged of our parents, but we seem like a real couple, don’t you think so?” His sudden question made me choked. “Yes, you right! Hahaha! The arranged couple in the drama usually nagging so much, but we seem so peace.”

Then the situation got awkward again. Wooyoung suddenly chuckled as I frowned. “Is there something on my face that making you laugh?” He immediately shook his head, made me felt curious. “Then, what is it? Just answer me!” He shook his head again, chuckled to me. “You always make me curious, you know!” I stated, as he laughed and still shooking his head. I kept move forward, forced him to say it. He still laughed, “I’ll never tell you eventhough I’m die!”

“Ohh, really?”

I jokingly pushed him, as he fell down to the sea. Then I laughed as he seems shock with my sudden action. He tried to reach the ship frantically, as I smirked to him. “Don’t try to fool me, Jang Wooyoung! I know that you can swim.” I said, but he still pretended to sink, as I just laughed. But after a few minutes, he seems tired and stopped trying, as he started to sink deeper. Made me raised an eyebrows. Is he really pretended? Or not??!!!

“Wooyoung-ah, don’t make me scare! Can you swim?” I asked, started to worried. But he didn’t answer, as I felt as if my heart stopped breathing for a while. I went down to the sea and saved him to the ship, as he seems unconscious and his head is bleeding hard! I mentally slapped my own face for not saving him faster. Softly I pat his body, tried to make him awake. But, there’s no reaction as I started to get more worried.

“What happen?” The crew of the ship asked, as I told him everything with the teary-eyes. He immediately anchor the ship as fast as he could and took Woo to the hospital near the sea, as I couldn’t help but cried and cried again.

(Wooyoung’s POV)

“I’ll never tell you eventhough I’m die!”

I jokingly sticked my tongue, made her pouted. “Ohh, really?” She pushed me to the sea with a sudden, as I shocked. I couldn’t swim! I can’t do it on the sea! I tried to reach the ship, but there’s no chance to hold it, as I started to sink deeper. I could see that Jieun is laughing. I bet she didn’t know about my past at all.

Slowly I started to get tired and weak as the breathing work seems too difficult to pass. I knew that I will sink, but I couldn’t do anything anymore. The rock suddenly hit my head, as the memory of the past started to haunted me, and everything turned to black all of the sudden.

“Wooyoung-ah! Take the ball over there!”

Noona pointed to the ball that fall on the beach, as the five-years-old me nodded and took the ball. When I took it, I slipped and BANG! The water pulled me to the sea, as I couldn’t do anything but crying and calling my older sister continuously. I could see the panic face of my noona’s expression, as she helped and swam toward me.

When she finally touched my hand, the rock from nowhere hit noona’s head, as the blood started to go out from her head. And the worst part is, I couldn’t do anything beside looking at noona’s face, until it got blur and I don’t know what happen again.

I tried to open my eyes as hard as I could, as it seems so hard to opened. “Wooyoung-ah, have you wake up?” I could hear clearly Jieun’s words, as the power from nowhere came and forced me to opened my eyes wider than before. And there she is. Looking at me with her worried look, made her looked cuter than she usually is.

“Wooyoung-ah, can you hear me? Am I have to call the doctor for you?” Her sudden words made me came back to the reality, as I held her hand, resist her to not calling the doctor. “Don’t leave me alone,” I tried to speak, but my words turned to be the husky whisper. She nodded and sat on her old position, still held my hand.

“Woo, I’m sorry for dropping you into the water. I really don’t know if you can’t swim.” She looked at me with her guilty-face, made me chuckled. “I CAN swim, Jang Jieun.” I answered, made her raised an eyebrows. “You still dare to lie with your pathetic situation?”

I pouted, then eyed her softly. “I don’t lie, Jieun-ah. I CAN swim. It just… I can’t do it on the sea. I’ve got some traumatic past with my noona when I was five.”

She seems surprise. “Really?! And, with your noona? Do you have a noona?” I nodded, then smiled bitterly. “Used to, but she died—because of that horrible past—in front of my eyes, so yeah, I’ve got a trauma since then.” I explained, as she pouted once again. “Sorry for making you remember it again.”

“It’s okay. It seems that you don’t know anything about me yet.” She pouted and punched my hand jokingly. “You never told me anything, Mr. Jang!”

“Really?”

She nodded, made me chuckled once again. “Then, I will tell you.” I whispered and approached her face, but when I tried to change my position into the sitting position, the sudden pain in my head made me groaned, and it made her laughed with no reason. “It’s the punishment for you for always kiss me in every possible situation!”

Jieun laughed again, made me pouted. But somehow, seeing her laughable expression made me couldn’t help but smiling like an idiot. Is my brain broken? Not sure, but this is really crazy!
